Outdoor Seating

Visiting Florean Fortescue's for a tasty treat? In the shop just to meet and greet with friends? Either way, you'll probably be looking for a place to sit down. If the weather's warm enough, or you're just looking for some fresh air, you'll love to sit at one of the many outdoor patio tables the parlour has to offer. Each table is circular in shape, with a number of comfortable wooden seats surrounding it. Depending on the time of year, you just might find a bouquet of fresh flowers sitting in the middle of the table you're seated at.

If the sun is too bright, you'll want to open the umbrella-style top mounted on your table. Otherwise, leave the umbrella closed and pushed down to enjoy the sunny day. At each table, you'll find a menu showcasing all the tasty flavours available at Florean Fortescue's. A napkin dispenser can also be found at every table, just in case you have to clean up any ice cream accidents that do tend to happen.

Laila waited for her sister to get back from the counter. She didn't want ice cream, but her sister and her new friend wanted some. She played with her hair carelessly as she sat there at the courtyard seating.

Kaira had gotten her ice cream and couldn't wait to get back to get to the courtyard. She and her sister had this thing where they never took a bite of their own food without sharing it with each other, if they were with each other. Mmmm..Nacho cheese and Jalapeno! She waited for her new friend to get his ice cream.

Malachi had finally picked out what ice cream he wanted and looked around curiously. He had never been to a place like this. He looks around and finally spots the person he was looking for, Kaira. He runs up to her, being carful not to drop the ice cream like the cluts he is. He stops beside her before starting to talk suddenly. “Sorry I was so long, there were so many flavors so it was kinda hard to choose.”

Kaira smiled. 'Hey, no problem!,' she said. 'My sister is sitting there, come, I'll introduce you,' she said excitedly.

Laila sat waiting for her sister to come back. Hey, there was someone else as well. 'Hello dear,' she said kindly to the young boy.

Kaira sat down near her sister with Malachi. 'Laila, this is Malachi..we met at the bookstore,' she said.

Laila grinned and said, 'Hiya Malachi, I'm Laila,' and held her hand out to shake. 'Are you here all by yourself, dear?,' she asked.

He shakily shakes the woman’s hand before looking away and nodding his head. “Um yes yes ma’am, I it’s my first time here. I um I’m muggle-born as I’ve *gulp* heard people say. Sorry."

Kaira smiled. 'Muggle-born? Oh niiiice!, my grandma and grandpa are muggles!,' she said excitedly. 'Must have been a surprise, the letter, then. How did your parents take it? How did you feel?,' she asked excitedly.

He relaxes a little glad that the two people in front of him aren’t like some that he had already met. “Um my dads were extremely confused, then again so was I. We thought it was a prank so we kinda uh threw the first one away. You should have seen my papa's face when a owl showed up at at the door with another. It took awhile for us to actually find this place but they were really supportive. They had to go back home plus they didn’t feel comfortable enough to come into the Wizarding World." He looks up after his little rant before looking back down. "Sorry I was rambling."

Kaira laughed. 'Haha..My mom's a muggle-born too..She has told us that when her letter came, she went up to her friend's place..which was next door and shoved it on his face cos she thought he was making fun of her..she used to have all these weird happenings that she couldn't explain..and she had told him about it, so you know...apparently one of the school staff had to erase the guy's memory,' she said.

Laila smiled kindly. The boy seemed so nervous. 'Relaaax,' she said. 'Oh that's a bummer..we could've met them if they had come along,' she added. But she understood how they felt.

He perks up slightly, Malachi loves talking about his dads. “Yeah they would have liked to meet you too. Papa would have talked your ear off while dad would have probably tried to stop him and buy him an ice cream. Papa loves ice cream. Wait they won’t erase papa and dad's memories will they!?”

Laila smiled. 'Oh no,they won't! Your parents are okay. There is an International Statute of secrecy that we are supposed to abide by and not reveal the existence of magic to non-magic folk or muggles. Immediate family are fine though. How else would muggle borns be able to be admitted? You don't have to worry about that bit. They won't erase your dads' memories,' she said.

Kaira grinned. 'My dad loves ice cream too! This one,' she said looking at Laila 'takes after my mom, I guess! She isn't too fond of ice creams!'.

Laila said, 'Wow..you must have like..a thousand questions, right?,' she said.

Laila laughed as the little one gulped down the ice cream. 'Woah..easy, young man, you'll get a brain freeze!,' she said. Looking at his pained expression, she realised - 'Oh no, you've actually got a brain freeze! Kaira, go get some hot water, quick!,' she told her sister

Kaira ran to the counter and got some hot water. She gave it to Malachi and said, 'Here! Drink it!'.

"I’m fine, not the first time it’s happened and probably not going to be the last." He chuckles a little, hanging out with these two makes him feel like maybe Hogwarts isn’t going to be so bad after all.

Summer. The season was for sure one of Liliane's favourite. Ice cream, hot weather, and U17 quidditch. There was literally nothing that could be better than the summer. It made the last year so worth it. It had been hard, and emotional, but she's survived. And she knew that she was in a much better place than she had been this time last year and she was just looking forward to spending some time with her friends. Since she had been home schooled over the last year she hadn't really seen much of her friends, so she knew it was going to be a great summer.

The first person that she had planned to meet up with was Derf, and Lili was super excited to see him. They'd had some kind of letter contact over the last year, but she couldn't wait to actually see him properly. Lili had collected her ice cream, and was currently sat waiting for him. Soo excited!

Summer had not come soon enough for Derf. The term had been taxing on him in ways he hadn't thought possible and it felt good to be out of the castle and just somewhere where he could BREATHE. Much weighed heavily on his mind - his bowtruckle family, Petrov, polyjuice ethics, feelings of betrayal by professor who were now back to educate him - but he was trying to train his mind to think about summer and the reset he greatly needed. Not to mention the tattoos that he had earned himself last summer...and he was looking to add upon this summer. The sun on his shoulder in particular serving as important reminders.

Resets that included seeing friends and just, well, being a teenager for once without feeling like someone was breathing down your neck waiting for you to slip up. So he had been more than delighted to hear from Liliane and even more so that their U-17 schedules allowed them to meet somewhere that wasn't on the pitch.

His final summer as a beater for Wales...that thought hadn't entirely sunk in yet either.

Spotting her easily, Derf waved with a grin as he approached. "Long time no see," he smiled, taking her appearance in. "You look...really good, Liliane." He was very pleased to see. A year away from Hogwarts and everything and really done her well.

Now she needed to stand so he could give her a hug. A good and proper one.

It amused Liliane that some of her best friends were on opposite U17 teams to her. It was amusing, but it didn't stop her from playing her very best. There was a big chance when she was a professional player she would be playing against some of her friends too. That meant that she really could not be worried about not hurting them. She was a beater. It was her job to try and direct the bludgers at people. She did it, but it didn't mean she liked it. But if England won, then that was okay. Or at least it was a little bit okay.

But today she was seeing Derf off of the pitch, and that was much better. Derf was a beater too, so she didn't often end up hurting him. But it was still much better to see her friends when they weren't playing quidditch. She adored the sport, but it was so much better to have a conversation off of the pitch. It had been such a long time since they had had a proper conversation anyway. So this was going to be good. And since she would be at Hogwarts again in September, she knew that it was not going to be as awful as it had been for the last year.

"hiii!" Lili beamed as she saw Derf. She had to admit to herselft hat it was a nice feeling to know he thought she looked good. Though, of course, she knew he only meant it on a friendly way. It was only her that could not stop having feelings for someone who didn't feel the same way. "I feel really good..." She murmured as she stood up, and opened her arms.

Could she get a hug now?

Even BETTER than him thinking she looked well was HEARING that she felt well, and thus his smile widened into a toothy grin as his arms naturally opened and he closed the remaining distance between them. "You have no idea how glad I am to hear that," he said sincerely as his strong arms wrapped around her like a boa constrictor, only not as tightly seeing as he didn't want to suffocate her or nothing. He had much better control of his body these days, understanding how he had bulked up and all that. Less awkward. It had been a process.

Being a teenager was hard, you know?

Pulling away a bit, Derf tucked some of her blonde hair behind her ear before speaking. "I gotta get myself some ice cream too. But I'll be back soon, yeah?"

He knew that Diagon Alley would busier during this time of the year - everywhere was, including both home and Stemp House - but still, Jude was happy to sit down at the ice cream parlour and stop dodging louder, bigger kids.

Which everyone seemed to be - louder and bigger than he was. Even Jorgie was, but he didn't mind her version of bigger and louder. In fact, it was the only version of bigger and louder her liked, and he smiled at her, very glad that their parents had given them the money to come and sit at Florean Fortescues before meeting them later.

Of course, they'd probably forget he needed his wand. But Jude didn't really mind that, too much.

wow I lost Jorgie's post colour forgive me

Jorgie knew that her brother was going to have the best time at Hogwarts because they'd be able to enjoy it together. Jude WAS going to be a Slytherin with her and they'd be able to sit in their common room all day every day and never ever leave if they wanted to. She had gone home early last year so it would be as if she was restarting her Hogwarts education AGAIN with her bEST BEST FRIEND and brother.

She knocked ankles with her brother under the table and gave him a big grin. "Let me try your ice cream, Judey."

Without hesitation, Jude held out his cone to his older sister. "It's cookies and cauldrons," he offered helpfully, sure she wouldn't have been paying attention when he ordered.

He knocked his ankles back against hers and smiled a little bit. "Are you looking forward to going, uh.... to going back to school?" he couldn't help but ask, ruffling his blonde hair - the same blonde that made Jorgie stand out from the mass of dark haired Stemps. Jude couldn't help but worry slightly that he wouldn't be in the same house as his best friend best sister.

Or, even worse, that he wouldn't get sorted into ANY house and would get sent home and would become even more irrelevant than he already was.

Judey was so silly. Jorgie knew what he had ordered, mainly because she knew his favourite was her secret favourite. Which was why she always asked to taste it. "Oh, really? You like getting that one, don't you?" Still, she would pretend that she had no idea what he had ordered because Jude liked to think that no one cared enough about what he did or paid any attention to him.

But she did.

Her best friend and best brother was the only person that got this much of her attention. She knew everything he did even when he thought that she didn't.

They should have been twins, so she thought.

"Really excited. I can't wait to have Alis and Holly there every day again. And you, of course. Are excited to go? You don't have to tell everyone. Just me."

Pulling away a bit, Derf tucked some of her blonde hair behind her ear before speaking. "I gotta get myself some ice cream too. But I'll be back soon, yeah?"

Lili just smiled as she hugged him. It felt like it had been so long since she'd had a hug from Derf, so it was a nice feeling. "Me too... Me too...." Lili didn't like to think about last summer, but it had not been a great time. But Lili was just grateful that she'd been able to work through her fears and insecurities, and had come out the other side a better person. The year away from Hogwarts had also done wonders for her quidditch playing. She was the best beater she had ever been. The hug was nice though, and she smiled. It was just good to be around her friends again, and she was just happy. Happier than she had been in a while, and that felt good.

She looked at him, and honestly couldn't stop smiling. Was this usual? She wasn't sure. But this was also Derf, and he would always be special to her. "Yeah" She nodded with a smile, and then she sat back down. Don't be too long though Derf! They had some caching up to do

Still, she would pretend that she had no idea what he had ordered because Jude liked to think that no one cared enough about what he did or paid any attention to him.

Just me."

Jude offered a little nod as he took his cone back from her. "S'nicer when Nana makes it, though." Every Stemp would agree that Nana Stemp's ice cream was the BEST ice cream ever created.

It was a wonder none of them were overweight, the amount she spoilt them.

"Alis and Holly are nice," he told Jorgie unconvincingly. It wasn't that they weren't because they'd been lovely to him when they'd come over for sleepovers, it was just that Jude wouldn't have blamed Jorgie if she decided that she was too cool to hang out with her baby brother and spent ALL of her time with them. As for his excitement. He shrugged. "I guess. Mave said there's lots of girls. So did Corbin, but I don't know what that means."

There were lots of girls in their house, too. "It'll be good if I get into Slytherin." But not otherwise.

Judey was right. Nana Stemp made the best ice cream and the best everything. Jorgie was surprised that she hadn't opened her own food place yet... but she also didn't have time with everything she did for their family. Nana Stemp was honestly Jorgie's third biggest inspiration. The first being Mummy, the second being Lilah and the third being Nana. "Should we go see her later? See what ice cream she has already made? I BET she's been baking today too." Merlin, her mouth was going to water.

"Did you want any of mine?" He was the only person besides Daddy to share ice cream with Jorgie Stemp.

Her blonde hair fell back over her shoulders as she tilted her head, ankle bashing against Jude's for telling a lie. "You don't have to like my friends. You're always going to be my best best one." She presented her pinky finger across the table with a smile. "Corby and Mavey like to kiss a lot of girls and the girls at school like to kiss them a lot. That's what I heard." But that made girls trashy and Judey didn't need a trashy girl. Or a trashy boy if that was what he liked.

Jorgie didn't mind.

"You will. I promise. Together forever."

Nodding through his mouthful of ice cream, Jude crumpled a napkin up in his hand. Going to see Nana was a wonderful idea. "Maybe we can even have a sleepover," he said once he'd finished. Sleepovers at Nana and Gramps were wonderful, especially when it was just him and Jorgie and they got to explore Gramps' old workshop and eat lots of cake little sandwiches.

"What flavour is it?" Jude mused when his sister offered him her ice cream. He knew already that the answer was going to be no because he still had lots left and was already quite full and ALSO needed to save room for probably Nana's cake later.

Because if Jorgie asked, no way was Dad going to say no.

He winced a little at the ankle bashing, but didn't reach down to rub it because he had ice cream in one hand and a scrunched up napkin in the other. The napkin, though, was promptly dropped when he needed to link his pinky with Jojo's, and any pain in his ankle was forgotten as he smiled at her.

"I thought Corby only liked to kiss 'Livia," Jude couldn't help but asked, brow furring as he thought of Corbin's girlfriend, who was always so kind to him. He wrinkled his nose a little, though, because he wasn't sure what was so great about kissing even if he DID like it when Olivia kissed his cheek.

Jorgie had never promised him anything she hadn't meant and so Jude smiled again before returning to his ice cream. "Together forever," he agreed.

Jorgie GASPED at Jude's suggestion. "Brilliant, Judey! We can get out of nappy changing for two days! There's no way Nana and Gramps will send us home if we say we're sooooooo tired and Saffy makes us babysit Reuby." Which was only a white lie. She did make them keep an eye on him when she had to run to the bathroom or get a bottle from the fridge or change her own clothes.

"Lemondrop, obviously. What else do I ever get?" Her second favourite flavour of ice cream, because why would she order her first if Jude ordered it too?

Pinky promise over, Jorgie went back to grinning across the table at her brother and giggling. "Saffy said that Corby kissed ALL the girls before Liv. Which means that she isn't his TRUE love. Because Daddy didn't kiss ALL the girls before Mummy. That's what I want. TRUE love." True love and eleven kids. Like Mummy and Daddy. Well.. she'd be happy with two kids because eleven was a lot of kids to feed and everyone liked different foods and Jorgie wasn't going to cook eleven different meals. YIKES NO THANKS.

Maybe she'd get a cook...

"Love you, Judey."

White lies made Jude a bit uncomfortable but he didn't mind as long as he could just stand next to Jorgie and nod. And maybe look a little sad and tired, but Nana always thought he looked sad and tired.

And thin. Then she tried to fatten him up which he definitely didn't mind because her food was deeeeeelicious.

So he nodded at that, because there was no way he'd complain about getting out of smelly nappies.

"You might have changed your mind," Jude reasoned, before holding out his own cone towards her. "I don't want the rest of mine, do you?" He wouldn't mind doing swapsies, or Jorgie could have both.

Digesting this information about Corbin and his kissing habits, Jude was quiet for a moment. "What if I don't like your true love, though?" he posed, the question slipping out before he could really think it through, which only ever happened with Jorgie and sometimes Mummy and always Nana. But Jorgie could never chose a true love that he didn't like, right?

"Love you, Jojo."

"It takes a lot for me to change my mind, Jude Enzo Stemp. You know that." Only if it was to do with food, though. Everything else... she was as fickle as anything. Whoooopsie. Who did she get that from? No idea. She gave her brother a coy look before holding both of her hands out, one to take his ice cream and the other for him to take hers. Wasn't having an almost-twin the best thing in the universe?

What ever would she do without Judey in her life?

Which was the thought that again crossed her mind when he spoke once more. These times alone with her brother... the times when he would actually speak... they were her absolute favourite. Better than the pink. Better than time with Daddy. Better than horse riding and gymnastics. Better than everything. "My true love wouldn't be someone you didn't like. I love you more than anyone, remember?"

And she'd choose him every day for the rest of their lives.

Jude smiled and nodded that he did indeed know that, before reaching out and taking her ice cream that was now his. His that he would eat super slowly so that it either melted or Jorgie finished the ice cream that was now hers and wanted it back.

This was how it always went and he wouldn't have changed it for anything. Jorgie made up for all of the smelly nappies and all of the insults from their older siblings.

"Okay," Jude said with an even wider smile, momentarily forgetting his plan to eat the lemondrop ice cream supper slowly. "And the love of my life will be someone you like." When it came to it, though, Jude would probably just let Jorgie pick his future wife. Or husband, he hadn't really thought about which he'd want.

Jorgie was delighted to have her new ice cream and licked the back of her hand to catch the bits that had dribbled down after melting. Yum delicious. That was perfect. Just what she had wanted to have from the ice cream shop. Lemondrop was good enough, but mmmmm this was twenty steps better. Jorgie Monroe Stemp was in love with an ice cream flavour. "I think we should ask Nana and Gramps to let us decorate with paper chains and show them that movie we saw with Saffy last month!" Before their older sister fell asleep on the sofa muttering about milk and rusks.

Babies made your brain go weird!

"Maybe I'm the love of your life, Judey. Maybe that's why we're best friends forever and ever and ever ever ever."

He made quick work of ordering himself an ice cream - as quick as the queue would allow him to be anyway - and was soon back at her table with a cone of his own. This time opting for a canary cream flavor over one of his usual chocolate preferences.

"Don't suppose I can get you to teach me that neat move you used in our last match?" he teased while licking on his cone. He could always appreciate skill when he saw it. After all, that was half the fun in athletics, you know? "You were really brilliant." He had always admired her on a broom before, but she had seemed much more confident this time. It was really nice, refreshing, to see.

Lili smiled to herself as she sat waiting for Derf to come back. Although she knew she still have lingering feelings for him, they didn't bother her anymore. Romance would come at the right time, and she wasn't too bothered about being rejected any more. She had come beyond that now, and wasn't going to let herself feel low because of someone else's feelings. It felt good, and like she was growing up a little.

She looked up as she saw him come back and she grinned. "So that you can beat us again? Don't think so" She teased with a little grin. She had gotten better with her beating over the last year, but she figured that was because she had had some much time to practice. It really had helped. She was hoping it would help her to be able to be Captain for the next season. "Thank you. I've been practising lots" And she felt more confident about herself now. It was lovely, and she was excited to see where she could go next.

Her response elicited a healthy chuckle from him as he playfully waved his ice cream cone in her general direction. "Fine. Keep your secrets. I'll just have to watch you closely next match and see about figuring it out on my own," he grinned with a light wink before digging into his own ice cream before it started melting all over his hands. "Well, it shows. You thinking of making quidditch a career?" It sorta ran in her family and, well, he could see it happening for her one day. Especially on the trajectory she appeared to be on.

He, himself, had been asked that quite a bit recently and while flattered...he almost felt as though he were disappointing people in answering no. He liked quidditch plenty and flying was the more liberating feeling in the world, but it wasn't where his passion lay. Though mounting a broom and kicking off for some recreational leagues had its appeal. He may consider that all during university - if that was where life ended up taking him.

With her hair back to its natural color of blonde with only a few strands of pink peeking through today, Euphy got a table outside Florean's all by herself. She had been working her butt off these past few days with the Quidditch World Cup underway and so she felt like she needed a breather.

One that would come in the form of strawberry ice cream topped with a healthy amount of whipped cream. Got to love whipped cream! She could probably manage to crack a story or two after this.

She had come into London to pick up a few last minute recital things from Ariana, but something else was calling her name. So making her way down the Alley she headed into one of her favorite places. She had been coming here since she knew magic was real and she had always stopped here to get a sweet treat, so today Minerva did her same routine and headed into the shop.

Once she had gotten her ice cream she headed out to find a seat, but it was busy there. Why though? The kids were still in school, but it seemed summer had come early. With everything going on she forgot until just now that the World Cup was going on, right, there were tourist and fans all over the place.

Finding a good place she smiled, "Mind if I sit here with you to eat this?" She wouldn't be a pain, just sit quietly and eat her ice cream, she promised.

The outdoor seats at Florean's were the perfect place for Nova Dior Pascal to spend her afternoon. She'd already whiled away a few hours in Flourish and Blott's, eventually leaving with her school books, a few for further reading and a couple that she wanted to read with Willow - Willow, who was progressing SO much and was an absolute delight to be around.

Nova was the luckiest person when it came to siblings. And parents. Notebook open on the table, self inking quill resting on top of it, the soon-to-be sixth year Ravenclaw settled in to enjoy her sorbet and her people watching.

After buying his icecream (strawberry and chocolate flavours) at the counter, Dorian sat down at the tables outside and placed his shopping bags below him. So far he had bought his sixth year study books and a couple of vials for potion ingredients. He leaned back in his seat as he took a bite from his icecream and looked around at the people walking by with interest, wondering what were in their bags and where they would stop to buy their next supplies.

Thomas was delighted that his parents had allowed him to get some icecream. They had even allowed him to go and get it on his own, which was something that had surprised him. His parents had gone back to the leaky cauldron and had told Thomas to return there as soon as he had finished his shopping.

Thomas stood there looking around when suddenly he noticed what appeared to be an older student sitting down at a table with some shopping bags next to him. Taking a gulp he slowly walked over to the person. "Excuse me, this is my first time here and i'm sort of lost, where would you suggest getting a wand from?" Thomas looked sheepish as he waited for the boy to answer.

After almost finishing the icecream, Dorian checked his pockets to see if he had some money left but finding out he was short a few coins. He sighed softly, he wanted another icecream. Looking back up, the Ravenclaw noticed a small boy staring his way. Did he have something on his face? He wiped his mouth in case there was some icecream and then he raised an eyebrow curiously when the kid walked his way.

Ah, he was just lost. Understandable. He had been lost the first time he had entered diagon alley on his own. Poor kid was going to be late at every class like he had been during his first year if he got lost easily. "You can buy your wand at Ollivanders" he said and leaned forward in his chair and pointed in the direction of the shop. "You need to walk that path to get to the south end, you can't miss it" he said and leaned back casually in his chair. "Where are your parents?" he asked.

They decided to go back to the hotel?

The moment the kid said that, Dorian closed his eyes and rubbed his temple on the right side of his head with his fingers as if he had an annoying headache. "Why would they go back back and leave a...." he let out a frustrated groan before looking back up. "Did your parents really went back to the hotel or have you given them the slip to go exploring by yourself?" it was something he had done countless of times with his own father at that age. "Look, when you go buy your wand, have your parents with you because im sure they would want to witness that too" Dorian then looked at the two other empty seats at the table and shrugged his shoulders "Unless someone is sitting there with an invisibility cloak on, i'm on my own. Why?"

Thomas was a little bit annoyed that the old boy didn't believe him. "They aren't used to this and neither am I, you see where we come from we have a few shops in the streets, like maybe a couple of supermarkets but most are in what you would call a shopping centre." Thomas spoke calmly. "I'm muggle born you see, it was such a shock when I found out I had this special ability." Thomas then listed to what the boy said next.

Thomas wanted to roll his eyes but he knew that was rude and he had been brought up with manners. "Just wondering." Thomas smiled, he wanted to see if the boy wanted to hang out but was now scared to ask.

It didn't came as a shock to Dorian to find out that the kid was a Muggleborn. Actually, he had figured that out the moment he had asked about Ollivanders because everyone from a Wizarding family knew where to buy a wand. He also tried not to chuckle at him talking about a shopping centre. Was he trying to explain what that was or was he just rattling on? "Well, if it puts your mind at ease, i'm a Muggleborn myself" he said. Although he got adopted in to a wizarding family at an early age so he knew about the magical world even before getting his Hogwarts letter so this experience was a bit different than his.

"You can take a seat if you want" he said as he motioned to the empty seats with his hand. "Have you tried the icecream here yet? Its amazing" In other words he should. "What's your name by the way?"

Thomas stood there just staring at the seat, did he dare sit down, this older boy was a little bit frightening with all the questions about him skipping out on his parents, he stood there a couple of moments before plonking himself down on one of the spare seats. "Awesome, that's a relief." Thomas smiled. "I was a little bit worried about how I would cope coming from a primary school to such a big boarding school. I got told it's a huge place."

"Oh right, my name. I'm Thomas Longstaff, but I'm known as Tom." He wanted to get that out there now, only his mother used his full name and that was when he was in trouble. "I was just thinking of getting one."

He was unsure if his relief was about him being a muggleborn as well or that he could sit down on at the table, either way, Dorian smiled a little. He liked this kid, reminded him of himself a bit. And then the smile changed in to a laugh as he said that he heard that Hogwarts was 'a huge place' Well, he wasn't wrong about that. "It is. Oh man i lost so many House points during my first year because i kept getting lost and was late for classes" he used to hate that about himself but now that he thought back it was pretty funny. "I remember this one time when i had Astronomy class up at the tower, which is on the same floor as my Common Room but somehow i ended up on the second floor instead and i still haven't figured out how i've done that" he said with a chuckle and shook his head. Good times."Apart from it 'being huge', what else do you know about Hogwarts?" he wanted to know if he was prepared or if he went in blind.

"I'm Dorian" he introduced himself back and looked behind him to see inside of the parlor. "There's no line right now so if you want to buy an icecream i suggest you go now" he said as he turned back to face him. "I'll guard the chair"

Thomas smiled as he left for a couple of minutes. When he returned he had two ice-creams in his hand. both strawberry flavour, he hoped that the other boy liked that flavour ice-cream, he slowly and carefully walked back towards the table as he didn't want to trip up and make a bad impression. "Here you go." Thomas held out his hand so the boy could take one of the ice-creams.

Nova was the luckiest person when it came to siblings. And parents. Notebook open on the table, self inking quill resting on top of it, the soon-to-be sixth year Ravenclaw settled in to enjoy her sorbet and her people watching.

For once in a blue moon, Mercy had yet to be in Flourish and Blotts today as she had already gotten her school books and spent hours on the floor of the shop reading last time she was here. So today she was enjoying walking around and stopping in the music shop for a Melanie Sung record and even grabbing some ice cream. The only thing sad was she wasn't here with Nico doing this. But that was only for a second since having time for yourself was good also.

She was properly exhausted by the time she made it to Floreans and ordered her favorite. But she did see her friend and dormmate one Nova Pascal as he made her way out to the outside seating.

Mercy smiled and made her way over to the spot she made for herself and looked like she was back to analyzing and making a list of something.

"Nova, may I sit"

One thing that Archer still hadn't gotten used to, despite having spent the first five years in Britain, plus the going on three years she'd been at Hogwarts now? The virtual lack of humidity in the air during the summer. I mean, compared to Arkansas, where you could figuratively smother in it. Which was why she was sitting outside the ice-cream parlor with her cookies n' cauldrons cone (single scoop) instead of inside. The heat wasn't bothering her, especially since she had the table's umbrella open.

Ah, this was the life. The best part? A certain something that had come with her supply list for the year and was now pinned to the front of her romper.

People watching meant that Nova had already seen Mercy coming, and had moved a bag of books from one of the chairs in the hope that Mercy would join her. There was always the possibility that Mercy hadn't seen her, or was too busy to stop, or the dreadful scenario in which her friend was avoiding her (something that had become somewhat of an irrational(?) fear for the Ravenclaw of late) but Nova was prepared.

And it seemed she was right to be. Beaming up at Mercy, she indicated the chair next to her. "Of course you may," she said easily, watching her friends eyes fall to her notebook. The open pages of which were, currently, empty save for a few mindless spiral-drawings of boredom.

"No Nico today?"

Ah right off the bat she asked the question. Not that Mercy expected anything less or anything other question. Mercy actually was not with her today as she knew Nico was busy with family stuff and her little brother Nate. Mercy sat down and smiled while shaking her head.

"No, not today. I was looking at weird shops down the alley since well last time I was here I spent the majority of it on the floor of Blotts reading"

Yeah normal for this Ravenclaw.

"what are you doing here today. Research on boys still?"

Was the first thing she thought of seeing the notebook. Or was she getting a head start on the textbooks for next term? Which while now would be a little surprising. she wouldn't be completely surprised since she is sure Nova did better on OWLs than her.

Nova smiled at that, offering an almost conspiratorial nod. "I'm not surprised - it's so easy to end up there for hours," she agreed. Indeed, she'd spend a while there that morning already, and it was only the sun shining through the windows that enticed her back outside. "Have you been in Cranville Quincey's?" she couldn't help but ask, as Mercy had mentioned looking at the weirder shops. "There's some really interesting things in there."

Looking back at her notebook for a moment, Nova shook her head. "Not boys, no. Just general people research."

Exactly, Mercy knew she would understand how easy it was to lose time in there. not saying it was good or anything to be in there all day. Just it was something she enjoyed. That store name did sound familiar but couldnt remember what was sold there.

"No what do they sell there?"

Was it really weird and inappropriate or just tame...questions and questions. Well if they wanted to get technical boys did count as people so she was watching boys but also everyone else.

"Anyone interesting yet?"

Like people with weird hair cuts, fashion choices, or anything else.

Fiona casually drummed her fingers on the table as she looked around with a look of boredom on her features.

Fiona was going to start her first year at Hogwarts in September and so she was enjoying the freedom while it lasted. She was going to be the first Hogwarts student in her family. Both sides of her family had been Ilvernmorny students so she had not a single idea as to which Hogwarts house she'd be sorted in, though having vaguely read about them, she had her hopes pinned on a certain house.

As of late, it had been a challenge to get away from the responsibilities of being a father, husband, hippogriff breeder and pro Gobstones player. Fortunately, Adi found the time today. He had seen to it that he had finished mot of hi daily work before heading out, leaving poor Benny with his pregnant cousin. Sanjana seemed to have no qualms about the twins she was carrying for him and Benny. Adi amused himself by thinking of how much Sanjana must be flirting be flirting with his husband.

Hopefully, he would finish his business quickly today to head back to rescue Benny. But first, why not have some ice cream? Adi had already grabbed his flavour of choice and was sitting at a table with an open umbrella. Sun glasses were in place to protect his eyes from that scorching sun.

What a peaceful day so far.

It had been a while. Years and years, to be exact.

Agatha Hapgood was back in London. Not for good. Not yet, at least. But she was there nonetheless.

If one didn't know better, the look she was giving those she walked past was one of disdain. Maybe that was just how her face rested, or maybe not. She marched on with her chin up and back perfectly straight, feeling the looks some people gave her. If they were female, she knew they were jealous, if the onlookers were male, she knew they simply couldn't resist her beauty.

Either way, she enjoyed getting such attention and didn't miss a beat all the way until she reached the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron. There was a specific place in Diagon Alley that she always visited whenever she went to London, and this time would be no different.

If her memory served her right, it had been one of the first places she had visited when she was only a little girl. She intended on having the very same flavoured ice cream that she had on said occasion.

The 29 year-old strutted towards the counter and ordered her strawberry ice cream. She glanced at the entrance to the back door, a tiny smirk appearing on her face as she remembered the only day she had been invited back there. She couldn't remember the name of the kid that joined her, nor could she remember what he looked like, but she had kicked his butt.

If Agatha Hapgood were one to chuckle, that would've been the moment for it, but she wasn't. Instead, she thanked the man serving her and paid for her treat. Turning on her heels, she looked around the room to pick a seat.

What a day! Today had been magnificent, wonderful, amazing, stupendous, exciting, and AWESOME!!! Her first REAL day as a witch and she had accomplished so much! This treat was well deserved and mum would never find out about it because she would have it ALL GONE before she met up here. Bernadette had plenty of time to alternate between licking the Ton Tongue Toffee scoop on the bottom of her cone to licking the Cookies and Cauldrons on top, with bits of hot fudge in between.

Wasn't this a wonderful place to be alive? She sighed happily and cracked open her copy of Now That's What I Call Hogwarts Vol. 100. It was totes more exciting than her official books like Hogwarts, A History.

Louise Bones was VERY excited to be in Diagon Alley that day. She had finally convinced her parents to let her attend Hogwarts (which was, apparently, going to be delayed, so she would actually end up going to Beauxbatons, according to the Daily Prophet), so this trip to the alley had been planned so that she could begin her "back to school" shopping. There were a few more things that she would need for her second year, now that she would be attending a school instead of being homeschooled.

She was particularly excited about buying her uniform, strangely enough. On her way to the shop, Louise spotted the ice cream shop she was fond of and convinced her parents to give her a few coins to get some ice cream. That gave them a break to do some of their own shopping and let Louise do what she wanted.

Once she left the shop with a big scoop of ice cream on top of a cone in her hand, the redhead looked for a seat outside and spotted a table with another young girl at it with a big cone and a big book. "Whatcha reading?" Louise asked, inviting herself to sit down at the table with said girl. Hopefully she wouldn't mind.

Abra sighed and looked around the seating area. Her aunt wasn't there, which wasn't totally surprising because Lou had said she was going to get her some cat food for the cat. She wanted a dog though. Maybe she could keep the cat at home, rather than take it with her? She didn't think it wise to give sole responsibility of a cat to an eleven-year-old, when she managed to lose both of her parents. Abra chewed on the inside of her cheek before heading over to someone... her age? Abra couldn't tell anymore.

"Hello-excuse me, do you mind if I sit here?" she asked. Her tone was flat, her face expressionless. She felt rather numb of late. Why was her auntie Lou not back yet?

Fiona was almost ready to leave when a blonde-haired girl of roughly the same age approached her. She couldn't help but notice the tone of the girl's voice but she stayed silent on that matter.

"Yeah, go ahead," Fiona answered in a casual tone, using her foot to push the vacant chair away from the table so the girl could sit down.

"Thanks," Abra said, about to pull the chair out herself when it slid out. For a moment she wondered whether the girl had just done some nonverbal, non wand magic but then she realised that was a silly thought. It was an advanced skill.

Sitting down, and slowly eating a spoon of ice cream, she said "You're not British. Are you from America?" It was probably either there or Canada. Abra had heard they sounded similar. The thought of meeting someone her age who wasn't from the UK was almost exciting.

Charlie was literally getting no school supply shopping done. He was trying hard. Really, he was! But there was a joke shop and a pet shop and even a book shop than ended up having way cooler books than he could ever imagine! On top of that, he'd now come across an ice cream shop. His parents were going to be so mad when they found out he'd spent all his money on things he didn't even need, but he'd deal with that later.

Chocolate Frog! No, no, no... Butterbeer! Uhh...Corned Beef Sandwich? Ewww. Was that for somebody's grandfather to order or something? Umm... Cookies and Cauldrons sounded cool. He'd try that one!

A few minutes later, ice cream in hand, Charlie headed for the seating area. The place was packed, plus there were shopping bags everywhere, which made navigating the tables feel like the a real life maze. Finally, Charlie plopped down into what he thought was a seat belonging to an empty table. He took a nice, long lick of his ice cream then looked up. There was some girl sitting across from him. "Uhh...sorry about that. I thought this was an empty table," he said. Maybe she wouldn't mind sharing it, though!

Fiona was waiting for 'Mystery Girl' to reveal her name when suddenly a boy who looked a tad older than both girls plopped himself down into a seat at their table. Fiona raised her eyebrows at him silently asking him, "How could you have not seen that people are sitting here?!" However, she responded out loud with, "Yeah, feel free to sit here. I don't think she minds," Fiona gestured towards the blonde girl.

Abra didn't think she would care about getting to know anyone, actually. She thought she would want to just be alone, protect herself from feeling this grief she suffered. But apparently she was wrong, because what Fiona was telling her was interesting. "I've always wanted to go to New York." Her parents were going to take her one day. Abra looked down at her ice cream, wanting to forget that was no longer possible. She looked back up again and went to open her mouth, when someone interrupted them.

Abra looked at him, watching him take a lick of his ice cream. She didn't know how someone could think it was an empty table when clearly people were sitting there, but she merely shrugged and continued eating her own ice cream.

"New York is amazing! There is just so much to do, although living there can be a bit pricey." Fiona revealed, wishing that she was back there but knowing that there was always the chance she'd return in the future.

When Abra introduced herself, Fiona smiled. "Cool name!"

Charlie frowned at Fiona's question. So much for friendly greetings. "Uhh, sorry about that. There's a ton of people crammed into this one area," he replied. And speaking of people, how exactly did he miss not one, but two, girls sitting here? His gaze turned briefly to the second girl. "Thanks," he said, since the first girl had volunteered the second girl to not mind if he stayed here.

He kind of felt like a third wheel in the group they'd formed, but whatever. Girls were weird creatures. What was that his dad always said to him? You can't live with them, can't live without them? Something like that. Thank Merlin he didn't have to share a dorm room with any of them, though. "I'm Charlie," he chimed in. Though, did anybody even care at this point?

Ordinarily, Bernadette had a 'just say no' to 'stranger danger' policy about talking to strangers. But she had mostly forgotten that today in favour of excitedly drinking in everything she could about wizards, wizarding culture, wizard foods... other wizard children...

Here was one now. Bernie eyeballed her with one eyebrow askew, ascertaining the quality of the girl before she spoke to her. Hmm, she had a BIG scoop of her own ice cream, so surely she wouldn't want any of Bernie's, and she was interested in reading, or at least what she was reading. Well, she could be alright.

"Now That's What I Call Hogwarts, Vol. 100," Bernie announced, tipping the book up so the other girl could read the spine. "It has the SCOOP on everything that's happened there in the last 100 years. Like, the SCOOP with SPRINKLES on TOP, ya know." Ya know? It had the DIRT. Pun intended!

Abra thought about that for a moment. "Maybe I'll have to go when I can get a job." She could save some money so that she wouldn't have to borrow any. Her parents left her some money but using it would be admitting they weren't ever coming back, and that was something she refused to be ready for. She cracked a smile and said "Thanks." She liked her name. It was one thing she would always have that her parents gave her.

Abra didn't want to be mean or give off a bad vibe to anyone that was offering any kind of connection. She wanted to be able to start the year at Hogwarts with some familiar faces. "Hi Charlie," she said after swallowing her recent lick of ice cream. "I'm Abra. Are you going to Hogwarts too?"

When it came to strangers, Louise had absolutely no policy. She liked talking to new people. It was fun! She had noticed that some strangers weren't as keen as her to start a conversation with somebody they didn't know, but it didn't bother her to much.

The girl watched the other with her big greenish blue eyes, waiting patiently for an answer. She licked her ice cream cone before a drip of melty ice cream could fall and then she invited herself to sit down in the chair next to this new friend. "I've heard of that," she said before taking another lick. "But you know that's not the official history book, right? That's Hogwarts, A History." And that was what her mother was having her read, since it was what was required before going to Hogwarts.

This girl was definitely probably from a wizard family, since she knew about all the books, so she could be a good friend to have around. Licking her Ton Tongue Toffee patiently, she nodded as the other girl explained the difference between Bernie's book and the official school book.

"Yeah, I bought that one too," she shrugged. "But it's a bit..." Bernie took another bite of ice cream and dragged out her pause while she ate it. "dry? Ya know? Have you read all your school books already?!" If her parents were wizards, she could have been reading all her school books all along! She probably knew SPELLS already!

SPOILER!!: Agatha! <3

Adi worked on his ice cream as he thought. Just what was he thinking? That after he finished his business, he would return to grab some of the delicious frozen treat for Benny, Raj and the helpers at their Reserve. Yep, the helpers were treated like family at the Reserve. After all, they were the ones who stood beside Adi and Benny each day to tend to the hippogriffs and dragons. Such were his thoughts as he absently watched a seemingly stuck up lady walk past him and into the parlour. She looked familiar, with that haughty stance but Adi could not place her. He mentally shrugged and dismissed the woman.

However, she sauntered back into his line of sight a little while longer. This time, he was able to place her within a second. It was as though a switch had suddenly clicked on in his brain. “Agatha!’’ the man called and waving his free hand. “Hey, Agatha!’’

Adi was one hundred percent sure that the woman was her... Agatha Hapgood.

Agatha was used to having her name shouted by random strangers since she was such a fantastic and famous ballerina by now. That, however, only happened in Austria, not England. It hadn't crossed her mind that the person was probably shouting her name for a different reason there.

She didn't flinch when someone started shouting her name in the ice cream parlour, and looked at their general direction to show she was acknowledging the fan when...

That man seemed vaguely familiar. And the way he was waving his hand gave her the impression he knew her, but not from her being famous, but for-

Oh, dear Morgana, it was one of the kids from her old school. What was his name? And just WHO was he again? #conceited

Agatha stared at him long and hard for a few seconds, half trying to place him, half just showing him he had seen her. Then...

She started heading towards the door. No, thank you, she wasn't here to revive her pathetic past.

UNICORNS! 09-15-2019 02:51 AM

The small group of unicorns had strayed from the larger herd, but finding enough food was proving difficult and these few unicorns were sure they had caught a whiff of something delicious as they turned down Diagon Alley.

Normally fairly shy around humans, especially those of the male variety, these unicorns were emboldened by their hunger. And not only that, but the mares were quite concerned for their foals. They needed to eat.

Trotting down the street, their noses soon led them to Florean Fortescue's outdoor seating - there was something so tempting here! And even though there were several humans around, partaking in their own delicious treats, the unicorns trampled into the seating area and helped themselves to the dishes of ice cream on the tables. Not minding the humans trying to eat the ice cream themselves, they eagerly poked their snouts into the bowls, licking up the ice cream as they attempted to fill their bellies.

To relocate from the US to england was a scary large step for the dark haired bloke of 20 years who had his roots in South Dakota. He had his family there, but Chayton had felt he needed to try his own wings so to speak. His parent's hadn't exactly been ecstatic by the news, but they had come around in the end knowing that he need to live his own life. He would still always be loyal to the Lakota tribe and his roots.

After buying a coffee and a cone of ice cream Chayton went out into Floreans outdoor seating area to find a table to sit at. His aim was to people watch, eat and drink his fill as well as look over the open job section of the prophet. What made him stop mid step though which almost made him drop his cup of coffee and ice cream on the ground was the sight of a herd of beautiful unicorns that we're poking their noses into ice cream bowls, right in the middle of the crowded seating area.

Staring Chayton took a cautious step forward, not wanting to scare off the unicorns. Sweet merlins cat's what we're these creatures doing here? Taking another step forward Chayton wondered if he should find someone to alert the alley police or?

Adi saw all too well that Agatha noticed him. He also noted that she seemed puzzled. It was probably because he had grown from a skinny, average- looking guy to a decently built hottie. It would seem that she didn’t quite place him (or maybe she did and wanted to get away from him) because she started heading out. He refused to let her go that easily. How could she? After all, they used to sort of be friends.

Adi abandoned his ice cream for the moment to hurry after the woman. “Just because you’re a famous ballerina, it doesn’t give you the right to be even more stuck up, Agatha,’’ the young man said as he reached her. Yep, he did know of her profession through the Hogwarts alumni grapevine.

October was the optimal time for shopping at Diagon Alley, or at least it was according to Tashina. It wasn't nearly as overrun with annoying kids and crowds like it was in the summer, but it was still warm enough to have ice cream outside, and sometimes the shops had clearance sales for all the things the school children didn't buy. In fact, she had just found some really cool journals for half off.

Carrying her shopping bag as she walked through the street, the nineteen year old headed towards Florean Fortescue's, intending on getting herself a treat, and maybe something for Marisol too, before she headed back to their flat. But it soon became apparent, as she was nearing closer, that there was something very unusual happening at the ice cream shop.

Were those unicorns??

Still walking in that direction, Tashina slowed down as she looked on in confusion and curiosity. Unicorns didn't usually come out to towns.....right? She was correct in remembering that, right? It was just so weird, but... kind of cool at the same time. She tentatively reached for one to carefully pet it when she caught sight of a familiar face.

"........Chayton?" What was he doing here?

Unicorns in the middle of a bustling town around humans was just wrong in so many ways. What would drive the unicorns out of their natural habitat to look for food in Diagon Alley of all places? Had there been any unusual prophet reports recently about creatures? Warning bells rang in Chaytons head as he tried to remember. He needed to do something, but what? No ideas immediately sparked that wouldn’t scare off the unicorns though.

Studying the unicorns curiously Chayton took another step towards them with his forgotten ice cream and coffee still in his hands. He was about to take another step when the voice of one Tashina Youngblood stopped him. Turning to face his very distant cousin Chayton smiled broadly. "Hi Tash! Don’t I get a hug? Aren’t you happy to see me?"

The ice cream might not have been the most nutritional sustenance for this group of unicorns, but it was so delicious and it was filling their empty bellies. The ice cream was even so tempting that they payed little attention to the startled protests of the humans whose ice cream they were "sharing."

It was only when they had had their fill of the frozen delight did any of them seem to realize where they were. First, one mare noticed one of the male humans attempting to approach her and she let out a loud, objecting whinny. And at her distressing cry, one by one, the youngest foals of the group began neighing in a panic as they scrambled around her, knocking over chairs and half-empty bowls of ice cream. One of the fillies, confused and frightened by the sudden chaos, ran off alone towards the middle of Diagon Alley.

One of the fillies, confused and frightened by the sudden chaos, ran off alone towards the middle of Diagon Alley.

..................a hug? Was he serious? Did he know her at all?

With a raised eyebrow, Tashina turned her attention from the unicorn in front of her to the distant cousin across from her. "You didn't answer my question," she said, ignoring his request. "What are you doing here?" she repeated her initial inquiry. Sure, she was happy enough to see him, even if curiosity won out over it, but he wasn't getting a hug. She wasn't a touchy-feely person.

Oh wait.... Tashina jumped back a bit as one of the unicorns got spooked and the little ones began causing havoc around them. She watched, eyes widened a bit in surprise, as they began running away. Yeah, Diagon Alley probably wasn't the best place for them.

The sun was out and the weather was warm, and that meant that Ronnie needed some ice cream on her day off as she did her shopping in Diagon Alley.

It had been awhile since Ronnie had some ice cream from Florean Fortescue's. In fact, now that she thought about it, it had been years... not since her days at Hogwarts, was it? She laughed at the memory as she carried her strawberry ice cream to an empty table. Sitting down, she glanced at the ice cream. She didn't realize how many toppings she had packed on it. There were so many you couldn't even see the ice cream. One might think that it was just a bowl full of toppings. Which she wouldn't have minded, of course. She loooooved toppings. She laughed to herself. She was still a child at heart, that was for sure.

Charlotte was sitting at a table waiting not so patiently for her mother to come back outside with her ice cream. Today’s entire trip had come with a promise of ice cream and she wanted the special treat. With her mama ready to have another baby she knew she’d get forgotten at Hogwarts. So this was important to her. Her big brown eyes looked all around the alley. Sure she had been here before with her mama but this was to get her first year items. She absolutely did not want to miss a thing.

Feeling a slight breeze she straightened her bow and looked over her shoulder to see if her mother would hurry up. At this rate she’d be a second year. Just how long did it take. With a huff she crossed her arms and continued to watch everyone on the street

Catherine didn't quite understand why sometimes her family split between boys and girls. It was a pretty common happening, so she was used to it by now, but she still didn't get it. It would bother her more if she didn't get to spend time alone with daddy, but she had that covered since she was always invading visiting his study anyway.

So this time she wouldn't sulk or complain. She did, however, frown when her mum told her to take a seat while her and Catherine's sister went inside to get the ice creams. She was frowning because not only did she know Scarlett would get to eat half of her weight in ice cream before even leaving the parlour to take a seat - her sister was good at playing their mother saying she just needed to try the flavours 'one last time' before choosing what she wanted. Eye roll. - but Catherine was also told she had to take a seat.

The problem with it now was that all tables seemed to be taken and Catherine was not about to go around speaking to strangers to ask for a seat. It was times like these she wished her best friend Cecelia or even her brother Noah were here. They were the ones who did the talking and sorting out with strangers. Not Catherine. Catherine did not do that and probably never would.

So.. she just stood there. Looking around slightly uncomfortably, shifting from one leg to the other every once in a while.

Urgh, how she hated awkward.

Her mother still wasn’t back and she was starting to get irritated. Like how long did it take for a person to get ice cream? It wasn’t even like she had her other siblings with them to slow the process down. She huffed, one of her curls falling into her face. This was not shaping up to be a great day.

Although by the looks of it the girl who just stood there had it worse. Her face scrunched up in confusion. Why would you just stand around. Clearly there were more seats at her table and while Charlie was certain she looked a bit mean she was fairly certain she didn’t look like she would bite. Finally she decided she would just deal with the rude stranger herself instead of watching the awkwardness.

“You know you could sit at this table...”
she moved her hands to show off the empty seats she had while waiting for her mother to come back. Might as well look less lonely and neglected.

Catherine froze when she was certain there was a strange girl talking to her. Why would anyone talk to a stranger? Because Catherine was a stranger to that girl, so why was the girl talking to her in the first place? Who did that?

The young brunette pursed her lips a little and gulped, taking a deep breath before slowly turning first her gaze then her head towards the girl who had spoken to her. She quickly assessed if this girl seemed at least normal enough and... to be honest, part of her thought she was okay, but the other part couldn't help but feel that she could... hm, Catherine wasn't too sure how to put it into words. There was just something about that girl.

Mum said never to be rude to people - for no reason, Catherine always heard the complement of the sentence in her head - so the eleven quickly looked the other girl up and down before slowly... approaching the table. Then slowly taking a seat across from the unknown girl, making sure she could watch the girl's every move by the corner of her eye.

Trust no one. Well, no strangers, that was for sure.

"Thanks..." Catherine said in a low tone anyway. She was suspicious, yes, but she also had good manners.

Well wasn't she just a ray of sunshine. Charlie seriously regretted her decision to give the girl the rest of her empty table. It wasn't like she was ruthless looking or anything... Okay she did have her scowl on but her dad told her all the time she wasn't actually intimidating yet. She would have to work on that some more--but that was beside the point.

Charlie eyed the other girl, her arms still crossed as she impatiently waited for her mom to come out with the ice cream. A long sigh escaped her as she watched the girl sit down, rolling her eyes Charlie looked at the girl and dryly stated, "I don't bite ya know." She raised an eye brow at the other girl curious as to why she was so standoffish. Charlie didn't want full on chit chat but she wasn't going to kidnap her or something.

The girl's next words made Catherine blink twice and stare half in suspicion, half in doubt. ".....I know. You're not an animal." Catherine was well aware of that, though she also knew what the girl truly meant. But there, it was coming out already. She knew there was something about this girl. Snappy. Judgemental. That eyebrow raise spoke volumes.

This young brunette thought she could, ultimately, deal with anything thanks to all their various pets as well as her various and varied siblings. She was positive there wouldn't be a thing this girl could say that would throw her. Unless she was expecting Catherine to join in conversation. Now that wouldn't happen and the eleven year-old would indeed innerly freak out and feel even more uncomfortable than she was already feeling. No, thank you.

Urgh, but it was so awkward it was almost physically painful. It wasn't like they were sitting in a group and Catherine could simply sit back and let the others do the small talk... it was only her and the strange girl. And she could feel it, the girl was definitely looking at her and studying her and probably judging her too. Not that Catherine herself hadn't been doing that earlier, but still, she wasn't comfortable when others did that to her.

The soon-to-be first year felt her face turn redder and redder as she looked away and towards the ice cream parlour, praying with all her might that her mother and sister would come out of there already, even if without any ice creams. Doubtful, she knew. Her sister would never leave a place empty handed.

Maybe she shouldn't have taken that seat.

Merlin, kill her now.

Blake couldn't believe he was back in Diagon Alley already. Here he was gearing up for his 2nd year at Hogwarts ... well his 2nd year of school anyway since he hasn't actually been to Hogwarts yet. Feeling lucky to have a little freedom form his dad and his 'help' shopping Blake decided to help himself to some ice cream. And since it was such a nice warm sunny day he would sit out side licking his peanut butter ice cream and have a great day.

He needed to make more friends, that was his goal this year. He only ever really talked to Bernadette and Claudine last year .. and could they even be considered friends? I mean Bernadette did say she was going to dance with him at the ball but then they ran out of time before it was over already. That counts for something right?? Lost in his train of thought Blake sat there staring off into nothing .......

Charlie rolled her eyes, of course she wasn’t an animal. This girl was really starting to try her patience. Her mother always told her to be kind to people, yet here she was trying to be kind and all she had to show for it was someone looking at her like she was absolutely dreadful. Now the heat was something dreadful it was just warm enough to make her curly hair frizz. Sighing she adjusted her bow again hoping that it detracted from the frizzy hair.

She was really starting to wonder just how horrid the other girl thought she was when she noticed her face getting really red. Her arms uncrossed, hands landing in her lap, mouth dropping open, and her eyes grew wide. “Are you breathing? Your face looks like a tomato....” she trailed off feeling rude, but not that much since the girl wouldn’t even bother to look at her without looking like she was eating a lemon.

Her eyes swept wide and noticed a boy sitting down a few feet away, but he looked way lost in his train of thought. Hooking her thumb back toward the boy, “Maybe you shoulda sat with him. Seems he’s not a talker.” And there went the last straw of her kindness. Her mother would just have to deal with it once she came back with the ice cream.

Apparently Catherine wasn't the only one who wasn't great at social interactions. The girl's words only made her feel more awkward and out of place, not helping with the redness of her face at all.

Yes, she was breathing, another silly question by the girl. Catherine didn't reply because one: that was a stupid question - yes, there was such a thing as a stupid question - and two: whatever she said wouldn't help the situation, so what was the point?

Catherine resorted to trying to turn away from the girl as discreetly as possible. Maybe she would catch the hint and stop talking to her altogether.

When the strange girl motioned to another table, saying something about how Catherine should have seated with the boy, she both agreed and felt rejected at the same time. As if this situation couldn't get any worse.

Brown eyes looked up at the boy who seemed to be peacefully eating his ice cream and Catherine envied him and his calmness. Although upon studying him a bit more she noticed he was deep in thought, and perhaps something was troubling him. No one as calm and peaceful as she was willing to be right now would look like that. He looked like he was elsewhere. Maybe that wasn't a really bad place to be after all.

So Catherine kept looking at him, both wondering what he was thinking about and also wishing she could be elsewhere, like he was.

Unfortunately she wasn't, and she was fully aware of the other girl still sitting there, definitely still staring all judgementally at her. Urgh.

Blake minding his own business felt his spidey senses tingle. Almost as if there were someone(s) talking about him or looking at him. He couldn't be sure though without looking around, but he was semi afraid of who it might be. What if he ended up having to talk to strangers ... jeez.... and once again he proved to himself how un-Slytherin he really was.

Taking a deep breath and looked around and saw two girls looking at him ... that must be what trigger his paranoia. Blushing the color of a tomato once again (it was kind of his signature move). He gave a half smile and turned back toward his ice cream ... maybe they would just go away.............

It was summer time, one of Wade's favorite times of the year. When he was younger it was even more so since it was a break from schooling and seeing his friends. Now though, even though he was full fledged adult with a family, some things never changed. He could get himself some ice cream while Indy was helping the kiddies shop. He got them some surprise gifts and with the hot weather a break was needed.

After getting his ice cream he went out to have a seat somewhere. Wade was going towards an empty table when he somehow spotted someone. He had a wave of familiarity overcome him as he carefully took in her appearance. "... Ronnie?" Holy Hippogriffs, it had to be a long time friend.

As Ronnie ate her ice cream, she heard a familiar voice say her name. They were saying her name, right? She wasn't going crazy? Glancing up, she looked around quickly until she spotted where the familiar voice came from. Merlin! Was that Wade?!

"Wade!" she gasped, beaming at him. She hadn't seen him in years. And now that she thought about it, they had first met here at Florean's! "Funny running into you here... didn't we first meet here?" she laughed, standing to give him a hug. Merlin's beard, that seemed like such a long time ago... she hadn't realized how much time had flown. "Care to join me?" she added, gesturing to her empty table. How nice it was to see a familiar friendly face.

Jina was back in Diagon Alley. This time, she was alone, without her parents. She finished her school shopping in the previous week. Now she just wanted to look around some more. After visiting some shops, she found herself in front of Florean Fortescue's. She had in her hands a bag containing a few dresses from Madam Malkin's, another bag with some books for light reading. She put the bags down on a free outdoor table and sat down on a comfortable seat. Wiping the sweat from her forehead, she tucked her long hair behind her ears. She wondered if she should get a scoop of ice cream, or just return home. Her eyes focused on the menu on the table. The flavours sounded delicious ... she should probably try one before leaving. But which flavour should she get?
