If sitting inside just isn't your thing, Floreans offers you an alternative option to wandering the streets of Diagon with your tasty confection. Outside of the shop doors, in a small, well-kept courtyard out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the rest of Diagon Alley, there can be found small, colourful tables with a handful of equally colourful chairs scattered about. While our ice cream is charmed to be slow-melting, our customers, we assume, are not, and thus each table is equipped with an umbrella that can be opened or closed at your discretion. These tables, like the ones inside, can be pushed together or pulled apart to accommodate any size party, but please do take care to think of others who might be sitting around you!
A napkin dispenser can be found at every table, along with a small wooden stand bearing spare plastic spoons and a bunch of small, prepackaged wet-wipes to help clean up those sticky hands.
And please don't try to remove any of the tables or chairs from the courtyard. The seating, while not fixed down, is charmed to be unable to leave the small space. So don't get any ideas! Just sit back, relax, and enjoy your ice cream.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.

No matter, because she was amused and not in the least bit annoyed.
Even though she knew that she probably wouldn't win, the redhead could NEVER back down from a competition and so she began to run after him. Reaching the table a few moments after him, she took a seat across from him. "Typical of you to hunt down the ORANGE chair." Hehe. Lux would have done the exact same thing in his place, except it would be in looking for a BLUE one. Blue had been her favourite colour for as long as she could remember, and it would continue to be for the rest of her life.
Adi sat snugly in his orange chair, smiling innocently at Lux when she finally caught up. "What a slow poke you are. Gosh.'' He sniggered. "Of course! Orange is the best. There are lots of blue around too... and one right here.'' In addition to looking for orange, he had looked for a table with a blue chair. See how considerate he was?
Right. So, Lux must or must not be wondering why they were out for ice cream. He had something to tell her. Something that impacted his life in a HUGE way. Adi's expression turned a bit serious. "Lux, I've been thinking a lot lately about me and Benny. We've been together for a while and I want to propose to him.'' Yep. He wanted to do that soon too!
Simon Holden hadn't seen Emmylou in ages. He was excited to see her in person and catch up on everything that had been happening in her life. He hoped that she was doing well. She had always been such a friendly and sweet individual and especially welcoming to him. She was one of the first people that he had met at Hogwarts during his first year. And he really did wish the best for her as she had always been so kind to him.
Thus for such a sweet girl- young woman- he thought that meeting at Florean's was the perfect venue. As he waited for her, he pulled out his cellphone and quickly sent a couple of emails to his coworkers.
The newly brunette woman looked at her phone as she entered Diagon Alley. She knew that she was going to be a couple minutes late. She had even left early to drop Mason off at her grandmother's house. The former Gryffindor put her cellphone into her back pocket and made her way towards Florean Fortescue's. She looked around with her bright blue eyes, she knew that Simon would be here somewhere.
Emmylou finally found Simon and waved at him with a big smile. She made her way over to him. "Hey Simon!" she said with her Alabama accent, always tearing her apart from the others around her when she was in a different country. Emmylou took a seat in the chair across from his. She set her purse on top of the table.

Miranda was finally able to shed the siblings for the afternoon and got permission to meet up with some friends. That is if she were lucky enough to bump into someone while she was out. She thought it was the perfect kind of day for ice cream and so to Florean's she went, because of course theirs was the best ice cream you could get in Diagon Alley.
She walked through the already open door and stood in line to make her order... Well, first she'd have to make a choice... And that was always the hardest part of all. Wasn't it?! ... SOOoo many choices!! And there really were too many to pick from. She was hoping to not hold up the lines as her eyes scanned the menu that she'd read a thousand times... She could probably recite it by heart but being the creature of habit that she was , she stood there mouthing along to the flavors offered as her eyes read along.

The problem with being the youngest was people forgot about you. His brothers might have brought him to DA, but he quickly realized it was their way of just keeping their mom of their backs and he was left to go get ice cream while they did whatever they did.
Walking in Kyle decided on a mixing a few flavors together. Getting the scoops in a dish. Paying he turned and headed out to the courtyard. It was a busy day, but he found an empty table in the corner of the seating area and sat down to eat his ice cream.
Ice cream was always a must when he stopped by Diagon Alley, especially on a hot day like today. He probably should have invited a friend to come along with him, but it had been more of a spontaneous decision to come today and sometimes this was just as fun - see who he might bump into.
The fifth year got a double scoop dish of chocolate frog ice cream and made his way out into the courtyard seating area. Not seeing anyone he knew, Henry took a seat at an empty table. Maybe someone he knew would stop by, but even if no one did, he could flip through his newly bought copy of WSPM while he enjoyed his ice cream.

Miranda finally made her choice(s)and had the clerk put her cone up in a dish so she wouldn't lose any of her precious prailene ice cream. She went to go and find a spot to sit and everywhere had people .... But there was one table with a lone boy sitting there and three other seats... You do the math... She wanted a seat and there were 3 perfect grand chairs for the taking... And she did too.. She walked right over to him and said, " Hello, There... Mind if I join you?... You've got the last three seats and my ice cream is melting... "Hint hint.. she made sure to use her most friendly smile and hoped she didn't look like a ninny standing there with grin for nothing...

He looked up and then looked at the chairs. He didn't say anything at first. His mind was thinking, not really thinking about whether or not she joined him, that he didn't care, but what and how to respond. "People are sitting there. Can't you see them?" He gave the empty chairs weird looks as if he was actually looking at people that were just invisible.
What it could happen!
Looking back at the girl, "These are my brothers this is Dom, this is Jaq, and this is Bob." He laughed as if one of them just told a joke.
It was that time of year again. The time for school supply shopping for the upcoming term. This seventh year Slytherin was not much one for shopping. He hated getting new clothes because they were always stiff and didn't have that wear and tear feel. He also had to bring his cousins and whole family here or else he wouldn't hear the end of it. When he managed to shake off his family and decided to go get ice cream on his own, he let out a sigh of relief. He could finally have some peace. He walked over to his own table and just sat there relaxing his legs. He wasn't much of a walker but he loved running.
He found the ice cream menu and began to wonder what he was going to have. Would it either be mint chip or cookie dough. Such tough decisions. He even looked at his view and wondered if he would see anyone. He was still baffled he made it to the end of his term at Hogwarts.

So the only reason why Katerina was here was because aher brother made her come, but her mom gave her money to get ice cream. Well she gave her money and that money was going to ice cream. It was a hot day today, perfect for ice cream. She had already lost Phillip in the crowd. Well not really it was more like she went one way and he went another.
She went toward the ice cream shop went in and got cone of butterbeer flavored ice cream. It was way too crowded inside, and so was outside, so the soon to be fourth year headed to the courtyard. She wondered around eating her ice cream and looking around finding somewhere to sit. Seeing Henry she slowly made her way over and sat next to him. "Hi Henry." She grinned as she sat down.

Simon almost had to do a double take when he looked for the familiar voice that called his name. Woah. She looked different. It was a good kind of different though. However, he knew that voice and accent anywhere. "Emmylou! You look terrific," he said with a grin before quickly recovering. Oh Merlin! "Uh.. That's not to say that you don't always look terrific. Being a brunette suits you just as well as blonde did." He was still as awkward as every. He smiled. "What made you dye your hair brown?"
"How have you been?" he asked and then caught himself. He was asking so many questions once again as he was eager to see his old schoolmate. It was still weird, thinking that they had been out of Hogwarts for such a long time now. "Whoops. There I go asking too many questions again." He chuckled, blushing the slightest shade of pink. He was just happy to see her.

Tired, overheating and restless were the three words best used to describe Aslan Evan's current state of existence. She had spent the better part of her day job hunting in the alley and it's darker sister of knockturn to little avail. She was unfazed, however, by these failures.
Time would tell.
Change would come, and one way or another she would claw her way out of this. She was a Lion, after all and that meant something big.
Having metaphorically floated her way through the alley Aslan found herself before the busied ice cream shoppe. Her stomach grumbled and it was only then that she realized she'd forgotten to feed herself. Idly checking her pockets, she decided she had enough loose change for a one-scope ice cream cone.
Standing unconsciously close a classmate, Aslan looked about for a menu.

JP walked around and look at the tables available. Remembering that his father told him that it would be wise to make friends with people regardless of their house.
JP walked over to a table and saw someone sitting on their own.
Jp took out his little canary companion and spoke to him. "Here goes nothing, Ollie." JP took a deep breath and asked nervously " Hi, mind if I sit down?"

Ice-cream was possibly one of the best ways to conclude a shopping trip. Her father had taken her to get her new robes before the time came to meet with Derf for a midday treat and she'd be lying through her teeth if she said she wasn't super excited for this.
The people at Hogwarts were nice and all, and she'd made friends with a few of them but aside from the holidays where she went home, it was a whole lot of time not seeing her him. She really missed her bestie and had SO MUCH to catch him up on!!
"Let's sit here." She offered, pulling out a chair somewhere in the middle of the little courtyard. Their table had been cut short by another group that had been seeking to make theirs larger and more accommodating to their larger number. Most of them she recognized from school, something she couldn't say just a year ago.
Jessa flopped into her seat, already very much looking forward to the double scoop of strawberry ice-cream. "We could mix out flavours if you want."

F I N A L L Y!
Not that he hadn't had the opportunity before but today was TOTALLY different. Now he had real reason to poke and prod best friend Jessa aaaaaaaaall about Hogwarts besides innocent curiosity. He had asked his mum a few things, seeing as she had gone to Hogwarts...and been a professor...and a head of house, but that had been AGES go. Like...FOUNDER ERA ages ago and everything he had seen in the Prophet and elsewhere was not exactly like his mum had described.
So today he was ready to pick Jessa's experience apart about everything. EVERYTHING!
"How much do you haff left?" he asked as he rolled his cauldron to a stop by their table - these things were BIG and HEAVY, alright? "Maybe we s-should just get a s-s-sundae to s-s-split."
Had she gotten her fwooper, by the way? He probably should have asked that now before he forgot because it wasn't on his list of inquiries.

Pfft. Lux rolled her eyes in amusement as she got comfortable in her chair. "You know that I would have beat you if the race was done fair and square." As it was he had a head start on her from the very beginning. As it was she found the whole thing as funny as he did. Besides, they were here to eat ice cream, not compete with each other. Though, competitions WERE fun... "I really do like my blue chair! It is just the prettiest colour ever." BEAM.
What ice cream did she want? Lux ran through all the options in her head. It was going to be either chocolate or Chocolate Frog in all probability though she was up for a few others. Maybe not the more adventurous kinds, but there was nothing wrong with trying new things.
Her eyes widened at what he said next. Not because she hadn't been expecting it to happen EVER, but because she hadn't thought it would happen NOW. "For real? Have you bought the ring yet??"

She didn't envy Derf for the cauldron he had to be hauling around with him. Those things were SUPER heavy and her daddy had been the one to carry around her stuff. The most she'd done was tell him what she wanted and help him speculate her size when it came to her school uniforms. For the most part, he got it right.
Derf's question had her reaching into her pocket. It took some time but the 12 year old was finally catching on to wizarding currency. No longer did she pull random coins from her pocket and hope it was enough (which it usually was). "Uhhh..." Jessa laid the coins out before her, noticeably locked in concentration. "Three galleons....six--wait no, seven sickles and ten knuts." Pale blue eyes rose to meet his. "Will that get us a good sundae?"
There were many things the little girl prided herself on knowing. Wizarding things were slowly getting onto the list but not quite there yet.
"I hope we can get a bunch of flavours. I think I wanna have some of the chocolate frog one. Lexa loves it."

Pewter. Standard size 2.
Derf hated to think what size 1 was like. Or 3...which way did cauldrons even go? Was 1 the biggest or smallest? Why hadn't anyone told him this? Now he was distracted by logistics of cauldrons and he had far better things to be concerned about. But..also...why not Collapsible Cauldrons? Those surely were better space savers AND less heavy. He wouldn't have to roll that around Diagon Alley like he had been all morning with this one.
Which also prompted a thought. MAYBE he could get Jessa to roll HIM around while he was inside the cauldron...
"A large s-sundae i-s-s-s only one galleon," he informed her with an eager nod of the head. Which...Jessa had. She had THREE even. "Bunch of flavors included."
To be polite though...he pulled out his own little coin bag and set his remaining currency on the table. Which was really a not-so-humble mountain of knuts now - it was just easier giving the shopkeepers the most valuable currency in his possession and let them do all the math figuring out change and whatever.

Jessa quickly turned her attention from her own money and the idea of apparently having enough when Derf emptied a whole mountain onto their table. "Whoa...." That....was a whole lot of knuts right there. She leaned onto the table, trying to size it all up. "How many of these make a galleon? I always forget." He must have had a whole ton of galleons in there!
"Since I already have a galleon, we'll use it and you can give me the half you would'a given the shopkeeper." However many knuts that ended being. She really wished she'd been paying more attention.
"I can go get it while you sort...." The Ravenclaw gave little hand gestures towards his generous pile, "this out." Her own money was scooped back into her pocket. "What flavours do you want in it?"

Maybe...juuuuuuuuuuuuust maybe he should have emptied his coin bag into his cauldron rather than on the table as now there were knuts e v e r y w h e r e.
Thanks to the special qualities of his mokeskin pouch, of course. It wasn't as neat as his magical suitcase dad had enchanted for him to use for school...but this did already for his money.
"Uuuuuuuuuuuum..." he mumbled as he dove under the table to retrieve some of the copper coins before they rolled too far away. "...400," he said with a false confidence. He KNEW the first number was a 4 at least and round numbers made the most sense with this sort of thing. Why have an ODD number of coins? Couldn't divide that up evenly and then some coins would be left out and it just sounded messy.
The logic made sense in his head.
See? Half. Half of 4 was 2 and therefore he needed to count 200 coins to give to Jessa between now and when she returned with the sundae. Maybe he wouldn't be so bad at Arithmancy after all!
"Chocolate frog for s-s-sure," he nodded from under the table, still scooping knuts into his hands. "OH AND BUTTERBEER!" he chirped, sitting up a bit too suddenly and smacking his head on the underside of the table with an unceremoniously loud THUD.

Jessa cringed at the sudden and oh so loud sound of her friend's head colliding with the table. That sounded like it hurt an awful lot and if he started to bleed out she was going into full panic mode because with all she'd learned, NOTHING TAUGHT HER HOW TO HEAL PEOPLE.
She leaned over, trying to get a better look at him from under the table. "Promise me you'll still be conscious when I get back, okay?" For real, don't die Derf! Not for little bronze coins, they were worth the least!
The soon to be Second Year straightened and spared him another glance before turning to head into the shop. So far, she knew they wanted chocolate frog, strawberry and butterbeer which probably left room for a whole lot more. Bastien had let her taste the jelly slug flavour that one time....maybe that could be added too.
By the time she finally got to the counter, Jessa was solidly convinced that choosing ice-cream flavours was harder than the exams she had to take before heading home. In the end, she got the shopkeeper to help with the extra flavours before heading back out to the table and the hopefully more sorted bestfriend.
No more coins, yeah?

Imma say all the words inside my head____________________________________
______________________________I'm fired up and tired of the way that things are said.
Colt was looking at his menu and he looked up and saw a girl standing there. He debated asking if she should join him. He wouldn't be a gentlemen if he didn't offered but then again she was providing some nice shade. He cleared his throat and said, "You know that seat is empty if you would prefer.." he motioned towards his empty seat across from him. She looked familiar though. She seemed to be in the same year too. He couldn't help but observe and wonder where he knew her from. "I'm sorry you look so familiar.." he commented.
The twenty-one year old beamed with joy when she had seen Simon and the way that he was looking at her, she couldn't help but blush a rosy color. "T-thank you!" she said while nodding. "You look amazing as well!" Was that too much to say? Oops. "No, no. I know what you mean. It's alright! You're perfect!" she blinked a little before blushing more. She looked away with her bright blue eyes and just let the gaze upon the table for a moment or two before looking back up at him. "I just felt like I needed a change." A fresh new start.
Emmylou shook her head and let out a light giggle. "It's alright, I don't mind. We haven't seen each other in a few years." the Southern belle blushed. "I wish I could say great but I've been a lot better." she shrugged. She wished her life was different and even if her and Kace could still be together but she was happy to be a mother, no matter how hard it was to her. The only thing that really bugged her lately was when people would tell her to get over Kace or to find someone new. She knew that she would never stop loving Kace but she also knew that she would find someone knew that will never leave her but at the end of the day she had to worry about her son and not dating.

Would it be bad if he ordered ice cream and start eating it without waiting for Cornelius? Or better yet, what about ordering TWO ice creams so when the now fourth year showed up he was going to have his ice cream ready. See? Efficiency at its finest.
Hugo ordered two scoops of cookies and cream for him and...two scoops of chocolate for Cornelius. He actually wasn't sure what kind of flavour he liked but was hoping that chocolate will do and that Cornelius wasn't like him 'cause Hugo didn't liked chocolate. He went to find a seat outside and wait for him and also cast a charm on Cornelius' ice cream so it wouldn't melt.

If he wasn't so busy still collecting his knuts, Derf would be rolling his eyes at how dramatic Jessa's words were. He had falling from trees and had some of his mum's things fall on his head from on top of pretty high cabinets and shelves and stayed conscious just fine. It would be pretty hard for him to knock himself out. He hadn't even been knocked out by a bludger yet!
"Uh.........huh," he merely nodded in reply as he moved under a chair next to scoop up more coins.
However....once Jessa was out of sight a certain URGE came over the 11-year-old...and it was an urge itching way too much not to scratch.
So he did.
Flopping on to his stomach, sprawled out on the ground and with his tongue sticking out of his mouth for dramatic emphasis, with his eyes closed and waaaaaaaaaaaaaited JUST like that for her to return with their ice cream.

With his copy of WSPM laid out on the table in front of him, Henry browsed through some of the articles as he started eating his chocolate frog ice cream. He paused as he noticed a brief mention about his sister. Her name wasn't found very often in sports magazines anymore, but he found this rumor blurb about her joining Cannons practices to be interesting, especially as they were speculating her return to the game. Well. He knew the truth about that.
He was so involved in the magazine that he hadn't even noticed Kat until she sat down next to him and spoke his name. Looking up suddenly, he turned and gave the girl a grin. "Hey, Kat! How's summer going?" She certainly was welcome company. And he wouldn't mind catching up with her a little bit as he hadn't seen her in a while.
But not more than a moment passed before a younger boy had stopped at their table asking to join them. The more the merrier, right? And was that a canary on the kid's shoulder? Cool. "Yeah, sure, have a seat," the fifteen year old grinned at the boy. "I'm Henry and this is my good friend Katerina," he added as an introduction, gesturing to the girl sitting with him.
