Training Area The Training Area is where Flying classes are usually held, but is otherwise open to anyone at any time, curfew and individual restrictions permitting. While flying is possible here, this area is not a pitch and should not be treated as such. There is space for practicing flying technique - tricks, control, even casual racing - just be mindful of those around you both in the air and on the ground. A large running track circles the centre green, where there's plenty of space for whatever non-flying training takes your fancy; if you need any specific equipment, Mr Kazmi may be able to arrange that for you. Sitting here to relax is also fine, as long as you don't get in the way of anyone using the area for its intended purpose. Benches are spread evenly around the outside of the running track; sit here if the centre green is busy. |
Jess / Apollo They were due for a rematch. After Apollo won their last race, Margaret had been practicing. She'd have been practiced even if she won, of course, flying was important and winning wasn't everything. Well, winning a casual race with a friend wasn't everything. Well... she liked flying. Even if it wasn't a competition. Which, today, it was. She arrived at the entrance to the training area and checked her watch. Where was Apollo? Being late to a race wasn't the way you wanted to start. |

For the record, he wasn't late. The match wouldn't start until he arrived, so even if he arrived at 10 minutes after, he wasn't late. But for the record, he arrived two minutes before ten, so in theory he was early and in his defense he did have a lot farther to walk on a Saturday morning. "Hey, Mamie, Happy Saturday! Do we need a referee?" Apollo asked because it had been something he'd been thinking about but hadn't actually voiced. |

"Hi, Apple!" she said brightly. "Why would we need a referee?" Was he planning to cheat? Did he think she was going to cheat? She was pretty sure she could win, fair and square. Unless, like, Apollo had gotten a fancy new broom or even faster over the summer or something. Which, while possible...didn't matter. She wasn't going to cheat anyway. That would ruin the fun of competition. |

Okay, maybe he was a little nervous. |

He did seem...very concerned about the referee. And she didn't mind having a referee, except that nobody else was here. If he'd just...brought a friend, to referee their race, then it wouldn't be a discussion. "Do you want me to go see if Mr. Kazmi is busy?" He was right, it was just for fun, but he seemed very worried about it. And it wouldn't be fun if Apollo was worried. Plus, Kazmi would probably be the best referee, after all. With his expert broom knowledge. Maybe they should race to Kazmi's office as a warm-up. |

He shook his head. "No, i don't think ... we shouldn't bother him on the weekend. I guess we don't need one." It was just a fleeting thought he'd had on the walk from the towers and he probably shouldn't have vocalized it. "So uh... just to the end of the training area and back?" |

She grinned brightly. "Yes, one lap? It'll be like a sprint!" But flying. Instead of swimming or running. She was definitely better at short distances than long ones. Her starts and stops had gotten a lot better since she'd started her keeper training. Agility, it was called. She mounted her broom. "Do you want to call the start?" |
Quote:
A sprint. That ought to get the blood flowing, he followed her lead in mounting his broom after and his eyes widened. Was she trying to distract him with the counting?? She wouldn't do that though, yet just to be safe, "Maybe we should call the start together. On the count of three. One .... two..." He started and waited for her to join in, as he prepared to kick off. |

She really wanted to win, but, like, keepers didn't usually have to sprint. So it didn't really matter. |
