Library

https://i.postimg.cc/5yWKz6K5/library-banner3.jpg
A maze of thousands upon thousands of books, the library is heaven to any book-lover. Upon entering the high-ceilinged room, the smell of books, both ancient and new, hits you. There are many tall, narrow shelves neatly lined up, each divided into different sections -- charms, potions, Muggles, fiction, and so on. If you find a book you're interested in, simply make use of the sliding ladder or summon the book with Accio to retrieve it.

But the library just isn't a labyrinth of books. In the heart of the library and on the outskirts of it are tables and seating areas designated for quiet research and reading, some with accompanying fireplaces or large stained glass windows. Tucked away in the very back of the library is the Restricted Section, which requires a key that the librarian keeps on her person at all times and permission to enter because of the more mature titles and content that are tightly locked and chained within. At the entrance stands the front desk where the school librarian can usually be found, who will happily recommend a book, check out a book for you, and help you with any of your library needs.

OOC: Please do not play for the Librarian: Bazinga.

waiting for you, Miss Maya Nam :3

Atlas supposed he could have just read these back in the dorm, but he sort of did not want to have Aries poking at him about the specifics for the books in his possession since they were very much NOT the sort of book that he usually read. Judging by their covers and thickness...these would not be particularly long reads and then he could pass them back to Lisa and declare that he was now officially an expert on kissing frogs to find a prince of princess. He wasn't exactly sure why he even cared enough TO be reading these and risk certain appearances and reputations he had haphazardly thrown together...but here it was.

In a little corner of the library.

Sitting on the floor.

With the very very PINK The Frog Princess in his lap and turning the page just at the corner and by just barely pinching the pages between his thumb and index finger. It was just...so PINK...he half expected glitter and pygmy puffs to come exploding out of each page he turned.

Backed against the wall...he began to read. Anything was better than starting on a History of Magic essay he had no intention of turning in in the first place.

It was not unusual for the Slytherin to be found in the library - especially not when they've recently come back to school. Maya rather enjoyed looking around to see if any new books had shown up on the shelves. If they did, would it be something she'd be interested in? It was safe to say that Maya had not been expecting the sight of a fourth year Gryffindor sitting in the corner reading a very pink book. And the last person she would've thought to be reading it? Atlas Flamsteed.

But it was him. Unless it was the other twin.

Curious as to why he was reading the pink book and what it was, Maya approached him. "Is it interesting?" she asked, trying to peer at the pages from a safe distance away. Was it a fairytale? Or one of those books on flirting Evan had read?

For Linds & Daniel!

Lisa needed to find Daniel and speak to him ASAP about the events. The best guess on where he would be had to be the library. The guy was most likely here or so she wagered. She entered the library, glancing around, before pausing her search to think about what she’d do next after she found him.

At first, she had intended on discussing what V had brought up. Did he genuinely have feelings for her like that? No, she wouldn’t start with that question. Maybe she’d mention what V said to her and see how he’d reacted. OH yeah, that was a much better strategy....

But then, Evan’s suggestion popped into her head after she had told HIM about Serena getting visibly upset and poofing at the Start of Term feast. Maybe she did like Daniel? Hmm... She should ask Serena about that one... but then again- she thought that Serena and Daniel didn’t care for each other because of the whole weird V-Daniel dynamic....

Lisa was correct in locating him at the library at this time of day. He sat at the table near a large stained glass window, open books about Runes and Herbology scattered across the desk. He chewed on the back of his pen as he turned the page of one of the books.

Taking a brief break, Daniel stretched his arms out in front of him, and from the corner of his eye, he noticed Lisa standing nearby. She didn't appear to be holding a book or looking at the shelves. Was she lost in her thought?

Daniel reached for a piece of parchment, crumpled it with his hands, and then shot it her way with a wave of his wand and a muttered incantation.

Um.

UM?????

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse her. Atlas Leonel Flamsteed was incredibly well read. He just happened to have certain niches and when the rest of the family never read instruction manuals he would collect them and read them thorough until he had them memorized so he could then point out to them how improperly something had been put together or how to troubleshoot something that had gone astray. Pink books about princesses though...that was not the niche.

Which was why he nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard a voice and SLAMMED the book shut to tuck under his robes. He didn't quite get far enough for the tucking, but the sudden WHOOSH of wind from his movements did cause his butterfly origami bookmark to take flight. "What book?" he asked, said book still very clearly in his lap with the cover pressed to his knees and his origami bookmark now in a spin as it flittered back towards the ground.

Hi :3

She didn’t know why she felt so weird about the Serena and Daniel hypothetical relationship. It just… it didn’t sit right with her.

Doh!

Something…. Bounced off her head? Whatever it was it wasn’t hard and it didn’t hurt. She glanced behind her and found a parchment ball that was crumpled. She wasn’t standing near a rubbish bin was she? She glanced around and then saw Daniel looking at her.

Cheeks turned slightly pink for a moment and she beamed before making her way over to him with parchment ball in hand. When she stood next to him, she plopped it on his head, and then took a seat. “Please tell me that your Start of Term feast was just as eventful as mine right?” she asked, now seated. “You and V seemed to be … tolerating each other on the train. I nearly fell over when I saw it.

When the ball of parchment bounced off Lisa's head, Daniel felt proud. This meant that his target practice had not gone to waste. He watched her as she approached, noting her slightly pink cheeks but decided not to tease her about it for the time being.

The Hufflepuff leaned forward to pick up the crumpled up parchment that had fallen on the ground after Lisa had plopped it on his head, and when he got back up, she was already seated on the chair next to him.

Daniel shrugged, pretending he hadn't been bothered by the group of girls and Alfred's glances his way at the Start of Term feast. Or when Perseus mistook the flush on his cheeks for liking Serena. He still had to find that kid and tell him to keep his mouth shut and not to start any nonsense. Because he did not like Serena in that way. "Well, we've been 'tolerating' each other ever since we had a conversation at the owlery last year" he said with a shrug of his shoulders. "I still don't like her but i guess i can tolerate her now" Just because they had an ok conversation twice did not mean that everything was immediately forgotten and forgiven. Baby steps.

And was he going to mention that V called him 'cute'?

....No. Never.

It wasn't that she didn't believe that the Flamsteed twin read. It was really just the way the book looked that had her curious. Most boys she knew - especially around their age - would not be reading such a pink book. Maya herself didn't even read a book that pink, at least not since she was much younger.

At the slam of the book, Maya took a step back, a bit surprised by the sudden noise. "The-" she watches as he attempted to hide the book from her, distracted by the origami butterfly bookmark that had flown from it and was now not too far from her feet. Oh? Was that something he did too? She knelt to the ground to pick it up. "This is beautiful," she said, flipping it over in her hand to admire the craftsmanship. "Did you make this?"

The Slytherin walked over and took a seat on the ground, leaving enough space between them. "And I was referring to that book," she said, gesturing to the pink book sticking out from his lap. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to though." It was absolutely none of her business; she was just curious.

AnYwAy!

Subtle was clearly not filling his cup of tea for the day, or most days for that matter, but he relaxed a little seeing that she was distracted by his little origami. He couldn't help the rise of color to his cheek at the compliment, he really liked those, and nodded. "I did...I really only know how to make bugs and insects though." Because that was where his own interest lay. Butterflies had not really been in his arsenal until making Remy the butterfly jar for her birthday but now he could fold those in his sleep too.

His rouge only intensified, slightly, when she joined him on the floor but it wasn't unwanted company either. Until she brought attention back to the book. Though he did have a story to go with the excuse as to why he had it! "Oh...well...it's not mine," he mumbled, first and foremost, as he turned it over to show the cover. May as well at this point. "It's actually from your sister. She lent it to me along with one other. Wants to teach me about kissing to find your one true love or whatever...and how that relates to frogs. So I'm reading them as a favor to her."

And it was better than doing History of Magic homework, so here he was.

Maya flipped the little piece of origami artwork back around and handed it back to him. As she did, she noticed the slight flush in his cheeks, but didn't think much of it. "This is really good. I like to make different animals," she said with a slight smile. Who knew that there was someone else in the school who enjoyed origami? She hadn't ventured into making origami bugs herself just yet and her focus had shifted a bit to learning how to animate them with magic. "Origami is rather relaxing, isn't it?"

The red that was now on Atlas's face? Well that was a bit more obvious than the slight flush from earlier. She thought to mention it but figured it would be a bit rude, especially if he may already be aware of it. "Oh?" If it weren't his... did it belong to the library? Or had he stolen it from another student resulting in him reading the book in secret? His explanation made... slightly more sense. "Oh." At least the pink part was explained?

Wait. Maya's brown eyes widened.

"Lisa... wants to teach... you about... kissing?"

At least that was all she had gathered from what he had said. WHAT DID LISA KNOW ABOUT KISSING?!

His thoughts briefly wandered to Quinn and their reaction to the ladybug origami he had first given them all the way back in their first year. Maya's response, the physical visual cues, were similar and it was a nice little dose of validation. Her verbal praise even better. "Thanks...mum had me get into it when I was little...for my restless hands." Helped him stop deconstructing things in the house at least. "Kind of turned into a sort of prerequisite to metal charming and robotics too...since you got to think about how one fold will impact the whole final product and requires a certain precision too." Which, in a round about way, confirmed her question too - since the whole purpose of it had been to calm and focus him - and brought a little smile to his face.

They could talk about origami some more, by the way. That was much better a topic...ESPECIALLY considering how pressed Maya seemed to be when he explained the purpose of the book and the way. It was almost the confirmation he needed that this was STUPID. Which meant that he was turning the book back over to hide the cover and certainly would NOT be taking the other one out of the bag either.

"Well, yes and no," he replied, feeling the need to qualify a bit because Maya really seemed to be missing the point that Lisa had been stressing with him the most. "Specifically she wants me to learn about how to find your one true love as a result of it." Which was apparently related to kissing frogs, but that piece of information felt unnecessary to share at the moment.

Maya nodded along as he talked about origami. Her own mind was wandering quite a bit, in a reel as she focused on the pink book that Atlas held and his relationship with her younger sister. It just wasn't one of those things that she could let slide. Maya almost felt faint as she pictured the two snogging.

OOOOOOH MERLIN.
That was not something she wanted in her brain.

"But... if she wants to teach you about kissing to find true love... don't you have to test it out... by kissing?" What was Lisa doing telling people about kissing to find true love anyways? Was Lisa not kissing just one person but multiple? Maya would have to find Evan immediately and ask - right after this conversation. She would have to gather as much information as possible. The normally calm Slytherin was spiraling. "So..." Maya paused and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath in.

One... two... three.

And exhale. "So are you two... testing it out on each other?" She forced it out, resisting the urge to run back to her dorm and scream into a pillow. "The kissing to find true love? Has she kissed a lot of people already?"

sweetpinkpixie 01-09-2022 04:29 AM

Meanwhile the narrative in Atlas head was going a very, VERY, different direction. Everything about her facial expressions seemed align with his own thoughts on the subject (again he was only humoring this because he had exhausted other immediate means of procrastinating on some assignments) and he was content to write this off as himself being right...until Maya spoke again and threw out another radical that he had NOT considered.

Wait...was...Lisa trying to...

Bluescreening at the first thought...question...thought...he supposed there was truth in the process of having to test for a result to see if the result was there. It was like when left to his own devices in the kitchen with a pack of Mentos and some bottled soda. He had HEARD that when you popped some of those into soda there was a certain reaction, but he had not actually tested it himself. He had now, of course, and learned that you did not need to pour an entire package of Mentos into the soda to get those results. There had also been a kitchen that had needed cleaned up because of some of the experimentation. Science was messy at times, you know. His brain had just about rebooted when Maya slammed him with another error message and his eyes widened and he just sort of gaped at the Slytherin.

"What?! No. We haven't done any of that!" He had only ever had cheek kisses from Quinn (confusing but maybe in a good way) and Phoebe James (swoon worthy). "Wait...waitwaitwait...WAIT..." He was getting something...coming to a conclusion of some sort...just give him a moment because he was still rebooting. "...do you think...do you think she is trying to send me a message that she wants to? With me?" It was only practical, right? Given the research to debrief on and learn about the experiment before performing. It was just good science. Though he wasn't sure he liked the idea of being thought of as someone's science experiment.

iBeJenn 01-09-2022 04:54 AM

Spiraling. Maya was spiraling. Was this a panic attack? Was the oxygen suddenly depleted from this room? Merlin, the walls felt like they were closing in on her. She supposed this was how Evan felt when he heard about their first crushes. But to have a harmless crush was one thing. Kissing everyone you know to see who you were in love with? That was something completely different. The germs. The lips.

She stared at Atlas. If she knew legilimency, perhaps she could find out what exactly was going on in his mind. Was he fantasizing about kissing her sister? Did he have a crush on her? Maya needed to know but also struggled to get those words out without sounding crazy. When he looked at her with his wide eyes and gaping mouth, she resisted the urge to glare at the Gryffindor. Because he was clearly trying to SNOG HER SISTER and LIE about it.

That had to be it right?!

But he also seemed genuinely surprised at the questioning. Maya remained a bit wary, trying to focus on her breathing. In... and out... She could do this. But then he asked her if she thought that Lisa was trying to kiss him. Maya froze. "I-" She started her sentence, unable to finish it. The wheels in her brain spun round and round as she tried to work it all out in her head. "She-" It was useless, she couldn't find the words. But why was he asking if Lisa was sending him a message? Clearly it meant only one thing. And without thinking it through, the words came tumbling out of her mouth. "Do you want her to be sending you a message that she wants to kiss you? Do you want to kiss her?!"

"I saw Serena leaving the Great Hall" before he got mesmerized by Maya's presence. "Why was that?" It wasn't said in a worried tone, but rather in a curious one.

At the mention of V, Daniel leaned back in his chair. He had expected her to ask about this. Baby steps.

And was he going to mention that V called him 'cute'?

....No. Never.

Now seated, she watched Daniel reach for the crumpled piece of paper. “You should try throwing it over to another table… Five points if you land it right on their notebook and fifty five points if you sink it in the rubbish bin over there,” she pointed to the students in front of them and then the rubbish bin near the Librarian’s desk. Yes, she was wearing a maniacal smirk as she challenged him. Heh.

The teasing, fun smirk disappeared replaced with a legitimate, worried frown. It wasn’t her that made Serena leave right? It was V and Alfie’s questions. Totally wasn’t her…. “I dunno….” She shrugged at his question nonchalantly, hoping to avoid it before sighing and giving in. Lisa knew Daniel would eventually get it out of her so she decided to recap the events. “Look it was all fiiiine until V asked me about our friendship cause we hang out and are friends so she thinks we’re a thing…” Lisa didn’t know how to feel about THAT but…. She wasn’t going to elaborate more on it. “She kept pressing me which made me think she was jealous. Alfie reacted our conversation and encouraged things… and then surprisingly Serena- not V- got upset and left.

She paused after letting her voice drop off as she became lost in thought. And then he mentioned V so she listened. The Owlery… that’s what V had mentioned to her too. “I see… well… I think.. it’s good that you are tolerating each other. She’s grown up… a little.” And she thought HE had grown up too. Less dramatic perhaps. “Train ride was okay with her?

Her mind flicked back to the Great Hall…. Why did Serena leave? Root cause: something upset her. What V said and Alfie piled on…

The LIGHTBULB went off in her mind.

So either Serena liked Daniel or.. No. impossible.

Serena didn’t like her, right?

Oh Wait- Daniel… i think Serena may like you.. Are you guys… friends or “tolerating” each other too?

IF she knew legilimency...he would be going off about an invasion of privacy seeing as he had not given explicit permission to his mind! But, well, as it were...his mind was currently preoccupied with going over every conversation and interaction he had ever had with Lisa, picking apart whatever he could recall to see if he could find pieces to fit this puzzle. But, well, since he hadn't exactly been paying attention for this sort of thing... it was more than a little bit hard to know if there were any pieces to begin with. The only solid evidence he had to anything were these two books, which he had exhausted talking about with Maya just now and he didn't feel like there was anything more to say there. Minus bringing up frogs.

Was he a frog? Frog price? Was he Lisa Nam's frog prince? It had a better ring to it than flobberworm, if he were honest.

So, glare or not, Atlas was not paying Maya much attention presently as his own wheels and gears went round and round and round until it was a wonder there wasn't smoke coming out of his ears. The Slytherin's questions were really not helpful either, did she know? She was the SISTER here and therefore shouldn't she KNOW a thing or two about this? Like Atlas knew who Aries wanted to hold hands with and make oogly googly eyes at. Or...was Maya now playing wingwoman and prying for information on behalf of her little sister? Girls were confusing like that. "I...don't know?" When kissing was brought up...it was a different face that came to mind at first. Blonde, Gryffindor, and with Aries' obnoxious voice chanting in the background. "I suppose I didn't know she saw me that way...we have fun together and she makes me smile..." And she showered him with compliments, which was really nice and validating. "...I don't....dislike the idea?" Like it didn't make him gag or like he wanted his skin to melt and crawl right off the bone or nothing. "I haven't really thought about kissing all that much..."

Just tongues and why girls kept posing with them sticking out of their mouths.

Oh? A challenge? Daniel liked those.

He, too, had a smirk on his face that was identical to Lisa's and his gaze was drawn to the rubbish bin next to the Librarian's desk. "Want to place a bet on whether I can shoot it in or not?"

Daniel was intrigued by the change in her smirk to a worried frown, and he reasoned that something bad had occurred. Had they gotten into a fight at the feast? He didn't recall any physical fighting or bickering like V and him used to do. He scratched the back of his head lightly as he considered what could have prompted Serena, of all people, to flee the Great Hall.

However, his thoughts were interrupted when Lisa mentioned that V thought she and he were... a thing. "They what?!" he exclaimed, perplexed. "That's simply....what?" He was at a loss for words. "How come they believe that?" was it because he spent the most time with her? But that was only because she was the only person he truly saw as a FRIEND! To him, the others were just...year mates.

Daniel simply nodded when it came to V and him. He'd seen her waving at him a few times during classes, but he hadn't waved back yet. He had been a little taken aback by the sudden friendliness.

"Did you talk to Perseus?" he asked, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. "Because he believes i have feelings for Serena. That i don't! I have a thing fo---" He abruptly stopped talking and with a swift motion, he knocked over the inkwell with his elbow to conceal that he had almost revealed to have a crush on Lisa's older sister. "Oh Geez!" he exclaimed as the ink dripped on the library book next to the fallen inkwell. He reached for his wand in his robe pocket and pointed it at the book. "Tergeo" he muttered and watched the spell siphon up the liquid. "Did you get ink on you?" he asked, changing the subject entirely.

She supposed it was a good thing she didn't now legilimency yet as she didn't exactly want to know everything going on in Atlas's mind. And he would not want to go through every interaction that the boy had with her sister because what if there were private, romantic, sappy things?! She shook her head, trying to free herself of the imagery of the two holding hands and being sweet on each other. Just as she had a list of potential relationship candidates for Evan, she had one for Lisa and Atlas was nowhere on it.

Until now she had to consider him as part of it. And he was at the bottom of that list.

When Atlas answered her question with an uncertain "I don't know" that snapped Maya out of her headspace. She frowned. "Well we don't know if she actually sees you that way," she said with a pointed look. "And she makes a lot of people smile." Because Lisa was well... Lisa - a bright ball of energy that somehow made friends with everyone she met. So that didn't necessarily mean that Lisa liked Atlas... right? Because if that were the case that would mean that Lisa saw half of the student body in a romantic way. Then a brow rose. "So you... don't want to kiss Lisa?"

Really that was what she wanted to find out. She would simply interrogate her sister after this whole conversation was over.

For the record? This list thing...was weird and controlling. So good thing on both of them that neither had any proficiency in legilimency. Though his thoughts were entirely squeaky clean and sort of took on the appearance of a big ball pit of confusion that he was currently flopping around in.

"You're getting defensive...why is that?" he blurted out at the sight of pointed look after pointed look. Like there really wasn't a need to point out the obvious that Lisa was friendly and made people smile because of her friendly persona. He had just been answering a question all truthful and such! But also...ouch. It was nice to be made to feel special by someone and Maya didn't have to try and snatch that way.

He probably should be getting riled up to, but instead Maya getting all hot and bothered just had him becoming more pensive and analytical...because now not only did he have the question of whether or not Lisa was trying to send him subliminal (or maybe not so subliminal messages) through the use of these books, now he ALSO had the dilemma of wonder why Maya was so cross at the unconfirmed thought. She didn't even know him. "I don't...don't want to kiss her?" Again, the idea did not bring up feelings of repulsion and wanting to bolt in the other direction whereas, like, kissing someone like Emmerson made him feel all gross because they had been friends since Atlas and Aries were in diapers and her mum and their dad dropped them off in the Ministry daycare for the work day. That would be gross. Kissing Lisa did not invoke that sort of gross feeling. "Her and I share ideas ...which is better anyway."

But maybe he needed to talk to Lisa...because IF that was the purpose for her giving him the books...he wasn't sure he wanted to keep reading. It felt like too much pressure.

iBeJenn 01-12-2022 01:54 AM

Getting defensive?

Maya raised her brow before frowning. "Because she's my sister and I'm protective of her." Duh? And Maya by no means meant to make Atlas feel like he was he wasn't special. Just not special enough for Lisa. Typically, Maya wasn't even one to get frustrated with a situation. The last time she had felt this way was when Solana had almost been adopted into their family. Which fell through and those feelings had been replaced with none other than guilt.

But she would worry about those sort of feelings later. "So... you do want to kiss her?" Her head was going to explode. It felt like they were going around in a loop - almost like the question of what came first, the chicken or the egg. "If you do want to kiss her, you should at the very least ask her out on a date." Because then at least then she would know it wasn't just for the heck of it and Atlas wasn't trying to mess around with Lisa's feelings.

She took another deep breath and exhaled slowly. Sharing ideas was indeed better. It was the foundation of a good relationship - whether it be romantic or not. "Just... don't hurt her."

Heh. The energy in this conversation was feeding her maniacal self more and more and MORE!! :elmofire: She giggled. “Absolutely... Are we betting candy, cookies, or favors like pranks?” she returned his smirk.

His reaction had been similar to hers. However, Lisa had never actually denied that they weren’t or were dating directly - she just kinda.. y’know... beat around the bush and subtly linked the concepts together. “I don’t know. Maybe my surprised reaction to you and V coexisting in a train compartment egged V’s imagination into thinking that us hanging out and having fun was equivalent to us dating and being all lovey covey...” And then just then, she gasped! And she flushed because she remembered the TOTALLY EMBARRASSING moment in the Great Hall on Valentine’s Day that Daniel didn’t help with at all. “Do you think she saw us after me consuming that potion...” hfhdsdhgjkhgjkhgfghfhdfhd She was certain that was enough to make anyone think ... things. “I also did ask her if she was jealous because maybe she liked you like that buuut honestly I don’t know.” She pushed off of the ground, balancing on the two legs of the chairs with her feet lightly on the legs of the table.

Perseus? Perseus WHO?” she blinked, furrowing her brows in confusion, before Daniel made a sudden movement. The inkwell as knocked over and in Lisa’s poor attempt to avoid ink, she lost her balance and both her and the chair CRASHED onto the floor.

She winced and reached up gently to touch her poor, sore head. “I’m... not your fault.. ow...” she said as she tried to rub it. Lisa winced and then gently began to ginger touch the side of her head.

Lisa was plotting once more. He could see it in her eyes. It was one of the qualities he admired in her. Of course, as a friend and nothing more. "I'm up for prank favours" he grinned, twirling his wand between his fingers before it dropped to the ground.

The Hufflepuff listened as Lisa spoke, stooped down, and picked up his wand again. He thought it was strange that V thought he and Lisa were dating, and he rolled his eyes once more. Seriously, why were girls so obsessed with these things that they made up their own stories and began to believe them?

That Potion. Daniel had to pause for a moment to think about which one she was talking about. It may have been a memorable event in her life, but to his, it had been... eh. "I doubt it" he said, shaking his head as he remembered the Great Hall's love potion fiasco. "More students were under the influence of the love potion, so she should have made the connection that it wasn't the 'real' you" Even V couldn't be that simple to believe it, could she?

Lisa had inquired about V's jealousy? Uhm? What? "Do you think V likes me?" What in Merlin's Beard was she on about? "Why on earth would SHE be interested in me? It makes absolutely no sense"

"Perseus is Serena's brother. Or cousin. I'm not sure, to be honest, I didn't pay much attention to him during the feast" he said as he siphoned up the ink when he noticed Lisa tilting backwards in her chair out of the corner of his eye.

His reaction was almost instant, like a Seeker grabbing the Golden Snitch during a Quidditch match. He dropped his wand on the desk and turned to reach for her chair to keep her upright, but the damage had already been done. Daniel's face was blank as he stared down at the slightly older Ravenclaw. "You've hurt your head" he stated as he observed her touching the side of her head. "How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked, holding up two like a peace sign.

Watson 01-14-2022 04:04 PM

Lisa’s smile grew even more when he said he was up for prank favours as well. Heh. Apart from their love of knowledge and natural intellectual curiosity, he liked to have fun like she did. Maybe it made sense about the whole dating thing if they had such similarities or similar things they both enjoyed?

Right… I know. I’m just trying to rule out every outlandish reason as to why people think we’re dating.” They we’re just good friends. She could have even offered that they were continuing on the tradition of a Yoon and Nam always being friends but she knew that Minjae was… a touchy subject so she left that thought remain in her mind. Now onto the matter of V. “Well….. she was so insistent on the you and I dating so I thought maybe that was jealousy?” she offered. Lisa thought that Daniel should give himself some more credit. He was rather cute… or becoming cuter this year. He had a nice smile.

And she still thought he had a nice smile when he stared down at her. Well from what she remembered because he looked a tad blurry. She remained quiet as she bit her bottom lip. Still in shock, she was that she had fallen. “It’s a little blurry… fuzzy? But I think you’re making a pizza? Just missing the top of it.” With that, she made a peace sign to with her right hand and then put her left index on top of the peace sign to form said pizza. She giggled before reaching up once more to massage the sorest part of her head. There would most likely be an egg there.

Quite defensive. In the moment he couldn't fully process it, but it was the same flavor of defensive he would get about Aries. Little tangy and with pockets of flavor that really packed a lot of punch and made your face pucker - which was totally what was going on with Maya as her features went through a whole journey. None of which, for the record, was helping HIM with the puzzle of whether or not Lisa was trying to send him subliminal messages through literature. Which, if someone was going to do that to him, would be the niftiest way to go about it.

And that riddle wasn't as much of a riddle if one applied the principles of evolutionary biology. Dad had kind of ruined that one for him around age seven or so when he had successfully distracted the man while Aries snuck into the home office to sneak something out. Blah blah blah first amniotic eggs appearing somewhere around 340 million years ago blah blah blah first chickens evolving at the earlier around 58 thousand years ago blah blah blah...egg came first.

He would have happily educated her on this were she ever to voice it aloud.

Maya was being more confusing though. REALLY confusing. Somehow reading books about kissing frogs had now taken the turn that Maya was telling him he ought to ask Lisa out on a date, which was a plot twist he had not seen coming based on the first paragraph or so he had read. Well, a date under the condition that he did want to kiss her...which he was uncertain as to whether or not he did which was not a negative and therefore not a no so that then meant that...he...did? Warning, more inept Gryffindoring in progress. "Why would I hurt her? I always look out for her. and she has never been anything but nice and supportive to me."

First Maya was telling him he wasn't special and now she was accusing him of being a bully! How peculiar.

"You are a very curious creature, Maya Nam." It was a compliment, which hopefully the little twinkle in his eye conveyed.

And maybe he needed to write to Aunt Minnie or Unchiul Andrei for advice on asking someone out on a date.
