You will find at the end of the corridor on the first floor is a door that will reveal the Stone Bridge when opened. While it may seem like an odd place for a bridge, do note that it provides easy access to the next tower nearby and makes moving around the castle significantly easier. One will need to use this structure to get to Defence Against the Dark Arts, unless, of course, you are departing from there and need to get to the moving staircases.
It is not uncommon for this bridge to be a meeting place for students because of its prime location in between towers. It also provides a nice view of the viaduct and part of the lake down below. During the fall and spring seasons, this small bridge is a pleasant place to pause for a bit of fresh air before heading back indoors to fill your brain with more information. Though it is is a different matter entirely when it is winter, which is why you will be advised to wear your thicker robes and a scarf when trekking across this bridge in spite of the torches that are lit along the way.
For Mitsuki Rasting & Kath! Let's do this!! Let's finish an RP together!

It had been a long day of classes already at the start of term. Wanting to get what little sunlight would be left of the day Yumeki spent it on the Grounds finding a few nice trees he could rest under or read some of the books that his Great-Grandmother sent with him to study up on astrology. He even waded ankle deep in the lake for a bit.
So with his pants still rolled up a bit and his shoes back on his feet the 16-year-old stopped on the Wooden Bridge. The sun hadn't set just yet and he thought it would be nice to watch it go down. So he sat up on the side of the bridge and looked out for a while...and then a little while longer.
He got bored. And his eyes slowly shut as he start to fall asleep. So he turned around his head bobbing up and down from the drowsiness he was feeing. Maybe he could sleep right here up on the side of the bridge like this. What harm would that be? Yumeki had excellent balance...

What a perfect day!
The thought repeated in Jude’s mind like a mantra. With an elbow propping his chin up, he stared out into the distance. He wasn’t lost in thought or having a moment or anything of the sort. No, Jude was just using this time to just be. Sometimes this went a long way in keeping one’s sanity intact. The light breeze that blew by ruffled the fringes resting on his forehead. As much as Jude didn’t want to think about anything in particular, it was a difficult thing for him to just switch his brain off in that aspect. So, he found himself delving into a mental checklist about all the things that needed to be prioritised - like that DADA essay and Muggle Studies homework. Also, he needed to get more of his dance practice in. With Reagan having graduated last term, he’d lost his regular dance partner. Maybe Keighley would want to help out.
Then, just like that, he was daydreaming about life at WADA.

Upon spending a fruitless afternoon of grindylow fishing around the boathouse with a tin of sardines she had brought with her from home, Mitsuki made her way back towards the castle by taking a more scenic route since that was the way the wind blew her. It was probably for the best since she had, in fact, caught something during her fishing attempts...just not a grindylow. Her line tangled up around a rock and some of the aquatic plants in the lake, Mitsuki had tugged herself right off and into the water which still dripped freely from her soaked robes and sloshed around in her shoes. At least a majority of the mud had shaken itself off during her journey, though some clumps remained in her hair and smeared across her cheek.
It was during her trudge that she happened upon Yumeki-senpai and she briefly lamented that she did not have her art supplies with her in order to capture this particular sleeping figure. It was a new position to find himself in and the way the sunlight framed him was quite the aesthetic. Perhaps she could remember and paint it from memory later once she had cleaned up.
There was concern that he might nod a bit too much to one side and fall, though she would prefer he do so forward rather than backwards. She could possibly fix a broken nose but the alternative was much less promising. There was also the dilemma that she never had disturbed him during his moments of transcending the waking world and into the next realm...and it still felt uncomfortable doing so now. She would just stand nice and close this time, hover in a more pronounced manner rather than at a distance.
The water dripping from her hair and limps on to his trousers may have to do them both a favor given the circumstances.

He bobbed and swayed in place as he caught some shut eye on the Bridge. The slight chill to the evening wind kept it so that he couldn't out right fall asleep with where he was located, but he has had LOTS of practice at tuning out his surroundings to focus on himself thanks to all the meditations he had to sit through in training. It was Sleep without really sleeping he told himself, and yes he knew there was more to it than just that. Each time his body shifted he made sure it would do so in a way that only leaned him forward. Anyone witnessing this feat could only assume that Yumeki Kawatani was some kind of sleeping daredevil. Who in their right mind would seek thrills in their slumber?
He decided that he had his share of a good eye-resting by now. Again to reiterate he knew his position was a very dangerous one so a long nap would make this terrible decision even worse. He blinked his eyes open and spotted a figure who was barely visible from the last bit of sunlight that was peaking from behind the Scottish Mountains in the distance. "Ohayo, Mitsuki-chan."He spoke up almost instinctually. He let out a post-nap yawn and scratched his side and lowered himself from the ledge to now sitting with his back against the stone railing.
he tilted his head as he looked at her a bit more as his eyes adjusted. "W-what happened to you? ...It looks like you spent the day in the Swamp Corridor.."

The hovering and dripping worked and while it was not precisely relief she felt as he greeted her, there was a certain similar sentiment woven in amongst the other sensations.
"Ohayo," she replied with a small polite bow from the waist. Gryffindors were stereotyped as being reckless thrill seekers, but Mitsuki hardly believed in such things. Only the closed minded would presume that people under the lion crest were heedless bouncy balls. In fact, she had evidence that such sorts existed in Hufflepuff. Not to mention the stereotype that Slytherins equated evil. Eiji was not evil. Though if he were it would be amusing that his heart was so enraptured with an auror. It was the content of poorly written romance novels, not that she had any experience in reading such things. She simply overheard others speaking to them in the common room from time to time. All this to say that she did not see Yumeki as the sort to seek thrills by endangering himself physically on purpose. Surely it was in dreams that he experienced such wonders - why else would he adore sleep so much? Other than the physical exhaustion that came from his kendo training. That she also could not ignore as a possibility.
"I was pulled into the lake," she explained as she looked down at herself. "I was fishing for grindylows," she elaborated while giving her skirt a twist here and there along the hem to rid herself of a little more water.

Most of Yumeki's dreams put in in place of or beside some of his favorite manga heroes. In one dream he would stand in place on a dying planet. Pure of heart, but intimidating in appearance. His hair standing up and shining gold with a similarly colored aura emanating around him. In another dream he was entirely bald and wear yellow onesie pajamas. His strength and his punches far beyond the reach of any normal person. Destroying villains in a single punch. Just the other day he dreamt that he was a teenage detective prodigy who had been turned back into a child. All of them fun and definitely worth the chance to sleep if that meant he could have more of those dreams. Beneath his tired exterior was a curious child excited to learn and try new things. If he could pull himself away from all the Kendo training that he pushes himself into doing daily.
"Again?!" he said surprised, ...but also not all... The worry in his voice mellowing out. It couldn't have been another Kappa. Grindylows are not nearly as dangerous as the Japanese Water Demon, but the lessons learned of them in Care of Magical Creatures did not paint them in a good light. "I was down by the lake earlier today too. If I knew you were there I could have accompanied you." Or couldn't have Branxton or Evans been with her?

Perhaps some day she would dreamwalk into one of your dreams, Yumeki-senpai. Of course this meant she would have to have the foresight to ask and then the initiative to ask permission to do so...which were also quite bold steps for the quiet and somber Ravenclaw. Perhaps the thought would come to her during the next time she sketched him while napping - she had, after all, begun to draw dream tendrils and petals alongside his sleeping figure for something a bit more whimsical.
"No. First time," she corrected him with a gentle shake of the head. She was, of course, thinking solely about the Hogwart's Lake. Her slick and soaked hair tossed slightly, which was mostly a couple of clumped together strands shifting over her shoulders and her bangs plastering themselves more to her forehead. She was also not entirely picking up the undertones of concern his words were laced with and tilted her head to the side with a small curious pursing of the lips. "Did you want to go grindylow fishing as well?" She had no idea. Should she have known this? Was there a way she could have known this?
She had many follow up questions.
"Were you training by the lake? Is that why you were too exhausted to make your way back to the castle proper?"

PANTING, Solomon had reached the stone bridge after running all the way from the greenhouses. Not solely to run from a bunch of critters that he saw there, but also because a brisk run helped clear the mind. Even in this chilly weather. He loved running, and had a quick thought about asking Anna if she’d race him sometime soon, as he had a strong feeling she’d agree.
The stone bridge seemed like the perfect resting spot, where he peered through one of the viewing points and looked down until his stomach felt a bit queezy.
Hoisting himself back up, his hat flew straight off his head and into the abyss. “NO!” He quietly shrieked.
Solomon stood for a while, sombre, and contemplating running down there to look for it. If only he were a wizard that knew summoning magic.
Let's pretend this isn't a million years late. Okay? Okay!

With every minute of studying that went by, Dafydd could swear that his brain was slowly but surely becoming mush. While this wasn't OWL year and the course load was significantly less, the stakes were still just as high. With it being his last year, the stress about NEWTs was already at the forefront of his mind and he needed top scores to get into the Pre-Healer program.
Not one to let himself get all worked up, he packed up his things and went for a little stroll, his destination being the stone bridge for the view and its access to other parts of the castle that he'd need to go to eventually. As soon as he pushed open the door and the fresh air hit his nostrils, he knew that this brain break was definitely the right choice to make.
Right away he took note that he hadn't been the only one who was due for a break from classwork. Seeing a familiar face, Dafydd did not hesitate to meander over to his friend. "Needed some fresh air too?" he asked him in Welsh.

There was literally only one person outside of his immediate family that Jude conversed with in fluent Welsh. “Hi, Dafydd!’’ Yep, they were going to keep the tradition going by chatting in their language. “Uh huh. It’s gotten to that point where I’m procrastinating when it comes to homework.” Jude propped his elbows up on the ledge of the bridge before resting his chin on his palms. “I think it might be because of the prospect of NEWTs. I’m not keen on reliving all that time we spent studying for OWLs.” End of term exams weren’t as bad as major exams. “Any chance I can bribe you into writing a few of my essays?” he joked.
This was their final hurdle at Hogwarts then they would be out in the world, doing their own things. Which reminded Jude… “You’re not allowed to cancel on our catch-up dates after we graduate,’’ he remarked with a laugh. Dafydd was one of those friends that he’d go out of his way to keep their friendship going despite the busy life that would no doubt await each of them.

It didn't take very long for Dafydd to make himself right at home. He had set his book bag on the ground and leaned against the side of the bridge, momentarily looking out at the view beyond. When Jude's words were heard, he could not help but chuckle.
"Bit early for procrastination to hit, mate. Though I totally get what you mean. NEWT year has been giving me flashbacks to OWLs. But we'll survive," he replied, his blue eyes shifting over to his friend. As for being bribed to write a few essays, he couldn't stop himself from rolling his eyes. "Only if you are willing to be at my beck and call for, like, an entire month."
Graduate. The word rang in his ears and invoked a bizarre feeling in his stomach. It was strange thinking that, in just a handful of months, their days at Hogwarts would be over. They'd be out there, tackling the real world. "Of course. Wouldn't miss them for the world," Dafydd told Jude sincerely. Then as an afterthought, he joked, "Just promise to remember me when you become a household name thanks to WADA, and I'll make sure to personally take care of you should you ever end up at Mungo's."
