If sitting inside just isn't your thing, Floreans offers you an alternative option to wandering the streets of Diagon with your tasty confection. Outside of the shop doors, in a small, well-kept courtyard out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the rest of Diagon Alley, there can be found small, colourful tables with a handful of equally colourful chairs scattered about. While our ice cream is charmed to be slow-melting, our customers, we assume, are not, and thus each table is equipped with an umbrella that can be opened or closed at your discretion. These tables, like the ones inside, can be pushed together or pulled apart to accommodate any size party, but please do take care to think of others who might be sitting around you!
A napkin dispenser can be found at every table, along with a small wooden stand bearing spare plastic spoons and a bunch of small, prepackaged wet-wipes to help clean up those sticky hands.
And please don't try to remove any of the tables or chairs from the courtyard. The seating, while not fixed down, is charmed to be unable to leave the small space. So don't get any ideas! Just sit back, relax, and enjoy your ice cream.

She loved making ice cream...and food in general. But there was just something about all the different sweet scents, especially the vanilla, that just made her day.
She wanted to continue the conversation....but what to ask..., "Are you here shopping with your children? I don't think I have seen you here before." That would be a good conversation starter.....right? It was plausible. She would know a regular from someone she hadn't seen before, and in the 2 years that she had owned Florean's...Kalen had never been in. Unless of course it was on a day she happened to not be working and Everett was running the shop.
Kalen tilted his head a bit as she flashed those blue eyes at him, they were certainly brilliant and very beautiful and for a half of a moment he let himself admire them, before blinking a bit. He had just met this woman and now he was admiring her eyes? What was wrong with him?
"Well this is indeed a good batch, and cheers for having my favorite flavor. Butter Pecan is hard to find lately. " He said with a smile, as he pushed his bangs out of his eyes.
Ahhh.. Kalen shook his head as she spoke, "No, I'm here with my niece and nephew, they ran off giggling somewhere and abandoned me, so here I am. " He said with a rueful smile, he sounded like he had just described two eight year olds instead of a nineteen and a sixteen year old. "Ans yeah, I haven't been out much, though that'll be different now. " Yes it was a little Cryptic, but Kalen was ready to start living his life.

Isley smiled. She always loved hearing how much people liked her Ice Cream. It made her feel like she was doing something right. It validated her career choice in so many ways. "Well, it is a staple here. So anytime you come in, you will always be able to have some." She grinned, looking down to nervously play with her apron string.
Ah...niece and nephew. So they hadn't had children. In some ways that was probably a blessing, she was sure. She smiled, "Ah, I see. I have a niece that is two, but I've never met her. I'm muggle born and my parents and sister don't...approve. My baby brother however is very supportive." She grinned at the thought of Ryan. He would be coming to visit soon.
"Well, that's good. It's always good to get out and see the world. If I could travel to every country in the world I would. I have gone to every country in Europe though. Culinary tour for two years. It was fantastic." She smiled, and suddenly realized her foot seemed to be free of it's previous trap, pulled her feet from out of the chair, and stood. "Mind if I join you?" She hoped he wouldn't mind. It would be easier to talk this way...if he wanted her to of course.

Aside from Sugarplum's, it was definitely Florean Fortescue's where Vivian would find herself in looking for food. Indeed, this Slytherin was all about satisfying her sweet tooth. Besides, she definitely missed getting some here with her Auntie Elise. Too bad she was starting to get busy now that Quidditch season was drawing close with all the practices and exercise routines she had to accommodate. So here was Vivian, at the ice cream parlour on a date with herself.
The blonde slipped into a seat outside and contemplated on the most important question at the moment: what flavoured dessert should she get this time? Hmm, it was a crucial decision she had to make. Choosing the wrong one would change everything. Should she go with her usual chocolate frog or strawberry one? Or maybe put her Gryffindor on and try something new and daring?
Decisions, decisions.

When there was a Diagon Alley visit, there was ice cream involved. Always. And there was nothing better than a hot summer day, in Florean's, with her bestest friends. While she probably SHOULD have been more closely watching her diet, considering she was playing for the Under 17 this summer, her three inch growth spurt since the end of term feast had done wonders for her appetite.
Glancing around the seating area, it took the brunette a minute or two to see if any of her friends had arrived and there was Vivian. Whom had NOT gotten her ice cream yet, but seemed ... indecisive?
"Just get one of each," Skylar teased, sliding onto the chair opposite her favorite female Slytherin. "How are you? You look ... perplexed."

It had been a busy day. She'd been shopping for school supplies with her mother. Gone to buy some new art supplies. And then spent some time with her sister buying some clothes for her new nieces. So she was tired now. And the only thing to do when she was tired was to go and have ice cream!
So she was wondering down to Floreans, thinking about what she wanted to have. She liked ice cream, but she wasn't the best at making decisions. But she wanted to have something yummy.
She got a bit distracted though, spotting some of her friends. The blonde beamed, and headed over to where her two friends were. "Hi!"

Felicity was spending way too much time at Florean Fortescue's.
So much so, that her parents were thankful that their jobs had taken off so well on this side of the pond, and that she was a fourteen year old girl with a hell of an appetite and absolutely no body image issues. Merlin was prayed to that she stayed that way. Of course, in Felicity's eyes, she was just normal, and ate a normal amount of ice cream. Usually, while she waited for Dad #2's meetings of the day to be over: at first, she'd thought helping him to plan weddings and birthdays and graduation parties and the like would be fun. But it was not.
Not in the slightest. Today she was absolutely over the moon when she spotted three familiar faces around a table, when she emerged from the shop with her cone. With a massive grin, she hurried over to them, and slipped into a seat. "Hey, gals."

With her mint chocolate-chip ice-cream in hand, wanting to try something new this time, Etta walked out of the shop with the biggest smile on her face. She found a table somewhere near the corner and sat down, taking a spoonful of her ice-cream. Hmmm.. she closed her eyes and savoured the frozen dessert for a long moment. Oh, this was so good. She obviously needed to try new flavours more often.
The girl sat back against her seat, enjoying the summer warmth on her skin. It was such a great time of the year, wasn't it? Summer, sunshine, family, beaches.. plus, the internship was going great too. AND most importantly, she'd been made Prefect again for the upcoming school year. Exciting, yeah? Nothing to complain about, really. She took another spoon of her ice-cream, glancing towards the busy street.

Summer. Hated it.
As if being home without any sense of privacy wasn't enough, all the sunlight and necessity to put sunscreen on so his sensitive nose would not turn into a crispy critter was enough to put Jaecar in an even more foul mood than usual. He had attempted to lock himself up in his room to repaint the ceiling, but apparently his behavior during the term had warranted him some sort of punishment. Whatever. He could take his paints and go elsewhere.
Like Diagon Alley. Plenty of walls that needed his brushes.
It was his search for somewhere secluded - maybe Knockturn? - that brought him by here. He had no want for ice cream as it was too sweet for his tongue, thus he bypassed any ordering of that when he spotted her. Was she still pleased with herself for what had happened at Hogwarts? He was pleased despite the humiliation that had come after. It was amusing how mad Etta could get and he had decided that provoking Hufflepuffs may become a new pastime of his.
"Don't most girls avoiding ice cream during the summer?" he asked nonchalantly as he passed by, twirling a brush between his figures. Girls that were not Jessa Cambridge anyway. And apparently Etta.

Cameron wasn't entirely sure what Xavvie had meant when she'd said she was bringing her DAD but he hadn't really questioned it either. He was probably just bringing her here to Diagon Alley. Probably had errands to run too. It didn't really matter to him. All that mattered was getting ice cream.
Oh. And seeing Xavvie of course.
So here he was, waiting by the tables, looking around to see if there was anybody else he recognized or anything else that looked interesting. So far neither search was very successful, however.
She was here,
Finally. Mr oaks had just dropped her off through the leaky cauldrons enterance.
Emily looked around.
She was terrified, Alone, and the news that she was a witch and that she would be soon off to a special school for freaks just like her was only making it worse.
She reached into her pocket and took out her letter glancing down at the list of school surpplies. 1 Wand
1 Cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
1 set of glass or crystal phials
1 telescope
1 set of brass scales
Students may also bring an Owl, a Cat or a Toad.
Her heart started to race. "How am I going to pay for all of this!" Tears started to slide down her cheeky hitting the parchment blotting the ink.
"Great" She grunted trying to make out the words she had now turned into massive blobs.

For the first time in her life, Xavvie realized that she had made a mistake by telling her father the truth. It wasn't that she didn't love her dad, because she did, a lot, however... she had noticed that the older she got the more protective her dad seemed to become. Therefore, meeting a boy, even a boy who was only a friend (though kissing had crossed her mind) meant dad was coming with.
Xavvie spotted Cam waiting and waved at him. As she tugged her dad over to where her friend was seated, she sort of realized that maybe it was a good thing to get this out of the way now. She definitely had her fingers crossed that Evander Bole would not scare away the boy.

"I'm partial to the lighter flavors during the summertime," Junia offered as she appeared with her choice of strawberry jam and grinned at the ladies seated. She'd be joining them, did they know? They had some catching up to do now that everyone was free from the castle and the brunette hoped she'd be hearing about adventures had or being planned. Her own summer had been nice so far, though she was looking forward to more time spent with Samuel, and on the Quidditch pitch.
"So, what's everyone been up to?" Eyebrows were raised and then she settled back and took a bite of her ice cream. Perfectly pink and delicious, it was.

Ah so his were a little older. That was interesting. He must have older siblings. Isley nodded listening to him, "That's great. Teenagers are fun." She said with a knowing grin. "Yeah...It can be difficult, but she doesn't even know who I am...I have only seen pictures of her that my brother has brought to me." She paused with a sad smile, "But it's okay. I have accepted the fact that my parents and sister will never approve of me. I have never even met my sister's husband. But...I forgive them. It's all I can do." She looked down for a moment, pushing a strand of hair out of her eyes.
Isley sat down across from him as he spoke about his travels. "Oh, you must get off this bloody Island." She said excitedly, patting her hand on his arm in excitement. "You absolutely have to see France and Italy. They have....the most intricately beautiful foods I have ever laid eyes on." There were so many other places she could think of that she knew everyone on the planet would love but those two were tops for her. Isley grinned when he introduced himself. "Oh, I know who you are." She smirked, without giving him any inkling on who she was.

You know what Ice Cream and Zoryn Amari Spinnet both have in common? Zor thinks BOTH are AWESOME as HECK.
Which is definitely why she had to make a stop here. And as per usual, she made sure her mother was across the street looking at some other shops so that Zor could feel like a real adult. It wasn't fair. How come other kids could come to Diagon Alley without their mothers, but hers always had to be there?????? Not. Fair.
But hey, she wasn't complaining. She was eating her ice cream and being a VERY happy camper. Though, it'd help if her friends were here. Man, summer was the WORST. She missed Hogwarts SOOOoooooOOoooOOOOooo much. Especially Théo and Derf and Faith and Soraya and ALL her other friends.

Damn right Evander Bole was coming with. It was either that or make Xavvie stay in her bedroom and boarding the door up, which his amazing wife had suggested was maybe a little bit too much.
He supposed that was true.

Oh look, just the person she wanted to see.
... HEH. Of course NOT.
Etta swallowed a mouthful of ice-cream, unable to believe that she had to see /HIM/ of all people on such a beautiful day. A frown replaced the smile on her face almost immediately, feeling rather annoyed. Maybe, just maybe, if she only ignored him, he'd go away. Or maybe he hadn't noticed her.
... But, NO. He was asking her a question now. Just her bad luck, yeah? She shouldn't allow someone to get her so bothered.. when it only made him behave even more badly but she couldn't help it. He was.. something. "I'm not most girls." She finally said, not looking at him. Yeah, no. She planned on avoiding a confrontation, if she could help it.

Just an FYI: Cameron was quite glad Xavvie wasn't locked up in her bedroom. Not that anyone would ask for HIS opinion on the matter of course.
ANYWAY, here they were!
Smiling, he waved back at his friend before looking over at her father. Who was......he looked a little mean? Had he done something wrong? Or was that just his normal face? Either way, Cam sent a polite smile the man's way,
as well, while getting up to greet them. "Hello." Once they were close enough he offered her father his hand to shake. Manners, he had them.

Kitty was just leaving the ice cream parlor and was about to head back home when she saw a little girl walk by. The girl looked incredibly distressed. She looked like she was crying.
"Excuse me," she said to the young girl, moving to approach her gently. Was she lost? That would explain the crying, for sure. "Are you all right?" Glancing down at her list, she made out some of the items written down. "I know where you can all these things. They're for Hogwarts, right?"
As head girl, it was her responsibility to help other students. But she was a caring person and would have offered help even if she wasn't head girl.

Emily took a deep breath and composed herself.
She was about to head down the high street when a girl approached her.
Emily froze, Eye wide, she looked like she'd just seen a ghost.
The girl explained that she knew where to get all the things on her list.
did she really want to help? or did she have another plan in mind.

Emily stood rooted to the stop. starring.
Oh, she was staring. Kitty wondered if she was accidentally scaring her with her Gothic makeup. That could be scary to some, she supposed.
"It's okay, I'm a Hogwarts prefect," she told her in as reassuring a voice as she could muster. "That means we're responsible for helping other students at school. I can see from your list you're going to Hogwarts. Here, see my badge?" And she took her old Prefect badge from her purse and showed it to her. She was actually head girl, but she didn't want anyone to know until the feast. Not that it was likely this first year was going to tell anyone.

You look ... perplexed."

"Hi!"

Vivian was still very much debating on what she should buy when her train of thought and decision was interrupted by definitely not an unfamiliar voice. The Slytherin beamed as Sky came to join her. It wasn't like she didn't expect her dormie to be here. "I... uhm... I dunno what flavour I wanna get." That was the simplest way to put her thoughts into words. "What did you get?" Or perhaps Sky had a suggestion.
And then they were both joined by Hattie! Vivian had known her through Sky, so her presence wasn't unwelcomed at all. "Hey, Hattie! Come and sit!" Vivian greeted her with finger wiggles. Had she not chosen her ice cream flavour, too? That made both of them, then!
Then Liss arrived! Seemed very much like a tiny fifth year squad reunion. After all, fifth year was indeed a huge step in any witch's life. OWLs were drawing near and they just needed to perhaps celebrate for reaching that far, yeah? "Liss, hiiii!" Honestly, the number of people on this table was making Vivian excited. She loved having her friends around, did they know?
Oh, Junia! The other Slytherin got finger wiggles as she came to join as well. But she definitely had chosen her ice cream flavour, and Vivian was sure that was strawberry, one of this blonde's usuals. Now, she was definitely considering the lighter flavours, as what Junia said. "Suggestion has been considered," the Slytherin said with a beam. But she still didn't have any final decision yet. One she would have to make... later. This blonde was very much open to recommendations at the moment! She wasn't always this indecisive.
Summer? Yes, indeed! Vivian wanted to learn about their summers so far. The summer before OWLs year was crucial, too, like it was the year for them. Perhaps now it wasn't bothering Vivian, but give it a few more months and she'd be doing cartwheels in their dorm room out of anxiety. "I watched Quidditch matches!" Thanks to having a professional Quidditch player for an aunt, and one of her dorm mates as a U-17 beater. Loads of fun to watch! "And getting some piano lessons from my auntie." Those were mostly the highlights of her summer, plus meeting up with Andrei... but she was going to purposely leave that detail out unless someone asked. "How about you, guuuys?" For sure they had awesome stories to tell!

Also hi Xavvie!
Xavvie was also glad that her father hadn't locked her away all summer long, that definitely wouldn't be a very fun time. Besides, she knew how to pick locks... "Dad, this is Cam." Of course, she was polite too, "Cam, this is my dad." Now dad, be nice and don't scare off her friend for his unfortunate gender. Please.
She grinned at Cam, happy to see that he was offering a handshake. Evander Bole appreciated manners, she knew that, so maybe this would break the ice a little bit.
Luc beamed across to Claudette.. His Claudy as he affectionately named her. His hand reached over to hers to hold, "I feel the same.. I'm super excited about her." Yes, it was official that they were having a baby girl sometime in August. It was so close. "I know we agreed to wait until the special day before naming her.. Did you still feel that way or do you secretly have some names picked out?" He might have one or two. Keyword might.
Lifting up some ice-cream onto a spoon Claudette put it into her mouth and beamed after swallowing it down. "FF's ice cream is still the best." She had been asking Luc for lots of odd foods and at odd hours too lately and he had always gotten some for her even when he was dead tired after Auror work. It just showed how much he loved her and their baby. But she did feel bad for asking most of the time even if Luc protested that he didn't mind.
Letting her hand drop to her baby bump as the girl kicked around Claudey tugged Luc's hand that was holding onto her left to let him feel too. "She is active today. Imagine when we take her here in years time to buy school supplies for Hogwarts." That'd be another magical moment she'd never forget. Taking another bite of ice cream Claudey blushed "I've actually secretly thought of some names even though we agreed to wait...What do you think about Isabella or Lia?"
