Matt Lanter/The Dark Side/Anakin Skywalker/ Underland/Hookah Smoking Caterpillar

This will be my second official fanfic. My first one is My Life Flipped. Go ahead and check it out
Disclaimer: I own some characters. Most belongs to J.K.Rowling.
Here's the first part.
I like constructive criticism (just so you know )
Enjoy!
P.S. just so you know, this story takes place way before Harry's time. Around 1924 if you want to be specific.

The petite, sixteen year old girl silently trudged down the cellar stairs. She yawned, and glanced at the barely working clock sitting on top of the table. 11:50.
Another long night. She thought to herself.
Her father and two brothers had already gone to bed two hours previously. They had left her alone in the kitchen to clean up the dinner things. After they had gone, the girl had snuck into the pantry and stolen some extra food, which she put into the pocket of her dirty apron. She wasn’t fed enough. She never was fed enough and her stomach always growled feebly.
She looked around the cellar that had to serve as her room. A bed stood in one corner, with a thread bare quilt strewn across it and a flat pillow slightly hanging off the edge. A lantern sat on the wooden table pushed against the wall. It served as the only light source for the room. The candle flickered. It was growing smaller and would probably last only an hour more. A square mirror was propped up against the wall. She briskly walked over to it and studied her figure.
Coralie was small for her age. She wore a too large faded green dress that made her look even smaller than she really was. She wore an apron on top of that. It was smudged with dirt and grease and was in need of a good wash.
I’ll get to that when I have time. She thought
Scowling, the girl tried to brush through her short brown curls with her fingers. It was matted and tangled and she only had a little comb, which was too small to completely brush through her hair.
After staring at her reflection for a minute, Coralie gingerly took her apron off and pulled the food out of her pockets.
She threw it in a heap on the table and stared at her hands. Burns, scraps, and scars were splattered over her forearms and palms. An owl had came while she was preparing dinner. It rapped on the window which made her jump, and she dropped three dishes.
Her father came into the kitchen, shouting as usual. He called her a filthy Squib and that she was no better than a house elf. Of course she didn’t care; he always said that. What frightened her was what he would do to her.
Coralie has been beaten, abused, and even starved.
“Thats a squibs life,” she muttered aloud.
Grabbing the food, she sat on her bed. It creaked ominously as she covered herself with the thin blanket. She tore apart the bread and ate, thinking. After a moment, she reached under her bed and pulled out a small journal. It was her mother’s.
“I wish you were here.” She grumbled, flipping open to the first picture.
It was just a picture of her mum. Coralie and her mother looked almost exactly alike. They both had the same shade of brown hair, and the same lively blue eyes. Or at least they were lively. Coralie’s eyes always looked dull and sad nowadays. She pulled a gold chain out from under the front of her dress and looked at her mother’s necklace. It was silver heart, a locket, that contained absolutely nothing.
Sighing, she returned the book to where it was and finished up her snack. Coralie stood up and walked over to the table. She blew out the candle, was plunged into pitch black, and felt her way back to her bed. Kicking off her boots, she laid down and fell asleep.

Ok, so I will post soon, and leave your replies.

So no replies, but here's the next part

“Oi! Girl! Get up!” Coralie woke with a start and jumped out of her bed. She blinked the sudden black spots out of her eyes then looked at the clock. 8:05.
“Oh, crap.” she whispered, grabbing her apron off the table and throwing it over her head.
The girls father banged on the door, still shouting.
“I’m coming!” She yelled up the stairs, frantically tying the knot behind her back.
Coralie looked in the mirror, tried to brush out her hair, then stuffed her feet into her black boots by her bed.
She ran up the stone steps, two at a time, and pushed open the door at the top.
Charles Davids stood in the hallway, blocking her path to the kitchen. He was a heavy built man, with closely cropped brown hair and a beard to match. His green eyes showed a trace of anger in them.
Coralie peered up at her father, afraid.
“Go make breakfast,” he huffed.
As the girl passed, her father shoved her shoulder, making her trip forward.
“And be quick with it. “ He said.
Coralie passed her two older brothers, who were sitting at the table reading over the Daily Prophet. Carson, the eighteen year old, shot a glare at his sister. Coralie quickly looked away and moved over to the stove. Christopher didn’t even look up.
The girl turned the dial and the stove started up. She went to the dilapidated fridge and pulled out some eggs, then broke them on a pot and set it on the stove. She waited a moment, then turned the dial to a higher setting.
“I need you to go down to the river and get some water.” Coralie looked up at Christopher, who had finally spoken.
“I need it.” he snapped, answering her questioning look.
She nodded then turned back to the breakfast.
After about ten minutes, Coralie picked up the pot and dumped some eggs onto each of their awaiting plates. Her brothers put down the newspaper to eat. She didn’t even bother to look at it. She’s been scolded before for being a nosey brat.
The squib shifted through the cabinets contents, then pulled out a wooden bucket.
“I’ll be outside if you need me.” she muttered to them all.
She exited the old house through the back door.
Coralie barely knew the land her family owned. What she did know was that the property ended at the river behind the house. Most of the land was woods, and big oak trees hid most of the small house from people passing by. She knew another family lived on the other side of the river, but she had never met any of them. In fact, she never met anyone. Squibs are usually hidden away. Only family knew about them.
Coralie dodged her way through the thickening trees. Out of nowhere they lightened up to show the shallow river behind it.
She was about to move forward, toward the bank of the river, to fill up the bucket when she heard voices. Coralie ducked behind a thick tree, put the bucket next to her feet and peered around. Two figures were coming to the rivers edge.
First appeared a boy. He had dark brown almost black hair, and dark blue eyes. Freckles were splattered over his nose and cheeks. He held a wand in his right hand.
He must be of age, thought Coralie.
Next appeared a young girl. She had the same color hair, but green eyes. She wore a short purple dress and looked to be only about eight or nine.
“Come on, Jaxon, pleeeeeeease.” she whined, “Just show me again.”
The boy named Jaxon laughed. “Oh all right.”
He pointed his wand at the river, muttered a spell, and a large, mossy rock floated out of the river’s current. With a flick of his wrist the rock flew towards Coralie, who had to back up into the tree’s protection to prevent it from hitting her.
“I can’t wait to do that.” the young girl breathed.
The boy laughed again. “Yeah, only two more years until you go to Hogwarts.”
Coralie looked back around the trunk of the tree. They were now sitting on the bank. The girl had her feet hanging over the edge into the water.
“Who lives over there?” She asked after a minute.
Jaxon looked up to where his sister was pointing.
“Dunno really. Dad knows them. The Davids, I think”
“Who are they?” she pressed further.
“I believe it’s a man and his two sons.”
“Why is it that I’ve never seen them?” The girl’s voice floated over the sound of the rushing water.
“They’re kinda weird. Keep to themselves.”
“Show me another spell.” The girl quickly changed the subject.
“Really, Addison.” He said exasperatedly.
“Come on.”
He smiled then pointed his wand at nothing in particular. Coralie moved farther around the tree to see better. Unknowingly, she kicked the bucket at her feet, which went rolling down half the bank.
Addison screamed and jumped up to hide behind her brother. Jaxon had also stood up and looked at the empty bucket with a surprised look on his face.
“Hello?” He yelled.
Coralie had moved back behind the tree.
“I’m not afraid to shoot a spell, whoever you are.”
With a sigh, she looked to see what he was doing. Just then, a blast of red light shot past her head. Coralie lost her footing and slipped out from behind the tree.

So tell me what you think and I will post soon.

Haha thanks Ruby!

Here's the next part.

Jaxon saw the girl appear, saw her stumble out from behind the closest tree and slip partly down the muddy bank. His sister screamed again, at the sudden appearance, and hid closer behind him.
“Who are you?” he said loudly.
The brown haired girl stood up and hastily brushed off her dirty apron.
“Did you hear me?” Jaxon asked.
The girl stared at him with a frightened expression on her face. He took the time to look her over. She wore an oversize dress, muddy boots, and dirt and filth clung to her face, hair, and hands. He saw her gaze shift to his wand, still held aloft in his hand, and, unconsciously, pointed directly at her.
“Why were you watching us?” Addison said from behind him.
The girl still didn’t answer.
“Coralie! Oi! Where are you?!” She turned to look at the woods spread out behind her. Quite suddenly, she picked up the bucket, ran to the edge, and dumped it into the water. As the girl stood up a figure appeared from behind the trees. The young man was of age and held a wand in his hand.
“What’s taking you so long?” he half shouted at her.
The girl named Coralie looked around at Jaxon and his sister.
“Oh.” he said his eyes catching the two on the other side of the river.
He flicked his wand casually. A long gash appeared on the girl’s arm, just above the elbow, making her drop the bucket. Jaxon saw her double over in pain, her hand clutching the wound.
“Hey!” He said automatically.
The man then turned to him.
“Sorry if my sister disturbed you,” He said rudely. He then glared back at her. Coralie looked up at her brother, a few tears already tracing down her face.
“Get the water and come back to the house.” He growled.
Coralie nodded then picked up the bucket and once again kneeled down at the waters edge.
The man disappeared back into the direction of the house across the river. Jaxon, his sister, and Coralie were only separated by about five feet. He felt like he should have said something, or perhaps even helped her with the water bucket she was now struggling to pull out of the river.
“Go back to the house, Addy.” he muttered.
His sister obeyed and disappeared through the trees.
“I didn’t know Davids had a daughter.” he said.
Coralie looked up at him and slowly nodded.
“You’re names Coralie?” he continued.
She nodded again. That’s a pretty name, he thought.
“Do you need help with that?” He asked hesitantly.
The girl shook her head.
“Are you sure? You look like you need it.” His eyes flicked to the bloody wound on her arm.

Before Coralie could even reply she heard an odd squelching noise. She looked around to notice a disturbance in the waters current. Slowly, a few rocks surfaced and floated on the top.
The boy nimbly jumped across them and moved to stand next to her. Coralie stood up. He was a few inches taller than her.
“Let me help you.” he said.
“No.” she murmured, backing away.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” He said with a slight laugh in his voice.
Jaxon took the bucket from her and set it on the ground.
Coralie watched him, a little frightened, yet not completely afraid.
“Let me see your arm.” he said holding out his hand.
Coralie obediently did so. The boy traced the edge of the deep mark with his wand, muttering some things under his breath.
“Thanks.” she mumbled when he was done.
“I’m Jaxon. Jaxon Smith.” He said
“Coralie Davids.” she muttered picking up the bucket again.
“Nice to meet you.” he smiled.
The girl averted her eyes. “I should go.” she said eventually.
“Uh, yeah you should.”
Coralie shot a glance at her new friend.
“Your brother…” he stuttered.
Coralie nodded in understanding. She picked up the bucket and made her way back to the house. At the edge of the woods she turned to look back at him, a slight smile playing around her lips
.

Ok tell me what you think!

Thanks for replying Ruby!

ahhhhh so sorry! had to change Coralie's last name! For all of yall who are keeping up w/ m story Coralie's last name is Davids instead of Jones.

Oh and everything in blue is from Coralie's perspective and everything in red is in Jaxon's perspective.

Haha, here's the next part!

“You let him heal you?!”
The small girl backed into the corner of the room. Her father stood over her, menacingly.
She nodded quickly.
“Why would you let him do that?!”
She whimpered. The squibs’s brothers stood by the door, watching, each with a small grin on their face. Christopher had told her father everything that had happened by the river. He started yelling at her as soon as she came through the door.
Charles Davids lifted his wand and pointed it threateningly at his daughter’s face.

“Davids has a daughter?”
Jaxon looked up at his mother. She stood over the stove, a spoon in one hand, and an oven mit in the other.
“Apparently.” He leaned against the clean, marble counter, staring off into space. His mother studied his expression.
“What?” he said at last.
“She was pretty wasn’t she?”
Jaxon stared at his mum.
“I know you,” she said with a sparkle in her eye, then returned to the soup on the stove.
Addison danced in circles around the kitchen table. She was waiting impatiently for her favorite soup her mum was making for lunch.
“Relax, Addy.” Jaxon said, laughing, “You’ll get some.”
Was she pretty?” His mother asked after a minute.
Jaxon’s gaze returned to his mother’s turned back.
“I don’t know. I guess.” he said hesitantly.
Mrs. Smith laughed.
“Get to know the girl.” she said.
“I don’t know if I can.”
His mother looked quizzically up at him. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t think she’s exactly treated well.”
“Huh?” Mrs. Smith looked serious now.
“She was afraid of me. Of Addy.” he gestured to his sister, “and when her brother came…” he cut off when he saw his mum’s worried expression.
“I’ll go over there later.” she said, “see if she can come over for some tea or something.”
“No.” Jaxon said automatically. He loved his mum, but hated it when she got too much into his business.
“I’ll go. Later today. At sunset.”
She nodded solemnly, then poured soup into four awaiting dishes for her daughter, son, husband, and herself.

Tell me what you think, please!

Here's the next part! Please reply!

Coralie sat down on her bed. Her apron laid in a heap on the floor, and a couple rags were laying next to her.
She slipped her dress to around her waist and stared down at the large purple bruise on her side. Standing up, she moved over to the mirror on the table. She twisted around to look at the damage on her back. Long scratches criss crossed on her shoulder blades, and a few large bruises covered the rest. Coralie shifted her attention to her face. She dabbed at her tear streaked cheeks, which took off some caked blood and dirt.
Her reflection looked back at her pitifully. Sighing, Coralie pulled her dress back up. Blood was seeping through the back, but there was nothing she could do about that.
She wrapped some of the rags around her arms, where some more scratches were. At least she could do something about that.
Coralie picked up her apron and put it on. She slipped the rest of the rags into her pocket, just in case.

With some pestering from his mum, Jaxon put his wand into his back pocket then left his house at sunset. He looked back at his cozy, little home, then set forth onto the dirt road that led to his neighbor’s house.
He continued to walk, and hugged his jacket closer around him. Jaxon didn’t know what to expect. He had seen how Coralie was so afraid, and how the brother had acted. He paused at the edge of the overgrown lawn of the Davids’s.
The house sat in the middle of the yard. Trees flanked either side of it, and the hedges and shrubs were wild and almost unrecognizable. What surprised him though, was the condition of the house.
It looked dilapidated, with a roof missing a lot of shingles and a door that was barely on it’s hinges. The house was made of stone, and the roof was a deep grey. The windows were covered in dirt, and one had a spiderweb of cracks on it, as if someone had thrown something at the glass.
The woods were thicker in the back of the property. It was thinned near the road, and Jaxon thought it would be better if it were the opposite so that nobody could see the sad looking house.
He stepped onto the brown grass and marched up to the front door.

Coralie heard the knock on the door from the cellar. She limped up the steps and walked towards the front door. She passed her father, who was sitting in a patched up recliner with the Daily Prophet in his hand. He didn’t even look up as she passed. Christopher and Carson were somewhere on the second floor of the house. Each were probably in their room, Carson doing whatever, and Christopher using the water that he needed earlier that day.
Coralie cracked open the door and peered around it. Jaxon stood on the porch. He was looking down at where he was standing, and was shifting his position often, as if he were afraid he would fall right through the floor boards.
“Jaxon,” she whispered, “What are you doing here?”
He looked up at her voice.
“I… uh…” he seemed to be confused and didn’t know what to say.
Coralie opened the door further.
“What happened to you?” he asked.
Jaxon’s eyes traced over the blood on her face.
“I can’t talk now and your gonna get me in trouble. What do you want?” she mumbled.
“Fancy a walk?” he asked quietly.
Coralie looked around behind her, then turned back and bit her lip.
“I don’t know.” she said hesitantly.
“Just a short one.” he coaxed.
“Um… hold on.”
Coralie went back into the house.
“I’m going outside for a bit. I’ll be back soon.” she said to her father.
As expected, Charles grunted in response, his eyes not leaving the paper.
She left the house and closed the door behind her.
“Don’t you need a jacket?” he asked.
Coralie shrugged. “I don’t have one.”
The girl tried to stay a little behind Jaxon. She didn’t want him questioning the red spots on her back.
Her hands slipped into the pockets of her apron. In one, she felt the rough cloth of the rags underneath her fingers.
“Aren’t you cold?” he asked.
Coralie breathed in the chilly autumn air, “Not really.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah,” she murmured.
After a minute of silence, Coralie realized they were on the dirt road.
“Where are we going?” she said.
“Dunno. Wherever, I guess.”
The squib looked between him and her surroundings.
“I never really left the house before.” she finally said.
“Never?” he asked credulously.
She shook her head.
They continued walking, neither speaking much.
“Can you tell me what happened? I saw you this morning and you looked fine. Now…” he cut off.
“It’s nothing.” she said.
“Nothing? Coralie, your hurt.” he pointed out.
She looked up at the boy. It was the first time someone said her name and there wasn’t a trace of anger in it.
“I’m fine.” she stated.
“Come on. We’ll go back to my house, and you can get cleaned up.”
“What?” she stopped dead in the road.
“Come on.” he repeated, “You can meet my family.”
She didn’t reply, but her face turned a lighter shade. Jaxon took her hand and pulled her forward.

K, tell me what you think!

Thanks for your reply Emily!
Here's the next part!

Coralie stopped in front of a little log cabin. It was set on a hill, and flowery bushes sat around it. Smoke came out of the chimney. A golden glow spread over the lawn from the open windows. Inside, Coralie could see a woman leaning over a stove.
“You live here?” she asked quietly.
“Yeah,” Jaxon replied with a slight smile, “don’t be so shy.” he said looking at her.
Coralie blushed a deep red and looked down at the ground.
“Come on,” he chuckled.
He continued to pull the girl up the yard and to the front door. He turned the golden knob and guided her through.
“Mum, I’m back.” he called through the house.
Coralie heard a faint ‘ok’ from the kitchen.
“Up here.” Jaxon lead her up some stairs to the second floor. She passed a room where Addison was sitting on the floor playing with a doll, and a study where a man was leaning back in a chair with a paper and quill sitting on the desk in front of him.
He ushered Coralie to the back of the hallway and into a bathroom.
“Every you could need is in here. Call me when your done. I’m gonna try to find you something warmer to wear.” Jaxon looked over the small girl’s figure.
“Uh…” was all the girl was able to say.
Jaxon smiled then closed the door behind him.
Coralie took the time to look around. A tub sat in the corner and a toilet and sink and mirror in the other.
She went over to the mirror. The girl looked pale, her blue eyes big and sympathetic. He brown hair was tangled. She took off her apron and laid it over the edge of the sink. Blood was visible through the rags around her arms. She untied one, and her stomach flipped over.
The long scratch was deeper than it looked. Dirt surrounded the wound and the skin around the edges was tinted a light green color. Turning on the water, she placed her arm under the faucet. She bit back a yelp as the cold water hit the sensitive skin. The dirt and caked blood easily came off, but the greenish wound was still there, and it looked even worse when it was clean.
“Coralie?”
Jaxon’s voice floated through the door. She opened it and he came in.
“I found you this.” he held out a light blue dress.
She took it, and instinctively turned her arm to try and hide the cut, but of course he noticed it.
“Oh my…” He took her arm, and undid the rest of the rags, to which she never had time to get to.
“Your brother did this?” he asked.
“No. My father.”
“What?” he looked into her eyes, a worried expression on his face.
“It’s nothing.” she repeated what she had said before.
“No, it’s not.” he said firmly.
Jaxon took out his wand and traced the wounds like he had done that morning. She tried to pull back, but his grip tightened. The cuts slowly healed over.
“Anything else?” he asked scanning her body.
“No. You can’t. He just gonna do it again.”
“No he’s not. I won’t let him.”
“Jaxon, you can’t stand up to my father. He has my brothers on his side and all of them combined are more experienced than you.”
“So? You can’t just take this sitting down.”
“Yes I have to. This has been going on since I was born and my parents figured out I was a Squib.”
Jaxon’s eyes shot up to her face. He had been looking over her body, for some injury she had kept hidden.
“You’re a squib?”
Coralie instantly bit her lip. She shouldn’t have said that.

I just got sorted into Gryffindor! haha
K, Here's the next part.

Sudden realization dawned over Jaxon’s face.
“So that’s why we never met before.” he muttered.
Coralie nodded. “My whole family’s been in Slytherin. And they’re all purebloods.” she said, “Father didn’t want anyone to know I had wrecked the family bloodline.”
“‘Wreck the family bloodline’?” he asked credulously, then scoffed. “Coralie who cares if your a squib.”
He took her other arm in his hand and healed the cuts with his wand.
“Everyone does. Tell me, how many other squibs have you met?”
Jaxon hesitated before answering. “Well…”
“Exactly. None. Squibs like me are all hushed up nowadays.”
Coralie turned around after he had finished fixing up her arm.
“I don’t mind that your a squib,” he mumbled.
The girl didn’t reply. After a moment, Jaxon finally spoke.
“Woah, your really beaten up.” he muttered pointedly.
Coralie looked in the mirror. Behind her, the boy was staring at her back. Hesitantly, he reached up to undo the buttons on her dress. Coralie pulled aside her brown hair.
“I can’t heal bruises.” he murmured. He traced one of the longer purple bruises, which ran from the base of her neck, down her back, and some ways around her shoulder blade. Coralie shivered at his gentle touch.
“It’s ok.” she said.
“I can fix these though.” Jaxon had found one of the few sources of the red stains on her dress. Again, he traced the edges with his wand.
“Get a bath, then come back downstairs, my mum wanted to meet you.” Jaxon smiled and left, closing the door behind him.

“Where is she?” Mrs. Smith asked her son.
Jaxon threw his wand onto the counter. His mother stood in front of him, a few inches shorter, and holding a steaming plate of chicken.
“Upstairs.” he said.
Addison came running down the stairs and into the kitchen.
“Wasn’t that the girl we met today?” she asked excitedly.
Jaxon laughed. “Yes she is, Addy.”
“What’s she doing here?”
Mrs. Smith answered. “She’s our guest, so be polite.”
Jaxon bent down and tugged on one of his sister’s blonde pigtails, “Listen to mum. We don’t want to scare her away.”
“Ooooooh. Jaxon’s got a girlfriend.”
Color flooded up the back of the boy’s neck.
“She’s not my girlfriend.” he stated.
“Whatever you say.” Addison Smith skipped over to her seat and hummed quietly while she waited for dinner.

Coralie stepped out of the bathtub. She dried off with a soft, white towel, then slipped on the dress Jaxon had given her. It almost fell down to her feet, but it fit perfectly. She looked at her reflection in the mirror.
Coralie’s once matted brown hair curled down to her shoulders. Her face was no longer bloody or covered in dirt, but looked pale and splattered with light freckles. She ran the length of the towel through her hair, to try and dry it. Content with her image, she walked down the hallway.

“You a friend of Addy’s?”
Coralie jumped at the sudden voice. A man stood in the doorway of one of the bedrooms. He leaned casually against the frame. Coralie looked up at him then said, “No, Jaxon’s.”
Mr. Smith was a tall man. He had the same dark brown hair as his son and the same deep blue eyes. He was a little more broader, and laugh lines were crowded at the corners of his eyes.
“Never seen you around before.” he scrutinized her figure.
“No,” she agreed.
“Are you staying for dinner?” he asked.
“I- I don’t know, Sir. You see, my family is kinda dependent on my being there to cook.”
“I’m sure they won’t miss you for one night.” His lips curved into a slight smile.
I’m sure they would, she thought, but she didn’t say anything.
Instead, Mr. Smith put his hand on her shoulder and guided her towards the kitchen.

Thanks Emily!
Here's the next part!

“Coralie.” Jaxon stood up from his chair and looked at the girl. She was talking to his father, but stopped when she heard her name.
Jaxon smiled reassuringly. She blushed a light pink and looked at the hardwood floor.
“You must be the famous Coralie.” Said the boy’s mum. She put the plate of chicken down on a mat on the table, then walked over her guest.
“Nice to meet you, dearie.” Instead of shaking her hand she pulled Coralie into a hug.
The girl looked a little flustered, but a small smile spread across her face.
Mrs. Smith pushed a black lock of hair behind her ear.
“You like chicken?”

Coralie glanced between the watching family members.
“Uh… Yes.” She said quietly.
“Take a seat.” Said the father, gesturing towards the extra chair.
Jaxon sat back down, and the girl followed, taking the empty chair beside him. Just then, when she smelled the scent of the meat on the table, her stomach growled. Coralie realized how hungry she was and that she hasn’t even eaten anything at all that day.
The five of them passed food around. Coralie had never eaten at the table with her brothers and father. She was usually the one behind the stove, cooking. The family seemed very inviting and they all told her a little about themselves.
Addison did most of the talking. She told stories of that day to her parents, and they all laughed, even Coralie. Addison seemed to be the ‘jokester’ of the family. Even though she only ten, she could light up anyone’s mood.
Mr. Smith told things about his job. He worked at the Ministry of Magic, and had plenty of things to say. The squib found everything he said interesting. She has heard of the Ministry, but didn’t know much about it.
Mrs. Smith usually stayed at home. Coralie learned that she kept a garden in the backyard and most of the time she can be found there.
Jaxon was the last to talk. He said he was seventeen years old and had just graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry. He was in Ravenclaw, and is hoping that Addy is placed there too. Jaxon laughed when he said that he didn’t know what he wanted to do with the rest of his life.
Finally, Mr. Smith asked about Coralie’s life.
The girl hesitated before she spoke. But, before she could even say a thing, Mrs. Smith said: “She’s our neighbor, mind you. David’s has a daughter, did you know that?”
Mr. Smith looked Coralie over.
“No, I didn’t know that. Why have we never met before?”
“I don’t get out much,” she muttered in response.
Under the table, Jaxon lightly touched her arm.
“You look no older than seventeen. Do you go to Hogwarts?”
Coralie looked at the man. “No,” she stated, “I’m sixteen and I don’t go there.”
“Oh?”
“Yes,” she muttered glancing back at her plate.
Coralie was about to say more, but she was cut off by a sudden banging on the door.

Thanks for the reply Emily
Here's the next part!

Jaxon jumped when he heard the sudden knocking on the door. He dropped his knife, which clattered loudly on his plate.
“I wonder who that could be.” His mum said cheerfully. She stood up to get the door.
“Coralie?” Jaxon asked timidly. He stared at the girl next to him. She had frozen in place, and the rest of the color in her cheeks faded.
“Is she alright?” Asked the boys father.
“I don’t know.” he replied, “Coralie.” he said firmly.
“I should go.” she stuttered.
“Addy, go upstairs.” Jaxon said to his sister.
“I’m not done with dinner.” she argued.
He shot a glance at the ten year old, “Just go.”
“Fine.” she said dramatically, then stomped back up the stairs.

Mrs. Smith opened the front door.
“Can I help you?” she asked pleasantly.
“Yeah I’m looking for someone.” said a gruff voice.
The squib looked around the doorframe. She saw her father standing there. He had a heavy, rundown coat on over his normal clothes, his beard was tangled, and pink tinged his nose and cheeks from the cold weather outside. He was scowling, as if he didn’t like being in another’s presence.
He caught her gaze.
“Coralie!”
The girl pulled back behind the wall.
Mrs. Smith was about to say something but, she was pushed aside by the man entering her house.
“I daresay!” she said after him.
Charles Davids stormed into the kitchen. “Coralie Elizabeth Davids!” he yelled.
The girl backed into the table, moved aside, then bumped into Jaxon, who standing with his mouth half open.
“Charles!” said Mr. Smith, “What are you doing here?”
The girl’s father completely ignored the question, but advanced on his daughter.
“Have you been here the whole time? You should be back at the house, in the cellar, where you belong.” He said, his voice raising with every word.
“Davids!” cried Mr. Smith, “What are you doing?” he looked between the frightened girl and the towering man.
“You are coming home this instant!”
Coralie whimpered, and Jaxon moved protectively in front of her.
“I don’t think she wants to.” he said calmly.
“What did you say, boy?” Charles’s gaze turned on him.
“I said, I don’t think she wants to go with you.” He repeated.
“Who are you to say that?” he said.

“Why would she want to stay with you? I’ve seen the abuse you’ve done to her.”
Charles Davids seemed to be at a lost for words. The boy was about a head shorter than him, and much thinner. His father stood to the side, watching this exchange with a slight disapproving frown.
“Jaxon, don’t. You’ll only make it worse.” she whispered to him.
“I told you, I wouldn’t let him hurt you again.” he muttered back.
“You filthy squib.” he snarled at last, his eyes shifted back to his daughter cowering behind the boy.
“I knew I should have sent you to an orphanage the moment we found out you had no magical skills.”
“Mr. Davids.” said Mrs. Smith from the doorway behind him, “How could you say something like that?”
He continued to ignore the other two adults in the room.
“I let you stay in my house, and eat my food.” he continued.
“She’s your daughter, and you don’t take proper care of her.” Jaxon’s voice was now raising. “You beat her, and treat her like a servant! She doesn’t deserve that!”
“No, Jaxon, please stop.” the girl begged from behind him.
With out warning the man lunged at the two teenagers. Jaxon pushed Coralie aside, who fell onto the hardwood floor. The boy grabbed his wand off the counter, where he had left it before dinner, and shot a jinx at the man.
Charles dodged the spell and shot one back. It shattered a window above the sink, sending glass shards in every direction.
“No!” shouted Coralie, “Stop! Please!” Her efforts were fruitless and the two continued to fight. Glasses were blown apart, and the sink’s faucet was blown off. A fountain of water spewed from the hole and spread out of the floor.
The girl heard the light but frantic footsteps of Jaxon’s little sister. Her mum pulled her back into the hallway, out of danger, and tried to calm her down. Addy’s face was covered in tears as she saw what was happening.
Coralie was torn at the sight of the girl crying, and the boy fighting for her.
“STOP!”
The loud voice of Mr. Smith bellowed through the house. He had his wand pointing at Charles’s chest. He and Jaxon had the man in a corner. His wand had skitted on the ground underneath the table.
Mr. Smith dug in his breast pocket then pulled out what looked like a wallet. He flipped it open to the man. The man studied the license and ID in it.
“I work for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in the Ministry of Magic. You, Mr. Charles Smith, are under arrest for misuse of magical power and Child Abuse.”
Coralie’s father’s mouth fell partly open.
“Stay out of my family affairs.” he said sternly.
“You will be taken to Azkaban to await a trial with the Wizengamot.”
“What? You can’t do that.”
“Yes, actually, I can.” he replied curtly. He bent down to pick up the fallen wand.
The man made to reply but was cut short when Mr. Smith grabbed his arm and apparated him out of the kitchen.

Sorry I haven't been able to post in a while.
I've been kind of busy. Oh well, here's the next part!

Jaxon and his mother looked at the sixteen year old girl, rooted to the spot. She continued to stare at the point where her father had disappeared.
The broken faucet continued to spew water onto the floor; a large puddle was forming around the counter and the table. Sparkles of glass littered the floor and curtains hung askew.
“Coralie?”
The looked around at Jaxon, who had spoken.
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t want any of this to happen.” cried the girl. She buried her face in her hands.
“It’s alright.” he soothed. Coralie felt his arms wrap around her shoulders.
“I sh-should g-go.” she stuttered through her fingers.
The boy looked helplessly at his mother. Mrs. Smith pulled Addy back up the stairs. He heard them talking.
“I’ll walk you home.” he said quietly.
Coralie nodded, them let him guide her outside.

Most of the time, they walked in silence. Occasionally, Jaxon heard the squib crying, or even sobbing to herself. When they finally reached the run down house, he turned around to look directly at her face.
“Get some sleep.” he ordered, “Don’t tell your brothers anything that happened. They’ll find out soon enough. Be careful of what you say, and I’ll see you tomorrow.”
She nodded in response.
“And don’t worry about what happened back there. I’ll get it all cleaned up.” he forced a smile to reassure the girl. “Now go.”

Coralie ran up the yard and to the front door. She shoved it open, which creaked nosily on its hinges, then closed it behind her.
“Where’ve you been?” asked a harsh voice.
Carson and Christopher were sitting on the two overstuffed armchairs in front of a low lit fire. They were staring intently at her.
“Out.” she muttered.
“Out?” Christopher said mockingly. “Where’s father?”
“I dunno.”
“Where’d you get those clothes?” Carson questioned, “And why do you all of a sudden look, er, healthy.”
“It’s none of your business.” said Coralie.
“Yes it is.” he replied firmly.
“You’ve been with someone.” Observed Christopher, “was it those kids? The ones at the river?”
The girl ignored his last comment and made to head toward the cellar. On her way, she grabbed a lit candle sitting on a table.
“Hey! We were talking to you.” Coralie heard her brother yell after her.
“I don’t care!” she shouted back.
The girl heard a sudden uproar from the living room. The armchair skitted back a few inches as Carson stood up.
“What did you say?” he said.
Coralie swung open the door to the cellar, then quickly closed it before her bother could get to her.
“Just forget about it.” she heard Christopher say. Then under his breath, “filthy squib.”
The girl was standing at the top of the stairs, a candle in one hand, the doorknob in the other. Of course it wouldn’t do any good if they tried open it. The two boys were stronger than her, and just keeping her hand over the knob wouldn’t even make a difference.
Instead, she heard a click from behind the lock. Coralie stayed in the little circle of light from her candle, then, when she heard their footsteps subside, she tried to open the door.
It was locked.
The girl walked down the stone steps. She lit the other candle with the flame, then sat the one in the corner. She wanted as much light as possible. Underneath the bed, Coralie pulled out her mum’s journal. She flipped through some of the entries.
Sometime during the night, and without knowing it, the girl fell aslee

Thanks Emily! Here's the next part!

Jaxon walked back home in silence. He kicked the gravel every now and then, and bit his lip thoughtfully. What did he think of the girl? What did his parents think of the girl? Jaxon thought everything over. He had barely even known Coralie for a day, and he had already found himself liking her. More than liking her, in fact.
When he arrived back at his house, his mum was fixing the broken faucet.
“Addy’s off to bed.” she said with her back turned.
“Ok,” replied Jaxon. He didn’t know what he was replying to; he was deep in thought.
“Don’t worry about her, Jaxon. Everything will get cleaned up soon.”
“What gonna happen to him? To Mr. Davids?” he asked hesitantly.
“Well,” Mrs. Smith turned around to look at her son. Her hair was wet as well as the front of her apron. “You’ll have to ask your father about that. He’ll probably get a few years in Azkaban though.”
“And Coralie? She certainly can’t stay with her brothers.”
“I don’t know.” she said, “Wait ‘til your father gets home, then ask him. No go to sleep, it’s getting late.”
Without another word, the boy stumbled up the stairs.

Coralie didn’t know what time she woke up. The candles had burned out sometime ago, and the girl was left in pitch blackness. She stumbled out of bed, groped for her boots, then stood up and stretched.
For the past sixteen years, the cellar has served as her bedroom, so she knew everything well. She heard something clatter to the floor, and within a moment she realized it was the journal she had fallen asleep with. Dropping to the floor, she found the small, leather bound thing, then clutched it to her stomach as she walked up the steps. Coralie tried the door, but it was still locked.
A light glow was protruding from underneath the door. Coralie heard the voices of her brothers, and their footsteps.
It was good that the girl had a nice dinner the previous night. Who knows when her brother’s were finally going to let her out. She thought about yelling, but paused before she did anything.
It would be better if they didn’t know, she thought.
If Coralie’s brothers knew she was up, they would be quick to question her about the previous night’s events. She wasn’t ready for that yet.
Sliding down the door, she sat at the top of the stairs.
Who knows how many hours passed. The girl sat in silence, thinking. She stared into the darkness.
Everything that she had seen, had experienced, tumbled through her mind. What would she do now that her mother was dead and her father most likely in jail? She had no other living relatives, save for her brothers, and she definitely did not want them to become her legal guardians.
What about Jaxon?
The girl found herself daydreaming about the boy and his family. He was sweet to her. And he didn’t care about her being a squib. Coralie smiled. He accepted her, and she liked that about him.
Suddenly the door was opened and she toppled backwards onto the floor.

Here's the next part!

“What happened last night?” Carson growled at her. He pulled the girl to her feet. She stumbled momentarily then stood up straight.
“What are you talking about?” she asked in return.
“This,” he flaunted the morning’s Daily Prophet in her face.
Coralie took the paper from him and read the first page.
“He got arrested.” Carson said, “What do you know about this?”
“Nothing.” she shrugged calmly, handing him the paper back.
She pushed past him and walked into the kitchen. Christoper was sitting at the table. He had food on a plate in front of him.
“You missed breakfast.” said Christopher blankly.
“Well, I was stuck in there for so long. The door was locked.”
From behind her, Carson gestured to his brother.
“You look thirsty. Here, have some pumpkin juice.” he pushed a glass across the table.
Coralie hesitantly picked it up.
“Drink.” he ordered.
She bit her lip and stared at the liquid inside.

The two boys standing near her exchanged anxious glances. Christopher had been up all night trying to perfect the potion.
Veritaserum.
They knew at once, when Coralie had come home unscathed and clean, and their father never showed up, that something was wrong. She had told them nothing the previous night. They needed answers and they sweared they would do anything to get them. Coralie knew these answers, they guessed, and that she knew everything.
Of course by now they knew that their father was arrested, since it was the headline news in the paper. Carson had read the article several times. Certain words kept ringing in his head. ‘Child Abuse… Will serve one year in Azkaban… Nobody knew he had a daughter…
The boy shook his head. The article was about his sister and his father’s relationship.

After a minute Coralie realized the boys were still staring at her.
“No, thank you, I’m not thirsty.” she said, putting down the glass.
“Come on,” Christopher pleaded, picking up the glass yet again and handing it to her.
“I said I’m not thirsty.” she stated.
“Sure you are.” put in Carson.
The boy sent a glare at his brother.
Coralie looked between the two boys and her brow furrowed.
“Why is it so important?” she asked.
“We don’t want our dear sister to dehydrate.” said Carson from across the table.
Christopher sent a look that said, don’t push it.
Dear sister?” she scoffed
“Uh huh.” he said flatly, then added “We just wanted to let you know that we’re sorry for everything.” he pushed the plate of food towards her.
“Yeah, right.” said Coralie.
“Honest. Isn’t that right, Carson.”
The boy stared at his sister then said painfully, “Yeah.”
The girl was still looking between the boys. She didn’t trust them. She’s never trusted them.
Suddenly, and quite forcefully, her brother grabbed her arm and tipped it up. The girl sputtered and coughed as she was made to drink the pumpkin juice. The glass dropped and broke when she doubled over, almost choking.
“Finally.” sighed Carson.

Not even a mile away, Jaxon was reading the same headline. He sat at the kitchen table, staring at the that page of the Daily Prophet, for over fifteen minutes now.
The kitchen was back in it’s place. Everything that was broken was repaired and the sink was fixed and working again. As usual, his mother was bustling around the stove and refrigerater, cooking. Addy was up in her room, playing with her dolls, and his father was still at work.
Mr. Smith had been home momentarily. All he needed was some things for work. Jaxon took the two precious minutes to ask him everything he could.
‘What’s going to happen to Mr. Davids?’
‘I don’t know Jaxon, I’m working on it.’
‘Well, what’s going to happen to Coralie?’
‘Jaxon, I don’t know.’ he had said exasperatedly.
‘Is he going to go to Azkaban?’
‘Maybe.’ he replied.
‘Is she-?’
Jaxon!’ he finally said, ‘I’ll tell you when I know.’
With that he had apparated out of the house.
He wasn’t able to ask much, but now with the Prophet out, he was able to get some of the answers.
Sighing, and putting the paper down, Jaxon leaned on his elbows and stared at the opposite wall.

Here's the next part!

“Don’t you feel better?” taunted Christopher. He pushed his sister into one of the table chairs. She sat down, a hand over her mouth; She was still coughing loudly.
“No.” she was finally able to stutter.
“You know what happened to father last night. Tell us everything.”
Christopher moved closer to Coralie. He stood directly over her, and she tried to look up at him innocently.
“He got arrested.” she said, finally able to speak correctly.
“Who arrested him?” Carson asked.
“Mr. Smith.” Coralie replied.
“Who?” said Christopher.
“He’s our neighbor.” the girl responded obediently.
The two brothers exchanged looks.
“Tell us everything.” Carson repeated Christopher’s earlier words.
The squib bit her lip, but she couldn’t stop herself from talking.
“I was walking with Jaxon-,”
“Who?” asked Christopher again.
“The boy from the river, and he took me to his house.”
“He what?!” yelped the boy.
“Shut up, Chris. Let the girl finish. Besides, we can ask her anything we want.” he smirked, “Keep going.” he added.
“Jaxon took me to his house. He gave me these clothes and healed most of my wounds. I met his family and had dinner there.”
“Then,” persisted the oldest brother.
“Then father showed up. He was yelling at me, and Jaxon tried to defend me-”
“Why would he do that?”
“I don’t know.” Coralie said truthfully.
“Keep going.” said Carson again, but more impatiently.
“Mr. Smith jumped in and stopped the fight. He arrested father for misuse of magic and child abuse.”
“Do any of them know you’re a squib?”
“I told Jaxon yesterday, and father called me that in front of the rest of the family.”
“Great… that’s just great.” Christopher leaned back against the table, which creaked under his weight.
“So a few people know we have a sister that’s a squib. What’s wrong with that?” said Carson.
“The dad works for the Ministry! If he heard father call Coralie a squib… Anyway, he’s going to tell everyone about her."
"He already has." she said flatly, gesturing towards the paper on the table.
“Yes, but reporters for the Prophet could be showing up any minute! What are we going to do?”
“I don’t know-”
There was a knock on the front door.
“It’s them.” Hissed Christopher, “Answer the door.”
“Why don’t you?” he asked back.
“You’re older.”
Carson glared at his younger brother then headed to get the door. Christopher roughly grabbed his sister and pulled her out of sight from the door.
“Let go of me!” she yelled.
“Shut up!” he whispered to her. He clamped a hand over her mouth and she fell quiet.
Carson walked to the door, breathed deeply, then opened it. He was expecting a bunch of people there, but it was only one person.

“Um, is Coralie here?” asked the boy quietly.
“Are you Jaxon?” he asked back.
“Yes.” he muttered quietly. He looked over the person holding open the door. He was a year older than him, and half a head taller than him.
“She’s not here right now.” Coralie’s brother replied.
Jaxon tried to look past him, but he changed his position to block his view.

In another room, Coralie was struggling against her brother’s grip. He tightened his hold on her. The girl heard Jaxon’s familiar voice and tried to speak out, but she couldn’t.
“Well, where is she?” he asked
“She’s busy.” Carson replied curtly.
“I asked where is she.” he smarted.
“It’s none of your business.” he said flatly.
The girl was still struggling against her brother.
“Hold still.” he snarled.
“No.” Coralie was able to throw her brother off of her. He fell back and knocked over a table. It fell with a loud crash and sent wood and books everywhere.
“Coralie!” he shouted after her.

Jaxon and the squib’s brother heard the crash. The boy turned around to look back into the house and, unconsciously, he moved aside. Jaxon was able to see the hallway behind him. He saw the girl dart around a bunch of boxes and objects and her angry brother chasing after her.
