My mom bought to my sister when we all were about to see P's S. I just read the books months later. Then I became addicted. :sorcerer:

It's funny, my brother had them for years, and I didn't get into them until my friend and I went to the first movie. Then I read all the books and was hooked! :sorcerer:

I didn't know they existed until i saw the movie...i thought it was so magical. And then my friend told me they've been around for a couple of years and that they're more detailed than the movies (obviously). So i read them and i am totally hooked

my now best friend told me about it when we were in the 5th grade. we all had to do a report on a book and she did hers on the 1st harry potter. she even dressed up like Porfesser. McGonagoll (sp? i'm terible with spelling) it took me 6 moths to read the first one, but after that i read each one in about 2 weeks. because of harry potter i've been constantly reading for the past 4 years or so when i first read harry potter. it helped open me up to may other books.

I owe loving HP thanks to my children, they were the ones who saw the ads of the HP and the PS and went mad about getting them to see the movie, so it was kind of late and it was already on DVD so my husband and I rent it for them and we all sat down to see it. Lucky fo me about 1 month later the CoS was released and we all went to the movies to see it. From there I read the following two books in Spanish loving them since the first page up to the last. I have read the fifth in English (due to it hasn't been released in Spanish yet, and love it also) My daughter is reading the third in Spanish but she is too young and suddenly got tired of reading, but still she and my son are waiting to see the third movie, I have already showed them the trailer and they kind of like it a lot.

When I was really young I used to read books that were so easy(I had a high reading level,I started reading chapter books in kindergarten) So my sister said I should try reading Harry Potter. I said to her no way(I didnt like witch stuff when I was little.! And she said how do you know you wont like it? So I tried it and I love it. So now thanks to my sister who wishes she never told me gets annooyed about Harry Potter because I talk about it ALL the time. So it's really thanks to her.

when i was vacationing i didn't have a lot to do, so when i made a friend (one of the few english speakers) she gave me some books to read. the one she recomended to me was Harry Potter. the book seemed a little slow in the beginning, but got good and so then i told my brothers- who wouldn't try it- and i decided to keep reading, which now makes me a very big fan! (i drive my brothers crazy! )

Well a couple of years back on Christmas Day we had some huge bushfires. They blocked off all the roads in and out of our little town for three days so there kinda was nothing to do so I went and borrowed the series off a bud and read them. Once I started I couldn't put them down. I immediately became obsessed. Woo hoo! Something good came out of a bad situation!

I owe it all to my friend, Mariel, who owned a Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone two years ago... I wasn't able to read it back then but then again, HP was not that popular yet from wher I came from... I was able to read all five books just recently... Still, she's the person that introduced HP to me...

My best friends. All my friends were talking about Harry Potter and it was getting on my nerves because I did not like HP. Eventually they stopped talking about it around me and then I was bored one day so I figured I would get a good book to read. I came across Harry Potter GoF. I figured since I was bored (really bored) I would read it. My curiosity got th best of me. I read it and was hooked from that day on. Now I am a huge Harry Potter fan. Harry Potter Rules!!!LOL! Thanks M, J, and K. I owe it all to you. You were the cause of my new obssesion.

My HP fanship is do to another author who is my favorite.. Tamora Pierce in one of her books thanks J.K for getting kids to read again and I figured if Tammy liked J.K's books then I might as well read them. While I still don't like them as well as M.S. Pierce's books I do greatly enjoy them as well as the friendship and since of community we all HP fans have that the Tammy fans donít have, at least not to this existent.

The only thing I could complain about the HP books is that J.K is too rich now; she is writing books more slowly and most likely will not write any more books. Where as Tamora Pierce is not that rich and has written several interweaving series and has plans to keep on writing for the next several decades.

It's funny because I didn't have any knowledge of Harry potter until my grandma bought me the books for Christmas one year. My mom had to persuade me to read them too because the cover didn't look very good and I didn't really like reading back then. But now I've read each book about twice or three times. LOL

I owe it all to my beloved.......MOTHER ! who introduced me to Harry Potter...scary aint it?

here's my story:

i was in the library picking out books about unicorns (hehehe) and then she hands me this book called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone...I was like mom what is this ? my mom said oh its a book i read in the news...its suppose to be a really good book...so i was like y not ..i didnt pay attention to hp until the night before it was due i was like hmmm maybe i shud try and read this book...so i did...i was reading it during the night at like 12:00 and i was like scared to death when i was reading the part about the unicorn blood sucking thing i was like OMG OMG OMG !!!! and i had a divider in my room and i heard this creepy sound and saw a shadow behind the divider....i started screaming in the middle of the night and it ended up being my mom just checking to see if I was asleep or not ....it was the scariest most funniest thing that ever happened...

So ya thanx to my mom I was introduced to Harry Potter !

I trust my mom with everything from that day on !

For me, there was this totally geeky girl at school who always had one of the Harry Potter books with her where ever she went. I always wondered "What is the big deal with these books?" when she would walk by. Well I decided that i was sick of not knowing so I checked one out of the library. Little did I know then that I was soon to become the geeky girl carrying the books around the next year of school.
