| | Alfonso Cuaron "tempted" to direct Deathly Hallows
In a new interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Alfonso Cuaron, the director of the film version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, admitted that he would be "very tempted" to direct that final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Quote:
I feel a little bit like I have to try to do the films that are not going to exist without me. On the same token, I would be really tempted because it was really beautiful. I just started reading the last book and something I respect is the care the producers have put in the film franchise. It would have been so easy after the success of the series just to take the cynical approach of knowing that no matter what people are going to see those movies. Actually they've been taking a lot of care from beginning to end, so yeah I would be really tempted.

As long as Columbus doesn't do it, I'll be happy. Sure the first 2 were fairly close to the books, but that's not what makes great cinema. Cuaron, Newell & Yates are far superior film-makers in my mind. I really hope Yates completes a trilogy.

I enjoyed Chris Columbus's versions of the books, but I don't want him to direct it.
I didn't enjoy David Yates...
I do hope Alfonso Cuaron directs it. Or in a rumor a while back, M. Night Shamalyn (spelling?)...I love his movies.

That's the thing, it isn't the director's job to make a version of the book, it's to adapt the story for the screen - there is a difference.

Just look at the Shrunken Head he put into PoA. Perfecto! Even JK said so! She did mention she was so very satisfied at what he'd created. I think that is saying alone that he is so very good at what he does!

I'm not sure he should direct it. Someone new should. The fifth movie was great but too much was cut and changed. Whoever makes the 7th movie has to make it closer to the book since it's the last one.

I actually think that if they got all the HP dierctors together for that last one that would be "wicked." (as Ron would say )

| Snape is my man! Yes! Alfonso Cuaron, I definitely encourage you to direct Deathly Hallows! In my opinion, PoA was a fantastic movie. Cuaron did an excellent job with it. It was really true to the book compared to the other movies. I don't get why some of you guys don't like it. I will be very glad if he does direct DH. |

It didn't feel as long but you knew it was!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Bueller B. Betsworth Fifth Year | Jor!Jor! Queen Hermidana Eeeek! I would be so pleased if Alfonso directed Deathly Hollows! -dies of happiness- He is absolutely brilliant and I love his films! <333 PoA is my favorite HP movie from the series and I wished he would have directed GoF because that movie in my opinion was not done well at all. I really didn't care for it and it just didn't flow like PoA did.
I hope hope hope he directs it. That would be an AWESOME end to the HP movie series. ^.^ <333 |

I think that Alfonso and DH would be a great match. he would defiantely be able to bring the darkness of war in the movie. To be honest I don't really like how David Yates handled things. He didn't do a great job on OOTP. He took out so much and I understand why, the book was huge, but he replaced it with things that weren't in the book and that depressed me a bit. I still liked OOTP, but I don't want him to ruin DH.

I hate PoA.
So if he directs DH, it'll ruin the film, and I love the book. So no. |

Yes, for the better! Although, it really wasn't just his doing; you have to take into consideration other people, such as the production designer.
