Dumbledore ( definitely ) He is so clever and you-know-who afraid with him
But I think Snape can be the most powerfull wizard. He is the best in occlumency.
Or maybe Hermione... because if she didn't meet Harry at the first time, Harry wouldn't find the Horcrux. That's why Dumbledore trusted her a clue to found Horcrux.

xaephyn 09-11-2008 03:39 AM

I still think harry. Dumbledore is great. But Harry seems to just know what he has to do. And i believe he can do anything that he puts his mind to. And dumbledore couldn't destroy Voldemort. Harry did.

Schokofroesche 09-26-2008 08:58 PM

Dumbledore for eva! Greatest wizard all the times

Toshi Slughorn 09-26-2008 09:08 PM

Dumbledore is the most powerful wizard ever!
Snape can`t be because Voldemort killed Snape.
And Voldemort can`t be because Harry and Dumbledore were both able to defeat him.
But Albus Dumbledore is by far much more skilled than Harry, so I think he`s the most powerful/skilled wizard ever.

Ariana Longbottom 10-11-2008 12:18 AM

Some might say that Harry is more powerful than Dumbledore, becaue he is the true master of death, and even Dumbledore admitted that Harry was better than him. However, this only makes me admire dumbledore more. He was able to admit to his mistakes, and by recognizing his faults when handed power makes him strong. to be able to turn down the post of Minister because he knows he will take it too far is unbelievable. I applaud Dumbldore.:albus:

Sikorka 12-24-2008 02:25 PM

I think that Dubledore is the most powerful wizard.
I know that Harry destroy Voldemort, but without a little help from Albus he wouldn't be able to do it.

Dumbledore

Rosa Chispa Princessa 03-15-2009 07:50 AM

Dumbledore, he was the greatest sorceror ever

Hermionespell 04-19-2009 01:15 PM

Albus Dumbledore was definitely the most powerful wizard in the series in regards to knowledge, talent, ability, etc. He lived through so much, overcame so much, and tried to guide Harry to save the Wizarding world.

There is no doubt that Lord Voldemort was also a very powerful wizard, though the Dark sort. If he did not choose the Dark path, he would have made a very talented and successful wizard.

Severus Snape was very powerful as well, but by no means was he the most powerful wizard. He was driven by his love for Lily, which is very admirable. He had great ability as a wizard and was extremely talented.

Harry Potter, of course, is an extremely powerful wizard. There is no doubt in my mind that Harry is the most powerful wizard of his time.

devianart05 05-12-2009 07:45 AM

i think it's harry......

astralpictures 06-05-2009 05:36 AM

I voted for Dumbledore for all-around power. He was certainly the most skilled and intelligent in the books. Even though Dumbledore never used really dark magic, he still knew about it as much as Voldemort (Minerva even said he's just too noble to use that kind of magic). Voldemort, however, was ignorant of any magic dealing with love, and never bothered to learn about what he might be up against.

Harry, although powerful in his own way, could never last in a straight duel against anyone else on the list. That doesn't mean he lacks in other powers (again, love is his strongest), and we don't know how powerful Harry becomes as an old man.

I'd say Grindewald should be on the list too. Dumbledore says they were evenly matched, but he was a little more skilled perhaps than Grindewald. Anyone that close to Dumbledore is most definitely in the top 3 most powerful wizards in the last century!

felix felicis 06-05-2009 07:04 PM

Dumbledore!!

Carmen Zabini 06-19-2009 07:09 AM

I think at one time Dumbledore might have been the most powerful, but in the books...Im going to have to say Severus Snape.

He's able to successfully play both sides of the field and do it in such a way that anyone who hasn't been told specifically of the situation has no idea. If not even Lord Moldy Voldy can Legilimens his way to the answers in Snapes head, I think that says something!

Harry?! Are you serious? He gets lucky. That's the only way he's been able to do what he has...insane luck and help from Hermione, Dumbledore, and in the end the DA.

Voldemort "hates" too much to be smart about what he does. If he were smart...he would've never made the horcuxes. He might be powerful...but his choices sincerely take away from that.

chantal7 06-22-2009 09:33 AM

i think harry is in his own way

Shlesha 06-30-2009 03:15 PM

The books are about love and death. Love is a big quality determining the status of powerful. Voldemort could not love, Voldemort was beaten in the rank.

This leaves, based on the poll, Harry, Dumbledore, and Snape.

Most of what Harry could do, Snape and Dumbledore could usually do it better. Harry was not really "powerful". He was strong, brave, had all those qualities, sure. But I would not label him as powerful. He's further up in the rank than Voldemort, but still not powerful. He was not after power, he did things because he needed to, for the good of everyone.

That leaves Snape and Dumbledore.

A lot of people may disagree with me but Snape is a very powerful wizard. Not saying Dumbledore isn't, he is, but Snape is a way more powerful wizard in my opinion.

Dumbledore has a terrible past, he changed himself, his personality is powerful, awesome. He's wise, brave, etc, etc. He is the one wizard that Voldemort fears. He has that powerful impression on Voldemort.

Snape has a terrible past, he changed himself, his personality is powerful, awesome. He's wise (yeah, believe it or not), brave, etc, etc. He is the one wizard who acts on Voldemort's orders, becomes a spy, a double agent for both Voldemort and Dumbledore. The two wizards to fear of all time probably.

But there was one thing that kept him going, love. Dumbledore loved too, Dumbledore was all about love, that's also what makes him powerful, but unlike Snape, love was not what kept him going.

Snape loved Lily, there was a part of Lily within Harry, his eyes. Snape tried so hard to keep that part alive, so hard in fact, that he turned a spy for Dumbledore, he became a double agent for both Dumbledore and Voldemort. He ended up killing people, committing crime, doing terrible things, and dying for Harry.

That, in my opinion, is the reason Severus Snape is the more powerful wizard.

SnapeRules 07-16-2009 10:11 AM

Snape because he was able to trick Voldemort into believing he was a true Death Eater. But Im biased

b_stewart 07-26-2009 08:53 PM

I think Dumbledore is the most powerful wizard because he is the only one Voldemort is scared of.

Erindipity 07-29-2009 01:10 AM

harry, in my opinion. he escaped so many difficult situations and still came out on top without having to actually kill anyone. i think that dumbledore knew that harry possessed power that he himself did not, therefore he help guide harry to do the seemingly impossible... kill voldy

Bella Felix 07-29-2009 01:49 AM

Dumbledore is definatly the most powerful wizard. Not only is his clever and intelligent, he knows better than to trust himself with power. He also knows that messing with Dark magic causes only problems.

Weirdo5 07-29-2009 01:55 AM

Dumbledore of course!:)
In my opinion he was by far the smartest becuase he knew how to destroy Voldemort & he was just brilliant in his own way.
Even if he did make a few mistakes...><

##Hermione&Draco## 08-01-2009 04:55 PM

Dumbledore!!!!!!!!!!!!
HE IS THE TOP OF MY LIST!!!

RoseMalfoy 08-02-2009 03:39 AM

Dumbledore!!! of course because he was the only wizard voldemort feared and he figured out how to destroy him.

MrMcGonagall 08-09-2009 11:15 AM

I think DD is the most powerful wizard ever, even if Voldemort is very powerful too. But, you see, DD has always given the impression that he would have fought and killed Voldemort if he had wanted that, but he tought that death is not the resolution of the problems.

[ahww, my english is so bad, specially if I have to make conditional sentences. I'm so sorry, I hope you understood what i wrote.]

Weaslebee 08-11-2009 12:35 PM

While Dumbledore was a great wizard and so was Snape and Voldy, Harry managed to defeat the most powerful Dark Wizard of all time, something that Dumbledore didn't manage. So I said Harry.

kshea6 08-18-2009 09:01 PM

Dumbledore has to be the most powerful. He accomplished so much during his life, plus Voldemort was so afraid of him. If it wasn't for Dumbledore, Harry would have never known how to defeat Voldemort in the first place.
