The afternoon of the 2nd of November was proving to be a very windy one. Haraldur and Laurel stood by the Great Lake, sand sacks at their feet, ready to begin the lesson. Haraldur constantly straightened up the feathers he wore but they continued to change position due to the hard wind. Eventually he gave up and squinted, glancing up towards the castle to spot the arriving students. He took a glance at his colleague Laurel, wearing a green coat that billowed around her in the wind. She seemed to struggle in the wind as well and kept pushing it down but eventually gave up on the cap that blew away and found a new home in the Whomping Willow.
The Flying Instructor had, as usual, brought school brooms and a trunk of equipment necessary for today's lesson, not to mention the special prize for the lucky winner.
Haraldur spotted a group of students and looked over at Laurel, just to double-check they were all good to go. Once the students were close enough, he picked up a bag containing Fleetwood's Handle Polish and Tail-Twig Clippers. "Afternoon, kids, good afternoon!" He boomed, rattling the bag. "Everyone grab a Handle Polish and some Clippers and begin to prepare your broom for today's lesson." He handed them out as students arrived and also gestured to the rack of school brooms provided for those who didn't bring their own. "If any of our younger students are unsure on how to use these, I'm sure our student leaders don't mind helping out. Come along, come along!"
No need to shuffle their feet getting from the castle to the Lake. The lesson would begin shortly.

A joint flying and divination lesson? Vi was excited about the divination aspect but flying..... Erm... She wasn't too confident about that. No offense, Mr. Baldvinsson. It wasn't that she didn't care for flying- it was that... she didn't particularly enjoy it. She was much better at flying than she had been in her fourth year but still... Flying, couldn't be so bad? Though with her very own broom in her hand, she headed down to the Lake. Windy, it was.
"Good afternoon Mr. Baldvinsson and Professor Vance! How are you?" she asked as she grabbed a Handle polish and some clippers. She winced when the wind blew her hair out of the loose bun. Well now her hair was just everywhere. Thank Merlin that she had an extra hair tie. She'd put up her hair later.
Taking a seat on the ground and dropping her bag, she focused her attentions on her broom and giving it a nice trim. Broom maintenance was a must after all.

She never went to flying lesson, never, she always got out of it somehow. Unlike the bats, everyone knew she was terrified of flying and heights. So when she saw that it was a joint lesson with one of her better classes. How was she going to get out of this? There was no way she was getting on a broom and the groundskeeper could just deal with it.
Her disdain for the subject could not be hidden when he was passing out things to use on the brooms. These were foreign objects to her and she was miserable already. "Professor, I don't do this stuff with brooms because I do not fly." She won't be flying either. There was no way her feet were leaving the ground ever. Plus he wanted her to clip and polish things that were not her nails?
Not going to happen, there was no way her polish would be chipped up for that polish. Where was a cute boy that could help her?

Bothersome weather this was. Wind that threatened to sweep you away, nippy temperature that had required the application of a warming charm. Jessa paid only enough attention to ensure none of her claw babies were being swept away, ready to handle it if that was the case but doubted it given the winds weren’t THAT strong. That, however, was about the only attention she had given.
Under normal circumstances, Jessa would’ve spent the walk over trying to imagine how anyone would fly with winds like this, thinking of those less adept at broom handling but not today. Not since Professor Noble had busted into her lab and torn down everything.
Despite the week at home following the incident, the Ravenclaw still hadn’t quite recovered. The spark of wonder that usually resided in her eyes was gone, in fact she seemed completely out of it; only half here at most. It was hard losing what you’d spent nearly 3 years building up, even harder when the Professor never told you why and the sense of loss was hard to shake. There was now a large hole and Jessa hadn’t the faintest idea how to fill it. Without her lab and her research, the Ravenclaw didn’t know what to do anymore and she didn’t know who she was. The little control she felt she’d gained over her life had been shattered and while her trip home had helped to alleviate most of that, she still found it hard to be excited about.....anything really. There was a hollow sort of feeling and she didn’t suspect it would be leaving any time soon.
”Good afternoon Professor Vance, Professor Baldvinsson.” Her voice was barely audible over the sound of the whistling wind but the 15 year old simply didn’t have it in her to be any louder. She felt defeated in every sense of the word.
Not feeling a need to add anything else, Jessa simply took a broom, a set of clippers and some handle polish then took a seat to the edge of the gathering of students further toward what would soon be the back once more and more students arrived. Silently and without much vigor, the Ravenclaw applied the polish and began rubbing it in.

It was time!!! Flying class, the one thing she was good at besides Muggle Studies. If only it wasn’t combined with Divination. A class she wasn’t so hot at. She eagerly skipped to the lesson and spotted the teachers. “Hellooooo” Her sing song greeting carrying far with the wind on her way to pick out a broom. She instinctively wrapped her robes tighter around her little body, hoping to hold some of the cold out.
She couldn’t wait until she had her very own broom. Not that the school brooms were horrible, they were the only brooms she had ever flown on. However, after seeing the amazing brooms her older housemates had for quidditch, she had her heart set on an upgrade. She was even trying to figure out ways to earn money to purchase her very own broom in the summer.
She collected some handle polish and clippers, then took a seat by the sand. Emmalyn realized that she had never done any broom maintenance, the quidditch brooms were always ready to go. “Would someone please show me how to do this?” She was glancing around, hoping to find a kind older student who wouldn’t tease her for not knowing how. It was a bit embarrassing considering all of the time she spent on a broom at practice.

Hoowhee its gonna be fun flying today...
Tenacius trotted down to the lake, bundled up more than usual with extra warming charms to boot, since that wind chill sure aint joking around. And to think they havent even gotten up in the air yet.
"Goodafternoon Professor Vance, Professor Haraldur." the Curly Top smiled warmly despite the temperatures, his broom tucked carefully under his arm. It was new and he always kept his brooms well taken cared of, but he took a polish and the clippers anyway, just in case they were doing some kind of session for those today.
And then he spotted ze girlfriend. He knew Vi wasnt much a fan of flying, and the conditions today are really gonna test some people's limits. He nudged her as he took a seat next to her, trying to see how she was coping.

Patrick walked onto the fieldpitch. Ah fresh air. Cold, but fresh. he was really wondering what this joint lesson was going to feel like. I mean divination and flying just didn't seem like a very normal combination. Taking note of who else was already down for the lesson.
Professor spoke up about what they were supposed to do for prepping for class and nodded his head. "Hi Professor Vance, Professor Haraldur." With sure steps he grabbed his broom, the handle wax and the clippers. Sitting his butt in the grass near the sand he began o care for his broom just like he was supposed to.
Okay, what, exactly, did Divination and Flying have in common? Flying was physical education, it was practical. Divination...not so much. And would Professor Vance still be mad at Night for what she said in the nail lesson? Well, no time to worry about it now.
Night selected a broom from the box (something called a Nimbus 2000, but she had no idea what that meant, it just looked well-made), chose some polish and clippers, and nodded hello to the professors, glad that this class was in the afternoon instead of the morning. Well, at least she was good enough at divination, even if she had no appreciation for the subject. Flying, well, she was terrible at all things that required movement and agility, so that would be a little bit harder.

A joint lesson? Divination and flying? Personally, he failed to see what the two could possibly have in common. He also felt incredibly conflicted. Flying was not his cup of tea whatsoever and had it not been a joint lesson, he would've skipped this lesson.
He wasn't going to miss an opportunity to gaze at Professor Vance however.
When he overheard Zita, Maxton boldly raised his arm. "I don't fly either, Professor." And he wasn't about to start now either.

Well hello Maxton, Zita turned hearing his voice and words. Giving the fellow fourth year Slytherin a very big smile she moved closer to him maybe they could do something together that kept them on the ground. That would be very much appreciated and maybe she could flirt with him enough to get him to do whatever this was they were to do right now.
Had he gotten this polish stuff too? Maybe it could give the twigs a different color like polish for your nails. Not being someone that was every truly around brooms she knew what polish was, but one could dream it could be more than just stupid gloss look for the broom. Why not just say top coat, why polish?
Looking to Maxton she leaned closer to whisper, "Thanks for speaking up. I'll owe you." Her grin was playful and showed just a hint of flirting in her tone.

In her opinion, it was way too windy to be having a flying lesson, but that hadn’t stopped Stasya from making her way out to the pitch. Slowly. Plus, she was wondering if she could use the wind as an excuse for not actually getting to the lesson, as in, the wind kept pushing her away from the actual entrance. For once, she really didn’t like being so tall for her age, but she was determined. The wind wouldn’t stop her from getting there.
At least the twin braids she’d managed to get her hair into kept that from flying around too much, provided her pink knitted cap stayed tightly on her head. That and she was hoping her heating charms on herself didn’t fail because of course the wind was freezing. It was cold and she wasn’t entirely sure how Divination fit with flying.
Finally managing to get there, she immediately plopped down on the ground once she’d retrieved a school broom and the equipment needed to prepare it for the flying she was still unsure about, even though she gave both professors a smile. “Good afternoon Professor Vance. Góðan daginn Professor Baldvinsson.” There was a reason she stuck with Gobstones, and hadn’t tried out for Quidditch.

Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope. Why combine Divination with Flying? The two made zero sense together. Also, Ronan wasn't a flyer, he preferred the muggle way of air travel. That's right, you were more likely to find him on an airplane than a broom.
"Hello Professors Vance and Baldvinsson. Add my name to the 'no fly' list. Not on brooms anyway." Somebody should inform Hogwarts as a whole that just because you're a witch or wizard, it didn't mean you absolutely had to do the broom thing. "Besides, witches and wizards on brooms is so cliche." Whoops, hadn't meant to let that last bit out. But it was true. "I mean, it's fine if you actually want to do it, but I don't think it's very fair to trick us into do doing it by combining it with another class." Just his two cents, since that cliche thing was out there already.

Zarina saw there was a flying lesson and divination lesson combined together. Count this slytherin in. As she approached the lesson on the grounds, she felt the wind whipping her face and robes. Man she should have worn gloves. She could feel her fingers get frost bitten. She warmed them up with her hands. Wait a minute. She was a witch. Why was she being such a muggle about this. She took her wand out and said, "ACCIO GLOVES." and the gloves zoomed right into her hands. Aahhh perfect. She felt warmer putting them on her hands. She buttoned her cloak near her neck to block out the cold.
As she finally got to the grounds, she saw the two professors and she nodded towards them. "Hello Professors. I am excited to fly in this lesson." Then she went to get her broom and went to clean it and get the handle polish and clippers. She saw some of the first years come and she was impressed. When she was a first year she wouldn't go near a broom, she was afraid but once her brother showed her there is nothing to fear, from then on Zae was addicted to the feel of flying. She couldn't wait for the lesson despite the bitter cold.

FLYING. Aka the only lesson she was actually good at. And DIVINATION. Aka the only lesson she was pretend good at.
So of course Zoryn didn't mind the fact that they were mushed together, though she would've preferred if it was something like history & muggle studies together instead. 'Cause then you could kill two fwoopers with one stone and get the awful lessons done at the same time in one unbearable lesson instead of two. But she wasn't about to complain here 'cause flying and divinations was all good with her. Mhm.
The Gryffindor BEAMED at her flying instructor as she approached with broom over her shoulder (he was a good man and made her Captain so he deserved love). "Sup, Mr. B!?!!? Great day to FLY!!" Despite the wind. Though as far as Zoryn was concerned, EVERYDAY was a good day to fly. "Hi Professor Vance." Would it be a bad idea to tell them that she hoped this lesson would be mostly flying? Yeah? Maybe?
She smiled at both of them one more time before grabbing a pair of clippers and some handle polish and settling somewhere in the crowd. While she was polishing her broom's handle, she heard the Hufflepuff's (Emmalyn's) cry for help and being the SUPER GENEROUS person that she is, Zoryn walked over to the girl. "I can help!" She SMILED. See she was wearing a badge, she KNEW things about brooms. MHM. "D'you see how I'm putting the polish on? You gotta use the polish in small amounts so that your broom doesn't get all slippy when you fly," Zor showed her the scoop she had gotten for her broom to demonstrate. They could clip 'em next.

Divination and flying!? Okay so like her classmates, Skylar may have been curious about how the subjects intertwined and yet if she were being honest, ANY subject could probably be combined. Even if it was the smallest of ways.
She did happen to catch Ronan speaking about tricking them into flying and was rather amused. Um noone said anything about flying; they were just doing broomcare right now so relax? Surely flying may have been inevitable but they weren't doing that right now so just take the lesson in stride?
Also she kind of groomed her Bluebottle like every other day so it seemed redundant to check for stray twigs again. And polishing she didn't do but once a week, maybe less, because she didn't want a slippery handle while flying. Falling off a broom due to a bludger was one thing, but falling off due to excessive polishing was another. But she was more than happy to show you non-flyers about broomcare. "Hello Professors!" Skylar greeted; also perhaps THIS was a divining method she could be on board with if it involved flying.
"I can help whoever," she said, approaching and eying her two baby fourth year snakes - Max and Zita. Max, whom she was lowkey disappointed she couldn't convince him to tryout. She had tried, Daisyface, thoroughly tried. But apparently stubbornness was a trait he inherited. Perhaps this lesson could convince him flying wasn't bad and she could have a Carden next year?

Vi overheard a younger year asking for help. She was about to offer when Zoryn came into help. She smiled. Yes, that was probably much better, considering that Zoryn was a Quidditcvh Captain and knew brooms and all that stuff much better than she did. Instead she kept her head down and focused on tidying up her broom a little bit here and there. The breeze came by and swept her hair up into a frenzy, loosening her ponytail with every push. She shivered. Yeah today wasn't going to be the best day for flying.
She finally looked up when someone nudged her. Etta? Ace perhaps? Or Skylar even? Vi glanced up and found Ace there. She offered him a small smile before leaning her head gently on his shoulder and her hands found a way into his. "Hey... Little nerve-wracking, isn't it?" she spoke softly. "Too windy..." Way too windy for her. Flying seemed a little.... intense.
The blonde glanced up to see Skylar walking over and offering to help anyone.

Flying and Divination. Together. In a lesson. Uh...
Rylee wasn't to sure how she felt about this joined lesson. Flying was most definitely her thing but Divination, well she struggled a little bit there. This was no doubt going to be very interesting that much was for sure. So dressed as warmly as she could be without over dressing, hair tied back tightly into a braid and her Moonbrusher broom that she had sent to her from home in hand she made her way out onto the grounds.
"Good afternoon, professors!" she greeted with her usual bright smile and a cheery wave. As she collected a container of polish and some clippers she paused for just a second near Baldvinsson to show him that she had managed to get her own broom sent to her like she had said she would. Before she left at the end of the lesson she would ask about the permission slip he had told her he'd bring.
Plunking herself down on a bit of grass, Ry got to work right away on polishing the handle of her broom with great care. She was taking her time in making sure it was done correctly. All her attention was on caring for her broom and making sure it was in the best riding order.

Alyce was pretty excited with the joint lesson. Her two favorite subjects combined together. That's pretty awesome. But unfortunately the weather was not that awesome. It's too windy. But that didn't prevent her to attend the lesson. It's a perfect time to try the gift she got from Nathan. She had some trouble with her coat, thanks to the wind, as she made her way to the grounds.
"Hello, Professor Vance and Professor Baldvinsson. How are you doing today?" She greeted them before she went to grab a Handle Polish and some Clippers.

Boy was it windy out today. Aaron did not like that. The poor boy was practically being tossed around by the strong gusts that would glide through the air. And they all had to fly in these conditions too? Well this sure was going to be rather interesting. Trying not to fall over, Aaron meandered over to the meeting area for the joint lesson of Flying and Divination. Although it was hard to see because of the scarf wrapped tightly around his neck and covering the lower portion of his mouth as well, a smile was on the kid's lips.
Upon arrival at the destination, Valentino had let out a muffled "Good morning Professors! How are you two doing on this...somewhat lovely day." Always optimistic about everything, Aaron was thankful that the sun was shining high in the sky and the only bad part was the wind being how it was. If it were your usual, nice, cool, and gentle fall breeze, the young Slytherin wouldn't have minded it; but since it had the force to knock him around if he was off balance, it was an entirely different story.
Grabbing the things needed, Aaron found a cozy little spot to sit down and prepare the broom.
FLYING. Aka the only lesson she was actually good at. And DIVINATION. Aka the only lesson she was pretend good at.

You gotta use the polish in small amounts so that your broom doesn't get all slippy when you fly," Zor showed her the scoop she had gotten for her broom to demonstrate. They could clip 'em next.
Thankful for some help, but embarrassed it was from another teams quidditch captain, Emmalyn graciously followed her instructions. She nervously wondered what her team members would say when the found out. Ugh, and it would probably give the Gryffindor's something to tease her about during their next match.
She followed Zoryn's example and took a little bit of polish to rub on her broom handle. Just a enough to cover, but not enough to make it too slippery. Slippery broom plus a windy day could spell disaster for the young Hufflepuff. She had taken to flying quite easily, but she wasn't nearly as experienced as most of the other team players. She had been lucky thus far to have very cooperative weather for all of her flying.
"Does that look like enough?" She questioned as she finished the last few inches of handle. It did look much nicer than when she started and she could feel the smooth surface glide under her fingers. Emmalyn picked up a rag to wipe off her hands before eyeing the clippers. Now those were more worrisome. One poor clip could change how the broom flies. "How do I know which to clip and which to leave alone?" She eyed the Gryffindor, sizing up how honest she would be. It would be the perfect opportunity for Zoryn to lead her astray and cause future flying problems for her, without anyone knowing.

”Mr. Dooley, good afternoon to you!” Haraldur rattled his bag for the young Snake to grab his polish and clippers and watched him take a seat before looking over at some more arrivals.

Haraldur nodded as the young Hufflepuff grabbed a school broom. ”Good afternoon, Miss Dixon.” He said before his attention was drawn towards an older Slytherin.

When he overheard Zita, Maxton boldly raised his arm. "I don't fly either, Professor." And he wasn't about to start now either.
Haraldur smiled at the young boy. ”What a great day to start then, Mr. Carden, since this is in fact a flying lesson.” He was AMUSED. He tossed a polish and clippers towards the boy and nodded at the school brooms. He could begin at any time.

Instantly, Haraldur shone up. He shifted his weight from one foot to another awaiting the young Lion to get closer. ”Góðan daginn, Dalgaard-Volkova.” He said, uttering the Icelandic greeting phrase with pride.

‘No fly’-list? Haraldur gave the boy a look. There was no such list. What in the world were the kids up to these days? ”Mr. Carter.” His voice stern. ”You have attended a flying class. There will be flying in this class, if you wish not to attend, I’m sure you could speak to Mr. Marchand, your Head of House to be excused, or to the Headmistress on flying being taught as a subject at all here at school. As of right now, I expect you to attend and show respect and sportsmanship.”
He didn’t like to use his stern voice, but he also didn’t approve of disrespect. If they did not wish to fly, they were welcome to leave the class.
Adding under his breath, since his passion for flying was now wounded, he grumbled: ”And flying is not cliché.” ALL THE COOL KIDS DID IT?!

As she finally got to the grounds, she saw the two professors and she nodded towards them. "Hello Professors. I am excited to fly in this lesson." So of course Zoryn didn't mind the fact that they were mushed together, though she would've preferred if it was something like history & muggle studies together instead.
And here was another one. Haraldur smiled at the Gryffindor Captain. ”Miss Spinnet, always a great day for flying, is it not?” TRUE dat.
Hopefully, her positive attitude would spread to the other students.

And ANOTHER one. His heart was all kinds of warm. With pride he watched his Captains of Gryffindor and Slytherin help out some other students.
”Miss Diggory, welcome to flying class!” He beamed at her.

Haraldur smiled at the young girl. ”Miss Prichard.” He said warmly. ”Good afternoon to you.” Because it WAS.

Another positive soul. Haraldur gave the boy a nod. ”Good afternoon! I'm doing well, young sir. Please have a seat.” He watched him pluck down on the ground with his polish.
Haraldur took one glance up towards the castle to see if any students were still on the way. He looked over his shoulder and raised an eyebrow at Laurel.
You good to go there, Missy?
He was getting restless and it was time to start.
OOC: *squishes you all* <3 Eva will start this lesson shortly (like... right now) I just wanted to say hi to you all because omg HI YOU <3
A joint flying and divination lesson?
The first student to arrive to the meeting point was Olivia Holden with her broom in hand. The lioness prefect seemed to be oozing with excitement and that was a good omen for the lesson. "Good afternoon Olivia, I'm good thank you. How are you?" Laurel greeted with a smile pursing her lips.

Jessa Cambridge came down after uncharacteristically quiet and mellow. Laurel wondered what was clouding the eagle prefect's mood. Hopefully it'd become happier as the lesson got going. "Good afternoon Jessa!" Laurel greeted, with a kind nod and a wave.

She instinctively wrapped her robes tighter around her little body, hoping to hold some of the cold out.
Emmalyn followed, the young badger girl that had impressed her so far in Divination classes. Laurel flashed the first year a warm beam. "Hello Emmalyn!" Pulling her coat tighter she wondered if the november storm that had been warned for was going to come too early.

It was new and he always kept his brooms well taken cared of, but he took a polish and the clippers anyway, just in case they were doing some kind of session for those today.
Tenacious slipped in, took a broom care kit before going over to take a seat next to his girlfriend Olivia on the sand. "Good afternoon Tenacious!" Laurel greeted the lion prefect with a warm smile. They were two for two lion prefects now.

The second snake to arrive was Patrick. Looking over at the second year Laurel greeted warmly "Hello Patrick!" Laurel chose her words as she gazed over at the lion youth. "Hello Ronan, it is not cliche at all to fly on a broom. It's a popular wizard mode of transportation that can and will be combined today with a particular divination reading technique. It is not by any means unfair and I think you will see that by participating in this lesson. Don't judge before you've taken part." She'd let Haraldur give Ronan a piece of his thoughts too.

Aaron completed the two chain of snakes like she had predicted beforehand coming down with a scarf so tightly wrapped around his neck and mouth that Laurel first didn't see who it was. His muffled voice gave him away though. Beaming kindly over at Aaron she greeted "Good afternoon Aaron. I'm doing good, even in the strong wind. How are you? You didn't fall on your way here i hope?"
When the last student seemed to have arrived Laurel shot Haraldur a warm beam and a thumbs up "Let's get this show on the road!" before turning her full attention on the congregated students standing on the windy lake bank. Pulling out her wand from her coat to magnify her voice so it was heard over the loudly roaring wind so she didn't need to shout Laurel said "Welcome all to this windy joint lesson of Divination and Flying!" Gesturing to the broom care kits at Haraldurs feet she said "If you haven't gotten started yet there is still time to prepare your brooms for the lesson like Haraldur instructed, while we start the Divination part of the lesson."
Laurel let her eyes scan around, checking to make sure that everyone was listening even if they were busy with trimming and polishing their brooms. "This afternoon we are going to combine Anemoscopy with a broom sport that Haraldur will reveal later on. Anemscopy comes from the greek word anemos that means wind and anemoscopy is the art of divining by observation and study of wind characteristics."
"Anemscopy is a very ancient practice like many other divination techniques and was once very popular in the Orient and especially China and also in the British Isles. A person that studies the wind to foretell the fate of crops, health, wars and other events for the year is called an anemosomancer. Does anyone know just how would we go about reading the wind?" Laurel asked as a finish off before she shot Haraldur a blink.
OOC: Welcome everyone! Class is now officially started! It's nice to see so many of you coming to participate in mine and Josefin's lesson. If you've yet to post in this lesson and wish to jump in and do so, have your character act like they've been there the whole time.. unless of course you want them to show up late and suffer the consequences.
To start off the lesson, Laurel wants to know if your character knows how we can read the wind. Both correct and incorrect and funny answers will be accepted. The lesson will continue in approx 24 hours. Have fun!

He hadn't voiced his concerns in an attempt to back Zita up, he just genuinely hated flying. When his housemate leaned closer and whispered, Max tried his best to keep bewilderment away from his expression. She owed him? He wasn't sure how to respond to that and resorted to a small, uncertain smile.
Professor Baldvinsson seemed less than impressed however, and Maxton cringed internally at the teacher's words. He tried to catch the polish and clippers the Professor tossed in his direction and missed by a mile. He was not blessed with reflexes or co-ordination. At all.
Cheeks flushing, Maxton edged closer to Zita. He wasn't sure why because the girl kind of intimidated him but it was better than the alternative. There was no way he was going to fly.
The fourth year glanced at his Head of House with pleading eyes but she was busy explaining about reading the wind and probably didn't even notice. Surely he could take part in the Divination part of class and sit out the Flying segment??

So wind patterns then. Seemed as arbitrary as the nails but Jessa remained silent on the matter. Her head remained hung low, her gaze set on her broom and her movements as listless as anything while Professor Vance went on to explain the day’s lesson.
By the sounds of it, they really were going to be up and flying in this questionable weather. Rather than imagine the game they may have ended up playing, the Ravenclaw’s mind remained blank on the subject. There were only a few neurons busily trying to work through the mystery of the lesson, there were barely any neurons doing anything. For the most part, Jessa was still on autopilot, doing just enough to be considered as participating without really throwing herself into it.
When she could no longer find a surface to polish, she grabbed the clippers and set to getting the bristles of the broom snipped.
She looked up at the sound of the first question, finding it hard to muster enough motivation to provide an answer. What was the point? What was the point of any of this?
Dull eyes stayed on Professor Vance a moment before ultimately sinking down to the broom again. She had several guesses as to how this could be done such as basing readings off the strength of the wind or the direction it was going but to articulate seemed an even greater feat than she could manage.

Kirk was quite curious on this lesson when he saw the notice. Divination had it's fun parts, but then there's going to be flying involved as well? He considered the possibilities, since Divination involved readings in practically every environment. He was bundled up as he headed down to the Great Lake, his broom at hand, greeting Professor Vance and Mr. Baldvinsson before joining the crowd. Just in time before the lesson could begin.
So what would they be doing? Anemoscopy ... ah. Wind. How to read it though, "I imagine we'd look into the direction the wind is blowing and the speed?" Kirk harbored a guess on this while fixing up his broom.
