Would the administrators consider adding successful NaNoWriMo winners to the accolades section too? I know that there aren't that many who participate in this competition but it'll be nice if the winners were recognized for their efforts here on SS too.
Not a silly question at all! Though we may support members who are willing to take on the challenge with motivation, resources, and help here, NaNoWriMo is not an official SS event. I know whoever does become a winner would no doubt love to be recognized for their efforts, but the accolades isn't the way to go. It could become quite messy trying to figure out just who actually is a winner and who isn't.

Hello! You've done nothing wrong. It should be fixed now. You aren't the only one to have run into this little problem since the server switch. I don't believe we've figured out whether this can be permanently fixed or not, but it's been found that creating a second post, whether it be from yourself or another user, after the troubling post will fix the issue and bring the thread back up to the normal flow with things. For now, there's nothing we can do until the problem has been solved, but the next time this happens for you, you can try the second/double post. I'd personally wait for someone else to reply to the thread, but if you can't wait for long and don't particularly want a random double post in your thread, feel free to nudge me or the forum mod to delete it for you. We're sorry for the inconvenience! But, happy writings and good luck with the story.

I have a really specific question, can I make some drabbles about what my SSRPG character would have done if she were in the place of one of the characters in Harry Potter? Like what she would have done if she were in Harry's situation with Malfoy on the train, for example. It would not be for one of the challenges, but it wouldn't be a full length story either. And I'd probably do only eight or so.
Yes, drabbles are a 100 words each, no more, no less (which is what makes it so much of a fun challenge). As for your question about the drabble crossover, of course you may go ahead and write what you like, as long as it is somewhere in the Harry Potter Universe or Snitchseeker related. They are your drabbles after all, so be as creative as you like! I am, however, not quite sure what you mean about these particular drabbles not being created for one of the challenges. If these stories are not created for either the SS100 or SS50 Challenge, or you aren't using one of the prompts given at the beginning of each Challenge (or it just doesn't fit with the theme in your thread altogether), we do have a section in our Fan Fic Interactive Forum where you can post the lone drabble/ficlet. Which can be located right HERE. Though I'd advise reading up thoroughly on the rules there, as well as the rules in the Challenge Arena (for both challenges) in our Fan-Fiction forum to help decide on what you want to do.

I could make them 100 words each if it complies to the rules though. Where could I post this if I don't want to make each short story 100 words, in the SSRPG fanfic section?
Right, our Fan-Fiction Section has a variety of categories in which you can post your stories in if they're longer than a drabble; Character, Epic & Adventure, Romance, Cross-Over, and Other. You can take a look at each to determine just where your stories would fit, and make sure to read the rules very carefully. Also, we do have our SS50 ficlet challenge as well. It's much like our drabble challenge, however, there's a maximum of 200 words and only 50 prompts to do, unlike the 100 each needed for the SS100.

I'm sorry, but the only reason I can think of for a rule like that is homophobia.
You know, the site rules were changed a while back, but these rules/ question threads weren't fully editted. I went through and took out any reference to prohibitions on slash fanfiction.

I would like to point out that many many people view 'slash' fiction as explicit, and we retained the rule to avoid any confusion. However, because the site and FF rules cover that fully, it's worth taking out the verbiage so people won't think we have an across-the-board ban on same sex couples.

Thanks for pointing it out!

1. I understand that curse words aren't allowed, so inasmuch as I've used the s-word or f-word or whatever, I'll go through and edit them out. But where do we draw the line? Are we just talking about basically "four-letter words," or are Britishisms, such as "bloody," also not allowed if used as curse words? What about wizarding phrases, such as "Merlin's beard" but naughtier? A few of my characters use colorful turns of phrase, such as "Merlin's saggy left..." you get the idea.
The SS FAQ/Board rules says; A censor has been put in place to block certain words. If you post and a word is replaced with *'s, then you have tripped the censor. Please edit your post. Failure to edit your post can result in a warning or infraction.

Defeating the censor by replacing letters in a cuss word with other letters or symbols is not permitted and will result in a warning or infraction. Not all words that can be used as curse words (for example, hell and damn are both allowed) are censored. Using these words in a way that is meant to be harmful towards another member will result in a warning/infraction. Excessive use of hell or damn can result in post deletion and warning/infraction.

Furthermore, derogatory and vulgar language (including certain slang terms) will not be permitted on the site, especially when being directed at a member or, in the case of a role-play, a character. Remember that the content on SS needs to be PG-rated.

Accidents happen, and sometimes you might not realise a word is classified as inappropriate until you've posted it and seen the **'s - telling you that you've tripped he SS censor. If this happens, just edit your post and remove the word/replace with something more appropriate.

Ron was the King of the word 'bloody' - it was in the books and films, so that's allowed.

Leave it at 'Merlin's saggy left...' unless it's completely harmless - eg. ...earlobe.

The SS FAQ/Board Rules says; Hand-holding, romantic embraces, flirting, brief kisses on the cheek or the lips are allowed throughout the site. No explicit bedroom scenes are allowed anywhere on the site. This set of rules applies to the sitewide School, Ministry, and Diagon Alley RPGs.

The High Security (Mature) Vault says; Hand-holding, romantic embraces, flirting, brief kisses on the cheek or the lips are okay, minor snogging sessions but no sexual touching or explicit bedroom scenes.

The HSV allows you to talk about snogging/minor snogging sessions, but it would be best to hold the detailed description about tongues. The way I think about it is if it's not described in the HP books, don't put it here.
