Once you've given The Fat Lady the correct password, you'll enter the Gryffindor common room. On one side of the room is the game corner. At the back of the room are two spiral staircases leading to the dormitories: boys to the left, girls to the right. Two lion statues sit on either side of each staircase. Don't forget to give them a pat before heading to bed; you're sure to get a roar or a purr in return!
The circular space is decorated in the signature Gryffindor colors of scarlet and gold, and there are plenty of plush armchairs, sofas, and beanbags for lounging. The room's most prominent feature is a fireplace; over its mantel hangs a portrait of a lion. A large portrait of the house's founder Godric Gryffindor adorns the back wall. Several other tapestries and paintings depicting animals and famous Gryffindor alumni decorate the walls - who knows? You may even find some of the famous Harry Potter himself! There are also a few tables in quieter spaces where you can study, read, or write to your hearts content. There's also a plaque and a bulletin board on one side of the room. Don't forget to read up on important announcements!
This room is your home away from home during your time here at Hogwarts. So, relax, take a load off!

He'd been PROPER disappointed when the Headmaster caught up to him after the feast. If nothing else, he'd put a damper on what he assumed would be the most epic of plans--not that the boy was deterred. At most, the plans had been postponed until this night, the night after. Friday night. Everyone knew that you needed to have raging Fridays and with his books tossed and dinner had, Kodee waited for those who'd been interested in the plan.
The 7th year sprawled lazily before the fireplace, going over every inch of the epicness that was about to unfold. He hadn't seen Lucas since dinner but he'd have to find him before they set out. For now, he'd simply wait for the others to arrive.
Was it a full moon tonight? That might jeopardize things some...but it could be useful, too, in case some of the kids couldn't cast light yet.
Eh, he was sure it'd work itself out. Merlin knew he wasn't gonna put too much thought into it. That ruined all the fun.

Always a thrill-seeker, Cordelia wasn’t going to miss out on whatever fun adventure Kodee had been plotting at the feast. Nothing could beat the thrill of chasing the snitch in a quidditch match, but the prospect of an epic adventure sounded pretty fun. It was weird how the seeker position was called seeker while chaser was a completely different position when most of what the seeker did was chasing the snitch. Finding it was the easy part. Eh, the specific reasons for the naming of each position weren’t something that she wanted to dwell on. She would rather be out on the quidditch pitch than debating what each position should really be called. Now to the matter at hand: an adventure. ”Kodee,” she nodded at the older boy as she took a seat on one of the sofas. ”What’s the plan?”

Simran had ditched her saree for some more comfy sportwear because they were getting ready to SWEAT. Yes, she even had the headband that had people giving her weird looks every time she organised a lesson involving physical activity. Was this headband a sign of oncoming doom? Yes, most likely.
Marching in step behind her were mops and brooms of all colours and sizes, with pails containing other cleaning utensils sailing alongside them. It was a veritable regiment. "Squad, HALT!"
Oh, how she loved theatrics. And the theatre.
And cleaning. Which was the order of business today, of course. "Master Chosen, Miss Winklebleck," she said, smiling. "If you would be so kind as to get the students in the dorms to come downstairs, we've got some work to do."
"As the Headmaster mentioned last night, the castle has fallen into a fair bit of disrepair. We've done what we could in the few days we had before your arrival, which is why the dorms were clean, but the common room... well. Let's just say the common room needs help."
"We're going to split into teams. Team one will be sweeping, team two will beat out the rugs, and team three will take out the cobwebs and do the dusting. You may use magic, but the common room is a little magically... temperamental, after all this neglect, and I really wouldn't recommend it." But, y'know, if they really wanted to have their spells backfire, she'd be there.
It was friday night and Cole was eager to have some fun. Whatever Kodee's plan was he had a feeling it could be fun and adventurous. Clad in sportswear under his Lion sweater he trudged down into the common room. He stopped to stare a bit shocked at the sight of Professor Sandhu in something other than what Cole in his head saw as 'professor' wear. Blinking he then noticed the mops, brooms and other cleaning utensils. "Good evening Professor Sandhu, Kodee and Cordelia! We're starting a cleaning club?" he greeted cheerily, before going over to take a seat on a vacant sofa. It looked like they we're going to be cleaning up the Gryffindor Tower.

Carsyn was here because she wanted to prove she wasn't out to snitch on her fellow Lions. She didn't know why, but somehow she got the feeling like Kodee Chosen thought she was a goody-two-shoes and she did NOT want that name on her record. Yes she wanted to be a good prefect, sure, but did that mean always following the rules? Did that mean she couldn't get involved in some light, harmless pranking of the ickle baby lions? Carsyn liked to think not.
Except upon arriving to the fireplace, she frowned at seeing their head of house there talking about ... cleaning??? HUH?
"I didn't tell her." Carsyn said automatically at the seventh year. Which was kinda basically telling her something was up right now. Oops?

Rylee had just completed a 'check in' via mirror call to one of her Healers before heading down to the common room. Having heard about Kodee's plan the previous day she was all for taking part in a bit of fun. Sure she had to be more careful than she normally would have to be BUT this was her final term after all.
She had fully expected to see Kodee and several of their house mates but what she hadn't been prepared for was seeing Professor Sandhu standing there. Especially not with a ton of mops, brooms and cleaning supplies. Oh, Merlin. This wasn't going to go as planned it seemed.
While she hadn't heard everything that Sandhu had said before she had come down from the dorms, she did have enough sense to see that they were going to be cleaning. "Good evening, Professor," she smiled slightly taking a seat on one of the arm chairs to await instructions. "Kodee, Cordelia, Cole, Carsyn." She gave them each a slight nod.

Cordelia’s eyes widened as their head of house entered the common room wearing what looked to be some sort of exercise outfit. Why was that woman dressed for exercise? The professor was so old that Cordelia was sure the woman would drop dead at any moment. Somehow Professor Sandhu still managed to be lively and entertaining though. How Sandhu managed it all was beyond her. Cordelia gave Kodee a what do we do now sort of questioning look. This was most definitely NOT part of the plan. Her mouth dropped open as she gaped at the army of cleaning supplies marching in with the professor. Did the professor really just call them a squad? ”Hello, professor,” she managed to regain her composure enough to form coherent words. ”Yes, of course.” Begrudgingly, Cordelia went upstairs to the girls dorms and shouted to each of the rooms, ”Cleaning party with Professor Sandhu in the common room now! Be there or be fed to the giant squid!” Once she was satisfied that everyone in the dorms must have heard her shouting, Cordelia headed back down to the common room to await their fate.
More people were arriving by the time Cordelia was back downstairs. ”Hello, Cole,” she smiled at the older boy. ”Not so much of a club as mandatory group chore time, I’m afraid.” Cordelia eyed Carsyn suspiciously when the prefect said that she hadn’t told the professor. ”Yeah, well now you have. Thanks a lot, Carsyn.” There was a sarcastic tone in her voice as she spoke to the prefect. Now the professor was sure to ask what was up. ”Hi Rylee!” Cordelia smiled at her friend.
She listened to the long list of chores that needed to be done in the common room. Oh no. This was a school for magic, why would they not be able to use magic? She was at least going to attempt a cleaning spell and see what happened before she resigned herself to cleaning with no magic. Cordelia had spent the end of her summer cleaning when she was grounded and there was no way she was going to keep cleaning things by hand all year here. Had Lorelai Stemp managed to get the headmaster to specifically target her with cleaning duties? Why couldn’t the house elves magic the whole castle clean? That question had, of course, already been addressed by the headmaster but Cordelia was still sure that this was some form of punishment. ”I volunteer for dusting.” Dusting seemed like a relatively easy task. Should be able to get it done with a few simple cleaning spells.

It didn’t take much waiting before his housemates began to arrive and it prompted the boy into a sitting position on the couch. “Hey, Cordelia. Gonna wait for the others then...I’ll....go over the....” Kodee’s sentence slowly came to a halt as their Head of House walked into the common room clad with brooms and buckets and words he didn’t care for. His first thought had honestly been WHO SNITCHED?? But her words quickly cleared that up before he could incriminate himself.
They....were cleaning.
Now? Right this second when they had far better things to do?? Talk about shoddy timing. Kodee frowned in the general direction of the brooms, wondering how long it would take for the woman to leave. He liked Sandhu, but doubted she’d be down for their plans.
Kodee shot Cordelia a look that said he’d handle things in response to her own questioning one.
He’d been about to greet Cole and Carsyn with subtle hints that there was a problem when Carsyn...said that and had his eyes widening. “Of course you didn’t tell her because there’s nothing to tell.” He reminded between gritted teeth. Nope. No plans. “The Professor is here so we can get some cleaning done.” Then leave, preferably.
“Hey, Ry. Get your wand out.” He looked to the others now gathered. “Everybody. What’s a few explosions if we get this place cleaned faster?” And BESIDES, Sandhu didn’t say something bad would happen. She said it COULD. Big difference. The boy was willing to take that bet. “No worries, Professor. You leave this place to us, go get yourself some tea. Kick your feet up in your office and rest assured we’ve got this. Even got Carsyn to keep us on track like the good Prefect she is.” Nothing to worry about. Nothing to supervise. The moon would be up soon. They were wasting time.
“I’ll go get the blokes from the dorms. Everything’s covered.”

Stumbling into the room after finally getting the word right, because that fat lady in the portrait was MEAN when you weren't sensitive to her moods, Bernie fell onto a nearby couch to catch her breath. Of course, her sitting accidentally blew some dust up and over Cole, who was also on the couch. "Sorry," she wheezed, noticing all the brooms and mops and their head of house of course. "What's all this now? Shouldn't we just... hire some more house elves till we're up and running again??"
WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THEM, then? To look like Baby Yodas cute but not clean?!?!

Lucas had been up in his dorm, trying to avoid Kodee Chosen doing some reading for class when he heard...... a voice? A voice that had shouted something and sounded a lot like....... Sandhu??? It couldn’t be, right? Shrugging, he chose to go back to the book, trying to focus as much as possible on the writing on these pages.
........ Or not.
They were being summoned? Did someone do something dangerous? Was this a good time to start panicking? Tossing his book aside, Lucas wasted no time in jogging down the stairs and into the common room, all the while mentally chanting ‘oh merlin oh merlin’. There were a lot of people gathered there, but most surprising of all was to see Sandhu standing there. And even more surprising was to see a bunch of cleaning supplies surrounding her.
Uh???
Cleaning? They were cleaning?!
The boy looked up and around him at the common room itself. Did he know how to feel about this? Not really. He had no opinion about the cleaning, not when he helped his mum at home. But if it meant that Kodee couldn’t go ahead with his plans then....... maybe he could be a bit enthusiastic about it. Maybe.
"Uh, I could help Cordelia with dusting." Being a lanky boy might just help him in this situation.
