I really loved the blossoming love between Remus and Tonks, even though it was kind of a surprise. I do feel though that they should have gotten a little more attention. Their love prevails through all of the horrors of the world.

I love Ron/Hermione. I have been rooting for them since the beginning I didn't like Lavender at all, but it made the hidden feelings between Ron and Hermione much more meaningful.

I loved most ofthe romantic stories in the books, they were even well handled in the films even if they were changed in some way.

My favourite romantic movie line was in the DH Pt 1 - Harry asks if Hermione was going remain mad at Ron and she replied 'I'm always mad at him.'

I love all of the war-caused weddings and relationships. There were so many in this book, like Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Bill/Fleur, Remus/Tonks.. H/G were my favourite in the books. I love Ginny's character, it's a lot different from the movies.

I love every single ship in this book!
I absolutely adored the Ron/Hermione bits, loved the H/G and smiled at the Remus/Tonks sections. Overall, a very amazing book for me, ship wise.

The pairings are great as they are. I have always liked canon because then one do support the actual feelings of the characters instead of forcing them to be with people they don't want to be with.

Wasn't a huge fan of the romance in HBP. Ron was a prefect for a whole year and won a huge game for Griff and youre telling me not a single girl tried to climb that red ladder? Plus Harry is the most famous wizard in the school and by end of book 2 has enough clout to back it up. Not a single girl thought to take a shot at The Boy Who Lived? I'm not buying it.

Also Hermione comes off as desperate. Waiting for Ron to figure out he likes her and she likes him when 2 books earlier she big timed him with Krum because he couldn't figure it out then. To replay the same sappy story again make Hermione look weak and desperate. Especially when she made a name for herself after GoF by being Krum's date and fixing her teeth.

Imo, all 3 would have had partners long before HBP. It would have showed how normal they are. Instead we get a cringey scene in the books of Ginny hounding Ron for having never kissed anyone while Harry and Hermione have had one (1) kiss a piece... by age 16. Lol come one

Romilda Vane did try to get harry to really notice her even though it was through trickery and charms {aka the Love Potion in the Cauldron Cakes}

Hermione attending the ball with Krum {and Slughorn's party with McLaggen subsequently} is something I think most girls would have done if their crush wasn't being brave about admitting his feelings. In the girls' minds, it would make their crush jealous and hopefully get the courage

Over all, I liked how things turned out for everyone {except Neville and Luna <3} as a couple. There needn't be any rush for them to find significant others though admittedly, it did annoy me that Ginny went through dating guys that much xD
♡♡♡ I will love you, only for tonight. I don't know you, but it's alright.

Let me show you heaven. Stranger, take me home.♡♡♡

I think that Rowling balances this super-well. It could have turned into something very strange if she'd gone deeper into that part of the story but she chose to let us imagine a lot of it and that is perfect.

The relationship that is growing between Ron and Hermione is awesome - but Ron is a real douche at times and I think he needs to grow up (which he does thanks to him having really good friends and family).

Harry's arc isn't really bent on the romantic stuff but it hovers there, close by. Also superbly balanced. Joanne is a wonder, for sure!

When I read the Half-Blood Prince for the first time as a kid, the romance was my favorite part. It’s all so sweet!

But I did think that Harry falling for Ginny was quite sudden. They did not have many proper interactions in the previous books, and suddenly Harry’s in denial that he likes his best friend’s sister! I thought it was a little rushed.

I totally agree with Sunny on the point above! ^

I do love the romance in HBP, it really helped to hammer in the fact that the characters we grew up with aren't really kids anymore. But, the romances couldn't have hurt if she built it up a little in the previous books. Like even starting with PoA even. Puberty and hormones and liking people doesn't just all magically start at the age of 16.

Also, Draco & Pansy. While I will die on the hill that is Dramione, I totally agree that Draco & Pansy was built up so much in HBP, so it was kind of sudden and anticlimatic for him to end up with Astoria in the epilogue.

I found the romance quite entertaining and enjoyable to read through. Despite some more dark and serious stuff rivaling Ootp this had a lighthearted feel throughout that the romance helped set the tone to make it an easier read. I could not wait for the movie adaptation to see some of these scenes come to life (Won-Won, anyone?)

As with the Harry/Ginny I could see how Harry's feelings for Ginny felt sudden and random. On the one hand I agree, on the other... from personal experience, sometimes crushes do seem to hit randomly. I've had a few people that I've been around a while having no feelings towards and then bam it hits. It's annoying when it's on someone you don't think you should be having a crush on, so I could relate to Harry in those moments. Though, maybe it was coupled with him stalking Draco half of the other time that it seemed to contradict his moments of wanting Ginny? Just thinking aloud here.

It would be even more satisfying if the Harry/Ginny build-up began towards the latter half of Order of the Phoenix after the Cho disaster. The closest was Ginny sharing chocolate with Harry in the Library before they were both chased out but the scene itself seemed platonic so... there's that. I think in the previous book we knew Ron/Hermione were going to happen but Harry? Whose Harry going to be with if not Cho, Luna? It wasn't easy to tell.

But overall, HBP was literally answering to the longtime Ron/Hermione & Harry/Ginny shippers like me that I was beaming half the time reading the build up to it.
