graphic designed by: Charely Potter The part of the Great Lake has been transformed into a slice of the Caribbean for the duration of the exciting activity originally planned by Professors Feirgrund and Khanna. The sound of steel pan and appropriate island rhythms drifts through the air with the smell of sea salt mixed with the spices and salt of the food nearby. Small rows of temporary coconut trees sway lightly along the shoreline, their leaves throwing patches of shade across the sand. Tables with bench-style seating line one side of the space, laden with colorful dishes of tropical food, while blankets and chairs are scattered on the sand for anyone who prefers a more laid-back spot to eat or relax.
You may notice on the lake a few boats from the boathouse bob invitingly, ready for short rides or a cool dip in the water. Some students may already be out on the Great Lake, but they are a short distance away from joining in as they wish. Students and staff alike can splash around, swim, or just let their feet dangle over the side of a boat. For those looking for a bit more action, frisbees - both charmed and mundane - are on hand for a friendly game or two, as well as brightly coloured kites for those who wish to take advantage of the gusts of wind. There’s also a changing booth where you can change into appropriate attire with discretion.
Your host professors hope that you feel the warmth in the atmosphere, filled with laughter and the easy, festive vibe of a seaside gathering. Professor Amstern has set up some lovely decorations along the trees and hammocks for anyone who desires to lounge and rest. Professor Khanna is busy adding pairs of oars to the boats and performing last-minute checks to ensure the boats are in tip-top shape. Professor Feirgrund, meanwhile, could be found under one of the coconut trees, getting the grill going. Hungry? Try not to shove the others in line while you wait for your meal to be served. There are stacks of plates and cups at the table.

Feirgrund thought a slice of life from the Caribbean would be just the flavour Hogwarts could use at the dawn of Spring Season. He wore a little makeshift chef's hat with the apron while he worked up the grill. The grill could've merely been used for presentation here since just a little magic speed up the cooking process. But the authenticity mattered with him. So Ean got the smoke going with the grill as he got the chicken, meat, and other delights going. But not to worry for those who identified as non-meat eaters, he had already prepared the tofu and non-meat alternatives beforehand to prevent cross-contamination.
"Everything sure looks good." Ean said while he flipped one of the chickens over. Shouldn't be long before the others join in.

Dressed in shorts and t-shirt JT headed down to the grounds and straight over to one of the lapping boats in the Hogwarts lake. Hopping on board the boat he kicked off his shoes and sat himself down on the rail, letting his feet brush the water as he looked down for potential fish or other creatures. Hopefully Iris would join him soon, and they could have a nice BBQ spring festivity together.
With a bathing suit under her spring skirt and t-shirt Ariadne headed down to the grounds to take part in the festivity. Her sister had said that she should wait for her by the charmed frisbees and colourful kites so that was where this badgerette had her eyes set. It was nice to get out of the castle, and do something that wasn't a class. If the kite or frisbee throwing scored her some house points though Ariadne wouldn't say no.

Dhruv could not have been more pleased with the work they and Ean had put together for all of Hogwarts to enjoy. Then again, it was not necessarily limited to just the occupants of the Castle {and the grounds once you counted Kraetos} but the activity being held at the Lake meant that the Merfolk and Bartholomew could potentially stop by. The DADA professor focused now on the students that were arriving: JT, who headed straight for a boat {one already fitted with oars} and Ariadne who gravitated towards the games. It was quite nice to see students jumping right into the activities.
Idris was, as usual, was bouncing around as he headed down to the Lake for all the fun and food. And to see the Dads, of course. “Come on, slowpokes!’’ he called to Jan, Paully and Ary. “Even Nessy is eager to get out there.” With that, the Gryffindor sprinted off after the pink kneazle-cat. In the process, he kicked off his slippers so he could run across the sand barefooted. “Please keep those safe for me!’’ he called over his shoulder, as he continued to attempt to catch up with Nes.
Ary couldn’t help it: he started laughing the moment Idris called the rest of the group ‘slowpokes’. There was more laughter when the fifth year lost his slippers {on purpose} as he took off after Nesquik. “How does Id have so much energy?” he asked Jan and Paul. “Wish he’d tell me his secret so I can have some for studies.” The tantalising aroma of BBQ hit him right then and his stomach reminded him just how hungry he was. “So, what are we going to do first, guys?” | |

Paul wasn't sure what they'd be up to, there was alot they could do such as eat, swim... "Hey, no fair!" He yelled before chasing after Idris and Nesquik. Idris being taller gave them the unfair advantage of a head start. "Careful not to trip. I don't think the sand will be all that soft to land on."
Paul did notice JT and Ariadne, giving them a little small wave in greeting before following after Idris.
Jan could only smile at his little, yet not so little anymore brother. Paul surely wasn't going to let them run off alone. "As far back as I could remember, he hardly sat still for long." Jan said. "Lucky you got me as a friend to help you." Laughing, "Honestly, I could go for some grub. How about you? I bet we'll be out here long enough to be safe to swim sometime after?"

Aurora may have been born and raised in the Scottish cold, but she couldn’t deny that the return of the spring season was delightful. Nor that the plans to warn things up for a bit that Dhruv and Ean had cooked up, pun intended, for staff and students alike weren’t a welcome change up in the school schedule. As much as it was good to be studious, everyone needed time to gather and have fun. Especially when the weather was holding up. Not that she wasn’t sure there were charms in place to keep it toasty. It didn’t hurt to have good food either and judging by the smells starting to waft through the air that was on the table too.
Exchanging her heavier robes for a flowy skirt and blouse that was still appropriate for a teacher, the former Hufflepuff made her way down to the lake join in the festivities. Her hair down but lightly pulled back so the airy breezes didn’t make her regret her decision. “Looks wonderful, Ean,” she commented with a smile at the man at the grill, taking in those who had already started to gather as well as their surroundings. Dhruv off by the lake, students trickling into activities. “Need a hand with anything?” she asked half out of habit. One could still relax and lend a hand or spell or two if the assistance was welcome. She wasn’t one to leave her colleagues to do everything.

This adolescent merfolk - Finnian - had taken it upon himself to journey the quarter of a mile distance from his village to the shores of Hogwarts. For fun, for adventure. It was not unheard of that his kind visited humans, no matter how rare that may be.
His head broke the water, thin rivulets of water running down his face. It was just his luck that he happened to swim cautiously up to the Lake’s shore on the day something big was happening. What an intriguing moment. The humans were having a get together of sorts. Would they mind it terribly if he lingered for a moment? Finnian would even love to get to know a few of them.

Idris heard his boyfriend’s words and allowed himself a hearty laugh. Okay, truthfully? It was a sort of cackle because he was thinking along the same line about his height, and by extension, the greater strides he quite literally made. Sorry, Paully! He would still love you even if it took you forever to catch up! “You’ll patch me up if I hurt myself, won’t you?” he called happily over his shoulder. Was he flirting? Absolutely. He was flirting as only Paul can make him flirt  Oh, there was Ariadne! “Hi, Ariadne!” Id shouted as he headed for the water. “Hi, Professor Feirgrund!” His Dad E was looking great {as always} in that chef’s hat and apron. “Save us some chicken, please! Hi and bye, Professor Stone!’’ The fifth year only started to slow his pace as he approached the boats and his Dad D. “You should take a trip on the Lake with Paully and I!” And maybe later, the man could take one with Dad E! While to many it may seem confusing as to how and why Paul and Idris were a couple, Ary understood completely. Especially since he and Bry were in the same boat as the two: best friends who ended up dating. So, it genuinely made him happy to see the two already having a great time. The Slytherin chuckled. “It would explain why he always was eager to follow you around, apart from you being his big brother, of course. He’s always up for… what’s that word he uses often? Adventures.” Speaking of, it was clear Ary and Jan were up for one of their own now. “Me too! Just no beef for me, please.” Jan and his family knew the reason so it wasn’t like he needed to remind Professor Feirgrund. “Oh, yeah! We are, Jans.” He wiggle-waved his fingers at Stone as they approached the Charms professor. “What do you say to us having a mini competition? Which of us can swim more laps before tiring?” Jan was obviously going to win but there wasn’t any way that Ary would admit defeat already! “Hi, Professor E… an. Mmm, smells great!” Dhruv saw a head peek out from under the water, and thought that they recognised the face though they had only seen it once. Before they could dwell more on the visitor, they were graced with the presence of Idris and Paul. They turned to face the two. “Idris, Paul,’’ Dhruv said, the words accompanied with a relaxed smile. “I appreciate the offer. Maybe I will but for now, I would like to oversee things from here. You both enjoy yourselves. And keep an eye out for any visitors that may be lurking in the water. Mind your feet, Idris.” | |
