Equally as important as the ice cream flavour one chooses is the toppings that one puts upon it. A good topping or two can make or break a personal sundae, so once you've picked your poison flavour, the toppings bar is the next logical stop on the road to ice cream nirvana! The setup is rather impressive and can seem intimidating at first, but don't fret. This magical machine is easy enough to operate, given a moment and some patience.
A series of medium-sized glass tubes containing any topping one could dream of (and some nobody would dare to) hover precariously over a long, shiny tray that is inset into the countertop. At any given time this tray can be found with any myriad of missed toppings mixed together inside of it; the more adventurous customers sometimes choose to pick up the small scooper that can be found at its edge & scoop their toppings from those that did not land on someone else's ice cream. If you'd prefer to make your own choices, however, merely say your decided-upon topping or toppings to the machine, and it will release a small amount of it into the corkscrew spun glass chutes. Watch carefully and make sure to position your ice cream in the right place, because all of the chutes merge together into one to drop your tasting ice cream additives onto your bowl or cone!
The machine is magical and will clear itself of any topping residue between customers, so you needn't worry about getting sticky caramel sauce or the lingered tastes of meat chunks if the person before you made some decisions you don't agree with. However, if you should find that help is necessary, another tap bell can be found at the end of the counter to summon the shopkeeper or assistant.

As usual, Mum and Penny had opted not to get any ice cream, leaving Isa as the only one in her family getting ice cream. There were so many flavors to choose from! Was chocolate frog different from plain chocolate? She would have to try it to find out. Chocolate frog ice cream cone in hand, Isa headed over to the toppings bar to get toppings for her ice cream. Hmmm, which ones should she get? Important decision here. Rainbow sprinkles were a must. What else should she get? How about caramel sauce and chocolate chips? That sounded good. Isa told the machine which toppings she wanted on her ice cream and watched as the toppings fell onto the cone, with some of the chocolate ships and sprinkles falling into the tray below. That machine was so cool! It could drop multiple toppings on the ice cream from the same chute and it had magically vanished the caramel sauce that had stuck to the machine. How did that work? Was it charmed? Could she get a cool machine like this? Obviously the most important part was the candy.

My sister is at Ollivander's right now, and I think we are going to stay at The Leaky Cauldron because we don't normally live around here and we have a lot of business to do in Diagon Alley. I'm going to go to muggle school but I'm a great pen pal. I can send you an owl anytime you want. I'd love to be friends."
Floreans was the best place in Diagon Alley. Subsequently... it was always crowded. Jaemin wasn't really feeling crowds right now, but he definitely wanted his ice cream... and he had come all this way with his mom, so it would be wrong of him to waste the trip. And he'd already slipped away from her while she went about doing her shopping stuff on the Muggle side of the town... so he was going to get his ice cream. The small teen waited patiently in line, grey hair peeking from under a snapback, hands shoved into the pockets of his jeans as he shuffled behind a lady and waited his turn.
The toppings machine made trying new things rather easy. Jaemin collected his bowl of ice cream (one scoop strawberry, one scoop brownie batter) and headed over there, looking up at all the tubes that presented the various mix-ins. Everything looked yummy... chewing his lip absently, he whispered to the machine.
"Cherries... strawberries... chocolate sauce..." he watched the things combine as they came down their chutes, and held his bowl under it eagerly. "Chocolate whip."

She nodded. Yes, there were lots of choices. Yes, the gummy bears did look good. "I think there's too many choices, though," she said. "I mean, that's not a bad thing, but I just can't decide." OHHHH! "Chocolate chips...I like that idea!" she replied. Before she could change her mind, she sprinkled some of those on her ice cream, too.
"Gummy bears are always good in ice cream," she said. "I like the feel of the harder gummy bears mixed in with the soft ice cream." She was probably done with toppings for now. No...no, she wasn't. SPRINKLES! "I think this is it for me," she said, adding the sprinkles. "I ended up with gummy bears, chocolate chips, and sprinkles." She stepped to the side so as not to block the bar. Using the toppings bar was fun! Licking the caramel sauce that was dripping off her ice cream, Isa looked up at the girl who was speaking to her. "Hi Alyce! I'm Isa! My real name is Isabel but everyone calls me Isa and I prefer Isa. I'm eleven and I'll be starting at Hogwarts this year. Are you going to Hogwarts?" Hello new best friend. Isa liked meeting new people, and she was especially looking forward to making friends at Hogwarts. Alyce wanted to know how the machine worked, and Isa would be happy to help her figure it out. "The toppings machine is magic. All you have to do is tell it what you want and it will give you the toppings! It's really cool, and it has pretty much any kind of topping you can think of to choose from!" Isa loved using the toppings machine just as much as she enjoyed eating the ice cream. With the endless combinations of toppings to experiment with, she could play with it all day, but there were other people who wanted to use it and Isa didn't have enough space on the ice cream to put everything. She probably wouldn't like some of the weirder toppings anyway.

"Umm..Hi Henry." He said his sister is going to Hogwarts? "What year she's in?" Maybe she's a first year like her. And he said something bout being pen pal? "Yeah sure. I'm not a writer. I'm not really good with writing a letter but yeah sure." Shrug.

The toppings machine is magic. She figure that one out, Isa. Thank you very much. So she just need to tell the machine what kind of topping that she want? NEAT!! The red hair told the machine that she want Gummy bear and just like that the topping came out from the machine. "I LOVE magic!!" Well, muggle have this kind of things to but not quite like this. "So, have you got your wand yet, Isa?"

Well, most of them anyway. "But you can't really put everything on top." Or could you? Henry eyed the topping as if that might be a challenge that he should accept, but he thought better of it. "Probably would just be... too much."
Once he had a sprinkling of gummy bars, chocolate chips, and a couple scoops of marshmallow fluff, he looked to see if there was anything else he might want or if that should be enough. "I like chewy gummy bears, but I think they're a good mix with ice cream either way," he said with a nod. Candy went good with it. Oh, sprinkles? "This is it for me." She grabbed one of the spoons from a tray on the bar and poked it into her ice cream. Pulling the spoon back out again, she took the first bite of her tasty treat. "Mmmm..."
Then they were on to the introductions part of their conversation. "Well, Henry," she said, walking away from the bar. "You want to go get a table?" She didn't mean that to sound so straightforward, but they couldn't exactly stand up here and block the bar, could they? She nodded. "Yeah. I'm a third year at Hogwarts," she said. "What about you?" That was the obvious next question. As she took another bite of her ice cream, she stepped away from the bar yet walked slowly enough for Henry to catch up. Was it just her, or did he look familiar?

SHE was on a mission. Had been ever since returning to London really. She must have missed the day the Hogwarts Express had returned which was a REAL pity because she had the whole scene planned out in her head. She would run to him and he would catch her and they would snog passionately right there on the platform because the doofus had FINALLY realized his true affections for her and would stop being in denial. But...alas...the stupid carriage back from Beauxbatons had ruined everything. That ruddy school was ruining everything.
Correct lip gloss tucked away in the pocket of her skirt - thank you Torrance - Sachiko stalked surveyed the streets looking for HER Prince Jaemin...and she had spotted him. HEHE.
Such a genius too, knowing that she had been wanting him to treat her to ice cream.
Slinking up behind him, she cutely placed her hands over his eyes and whispered in his ear. "Guess whooooooo..."

Henry didn't necessarily think that having all the toppings sounded bad, but it probably did defeat the purpose of having ice cream. "Oh, you're probably right... It would be mostly candy and cookies, with a little ice cream mixed in underneath," he added with a chuckle. "But I might try that someday, just to see what it was like." Try everything once, right? But that day would not be today and he had enough toppings on his ice cream now. "Me too," he nodded and grabbed his own spoon after she did.
The 14 year old took a bite of his sundae then glanced up at Ariadne. "Oh sure! Probably shouldn't just stand here and eat," he laughed. There were still open tables even if it was busy and it probably wasn't a good idea to block everyone else from their toppings anyway. And he certainly didn't mind making a new friend, seeing as he didn't see anyone he knew around anyway. Even if he did, he'd probably invite her along too since he was like that.
He walked alongside her, letting her decide where to sit, and he nodded as she confirmed that she did go to Hogwarts. He thought so. "Yeah.. Fourth year Hufflepuff," he grinned. Henry did wonder which house she was in, fairly certain she wasn't a Badger though; he knew most of those, or at least knew of them.

He had been waiting patiently for the chocolate whip to come out of the machine, and had been looking up at the tubes to see if there was anything else he wanted. He absolutely had not been paying attention to those around him, nor had he expected anyone to talk to him, much less touch him. So when the hands closed over his eyes, and the whisper came in his ear, Jaemin's whole body jerked in surprise. He let out a quiet gasp, hand chasing blindly after the bowl that the involuntary motion had slid under the floating tubes of toppings; it took him a moment to recognise the whisper, and the bowl was momentarily abandoned as he reached to instead pull her hands away.
"S-Sachiko?!" he stammered, his own hand bumping the hat on his head and nudging it up a bit. "How did you find me??"
At least they weren't in the Primpernelle's shop. Now she had no reason to try kissing on him. Also, they were surrounded by other people. There were WITNESSES this time. So hopefully she wouldn't pin him down on the floor.

Henry did wonder which house she was in, fairly certain she wasn't a Badger though; he knew most of those, or at least knew of them.
Ariadne paused mid-bite. "You know, now that you mention it, loads of candy with just a little bit of ice cream mixed in does sound kind of good. Maybe I'll try that during a Hogsmeade weekend or something," she said, mostly thinking out loud to herself. She followed him out to the seating area and instinctively slid into a chair pushed up to an open table. She took another bite of her ice cream then looked up at her new friend. "Oh, cool. It's amazing how after two years at Hogwarts, I'm still meeting people I don't know," she said. You would think by now she'd know everybody.
This boy knew her name and what year she was in, but she'd neglected one very important detail. "Oh, I'm a Slytherin by the way," she added. "I meant to tell you earlier, but I got lost in the whole ice cream preparation thing." She looked across at her new friend and wondered if he knew where in the world all the Hufflepuffs were last year. They were barely in any classes and pretty much fell well below the other houses in the house points race. She decided not to bring that up, though. Then, just when she was about to change the topic and say something completely different...

His eyes went wider, if possible, and the small teen froze as warm lips pressed to his own. Warm, sticky, tasty flavoured lips. His ears went even darker red, contrasting darkly against his grey hair and the black hat concealing most of it; he was still as stone for a long moment, confused by the warm tingling along his skin, before he pulled back hard and fast, blinking furiously.
"You can't just..." he stammered, accidentally and quite thoughtlessly licking his lips before reaching to swipe the back of his hand over them. The flavour was... familiar, and there was a slight nagging in the back of his head to figure out what it was, but that was more overwhelmed by his need for that to not happen again thank you very much. "There's people everywhere..."
Where had his ice cream gone... without thinking he turned away from her and reached for the bowl under the tubes of toppings. Priorities, Jaemin. Priorities.

She looked down at her clothes, which were starting to dry in a sticky sort of way. What a way to introduce yourself to someone new...and a BOY at at that.

Harriet absolutely loved ice cream. If she could live on ice cream and be healthy she would. That was why she made sure that she always had an ice cream whenever she was in Diagon Alley. That wasn't a lot these days since she was at Hogwarts for most of the year. But since it was summer she was taking advantage of being about to have ice cream from Floreans. Today was no different. She'd come shopping with her mother, who needed to collect a few things, but now they were going to get ice cream!
Her mother was sitting outside, and Hattie had gone in to get them both some ice cream. She'd decided on chocolate frog, and vanilla coops for both of them and now she was going to go and get the toppings. The toppings were her favorite bit. She beamed, as she set the two tubs of ice cream down. Now to decide on what toppings she wanted!

Can't just what? Gosh why did he have to be so shy about all this?
"Taste good?" she giggled. She had pleeeeeeeenty of lip gloss left in the bottle. "So? Now everyone here knows that you are mine." It really was a win win situation, gosh. He was so lucky she was here to point these things out to him.
Still basically hanging on him, Sachiko invited herself to be dragged around a bit as he went to fetching his ice cream. "Are you here alooooooooooone?"

Receiving her cup of chocolate frog and strawberry ice cream the teen made her way over to the toppings station. Maybe she would get just some sprinkles and cherries on top. She had gotten a little bit sluggish lately having been enjoying her summer break so she wouldn't be overdoing it on toppings. Checking out what was available hazel eyes landed on the younger girl ahead of her. It took only a few moments before she knew for sure whom she was looking at, Hattie, the boyfriends little sister. A small smile formed on her face, "Hello Hattie," Hady greeted lightly moving beside the younger girl.

Henry noticed once he returned with the napkins that she no longer had a sundae. He figured she probably threw out what remained of it and, while he probably would have tried to salvage what was left had it been him, he did feel bad that she had no more ice cream while he still had half his sundae.
"No problem.. yeah, magic would've been a little more helpful," he said nodding a bit. "Maybe some water from the restroom sink.." he added as a suggestion. It seemed to have kind of left a stain on her clothes, but that was probably the best that was going to happen with a few dry napkins. "Or maybe your mom can use a spell when you get home." He glanced down at the half of a sundae he had left then back at Ariadne. "Do you want to share what I have left?" He didn't mind, really, but did it sound weird? He had shared ice cream with others before, but maybe she'd think it weird having just met him. Well, the offer was out there for her to decide whether she wanted to accept it or not.
"Oh, I went to Hogsmeade a lot last year," he nodded when she brought it up. "That's where you live? That's cool.. So do you ride the train to school then, or do you just walk over when it's time to go?" That would make things super convenient, though maybe it was a little exciting to see everyone there after summer. "It is nice to get out of the school once in a while, and.. well, I guess you already know what's there," he added with a chuckle. And he might have also thought that it would be really nice to be that close to home. He didn't feel it quite as much last year, but he did get homesick some, especially in his first year.
"Oh really? That's kind of like my family," the fourteen year old smiled. "All of my family's been in Hufflepuff. Well, at least all the ones that went to Hogwarts." And he had been certain that he'd be one too. "I always thought people in families tended to stay in the same house, but then I met a lot of people who had family in all different houses." And he didn't think it mattered at all, he had just found it curious at the time since he always had that original thought. "I have friends in all the houses too," he nodded happily. "Do you like being in Slytherin?" He'd imagine she'd say yes, but he was always curious about what people thought.

"Ah, I didn't think you'd be here in Diagon Alley all alone." There was just noway. Hattie was way to young, she herself wasn't aloud here alone until just a few terms ago and that was if she was meeting someone.
"All ready for your trip and then back to Hogwarts?" Was she super excited about it? Paris was somewhere she had never been but was totally looking forward to going. When she thought about going back to school she was having mixed feelings. It being her last year she wasn't sure how she felt.
