Default Flying Lesson 1 - Flip

It's closing in on sunset, and the sky is starting to darken. As the sun goes down, the October air feels a little on the brisk side, but though the sky is overcast, there's no rain due. So that's something.

Inside the Training Area, you'll soon find the space gradually lights up via some untraceable source once night starts to fall. Professor Kazmi - or Mr Kazmi, he doesn't mind which - can be clearly seen waiting for students at his usual spot along the perimeter of the area. He stands with his arms folded, watching the sky as he waits for students to arrive, and with a small selection of back-up brooms nearby for those who forget to bring their own or to collect one from the broomshed.

Also clearly visible is the large bouncy net stretched up above, which you may be familiar with from some of last term's flying lessons. As usual, it spans almost the entire area, about thirty feet or so above ground level, leaving some space to fly up and around to reach the sky above. Don't worry about the net. The net is your friend.

Gather round, students. Kamran will be starting this lesson at six o'clock sharp.

_____

OOC: Welcome to the first RPed Flying lesson of the term. There would have been Flying lessons all term up to this point, and your character should know Kamran by now. Be sure to read the rules before posting. I'll be kicking things off in about 24 hours.

CLASS PROGRESSION:
Question 1: What's the best part of flying/what might other people enjoy about flying?
Question 2: When might flips and tricks be useful, or appropriate to the situation?
Activity: Follow the lights
- Reactions/responses/feedback
Activity: Catch the lights (pink team vs orange team)
Class dismissed

V had begged for a broom this past summer.

Flying was her FAVORITE class, and she disliked the school provided brooms sooOOooooo much. Yet, her parents had said no. This year, if she managed to do better in school, she would get one next summer. However, she was planning on revisiting the discussion at Christmas, and therefore she had been keeping up SLIGHTLY better in all the academic classes. She was doing MOST of her homework and even reading half of all the readings! Which was LOADS better than last term!

So it was with her usual huffy self that she arrived with a school broom at the lesson. She was always huffy about the school brooms.

"Good evening, Professor Kazmi," she said with a nod of her head at a professor that she very much respected.

Now that Claudine had her own broomstick once again - thanks to that overly kind boyfriend of hers - she was looking forward to lessons without fear of the school brooms not obeying her commands or falling apart while she used one of them. Completely confident about that evening's lesson, she soon brought herself to the Training Area. "Hi, Professor. Lost something?" she asked brightly. The Slytherin was comfortable with Kazmi enough to make a small joke with him.

Her gaze went around to the set up, noting the net in place. There wasn't really anything else that stood out or nothing to give away the topic of today's lesson. Not a problem. It wouldn't be long until she found out.

SUMMER FOREVER

Valentina didn't have her own broomstick unfortunately.. which meant she had to pick one from the school broomshed, which was a little frustrating to say the least. The school brooms were always unpredictable. Ugh. Aaaaanyway!! She soon found herself at the training area, glancing up at the net for a moment before giving the professor a bright smile.

"Hello, Professor! Hope you are well." She noticed V, waving at her enthusiastically.

... He really should have given up on this class already. Even with the book suggestions from Professor Aguilar from over the summer, Evan was a fairly bad flier. He'd really been hoping he could have learned better techniques from print alone, but no dice. Who could have guessed? Except everyone.

As per his usual, he left the castle fairly early in order to get down to the broom shed and pick out a broom for today's use. He'd spent some time trying to figure out which the best brooms were, but frankly... if there were some better than others, they were wasted on him. So he took to just grabbing whatever was available and making his way back towards the pitch. As he approached closer, he could see the net - which always did provide a better sense of security - and a bunch of his peers already gathering. Evan checked his watch just to confirm he wasn't yet late, before breathing a sigh of relief once he saw it was still before 6.

He offered head nods to those he knew as he passed, making sure to give proper greeting to the Flying Instructor. "Hello, Professor Kazmi." He would say something along the lines of 'looking forward to class' or 'excited to be here' but... he was fairly positive that after his poor performance thus far this term - both would have known how insincere the sentiment, despite how much he liked the instructor. He found himself a spot to stand while waiting for class to begin.

it's either adhd or wrackspurts <3 <3 lily luna's mom has got it going on

Back in first year, Eden had been delighted at the idea of flying. For obvious reasons, her excitement did not last long. She'd never really caught up in the subject; it'd taken her a good bit of last term to even bother giving flying another chance.

Yet here she was in all her bitter, tiny glory. She was a witch, and witches got to fly, and dag nabbit she wasn't going to just live up to stereotypes and not be good at something because she was a muggleborn. Jaysus, look at Mamie (Margaret?).

So. She walked onto the pitch as the light faded from the sky around them. Armed with a splintery school broom because she wasn't rich and copper cauldrons came before brooms. Bundled up from head to toe in her school uniform + leggings + sweater + scarf + beanie. She didn't care if people thought she was doing too much. Being up in the air and exposed to all the wind in the dark sounded COLD.

"Evening, professor." She liked Kazmi.

Ash was very comfortable with flying. It felt natural to her, and the fact that she had enough money to replace her expensive broom sure didn’t hurt. She had no business owning a broom like that, really. She wasn’t a quidditch player. But she didn’t trust the school brooms much, and... honestly her broom was a bit of a status symbol. And it had to do with being a muggleborn and having her broom exploded... she didn’t really wanna explain it. She was comfortable flying, that was the point.

She took a spot next to her friends, waving at Eden, Evan, and Claudine and nodding at everyone else. “Hey Mr. professor Kazmi. You’re not gonna make us all barf are you? Not to worry. I haven’t even had lunch!” Was he concerned by that statement? He should be.

Lately Serena's spirit was gloomier than her normal gloomy. She couldn't stop thinking about her conversation with Lisa. And for some terribly ANNOYING reason she couldn't stop the feelings that came with that.

Serena was sad.

And angry. Angry at Jasper and his stupid charm.

UGGGGGGHHHH.

Anyway, she was here. In a mood. Ready to fly. "Hello, Professor," she greeted with a stoic nod.

She stopped beside V and nudged her lightly. "We should race sometime."

Also overcast? Kinsay James. Or maybe the right word was downcast. They sounded the same.

But she was really trying not to be. She was trying the best way she knew how: by being SILLY! So of course she walked right up to Mr. Kazmi and moved to stand right beside him, folding her arms and looking up to the sky, wearing the same serious expression that he wore.

... Only after a moment or two, she turned to look over at him instead. "What are we doing?" Because if they were looking for rain, they'd probably feel it before they saw it. And it was kind of hard to look for things when you didn't know what you were looking for.

Quinn was not excited or prepared for this flying lesson. She still hadn't grasped the whole.... everything about it. She was still terrified of flying, especially after falling hard into a rapidly deflating pool of water first year. So, yeah. Heights weren't exactly her friend.

And the advisement against dinner was not helping her all that much.

Quinn shuffled out onto the training area with a borrowed broom from the broomshed held tightly to her body. She was wrapped in a very large sweater under her robes to fight off the autumn chill. She also made sure that her robe sleeve slipped down her arm enough to expose the pink bracelet on her wrist.

Eyes nervously glued to the net above her, Quinn shuffled past the professor towards her friends. "Er... h-hello, Professor..." Quinn came to a stop next to Eden, rather nervous about what the task for the evening would be. Hopefully nothing too high up....or full of dips and loop-de-loops....

Flying was not Bella's favourite lesson. She would have opted out of the class if her mum hadn't made it clear that she couldn't. With an unpredictable school broom in hand that she had collected from the broomshed Bella quietly headed into the training arena for the evening's lesson. Dragging her feet, the dark haired 13 year old snakette eventually joined the group of student's around their flying instructor. "Good evening Professor Kazmi!" She mumbled out in greeting with a weak smile. Taking in the bouncy net above them, she feared that she wouldn't get out of the lesson without bruises.

Having no aspirations to take flying anywhere outside of these lessons, not even a broom for a mode of transportation, Atlas was not in possession of a broom and therefore had needed to nab one before heading over to the lesson proper. Keeping it hugged against his chest, he found himself grinning at the sight of the net, which had indeed become like a reliable friend, and what possibilities lay with its presence. Hugging his borrow broom to his chest, the Gryffindor came to a stop beside his housemate and offered Valentina a small smile in greeting.

This time of day was rather inconvenient though...considering this was his usual food time and all he could think about were warm bread rolls smothered in gravy with green peas sandwiched inside. Also pudding. Maybe some roast beef too. Basically...food. He wasn't ravenous enough to start gnawing on his broom at least.

There had been a wave there somewhere for the professor, but mostly the Gryffindor was curious as to what Professor Kazmi had planned that he was concerned would cause them all to throw up.

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

He already knew this but Flying class had turned out to be Daniel's worst subject. Last year he had been eager to learn despite falling off of his broom multiple times but one could keep up the enthusiasm for only so long until they became frustrated. Still, Professor Kazmi should be proud of him that he was back again. If there was one word that didn't describe the Hufflepuff it was a quitter.

He had a bottle of water in one hand and a school broom in the other as he made his way to the training area. The large net stretched up above was something he was familiar with from last term's lessons and he rolled his eyes as he overheard Kinsay asking what they were going to do today. Weren't they going to find out soon anyway? Why she gotta ask now? Still, the second year stood around, waiting for an answer as well.

Dahlia made her way out onto the grounds and towards the training area that was set up for this evenings flying lesson, her broom in hand and a spring in her step. Her hair was pulled back into a tight french braid to hopefully keep it out of her face. It was a distraction she really didn't need. Merlin already knew she was one of those that had experienced her fair share of crash landings and than some. Somehow, someway, she tended to end up injured even if it was only a small scrape or a bruise.

"Good evening, Professor," Lia greeted Kazmi warmly with a bright smile as she walked closer to stand near everyone else. Bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet, she glanced around to see if there were any hints other than the nets above them on what might take place during the lesson. There wasn't. At least, nothing that she had noticed. Unless this lesson had something to do with it being evening time.. which it mostly likely did.

It was spooky season. Alfie had fully leaned into that. It was October, which meant it was almost Halloween. It was chilly. And now it was that perfect spooky time of night where it wasn’t quite sunset but getting darker. Shadows were more pronounced. The branches of trees on the ground looked like the fingers of monsters reaching out to snatch unsuspecting children. It was great.

“Hello professor,” Alfie greeted cheerfully when he entered the training area. He was looking forward to flying and learning new things. He glanced around for any of his friends to stand by. There was Daniel, his roommate. He gave him a wave. He could probably walk back with him and the rest of their dormmates. And there was Kinsay. Alfie smiled at her. Then he spotted V and decided to head her way. “Hi V!” Alfie was in a good mood today.

Despite this being one of his worst classes, performance wise, Jacob still valued Flying as a valuable skill he might need in the future. Certainly he wanted to be able to boast that there was one thing in the world he could do a bit better than Benzi.

The seventh year - still strange, still so strange - arrived with his old broom in hand, just a tad newer than the school brooms. It had been his mother's during her school days, and the only advantage it had over the school brooms was that it listened to him. And it didn't try to toss him off. Mostly. It was an old friend by now. Sometimes friends disagree, and he was used to it.

"Evening professor," he nodded towards Professor Kazmi, and gave Kinsay James a wide berth as he settled somewhere to the left of the group. That was Matty's problem, and Jacob didn't want to get involved.

Heath still didn't love flying, but he had gained some confidence in the subject over the past term, maybe even enough to want his own broom someday. For now, the school brooms would have to do. He took a quick glance around as he approached the training area, but so far, the only thing out of the ordinary that he noticed about this lesson was the timing. Funny time for a flying lesson, he thought. Were they going to learn about night flying? He couldn’t think of any other possible reason to hold a flying lesson so late! He wasn’t sure whether to be worried or intrigued by that idea… slightly more the latter at this point, but that could change.

“Hello, Professor Kazmi,” he greeted. Noticing the professor looking at the sky, he too glanced up. “Expecting the weather to change?” he asked.

Heath found a spot to stand next to Claudine. “Hi,” he greeted her and everyone else standing nearby with a slight smile. His smile grew as his eyes landed on the broom in her hand. It always warmed his heart to see her using the broom he gave her. “How’s the broom handling?”

Ah, here came the students, and still with plenty of time to spare. Kamran nodded back to the second year as she arrived. "Good evening, Miss Gellar."

He'd noticed the continued use of the school brooms. Being that he was always keeping an eye out to make sure the first years weren't trying to pull a (very obvious) fast one, he'd formed a habit of taking note of what the older students turned up with as well, just out of curiosity. Had he thought about it, Kamran might have expected Gellar to be the type to show up in second year with her own broom, but he tried to avoid assumptions about why that wasn't the case. Could be he'd judged it wrong entirely.

Kamran allowed a small smile at that. "Hello, Miss Blaze. No, I haven't lost anything." And here was one of those students who always seemed to be particularly enthusiastic, if not about flying then just in general, about life. Nam may have believed he ought to have given up on flying, but the fact that he hadn't was promising. Made him exactly the kind of student Kamran most appreciated - the type who persevered. Kamran recalled thinking a similar thing about the boy's sister last year, the young one who was uncomfortable with heights.

The Ravenclaw received a nod in greeting. "Hello, Mr Nam. Good to see you here." Little additional encouragement could go a long way.

Tilly had probably made a wise move here. Kamran didn't usually go out of his way to tell the students to bundle up for his classes, even when the weather started to turn. Partly because he seldom noticed the cold so much, and partly because it helped to get used to flying in the cold, as it was not the warmest of passtimes. He trusted them to figure out their own limits, regardless.

"Good evening, Miss Tilly," Kamran greeted the Ravenclaw, pleased to see her sticking with the class. Witches did get to fly, no matter how far back through their heritage magical ability could be found.

"Hello, Miss Fox." One of the natural flyers, and, as another muggle-born, one of those students certain groups might have learnt a lot from. Just as any child born with magical ability possessed the automatic right to practice it, so too could they do everything their magically-heritaged peers could do. Like fly, of course, some of them with just as much natural skill as they might have for art, or writing, or musical theatre. And the ones without the natural skill? Just as much of a right to learn.

"Hm, I hope not. It's not in the lesson plan." Not exactly. Kamran had no desire to deal with the contents of anyone's stomachs - hence the advice on his lesson notice - but he was sure everyone would be fine. It was just a precaution. Still... these things happened sometimes. "... Please make you have plenty for dinner after this lesson, in that case."

Ravenclaws. Honestly.

UGGGGGGHHHH.

Anyway, she was here. In a mood. Ready to fly. "Hello, Professor," she greeted with a stoic nod.

She stopped beside V and nudged her lightly. "We should race sometime."

Some students were easier to read than others. This particular student was not one of them, but Kamran still wondered if maybe he detected something slightly different to usual as she joined the class. Or he was inventing things, trying too hard to see them. Hard to say.

"Hello, Miss Baltazar-Dos Santos."

... Only after a moment or two, she turned to look over at him instead. "What are we doing?" Because if they were looking for rain, they'd probably feel it before they saw it. And it was kind of hard to look for things when you didn't know what you were looking for.

Kamran glanced down at this one, with a raise of the eyebrow and just the shadow of a smirk, breaking that oh-so-serious composure. For all that James' best friend hated his guts, Kamran was glad the girl herself didn't automatically fall into the same pattern out of habit and loyalty. It... he just figured maybe he was luckier than others, in that sense.

"Good evening, Miss James. Right now we're just looking at the sky." Or at least, Kamran was. Not to be a total cliche or anything, but he enjoyed watching the sky, especially in these transitional times of day, even when it was overcast like this. "I like to appreciate the predictably unpredictable from time to time."

SPOILER!!: Quinn

"Hello-..." Kamran quickly caught himself, and checked Kingsley's bracelet before ending up proceeding automatically, as he tended to do with the students. The pause was maybe half a beat. "-... Miss Kingsley." One of the nervous ones. Perfectly understandable, but Kamran wasn't sure those nerves were likely to vanish once the lesson started. He had tried to accommodate for the students who lacked confidence or ability (or both), but it remained to be seen if those efforts would be successful. If nothing else, it might be something nice to look at.

He thought about adding a comment to assuage any worries, but quickly decided he was better not calling attention to anything - or missing the mark and saying the wrong thing entirely - so settled for sending a faint smile her way before turning his attention to the next student.

Some of these kids, you'd think flying was the new detention. Kamran understood... or, well, no, he didn't understand. He'd loved flying all along, but he could empathise with those who didn't. It wasn't for everyone, and he was just glad that the ones who didn't love it still stuck it out.

Even if they sometimes seemed like they wished they could be anywhere but here.

"Good evening, Miss Connolly."

Thank you, Flamsteed, no gnawing on the broom handles. Or the tail twigs. Or any flying apparatus. Or the net. It was likely to cause terrible indigestion and Kamran was not prepared for dealing with finding teeth marks where they ought not to be. If he did get so ravenous, maybe some of the surrounding grass would tide him over in a pinch.

"Evening, Mr Flamsteed," he greeted the boy, a nod to his wave. Kamran took note of the darkening sky again - the early twilight looking deeper than it really was thanks to the fact that the lights in the Training Area were gradually coming on - and checked his watch. Still a few minutes yet.

As it happened, Kamran was proud that Yoon was sticking with it, approved of his tenacity just did when the boy pressed on with flying lessons last year, despite the difficulties he found with it. Hufflepuffs, he'd found, could be just as determined as Slytherins. Probably part of that whole work ethic thing.

"Evening, Mr Yoon," Kamran greeted the boy. Another thing he had right: they'd find out the topic of the lesson soon enough. Aka, not yet.

"Good evening, Miss Donovan," Kamran said to the Ravenclaw as she joined them, pleased to note her enthusiasm had still not been dampened. Merlin knew he was familiar with this student's history with, uh... hitting the ground, so it would have been understandable had she been as reluctant to fly as some of the others were. But no, he liked this.

He looked briefly up at the net and the sky once more, and then again at his watch.

Ramsey could often be relied on to bring some of the energy, which Kamran had a quiet appreciation for. Sometimes what the uncertain ones needed was just to be in the vicinity with someone who had with this kind of attitude.

And sometimes it got on their last nerve, to the point Kamran half expected someone to be pushed off a broom, but so far that hadn't happened. At least, not while he'd been looking.

"Hello, Mr Ramsay."

Let the record show that this was another attitude Kamran appreciated; though he himself had taken to flying for sport and as a career beyond that, he did try to drive home to these students that flying was such a useful practical skill to have, well worth the time and effort.

He nodded to the seventh year as the boy joined his peers, pleased to see him there, just as with every other student present. "Good evening, Mr Rider-Mae."

SPOILER!!: Heath

And then another Ravenclaw seventh year. Kamran noticed him arrive just after he'd given the sky another glance, and nodded a greeting back to him. "Hello, Mr Jones." This student was another who had proved himself determined in sticking with the subject, and his confidence gains had been noted over the past year - though Kamran could only speak to that period of time. "Nothing like that, no. We should at least stay rain-free today."

Little to suggest otherwise at least, short of a storm rolling in at warp speed.

Then again, even that wouldn't be too surprising.

In the last moments before the lesson was due to start, Kamran had kept a close eye on his watch. He would prefer not to keep the students out any later than necessary, especially as - if they'd heeded the advice in his lesson notice - they were still yet to have dinner. So, keeping to the schedule as tightly as possible, and going over the questions quickly so they could all get up in the air, which they were clearly all eager to do.

On the stroke of six, Kamran looked up again, clearing his throat to indicate it was time. "Alright everyone, let's get started. I hope the lesson time didn't throw off any other plans this evening." And if it had, well... c'est la vie. "The reason for that will be clear soon enough. For now, I'd like you to tell me: in your personal opinion, what's the best part of flying? What's your favourite aspect of it, or really anything you find particularly fun?" Easing them in with something arguably simple... except maybe easing wasn't the word, because it was not going to stay simple for long. But they'd be fine. Probably. Most likely.

And, because he was not fool enough to believe that everyone here loved, or even liked, flying, or necessarily had feelings about it that went beyond practical knowledge, he added, "If you can't think of anything, what do you think other people might enjoy about it?"

OOC: Hello! Thank you all so much for coming to play. Class has now started, any late arrivals will have IC consequences, so if you'd like to avoid that, just play like your character was here the whole time. I'll be moving us on in around 24 hours.

"You don't even have to fly very high before the sound of everyone on the ground is drowned out by the wind," Eden answered politely. Hand-raise and all. Then a lightbulb went off in her head, and she had to quickly get the rest of her answer out before Kazmi moved on. "Actually, no, the best part about flying is that it's an alternative to portkeys."

That invention was part of her magical inheritance she was glad to let go of.

She went back to picking splinters out the handle of her broom, happy that Quinn had chosen to stand next to her.

“Okay, Professor. Thought it might have been a broomstick flying off or something…” Still joking. Catching Ash's wave, Claudine smiled in acknowledgement. While she waited for the lesson to get started, she stared up at the sly for a bit; possibly Kazmi had had a bit of influence there. But it was a pretty evening; the sky was nice to look at anyway. You know what was even better to look at? Heath. “Hi, you.” Claudine brightened up when he asked about her broomstick. “It's great. Best broomstick ever,’’ she told him, happiness and gratitude in each syllable of her words.

Truly, the Snakette could not wait to find out why they were out here at 6 for an evening flying lesson. That would have to wait for a bit longer though. She lifted a hand. “For me, it's the rush of the wind against my face. There’s this feeling of being… free... when I’m flying.” She wasn’t sure how else to describe it but the weight of the world and studies all felt lifted from her when she was in the air.

“You know what, professor? I will. Just because you asked.” She was promising she’d have dinner, and Ashley Fox didn’t like to break promises. Plus, she liked Kazmi. And eating dinner was important so that she wouldn’t become hangry.

She didn’t even have to think about her answer to the question. “I like the adrenaline. It’s the same reason I like surfing. And when I’m flying, I can’t think of anything else. It’s fun and it helps me clear my mind.” Some people liked meditation. Flying was like that.

Lisa was quiet. She had been feeling off the past couple of hours ever since she had confided in Serena about her crush… Being around V and Jasper just made her feel weird so she kinda stood a little bit away from the group with her hand clutching her arm. She had, of course, greeted Professor Kamzi when she came in but it was much less enthusiastic than what she had normally done.

Lost in her thoughts she was.

So when he asked the first question, she had to push herself to participate. Perhaps focusing on the lesson would make her think less about her feelings and weirdness.

It’s freedom. Flying means you aren’t stuck. You can escape… weird situations, feelings, maybe a few creatures too?” she explained with a deadpan facial expression. Oh? She wasn’t talking about herself…. Not just one bit.

SUMMER FOREVER

Ooooh. This was an easy question.

"It helps me to not deal with sad things for a little while. The second I fly, it's just me and my broom. I just don't think about anything." Just like when she danced.. except dance was a lot more expressive. And a much better workout. But, it was silly to compare. ANYWAY.

"Why do you like flying, Professor??" She asked curiously.

The 'good to see you' just resulted in a small smile from the Ravenclaw, before he glanced at his watch again just as Professor Kazmi began the lesson. Which seemed moot then, so he let his arm flop back down by his side. Initially with the question... he had to fight to keep his eyebrows level, because there was nothing he could think of to say. Probably because it was such a struggle for him. While everyone else, Margaret and the rest of the people who played for U17 or just enjoyed it, made it look so effortless.

But then a reprieve was offered in the way of asking why others would like it, and Evan was incredibly grateful for the Professor's forethought on having an alternative question handy. Bless him. Hearing a few other answers, freedom having been his primary expectation for enjoyment, Evan raised his hand to offer another suggestion. "How effortless it can feel for some." If that was taken insultingly, he certainly hadn't meant it. Some seemed to have a natural talent, and Flying didn't seem to take nearly as much fact memorization or interpretation like History of Magic or Ancient Runes. Flying was more emotional, it seemed.

Maybe that's why he was bad at it. And maybe that's why there was the... slightest twinge of bitter to his words. Oops.

It was hard for her to hate people, even when she knew she was supposed to. And she was definitely supposed to hate Mr. Kazmi, but. He didn't seem as mean and terrible as Emm said he was. "Is it doing anything interesting?" The sky? Because Kins didn't see anything worth looking at right now. And she wasn't sure that predictably unpredictable made a whole lot of sense. Predicting the sky is what weathermen were for.

Fortunately with all this, Kins was too distracted to notice the way Coby walked around her without acknowledgement, but she did catch sight of Alfie's big smile and moved to stand near him as Mr. Kazmi began class.

What's the best part of flying? She liked lots of things about flying - but to pick the best? That'd be hard. Flying made her feel invincible and it was a way to connect with her dad and it made her have that swooping feeling in her stomach and it was adventure and excitement and it made everything look so small, even her problems. But she didn't know which answer to give, so instead of replying right away, she thought about it for a moment or two. "It makes me feel big," is what she finally settled on after confidently raising her hand.

But also. "Did wizards invent flying for fun or was it supposed to be practical?" Because Kins had always figured it was the latter, but. And also. She'd rather think about this than ... other stuff that she didn't want to think about. So. Yeah. It had a double purpose maybe. Kind of.
