Alison Sudol sings Ilvermorny school song from 'Fantastic Beasts' deleted scene, more

SnitchSeeker took part in the London roundtable discussions this week with several of the cast and crew of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and noted some of the new information and highlights from them. Obviously, given how much press the cast did in New York for over a week, quite a lot of information has already been released about Fantastic Beasts.

Here, however, are two new fun and informative pieces of information SnitchSeeker learned during the London roundtable session with Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) on Monday morning.

David Yates and David Heyman revealed a week ago that one of the deleted scenes from Fantastic Beasts, which will be featured in the DVD extras next year, is a musical clip where the Goldstein sisters sing the 'Ilvermorny school song' in front of Newt Scamander and Jacob in the magizoologist's suitcase.

The song was written by Sudol herself, a famed singer and musician prior to her acting career. When SnitchSeeker reporter Milo asked Sudol if she remembered bits of the song, she not only confirmed, but even sang a few lyrics! That can be listened to here.

SnitchSeeker: Going back to your music, I believe there's a scene where you sing the Ilvermorny song. Can you still remember?
Alison Sudol:
Uh... yeah! It's a duet, actually, that I do with my sister. But there's this little part where it was really fun, where it goes: "Why don't we choo-choo there, Massa-chooo-setts? We choo-choo there! We choo-choo there!"

That was my favorite part; Katherine and I both liked that.
Another interesting bit is the confirmed timeline Fogler noted for the five Fantastic Beasts movies, starting off in 1926 New York City right before the stock market crash and Great Depression, and leading to the 1945 finale between Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) and Dumbledore (confirmed by J.K. Rowling at last week's world premiere) by the end of World War II.

Have you met [J.K. Rowling]? Was she very much involved in the movie, and on the set?
Dan Fogler:
I think she came to set four times overall, and it was just like, an event, you know? It was the Revelation! She was very excited and open about sharing the future of our characters with us, and then came on set and was as excited as we were to hear it. Her energy was so infectious.

She's been thinking about this [movie] since the first eight [Harry Potter] movies. She was just percolating, ready to share.

How much has she planned, and how much do you know?
Dan Fogler:
Well, quite a bit is out there, which is really exciting. I was putting the puzzle pieces together, like we're headed into into the stock market crash, the Great Depression, World War II, so that's really quite an exciting timeline that we're working in. And then we just heard the other day that the culmination of the movies is with the famous duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. I just have these visions of giant Wizard wars, you know? I mean, my God!

Alison Sudol: We're so excited - It's just crazy! I try to pick her brain in advance, just to go deeper, and it's just like, 'Oh, you've got to wait!' and I'm like, 'Ahh! What happens?!' That's such a great sign of a really powerful story, we're involved in an entire world.

choo choo there? Ilvermorny Express confirmed! :P

im actually quite keen to see how great Magical events impacts on Muggle history, because yknow, 1920s-1940s... thats kinda like a run of humanity's greatest hits of awful yknow? did Magical chaos influence Muggle chaos or was it the other way around? i mean sure Wizarding Statute yada yada, but its kinda hard to ignore the Great Depression or the dropping of the Atomic bomb as purely just Muggle affairs and not something that somehow impacts on the Wizarding World too.

Pity they had to cut all these scenes... Let's hope they'll do a Home Video Complete Edition with the full-lenght film!!! :D
