If sitting inside just isn't your thing, Floreans offers you an alternative option to wandering the streets of Diagon with your tasty confection. Outside of the shop doors, in a small, well-kept courtyard out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the rest of Diagon Alley, there can be found small, colourful tables with a handful of equally colourful chairs scattered about. While our ice cream is charmed to be slow-melting, our customers, we assume, are not, and thus each table is equipped with an umbrella that can be opened or closed at your discretion. These tables, like the ones inside, can be pushed together or pulled apart to accommodate any size party, but please do take care to think of others who might be sitting around you!
A napkin dispenser can be found at every table, along with a small wooden stand bearing spare plastic spoons and a bunch of small, prepackaged wet-wipes to help clean up those sticky hands.
And please don't try to remove any of the tables or chairs from the courtyard. The seating, while not fixed down, is charmed to be unable to leave the small space. So don't get any ideas! Just sit back, relax, and enjoy your ice cream.
After a long and hot day of shopping, this soon to be sixth year slytherin needed some relief and fast. He was desperate to find anything. He looked left and right and saw a ice cream parlor. He sighed in relief and walked on over. He decided he wanted a booth because he needed to relax his feet. This guy thought wearing flip flops was a great idea for Diagon Alley. Nah not really with all the cobblestones and continuous walking. He plopped his feet up and looked at the menu and decided on what he wanted. Man there was so many choices. What to choose?
After a long and hot day of shopping, this soon to be sixth year slytherin needed some relief and fast. He was desperate to find anything. He looked left and right and saw a ice cream parlor. Oliver wandered into the ice cream shop, standing behind an older boy. He had to look around him to see the menu. He was pretty sure what he wanted but sometimes reading the menu helped him make a spontaneous decision.
He kinda recognized the older kid. He was a Slytherin too, right? "So many choices.." He said and grinned. Someone too many choices could be bad and other times it was wonderful. This time it was wonderful.

He scanned the menu and couldn't decide really. "I mean you can make so many combinations if you wanted to be daring that is.." He thought about putting chocolate and mint chocolate chip together but that might an overload. He looked at him again and thought he looked familiar. "Have I seen you around somewhere before?" He could have sworn he did.

Derf couldn't help but sigh. HE wanted to go to Hogwarts NOW and having to wait an entire year longer was way too long. But at the same time...he was scared to go to Hogwarts...because of an ancient artifact that he would wear on his head. "I'm aiming for a phoenix quill," he chirped to distract himself.
"Oh," he said, face a bit crestfallen at this.
For all her looking and admiring, the fwooper and its master finally did disappear; down the cobbled streets and through some wall that was a proper wall before they'd approached. She stared after it longingly but make no mistake, she was hearing every word that came from her friend's mouth.
How could she forget Mr. Aron was in charge down in the Ministry?? "You think he would?? I'd love that! I could maybe get Daddy to get one on our next visit, 'cause he's at the bank right now and you need to go tell your Dad but just think how amazing it'll be! You can come over all the time and we can look at it and make it learn tricks! Ooooh, this is soooooo exciting!" Almost as exciting as when she would be getting her wand!
Her cheeks reddened at his compliment and another gaze was spared toward him. "You think so? I've been reading everything I can get my hands on. I just hope it'll be enough for when the real magic comes around."
When it was clear the bird would not be making a grand reappearance, the little girl finally flopped back into her seat. Just as taken by the idea of a phoenix feathered qu--
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" The shrillest shriek in life. Jessa hopped up from the table immediately, forsaking her bowl of ice-cream and her friend where he sat. Any disappointment at not being able to see Lexa went right over her head as the 11 year old tried to put sizable distance between her and the newt. "Derf get it awaaaay!"

He wondered what this dude's last name was. "What's your last name?" In case he knew him but never got the chance to talk to him. Since he finished his first year he asked, "What is your out take on hogwarts so far?"

A person was coming towards her.
That had taken a lot less time than Esme had thought it would and she was not complaining even though she had no idea who this boy was. Clearly he was young - probably 11 or so. Nothing wrong with that since she was totally fine with making friends of any age. "Sure thing! I'm Esme." If they were going to be sitting together it made sense to offer an introduction. Talking to a stranger wasn't as nice and names were important.

Derf nodded confidently at Jessa. He had no doubt that dad would be able to do that. After all, Jessa was one of his best friends AND Miss Alexa practically part of the family...so really...it was doing the family a favor and dad was always talking about how important family was. SO, by that logic he was practically obligated - and that was his BIG and IMPORTANT word of the day. "Pos-s-sitive!" he bounced. "I'll bring my magical birds-s-s book wif me too."
He simply nodded his head again. "Duh. Or I wouldn't of s-s-said it!" Because why would you say things if you didn't mean them or believe them?

Harvey walked into the ice cream parlour and his mouth dropped open. So much ice cream! so much choice!
He walked closer and closer to see all the flavours on the menu, blind to the world around him. If he had been paying any attention, he would realise the place was full of people he would soon be joining at school, and perhaps he would be a bit more concerned with the impression he'd be making. Ice cream, however, took priority.
And as a result, he crashed right into two boys who stood close by. They'd been shaking hands. And one of the boys was way bigger than him.
Oops. Fantastic first impression.
"I'm really sorry," Harvey said when he caught his balance, holding up his arms and wondering if he could manage to back away and make it look dignified at all. Then he realised that whatever dignity he might have had was lost at this point anyway.
But he wasn't going to be a chicken either.
"I was just distracted, I haven't been here before, my sisters didn't want their kid brother hanging around when they were meeting friends before school started so they wouldn't take me-"
Harvey shut his mouth, realising he was speaking too fast and too much. He exchanged being a chicken for a babbler. Great.

Claudette had for once gotten a rare afternoon off from work. Working as an immigration officer for the ministry of magic meant that you sometimes could be called out to cases at odd hours. Which was what happened on this particular day. Claudy had been up since 3am to interrogate and investigate a complicated family case outside Salisbury.
Feeling pretty drained after reporting to her nearest boss she had taken the offer of leaving early without needing to be told twice. Glad for a free afternoon Claudy had browsed around in the Diagon Alley shops without haste before she in the late afternoon had headed over to Floreans to wait for Luc since he had wanted to meet there.
With an ice-cream cup in one hand full of chocolate and a gossip magazine tugged under the other arm the blond 20 something year old found herself an empty table in the parlour courtyard and sat down.

It was safe to assume without asking that he had checked that the courtyard was danger free before he came to her, a hazard of his occupation that she took with stride. Putting away her magazine she grinned lovingly up at Luc as he leaned down at peck-kiss her on the lips. "Hi Luc," she murmured as he sat down close to her, and rested a hand on her shoulder.
Reaching up to interlock her fingers with his Claudy said "I'm all right. Just a little tired. Everything has gone on non-stop since before dawn with a complicated case so I'm glad for an afternoon and night off with you."
"How has your day been?" she asked before taking another bite of chocolate ice cream.

They were communicating their feelings out loud they weren't just feeling them. It made Claude happy as she nibbled on the last bits of her sweet treat. She had just laid her spoon down as Luc gently took hold of both her hands. Her pulse quickened slightly as he started talking voicing what she had just thought. She didn't want just the next 6 years with him she wanted forever. Her minds was racing in pace with her heart as Luc adorable and lovely Luc with his rapid blinking and red face asked the words that was the sweetest music a girlfriend could hear.
Peering into his eyes Claude licked her lips as she responded her throat suddenly dry as she squeaked with surprise and love. "Yes, yes I want to marry you Luc! I want to spend every day of the rest of my life with you. You're the one for me and always will be. I love you so much." Could he kiss her now?

Luc didn't recall there being instructions on how to handle a rejected proposal. Could they just like forget it happened and return to the beautiful relationship it already is but wait another time. When would be another good time?

And he could always ask Wade and Uncle Charely for help on this. Yes. But oh dear he didn't even hear her answer and the many thoughts that Auror training and studying Charm books in his schooling years didn't prep for this. Wait.. was that a yes?

Luc wonderful and precious Luc had said he LOVED her and had proposed to her. Asking if she wanted to be his wife and soul mate for the rest of their lives. It was like Claudy's heart had sung when she had responded with that one simple word that held so much meaning and love. One word that said everything. YES.YES. YES.
The kiss and hug that followed the words were just right and nice and perfect in their simplicity. Feeling wet drops fall down her cheeks Claudy mumbled to luc "Is it raining or am i crying out of happiness and don't know it?" In her happy state it was possible that she had missed the weather change just like her tears. With her slender hands still in Luc's she looked up into his eyes. "I love you so much Luc. We have to tell our families the lovely news. Do you think they'll be happy for us?" She saw no reason why they shouldn't be unless of course they thought they were too young to be wed. No, they had to give their blessings. They just had to. Claudy loved Luc and that wasn't going to change, ever.

He made sure to never take their joking around and pranks on each other too far so as to never make her feel bad. Racing her- though unfairly- wouldn't hurt. The guy weaved around the many chairs looking for an orange one. It was his favourite colour, you know.

Simon Holden hadn't seen Emmylou in ages. He was excited to see her in person and catch up on everything that had been happening in her life. He hoped that she was doing well. She had always been such a friendly and sweet individual and especially welcoming to him. She was one of the first people that he had met at Hogwarts during his first year. And he really did wish the best for her as she had always been so kind to him.
Thus for such a sweet girl- young woman- he thought that meeting at Florean's was the perfect venue. As he waited for her, he pulled out his cellphone and quickly sent a couple of emails to his coworkers.

It was soooooo unfair for Adi to randomly call a race when he was already ahead of her. Lux shook her head and giggled at her best friend as she watched him take off, increasing the lead that he already had on her. "That is not cool!" No matter, because she was amused and not in the least bit annoyed.
Even though she knew that she probably wouldn't win, the redhead could NEVER back down from a competition and so she began to run after him. Reaching the table a few moments after him, she took a seat across from him. "Typical of you to hunt down the ORANGE chair." Hehe. Lux would have done the exact same thing in his place, except it would be in looking for a BLUE one. Blue had been her favourite colour for as long as she could remember, and it would continue to be for the rest of her life.
