I think Hufflepuff. Not Gryffindor, she isn't really brave, not Slytherin, because she might be cunning, but I don't want to think of her as in the same house as Voldemort. And not Ravenclaw, because she is very intelligent, but not so much that it really stood out. I think she is in Hufflepuff because she works very, very hard at her job, and doesn't give up, which are the traits of a Hufflepuff.

Ruby85 04-09-2008 04:14 PM

I thik ravenclaw she has the mind of one witty and smart not Gryfindor :luna: :claw:

Katieluff 04-09-2008 04:18 PM

Either Ravenclaw or Slytherin. But out of the two I'd choose Slytherin.

Tommehbell 04-09-2008 07:51 PM

yes she is smart, but she is more cunning and conniving than most Ravenclaws. Slytherins are not necessarily evil. it doesn't say anything about being evil, she is more like a Slytherin than any other house

ReneeWeasley 04-12-2008 02:43 AM

I think she was in Slytherin cuz she was so cunning and able to turn the truth so easily and so convincingly.

Ravenclaw's Witchlet 05-18-2008 01:11 AM

I think
I think she was a slytherin as she is sly and conniving in her ways of information and stretch of truth were-as ravenclaws belive in solid facts.

Oh and there IS a difference between dark and evil slytherins are not 'evil' but can be dark if they choose to be, house prejudice should'nt be making the choice FOR them its there choice and there choice only.

Oh and becoming an illegal animagus for the perks and being able to sneak were others can't for info and/or blackmail.

Sly is Slytherin people!

gryffindor_groupie 09-14-2008 11:37 PM

I definitely think she's Slytherin. She's highly ambitious, sneaky, smart. She's so ambitious that she was ok with lying in the Daily Prophet. I don't think she's all evil, but I don't think that Slytherins have to be evil to be in the House.

butterbeer5 10-20-2008 07:26 AM

Oooh, what a good question. I would chance a guess at Ravenclaw also.

little_clovie 11-21-2008 07:09 AM

She's smart but she's evil so she's in slytherin.:madeye: :madeye: :madeye:

SancyPancy 11-29-2008 09:48 AM

I think she was in hufflepuff... i know lots of people are saying ravenclaw or slytherin but i have reasons for why she was not in those houses:

1.for slytherin-not evil she would have been way meaner to harry.

2.for ravenclaw-yeh..sure she is a journalist in all but she seems really not than intelectual.....

tickticktick..wait a mind is starting to tick and i am suddenly thinking and aggreing that she is in ravenclaw..okay shes in ravenclaw. but not in slytherin...cant be bothered too delete that other stuff..

Dainsie 11-30-2008 02:57 AM

Slytherin's are not evil, that is a misconception stemming from the fact that most dark wizards came from that house. It is more the fact that they have attributes that predelict them to "bad" behaviour. It is an individuals choice as to how they manage those traits.

In truth they are cunning, ambitious and will do whatever they need to to achieve their goals. Which is exactly Rita's personality. She was a Slytherin.

TheLethalBandit 12-04-2008 12:19 PM

For me, the first thing that came to my mind about this, is that, she might have been in Slytherin. But then, I thought over.

We know that Rita was really ambitious and didn't care if she hurt people. But I don't really think she's that 'evil' nor is she power-thirsty. So, I think she probably might have been sorted in Ravenclaw. She's just the clever type, a person who is able to trick another just to get information or anything interesting just for her own reports. Insert or change facts about a thing just to get readers' attention.

oribia_blue 03-06-2009 07:50 PM

I think Rita Skeeter was in Ravenclaw. She is very intelligent, and knows how to get what she wants. On the other hand, she is conniving and deceptive. But those aren't necessarily traits that only belong to Slytherin House. Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws all have those traits as well. What distinguishes them from Slytherins is how they use those traits. So yes. Skeeter was in Ravenclaw.

StarShine 04-22-2009 08:46 PM

Gosh not everyone from Slytherin are evil! C'mon people! They just care too much about pure blood and care much of reaching their goal. Just Because many of DEs and LV is from there dont make whole Slytherin bad.
As answering your question, I'd go with Slytherin. She is smart but for her ambitions. She does anything to reach her goal and remember Sorting Hat in PS, it says "Slytherins do anything for their ambitions."

TSnitch 07-23-2009 07:26 PM

she had her nose in a book all the time, so she seem like a ravenclaw.

firenjen 07-28-2009 03:33 PM

i think slytherin

vijaya 08-10-2009 06:27 PM

i think that she was in slytherin.

Mrs_Molly_Weasley 08-10-2009 06:33 PM

I feel that she was in Slytherin based on her character traits. She will do anything to succeed and get a good story, not caring who it hurts. And she is very ambicious. She'll do whatever it takes to get what she wants for herself, even if it derives from a bunch of lies.

Weaslebee 08-11-2009 07:08 PM

Slytherin as she is an egoist and only does things for her own benefit, regardless of the consequences for others.

MrMcGonagall 08-13-2009 08:55 AM

Slytherin, I'm pretty sure.
I've never thought that in Slytherin house finish only evil wizards or witches (think to Slughorn or Snape, for example) but also who knows how to use intelligence in a sinister way.

In_Plain_Sight 08-13-2009 01:49 PM

Rita doesn't quite strike me as a Slytherin. And she was definitely not either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. I'm going with Ravenclaw because maybe she wasn't all that evil when she was younger. It's possible that she was a whole lot different than she is now. And like I said, Rita Skeeter the Slytherin doesn't quite strike me as right.

lovegood90 08-29-2009 08:11 PM

I am torn between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. I believe she would've been a Ravenclaw because she seems very intelligent and intellectual. But she may have been in Slytherin because of her ambition and how cunning she is and her deception. Dumbledore says that he sometimes thinks people are Sorted too early, so it could well be that, as In Plain Sight says, that Rita was a lot different when she was younger. If that was the case, I would say Ravenclaw, but now she seems more like a Slytherin.

Vampire_BaD_GiRl 09-03-2009 02:34 PM

I think she was a Slytherin or a Revenclaw. She is smart, cunning and loves to say nasty things about people. She can't be a Griffindor or a Hufflepuff, because she in not brave and/or loyal to her friends [if she even has them ._.]

Erindipity 10-04-2009 12:02 AM

I think she was in Slytherin because she didn't care who she hurt or how much she lied to make her stories popular.

malfoyandgarson4ever 10-27-2009 01:31 AM

sltherin because she is cunning and she prefers the slytherins
