Default F&Bs Fireplace

In the front corner of the shop is a fireplace. Surrounding the fireplace are two large tables and a number of comfy chairs. When the right weather presents itself, a merrily crackling fire lights up this cozy area. Hang out here for a relaxing read or just to enjoy the warmth when it's cold out.

There Katie was, her unruly dark curls parted down the middle and tied into low pigtails on the back of her neck (not quite the average hair style for a fifteen-year-old girl but it suited her just fine) and a little hand being held firmly in her own as led the way into a rather crowded Flourish and Blotts. Her lips formed a thin line at the sight and, pushing her way through, Katie did her best to guide the little army of midgets and mister-too-tall toward the spacious sitting area around the empty fireplace. "Don't you let go of Johnny's hand, Eddie." She warned in a stern, I'm-Your-Older-Sister-And-You-Better-Listen tone.

They were here to get their school books and play detective as far as Legend was concerned. There was no time for losing and having to go find even one of the five monsters, and Diagon Alley was just too busy for all that nonsense. If she had to, by the look upon her face, Katie was more than willing to glue the children together if it meant bringing them each home the same way she'd brought them here. Minus.. the sticky, stuck together problem that would create. But that was fixable. Going home and telling your mother or Rae that you lost their precious child(s) was not so easily fixed.

Releasing the smallest boy's hand for a moment, Katie straightened her summer-y shirt over the top of her shorts and gave Johnny's hand a little squeeze as he slipped it comfortably back into hers like a good little boy. "So, should we get our books first or interrogate the shopkeeper?" The girl asked, looking up from her brothers and over to Legend.

Erg. Legend was not happy. First of all it was so hot outside that he could feel his shirt clinging to his back because of the sweat. And w hat made it worse was that he was in Diagon Alley with Katie. Again.

What could be worse? Nothing right? Wrong. He did not need the twin terrors holding on to his hand like there was peanut butter between them. It was just annoying. Plus it made it IMPOSSIBLE to brush his hair away from his eyes. It was okay if they got lost. Rari probably could find her way and with Ro gone that meant the house would be a lot more quiet.

Legend really had no clue where Katie was taking them, he only hoped that she wouldn't get them lost in the shop. Short people did that. He was about to make a comment when he REMEMBERED about his plan for this year. His genius plan.

Finally getting annoyed at the slow pace of his brother Legend dropped his hand and held the kid under one arm despite his protests. Stopping at their destination (or what he guessed it was) Legend's eyes trailed over the chairs."Sit. Here." Without another word he plopped Sparrow down on one of the comfy looking chairs. "Got not clue." Legend said with a sigh as he was finally able to get his hair out of his eyes. "Whatever you think is best....tell me why do we have to buy new books again? We can just con the older students out of theirs." He muttered their ready to cry brother.

The number of customers had seemed to abate for the time being and Brett took the reprieve to escape towards the front of the shop where he could keep an eye on any customers that needed help, yet still able to take a few moments of quiet time.

He shrugged off his leather jacket and hung it over one of the chairs before noticing a few others were already there. Maybe he wouldn't get that break after all. Besides, he very well couldn't ignore the customers. "Did you need help with anything?" He inquired, leaning against the back of the chair.

"Legend, that's not practical-" Katie started to say while the little girl she held on her left hip shifted and wiggled around on purpose, causing her to almost immediately set her down. The kid was just TOO big to carry for long periods of time and as long as she didn't plan wander, Katie couldn't care less.

Once on her own two feet, Lucianna Mae quickly went around to the chair Legend had dropped an upset Sparrow into and leaned forward on it, facing the blonde boy. She held out a hand, murmuring, "Is Roro okay?"

The tiny brunette boy that latched onto Katie's hand nearly jumped out of his shorts when a deeper, unfamiliar male voice spoke and the curly blonde haired boy to Johnny's right let go of his hand and found his way to miss Robin Chosen. Katie noticed, but paid them no mind and after glancing toward Legend once again, turned her attention to who she assumed was the Shopkeeper. "Uhm, yeah. I think so. You're Brett?" Legend should probably already know that, Katie figured. But it was strange to her, he was big and tough looking and Legend's eldest sister was a rather small woman who came off as completely innocent and sane compared with the family (as well as family-friends) she'd been born to.

Legend snorted. "Being practical is over rated." He was about to get ready to relax when a man suddenly appeared out of no where. So this was Brett right? It had to be. Legend's eyes narrowed and he jumped out of his seat to face the man.

He could feel the tears about to pour and he was trying his best to hold them back, but it wasn't working. He hadn't liked when his older brother "Gend" had tossed him on the chair. He didn't even like when he had picked him up. It was scary. Ro sniffled as the tears finally began to run down his face. "Not okay." He hiccuped and he reached out for Lucy's hand.

Rari was so excited, her brown eyes jumped from book to book. This place looked SO cool. Like the library close to their house. It was full of books, she knew that her big brother would get her at least one but she wouldn't even be able to decide which one. Would she even be able to read them!?"Any of these for little kids?" She asked quietly to the man who had just arrived. The words had barely come out of her mouth when she heard the OH so familiar sound of her LITTLE brother crying. "He's fine Lucy. Just being a big baby. Again." Some times Ro was sweet. But usually he was just annoying. "Right Eddie?" The five year old asked as she saw the mop of curls approach her.

Legend turned back and looked at his siblings. "SH!" He needed QUIET while he was doing this. He had to ask the right questions. Facing Brett again he glared at him. He would interrogate this dude until....he was tried of interrogating him. And Katie had better help out."My sister Artie tells me that you are friends. Is that true?"

Well, this certainly wasn't what he expected to walk into. His gaze moved from one point to another as small children moved across the floor. Looking down as a small voice piped up near him, Brett squatted down to be eye level with the girl. "Not these; but there are lots of children books upstairs." He replied with a smile. "Looking for anything in particular?"

The question had barely left his lips when the older girl and boy spoke up, one inquiring of his identification and the other asking if he were friends with Artie.

Straightening back up slowly, he nodded towards the girl. "Yes, I am." And then to the boy, who was looking at him with what could be described as irritation. "Your sister's Artie?" Despite the seemingly hostile stare, Brett smiled. "Nice to meet you. And..yes, we are friends." He hadn't spoken to Artie in a while. He would definitely have to pay her a visit.

Being practical is over rated? "Legend. I don't even know what to say to that." Yeah, he'd stumped her alright. But not because it was a smart remark, on the contrary she found too many flaws and didn't know where to begin. Not to mention, this was not the place nor time with five 5-year-olds to keep an eye on in a busy bookstore.

Lucy frowned, saddened by the look on Ro's face. He was not okay, nope. His feelings were hurt. Lucy liked Legend. Legend was cool. But Legend was a BIG boy and Lucy thought that sometimes he forgot how much bigger he was and how much more grown up he was compared with Ro, so he treated him like a BIG boy too. And Ro was not a big boy, he was a little boy. Uuuhuh. "That's not nice, Rari!" Blonde strands whipped around the little girl's face as she shook her head. Climbing up on Ro's chair, Lucy sat on the edge and took his hand in hers, using her other to wipe at his face. "It's okay, Ro. It's okay."

"Uuh," Stuck between two sisters. HM. Eddie nodded his head and shrugged his shoulders at the same time, hoping that would be enough to satisfy Rari and not get him in trouble with Lucy. When he got older, 'No comment' would surely become his favorite thing to say.

And so the interrogation begins. As Legend started in on Brett, Katie took that as they would get their course books later and glanced from one male to the other. Though she was surprised Legend was actually glaring at the older man, it never registered on her face that this was at all something unusual or unexpected. She probably should have expected it. Legend was the younger brother, but he was just as protective of his sisters as an older brother would be.

Having just watched Brett speak to Rari, Katie couldn't help but thing of the saying 'looks can be deceiving'. Talking to the little girl, he didn't seem as though he could be big or bad. Well, maybe not big. He had the height thing going for him, but that was besides the point! "She is," Katie agreed, nodding lightly as she studied the man a bit. "Nice to meet you, Brett. Or should we call you by your last name?" That would be more formal. Something Mrs. Sulo was never very concerned with. "Anyway. I'm Katie Mae, family friend of the Chosen's and he's Legend." She gestured dismissvely at the taller figure she'd just named.

"I know right? I amaze everyone with my logic and awesomeness." Legend muttered grinning toward Katie. She had set her self up for that one. And he could have said MUCH worse things. But that would not go with his plans. Nope. Not at all.

Ro nodded sniffling quietly as Lucy sat down and took his hand. Sometimes he wished that Lucy was his twin. She was just nicer and didn't get annoyed with him. Not like Rari. "Thank you Lu." He had only just gotten here and he wanted to go home. It wasn't fun. Gaze turning to Eddie who seemed to be stuck in the middle Ro sniffled again. "You better be on my side. Your my friend Eddie."

Ohh! The man didn't seem as bad as Legend was making him out to be. Legend looked at the man like he was gonna fight him or something but he seemed kind. "Um. I'm not sure but I like books with words. Not pictures. Any books." Rari said to the man. Hmm what were Jul's favorite books? Maybe she could get some of his favorites and then they could read them together. Rari rolled her eyes at her brother. He was acted younger than he was. She never understood how they could possibly be the same age. "Eddie. Answer. Uh is not a word." And she would know. She read books.

Hmm. Was it nice to meet this dude? Legend wasn't so sure. He was here on business. His head quickly whipped toward Katie giving her a GLARE. WHY had she said his name? GAH. GIRLS! "Go...get the books or something." He muttered angrily at her. She had RUINED his whole plan and persona. Clearing his throat he glanced back at the Brett. "No. You aren't friends. I get to decide if you guys are friends or not. So tell me. Why should I allow you to be my sister's friend?" Protective mode was obviously in full blast.

Brett nodded a greeting in Katie Mae’s direction as she introduced herself. “Nice to meet you, and yes, you can call me Brett if you would like.” She seemed like a sweet girl, but he wasn’t entirely sure about the boy, even if he was Artie’s brother.

Brett smiled at the young girl again as she piped up, declaring that she liked books with words in them, but no pictures. “Alright then…well, we have just those kinds of books upstairs. Maybe Katie Mae or Legend will take you there once we finish our conversation? Or I could go with you all and show you some of our more popular ones.”

Eyebrow raised as Legend shot a look at Katie Mae, Brett crossed his arms looking silently on. What exactly was this all about? Moments later, he found out exactly what was going on. Ah. Well, this was certainly a sight to behold; younger brother protective of older sister. He, himself, didn’t know what that was like as he had no siblings. It probably would have been better if he had had a brother or sister though; maybe his parents wouldn’t have gone through such a rough time when he was the young, rebellious kid. An older sibling probably would have put him in his place a long time ago. Or maybe not, maybe they would have been just as bad.

He frowned slightly at this thought and then adjusted his stance, leaning forward. “Well, Legend, I really can’t tell you why you should let me be your sister’s friend. You’ll just have to take my word for it, or just follow me to see what sort of person that I am. I do have a word of caution for you though. I can understand you wanting to make sure that your older sister isn’t hurt in some way, but she is a woman and can take care of herself, her heart included.”

"Define 'everyone'," Katie retorted quietly, though hardly paying attention to Legend while shifting her weight from one foot to the other. The teenage girl grabbed the arm of the little boy at her side and gently tugged him in front of her, wrapping her arms around his little frame as he crossed his arms over hers and leaned back.

Rather than say anything, Lucy just nodded her head and continued to wipe the falling tears from his rosy red face. "Hugs!" She declared once abandoning the losing battle, holding her arms out to him.

Yes, because hugs and cuddles and love would fix Ro right up.

Uh is not a word. "Since when?" Eddie asked with a look that clearly said Rari was an absolute nutter, "If 'UH' wasn't a word, then how can I say it? It has to be a word! You missed it. Yeah, that's it! You missed it in that.. book you read last," the five-year-old rambled on like he knew exactily what he was talking about, pausing as if he had forgotten where he was going with it.. because he had. "Answer what?"

He'd better be on Ro's side? For WHUT? Eddie groaned loudly. "Now theres sides, too?"

Katie's eyebrows raised when Legend glared at her, clearly not very pleased with her for reasons she hadn't a clue over and didn't have the chance to find out because just as soon as the look came, he was ordering her away like she was some servant girl he could demand to go here and go there.

OH NO HE DID NOT JUST SAY THAT TO HER!

If looks could kill.. Katie let out an annoyed huff-y noise, her dark eyes narrowed on the blonde. "Do I look like a house elf to you, Chosen?" She asked, keeping her tone quiet and emotionless. She was not going to be loud, oh no. Not in a bookstore with Legend's sister's friend and the five monsters right there. Didn't mean she wasn't going to get her point across either, though. "I don't know if Malachi or Hazel let you talk to them that way nor do I care, but you are not going to treat me that way." Behind the fury, she was hurt. To those who knew her well enough that was obvious. They had just gotten through a rough year and they were suppose to be friends again. Sighing, Katie hugged little Johnny closer and remembered neither she or Legend had answered Brett's suggestion toward the youngest Chosen female, "We'll take you upstairs when Legend is through talking to Brett, Rari."

Legend was really serious about the whole issue of the Flourish and Blotts bookstore owner being friends with his older sister, and although she didn't know Brett and couldn't possibly have a real opinion on him even now after just meeting him, and even though he was being VERY protective, Katie didn't blame Legend. "Her heart included?" Katie repeated after Brett, glancing to Legend with a slight frown. She didn't need to see the look on his face to know the boy was NOT going to like what the man said.

Not able to find anything in the bookshelves, maybe it was the fact that he hadn't look properly anyway. Who really care what was the real reason why he was empty hand, Mat was still lurking around when he heard some familiar voice. Yep, he could recognized them anywhere and it seems by the sound of it that they were having a discussion, sort of, with the shopkeeper. He could recognized the man but he wasn't sure if mister Carlen would know who he was.

Walking toward Legend, he nudge the boy on the shoulder. "Hey dude!! What's going on?" Turning his head he smile at Katie but then as he was about to stuck out his tongue at her he heard the phrase 'her heart included?'

UHH?? What was really going here? Who's heart? WHAT??

Taking one step closer to Katie, he whisper softly to her. "What is going on here? What are you guys talking about?" He didn't like not knowing, not at all!!

And there. She said it. The word that made everything better. Without even thinking Ro quickly wrapped his arms around the girl who was basically his sister. Now he felt much better. It was like his mommy always said, hugs cured everything. "There always has to be sides." He directed toward the Eddie.

Rari grinned. MORE BOOKS. She really liked this place is was a good place. "Yesh. Thank you Mister Brett." Turning to Katie she grinned. "You wanna take me?" Katie was Juls's twin! She would know what books he would like! And then they could read together.

And ignore her twin.

Why couldn't she have a twin like Julian? "Eddie. Uh. Is NOT a word! I don't miss words when I read! Ms.Hart says that I read at a third grade level!" Pssh. Third grade readers didn't miss words. "Who's side Eddie?" The boy was trying to stall obviously.

HUH Her HEART what did he mean by that? What did her heart have anything to do with anything? Friend's didn't care about other friend's hearts! Yeah. He didn't like this guy. Legend crossed his arms obviously trying to look tough. He couldn't win a fight with Brett even if he tried anyways. But he at least wanted to look the part. "I don't care if she's a woman. She has been through way to much in her lifetime and I never want to see her hurt again. She doesn't need any fake friends or people hurting her." Glaring at the man he took a few moments to let this sink in. "And she SURE as heck doesn't need anyone saying anything about her HEART. Because friends don't talk to other friend's about each other's hearts." He never did with his friends. So why was this guy concerned about Arties? It just didn't sit well with him. "Artie has never had anyone to look out for her. But guess what Brett? Now she does. And guess what else? Your not proving anything to me right now." This guy had about 10 more seconds to actually say something that mattered before he was out of here.

Oh. He still had to get books.

Katie. Oh. He had hit a nerve. Legend causally turned to Katie a frown evident on his face. He hadn't meant what he had just said but he could tell now that the older girl did NOT like it one bit.

Her face clearly showed it.

Closing his eyes the Gryffindor took a deep breath. He needed to get his act together he couldn't make another year like the last. No. Then he'd be back on medication. Plus. That was just gonna ruin his plan. "No you don't. I'm sorry Katie. I shouldn't have said that. I had no right..." He muttered quietly.

A nudge at his side brought him out of his thoughts. Giving a slight nod to Mat he couldn't think of what else to do. He was annoyed, and sad and...

GRRR he did not like Brett.

Now this was getting just a tad bit ridiculous. The smaller children conversing between themselves, and then Katie Mae becoming fired up over whatever Legend had said to her; his words having not been discernible thanks to the din in the bookshop along with his lowered voice. Then another boy joined the fray, obviously friends with Legend or Katie or both.

He tossed a brief smile towards the young girl as he received a thank you in response to his offer to help her find the books upstairs. "You're welcome."

For a moment, Brett was taken aback by Legend's comments on fake friends and Artie being hurt in the past. He said nothing until after Legend had spoken to Katie Mae, though he wondered during that time why this boy seemed to have it out for him. He was not certain as to how Artie had been hurt in the past, but he certainly had no intentions to do anything that would cause her pain. They were friends, and had been for four years.

He leaned some of his weight on the chair in front of him, clasping his hands together, his gaze leveled at the boy. "I can understand your concerns." He began. "And you may not believe me when I say this, but I do not intend to hurt Artemis nor am I being a fake friend."

He cleared his throat slightly as he glanced back towards the counter before speaking again, his voice taking on a hard edge that was nearly undetectable. "And lastly. I'm afraid that I don't have to prove anything to you, young man. You may think that I do, but I don't. Maybe you should give someone a chance before judging them. Might lead to a more pleasant conversation."

With that, he straightened up. "Though I"m afraid that this is hardly the time for such emotional conversation. So I ask: do any of you need schoolbooks or any other books?"

Scarlet sat slumped in one of the comfy chairs next to the book store fireplace. She had looked EVERYWHERE in the whole shop without finding any book on cooking either muggle or magical. It was frustrating and not a little irritating. Scarlet hadn't asked the shopkeeper because she didn't have a particulat book title in mind and besides it was highly embarrassing to have to make herself learn how to cook let alone ask for assitance. All her life house elves had done that for her so why couldn't it stay that way?

Nathaniel appeared from the fireplace with a grin. His lopsided, broad grin illuminated his pale face, as he untangled himself from the confines and brushed off the dirt that had caked on his sweater. Flooing was extremely exciting. EXTREMELY exciting. He enjoyed it very much.

He walked into the store with one purpose. To replace his copy of A Tale of Two Cities. It'd gone missing in the estate and he was not in the mood to search through the libraries for it. He would end up losing a ton of books by trying to find the original and it would just be easier to buy an entirely new copy.

Plus, there was a thrill in buying books. The smell of new parchment. It was thrilling.

He walked into the bookstore and stepped in front of a pretty woman in front of him, not noticing her behind him. Oh. These were cooking books. He shook his head. That wasn't right at all. Wait a minute.. he was obscuring someone's view!

"Lord, do excuse me, Madam. I wasn't looking where I was stepping," Nathaniel self-admonished with a sincere, apologetic smile. "Forgive my insolence, it was not intentional." Hopefully, the pretty madam would not take offence.

Scarlet sat in the comfy chair almost curled up if you could do that in a public bookstore. She let her eyes drift over the nearest bookshelf examining the titles. Experimental Charms. Potions. Fast healing for needy mother's.

Erm, not what i wanted exactly unless I was a mother with more than one child. Scarlet kept combing through the rows of books in search for a basic cookbook for beginners. She had just seen a book that looked promising when a man stepped into her viewpoint and caused her to loose track of her book.

Didn't he see HER? How rude? Scarlet was just about to fire off a remark for the man's insolence when he turned to apologise to her. Taking the man's features in she asked a bit unsure "Aren't you Nathaniel who is a divsion head on level 6." With a dissmisive shrug Scarlet added "Don't worry about it. I'm starting to think that it's hopeless to find an easy cookbook in this place."

Why did she tell him that? Now the level six employess could mock her for not knowing how to cook.

Nathaniel practically bounced on the ball's of his feet when he saw who it was.

"Miss Sinclair!" He exclaimed jovially. It was a pleasure to see her. "Do excuse me, I seem to be a little off this morning. No harm was meant.." Nate told her apologetically in regards to the incident. She seemed a little tiffed with him.

"I would be the very one," He replied with a smile. He liked Transportation. It was a Department he'd worked in for a long time and he did enjoy it. Portkeys were always delightful muggle objects. It was like Wonderland!

An easy cookbook? Nathaniel smiled. "I don't think you'll find it here - this is the self-help section." He chuckled lightly and pointed over at the far corner. He knew this bookstore like the back of his hand.
"That way would be your best bet, Miss Scarlett."

Erm?

Scarlet didn't know what to make of the bouncy and excited Nathaniel. He scared her a little. Nobody usually got so upbeat by seeing her. "I accept your apology, Mister Callingham. You just caught me a bit off guard that's all." she said with a small smile as she rose from her chair. "So what brings you to the bookstore?" Scarlet had a feeling that Nathaniel was either the port key or brooms head. So she didn't start babbling about what she felt about that particular means of transporation. She was just glad that Mr Recard hadn't hired her for that position.

Self-help section? Confused Scarlet raised a brow "Self-help section? Um, i thought that involved cookbookes too, no?" She watched where Nathaniel pointed and sighed heavily. That part of the store she hadn't looked in before now.

Nathaniel beamed at her. "My apologies, again, Miss Sinclair. I really did not see you there." He winked and glanced at the shelf. Hum. Where would he find his book! Nate pointed to the very things around them. "Books. I wanted to buy a book." In particular.."My copy of A Tale of Two Cities has gone missing."

He shrugged. "I don't believe a casserole will help you get your karma back on track and help you get your life together.." But the magicals have gotten spells for that too. Cheering charms and such. Nate sometimes thought that magic took it too far. Some things just couldn't be sorted out that simply. At least, in his opinnion.

Pfft? Didn’t really see her there? Well she didn’t exactly stand out against the comfy chair. Nathaniel was there just like her looking for a book. Scarlet moved to scan the same shelf he was looking at "A tale of two cities? Never heard of it? What is it about?" she couldn’t help her curiosity. Scarlet had never been into reading books but that could change if she got the right book.

Karma, get your life back together? So that was what a self-help section contained. She shrugged "Well cooking may not cure bad karma or get your life back together. But it can brighten up a bad day and make things seem less miserable." That’s what her mother had imprinted into her all through her childhood anyway.

"So did you get out of the figurine scare unscathed?"

Nathaniel didn't notice her expression, misinterpreting it as interest about his book. She didn't know Dickens? He gaped at her and then shook his head in mild admonishment. "Goodness, Miss Sinclair!" He frowned and pulled the small book from it's shelf. "To be totally and unfairly concise in the plot of the book, it is essentially about two protagonists' misadventures during the french revolution and is set dually between two cities: London and Paris." He nodded. He would not go into the details as he would not do the book justice. He passed it to her. "I recommend it. Wholly." And Nathaniel only read the best.

Nathaniel shrugged. He didn't believe that the essence of self-help was a good shepherd's pie. "This section is more about spiritual involvement and... discovery." It was interesting, how muggles thought that chanting words could make you feel better. Interesting.
"But I believe the cooking section is just around the corner over there.." He pointed and smiled. "I'll show you." As they began to walk, Nate turned at her question, looking mildly amused. "Ah, the wonders of the wand eh?" He laughed and shrugged. "The Lion wasn't particularly happy with me but I sorted it out in a jiffy. You took quite the fall, Madam. You didn't hurt your ankle?" He looked at her apologetically, quite ungentlemanly of him not to check whether the Miss was alright. Quite.

He looked at her apologetically, quite ungentlemanly of him not to check whether the Miss was alright. Quite.
Scarlet shrugged. She had never been a big book reader hence she had no idea who Dickens was or which books he had written. Nathaniel explained how the book took place during the French revolution and the protagonists misfortunes. Cocking a brow she took the book from albeit a bit unsurely. "Weren’t you going to buy this book?" Scarlet was slightly confused. Why did he recommend her a Dickens book?

Nathaniel changed the subject to the self-help section which it seemed concerned spiritual involvement and discovery. Scarlet mumbled to herself "Something for Auntie Louise then." Auntie Louise was the family psychic or rather spiritualist who was too passionate about divination.

Scarlet let Nathaniel lead the way to the cooking section since he clearly knew his way around the shop almost like a shopkeeper would. The lion seemed to have attacked him while as the badger had caused her to fall to the floor quite hardly. Scarlet made an unconscious move with her hand towards her left ankle. "Thank you for asking. My ankle is fine. I sprained it when the badger attacked but it’s been all healed now."

Oh the wonder’s of magical medicine. "Any idea what caused the figurines to come alive in the first place? The figurines certainly made my first day on the job interesting. But maybe a bit too interesting, wouldn’t you agree?"

Nathaniel nodded. "I've misplaced my copy, hence why I showed up here today to try and find it. It's a good read.. but it might not be your cup of tea." Still, it never hurt to try, did it? Nate frowned at her as she mumbled something about 'Auntie Louise'. "Madam? Who is.. Auntie Louise?" He blinked at her confused and then started to walk.

The man nodded. "Ah, that's good. It's quite uncomfortable spraining the ol' foot. Makes walking and such quite difficult." But with magic, it could all be healed instantaneously. Nate was sure wizards took their skills for granted. Those poor muggles had to suffer through casts and plasters and all sorts of wacky inventions just to heal.

At her question, he had to shrug. In all honesty, the whole fiasco still puzzled him. "I do apologise.. it must've been overwhelming arriving to your first day of work to have four paperweights attack you, but I assure you it doesn't happen all that often." A bit too interesting, he had to agree. "Most definitely. We're still trying to figure it all out, aren't we? It's quite the oddity, isn't it?"

Alex dropped down exhausted in one big comfy chair. He yawned and ran both hands through his hair. No one told him it was this difficult to find Hogwarts supplies?! And it made him jawn just stepping into a book store, it was just letters people no need to freak. He took up his list that he'd gotten and looked at it. If he wasn't such a macho guy, he could just burst in to tears. He hadn't found anything yet! Where were his friends when he needed them.. Humph.
