| | Borders + Amazon.com taking reservations for Book 7 pre-orders
HPANA is reporting that Borders bookstores in Indiana and New York are taking reservations for pre-orders for HP Book 7.
The site quotes one of the e-mails they've been getting from readers in both states. Quote:
Here in Bloomington, Indiana, at the Borders Book Store at 2634 E. 3rd St, they are accepting reservations for Book 7. I was there for other business yesterday and was surprised to see the reservations sign at the information desk. When I asked about it, the manager said they couldn't take reservations yet because they didn't have a release date. I pointed out the sign to him, which he was surprised to see out. One of the other managers had written a note on the back that they were starting to take reservations, even though the release date hadn't been made public. They had also written a number (an SKU?), which he entered, and sure enough - put my name on the list. I don't know if this is happening nationwide, but the reservation process has at least started here.
ADDITION: Amazon.com is taking online requests for notification to pre-order as well. Be aware! This is a sign-up to receive notice for when you can actually pre-order the book! Not actual pre-orders for the book! The release date is still not known! Quote:

My first thought when I saw this: "No, not again "mistakes" with per-orders!"
This looks like some foolish thing to me.

| The Sweetest Thing Lissy De Vil I have a feeling that Borders is doing the same thing as Amazon.com - taking reservations to be notified for when we can order the book! A notification for when the pre-ordering starts! Not an acutal pre-order! I'll check out Borders when I go there tomorrow (I live in NY).

Yeah I think its just a notification for when the release date is announced...they just want you to be ready with pre-orders the moment the expected realase date comes up...there was a big ad at a site I was just on (mugglenet maybe...don't really remember) it just said "anticipating book 7, know the moment release information is available"

It can never hurt to sign up for the Amazon alerts to pre-order. But being an Amazon junkie and having done this before, I can tell you truthfully that: a) I have signed up for alerts to pre-order books more then a year before they actually come out (so this is no indication of how soon Book 7 will be available), and b) I've noticed the item on pre-order days before they actually send me the alert. In other words, I have a feeling we will not need these alerts. We'll know when pre-orders start long before the alerts reach us.

| Ultimate Potterite Original original Wow! It seems that these bookstores are very convinced that HP Book 7 is going to come out sometime soon. I wonder if they know something we don't...? Actually, I'd prefer for the book to come out in summer 2008. Why? Simply because I want it to be as long as possible and wonderful. And I also don't particularly like the idea of the movie and book both coming out in the same summer. Spacing them would be a better idea for profits, I think. Though that's just me, and I could be completely wrong... Sounds exciting though! |
