Gringotts Goblins 12-07-2019 05:32 AM

Despite it being the off-season, it did feel like they were a bit understaffed. What was going on? The poor window goblin did not have time to worry about that at the moment though.

"Next." he said calling the next wandwaver to the window.

He shifted his weight between feet and leaned to the side. At least the line wasn't long.

She was growing somewhat frantic, something she never did, as she sifted through the contents of her bag. The extension charm was such a useful thing, until it wasn't. She had her arm about halfway submerged into the purse when one of the Goblins called out. The words didn't register right away and she continued to stand there, until a few prolonged seconds passed and the realization hit her.

"Sorry!" she turned around and hurriedly apologized to the person (Bennett) behind her, before quickly shuffling her way over to the window... Arm still very much submerged.

"Hello, how are you?" Her voice was laced with certain apology. "I was hoping to withdraw some money from my vault, I have my... key and my wand... right......." This was very embarrassing. "Here," she smiled with a sense of relief as she pulled both things from her bag (finally) and pushed them over to the goblin.

The window goblin tried not to look annoyed at the delay. Was it necessary to start hanging signs asking customers to have their documentation ready before approaching the window?

The goblin accepted both the key and the wand, carefully inspecting both. After consulting a book of paperwork, he nodded and then handed the items back. "Very well."

He then addressed the next person in line.

"Vault as well?" Efficiency would work best in this situation.

Bennett returned her exasperated look with a knowing smile. "No problem." he said. He's had days like that.

Yassi gave the globin a most grateful look. She wasn't typically this disorganized. It was always at the worst times when things like this happened. Giving him a sheepish smile, she stepped aside for the person behind her.

Yassi laughed politely at the stranger's comment. "Certainly looks like it," she agreed. His pleasant mood helped put her at ease. Something the Goblin's hidden annoyance had failed to do. Not that... Not that it was anyone's job to put her at ease, she certainly did not expect that from others. It was just... Nice.

The Goblin accepted the key as well as the wand. He studied them carefully and just as before, consulted a large book to verify the key and wand. The goblin then nodded and set the wandwaver's key and wand back on the table so he could take them back.

He then slid out of his chair and motioned for them to follow him to the carts.

This was a first in Bennett's time visiting this bank. That was fine with him though. He didn't mind and it meant that they could both get their business done faster. He took his things off the counter before starting to follow the goblin. "I'm Bennett, by the way." he said offering his hand to the woman.

ArianaBlack 12-12-2019 10:33 PM

Yassi didn't mind either, she didn't have anything confidential in her humble vault, nor did she mind the company. It was nice in all honesty. Throwing her wand back into her bag (she'd just deal with the mess when she was..... less of a mess), she quickly moved to catch up to the other two.

"I'm Yassi," she extended her own hand to meet his and gave him a warm smile. "It's nice to meet you... Do you live nearby?"

currency exchange

In the main hall, Jina paused for a moment to stare around. This place was very impressive! All the goblins behind the counter seemed to be hard at work. She stepped up to the counter for currency exchange. "Hello, I would like to exchange these pounds to galleons," she said as she handed an envelope containing 300 pounds.

"Yeah. Here in London. I work at the Ministry. And you?" Bennett asked as they walked.

The goblin lead the way to the corridor and the awaiting cart. He then instructed them to get inside the cart.

ooc: You can go ahead and post in the corridor getting in the cart.

The window goblin accepted the envelope of muggle money and proceeded to count it. Twice. "Three hundred." the goblin stated wanting to confirm the amount.

"Yes," she confirmed. She too had counted the amount twice with her parents before entering the bank.

The Goblin nodded before producing galleons by stacks of ten. The goblin placed six stacks on the counter, before taking three back as a fee.

"Fifty-seven galleons." the goblin said sliding the money across the counter.

Wands at the ready the group of five escapees blew their way through the entrance foyer (literally, blowing things up as they pleased) and hustled towards the counters where each held another goblin at wand point. Blackened teeth and knotted hair, they snarled and made exaggerated claims for sacks full of galleons.

"Hurry it up, or I'll turn you in to goblin gum!" snarled one man who had cheek bones that looked as though they could cut you just by looking at you.

LilFox06 05-09-2020 12:40 AM

Tex, who was normally quite personable watched the chaos with an obvious annoyance. When a wand was brandished in her, her demeanor didn't change. She looked between the filthy wandbearer in front of her and the others in front of some of her fellow goblins.

"Please present your wand and key." she said in an even tone. Because everyone knew you needed those things to enter a vault.

The man's snarl turned more hideous, like a rabid dog ready to bite and there was even some evidence of him beginning to froth at the mouth.

"THIS is my key!" he spat, spraying the goblin with a decade's worth of un-brushed saliva and shoving the wand further into her pointy nose while his comreades in stripes proceeded with their own negotiations. "Galleons or it will be Bombarda to yer ugly head!"

LilFox06 05-10-2020 07:38 AM

Unpleasant did not begin to describe this. Tex used one of her long fingers to nudge the wand at her nose.

This wasn't the first time someone attempted to rob the bank.

"You want to go down to the vaults?" She asked. She was sure that Sturnik would be more than happy to allow them to pay a visit to Bunny. The dragon could keep them entertained until the Ministry came to fetch whatever was left of the thieves.

Neo-Alliance Followers 05-10-2020 10:45 AM

WAS THIS GOBLIN DEAF!?

It may as well have been by the redundant questions being asked, which only served to fuel the man's unrest as he sent a Severing Charm right at her ear.

"NOW!"

TakemetotheBurrow 05-10-2020 02:19 PM

so a deposit probably isn't going to happen

Any excuse to get out of the shop was a welcome one for Mackenzie, who was starting to believe that Mr. Lufkin might actually be in love with his owls. No seriously, he had an odd connection with those birds. The man needed a girlfriend STAT.

"Think my boss would be into any of the other shopkeepers? Someone who doesn't mind that hair and isn't allergic to owls, preferably." She smiled a little at Jolie, giving her a nudge as she lead the way into the main hall. Only as soon as she saw what they were walking in to, she stopped them both in their tracks, holding her arm out to block Jolie's path. "Jolie..." She glanced at her as she slipped her own wand from its wrist holder, her eyes filled with fear. This didn't look good.

"How old is he? Maybe we should hook him up with Evan." Jolie said in a tone that didn't really disclose if she was serious or joking. Older man though? Always a plus. And even if he was, from what Jolie had briefly seen, a little weird about birds, if there was anyone she knew who could handle weird guys with a balance of their own weirdness in return, it was definitely Evan. "Though I don't know where she stands with ow--"

Jolie's eyes widened at the tableau in front of them. Five dirty creepers, goblins, and a severing spell. She clasped the deposit bag from Paradise to her chest, the entire previous week's take within it, and then she fumbled for her own wand, which was in her bag since she rarely bothered to wear it day to day.

Punching their goblin square in its ugly nose to knock it off its stool, another one of the escapees spit on and then turned with their wand drawn to move down the line when his cold dark green eyes fell on the two young ladies who had just stepped inside.

And what they had in their possession.

Pivoting and while the others continued to occupy the remaining goblins, he began lunging towards his two for one, casting stunning and disarming spells with a gleeful howl. A howl that drew the attention of a red head witch among the escaped crew as well.

She wasn't going to panic here. This place had a reputation. Surely at any moment help was going to arrive. She just had to keep her head on straight and someone would come. "Security must've been aler-" An unladylike word escaped her, the punch she'd witnessed causing her to recoil. Her gaze followed the escapee's to the deposit bag and her stomach sunk. There would be no leaving unnoticed now.

Her shield charm went up within seconds, a gut reaction and one she was thankful for. She just hoped it was strong enough to deflect the spells back at the crazed man coming towards them. Her heart thundered in her chest and she glanced at Jolie briefly, unsure of what to do, where to go. Were there more escapees around the bank? Where was the security team? How were they getting out of this?

She didn't know.

TeafortheSoul 05-11-2020 03:09 PM

Jolie Chosen was incredibly thankful for her friend - had Kenz not been quick with shielding they would have been hit with all sorts of spells. Maybe they still would be if the barrage continued. She wrenched her wand out of her handbag (sending an Ellsberry lipgloss clattering across the marble floor), and immediately sent a leglocker curse, followed by the knockback jinx, far more inclined towards an offensive approach than her friend.

Um... not to be too much the former Slytherin or anything but....

"Let's run!"

Sturnik 05-11-2020 08:52 PM

Sturnik was furious. HOW DARE THERE BE SO MUCH DESTRUCTION. Of course, the head goblin has his priorities. He had to make sure a certain lady goblin was safely locked in an office the mint was on lockdown and secure. He then circled around and posted some security outside the entrance hall. Effectively trapping everyone in this room with the intent to funnel the intruders toward the vaults.

"That is ENOUGH." he bellowed as he entered into the Main Hall. He had worked far too hard and far too long on improving the goblin reputation and especially Gringotts reputation after unfortunate events in recent decades.

He passed two humans as he walked by. He sideways glanced toward the back offices hoping to convey that if they wanted to run, that was the direction to go.

"The vaults are down to your left." He assumed anyone foolish enough to try and hold a goblin hostage is also stupid enough to try and rob the vaults.

Sagni 05-11-2020 11:49 PM

What was all the noise? She had been down in a vault and was just making her way back up when he saw what was going on. This wasn't good, it wasn't good at all. She glanced towards Sturnik assuming he hit an alarm and just as he was going to slip around he noticed two witches in the mix and caught the glance of the Sturnik.

She pointed as the escapees were bullying their way around in front of hr. The girls could see before they all turned and saw her. "Yes, this way to the vaults. I will take you to which ever one you are wanting to go to."
