Clumsy Cale is at it again!

All our planning for that huge fight in the common room was for nothing, I guess XD

The Seperate Schools

Cale was bored.

He missed girls.

While he had managed to make a load of new guy friends, and earned himself some points for Gryffindor, he was still very saddened by the terrible mess he and the rest of the school was in at the moment. We can start with the Great Hall.

Now, not only does Cale not have Pink Girl, but now he has no knives either.

Upon entering this school, if you could even call this prison a school, he noticed one horrible thing: The Slytherin's had a whole section of the great hall, and the Gryffindor's and Hufflepuff's were smashed into small sections with no knives, splintered benches, and limited elbow room.

No, take that back; ZERO elbow room.

There is also no mailing anyone outside of parents or guardians, which totally stinks for Cale since he has only ONE parent. He wanted to mail Emma! She was the only person who really got him in his family, and how was he supposed to tell his mum about his lady problems? How awkward!

Cale is so bored, he stopped straightening his hair, just to spice things up a little.

He really wanted Quidditch to start soon. He missed the girls from Gryffindor, and he wanted to see them so badly. Especially Anna. Weird as it was, he missed fighting with her.

He wondered if there was anyway he could contact his Pink Girl without breaking the rules.

He also wondered what was going on in the Slytherin Common Room over at Belle's school. Was Cora talking about him to Bella?

What about the Gryffindor Common Room? Was Anna talking about him?

And then, of course, he was trying to think of a way to cut steak without a knife.



Cale's mind is very complicated. 'Nuff said.

The Letter

For the first time in his in entire life, Cale was completely shocked.

When he got the letter from his mother, he had expected to find pages worth of her ranting, saying how unfair the Belle/Cooper schools were and her plans for breaking him out. But no, there was just a simple, "Oh, you'll survive, I'm sure it isn't that bad."

Then, of course, there was the stunning news that his mother had just gotten married!

Yes, she was no longer Beth Newell. She was now Beth Johnson.

Yes, she had spontaneously married the guy she had been dating for 2 years, just out of the blue. The woman who was too scared to let family members in her house out of the fear that germs would invade her incredibly clean home had gone and eloped.

Well, thanks for the invite, Mum!

He couldn't believe this. Parents were so unbelievably selfish. And she hadn't even provided an explanation for her erratic behavior. How rude!

Don't tell anyone, but Cale may have shed a tear or two when he realized that he hadn't been invited to his own mother's wedding. In fact, he almost lost it when he was talking to Little Miss Prefect.

Add this to all of his girl problems, and you've got yourself one distressed boy.

If only wizards had psychiatrists. Cale could really use one right about now.

The Two Girls

Cale Newell was depressed.

It wasn't because of the whole thing with his mum. No, he had gotten over that. He figured that all parents were allowed to be a little crazy, and besides, he wouldn't have been allowed to leave Coopers anyways. Besides, he had always kind of liked Aaron Johnson (he refused to call him Dad) so it wasn't like the whole situation was horrible.

No, he was depressed because his heart had been torn into pieces.

First of all, he loved Pink Girl. There was something about her pink hair, her charming smile, the way she was almost as clumsy as him, that enchanted him. They had some really nice conversations, and when he hugged her it just felt right. She was special.

But, at the same time, he loved someone else too. This girl, however, was totally different from Pink Girl. She drove him nuts a lot of times, but lately they had been getting along a lot better. And she told him she liked someone. And he had a very very very small feeling that it just might be him.

And he kind of hoped it was.

But the worst part was, he knew the second girl was his soul mate. He could just feel it. He got this nervous feeling deep down in his stomach whenever he saw her, a feeling that he wished and prayed he would feel about Pink Girl.

He loved Pink Girl.

He loved Little Miss Prefect.

He somewhat hated both of them for doing this to him.

He hated himself, because he knew he had to hurt someone, and he knew who it was.

He didn't want to hurt her. He knew she had been hurt before, and the fact that he was going to hurt her again was just horrible. It made him sick.

This whole situation made him sick.

He loved Pink Girl.

He loved Little Miss Prefect.

He needed jelly slugs like RIGHT NOW!

Poor Cale. Did Bella help him any?

Wow, Cale is just so destroyed right now. If only Anna KNEW all this. She's kind of completely oblivious to it all. She knows he got upset with something that happened with Cora, but she doesn't want to pry and thinks if he didn't tell Anna directly what happened, then maybe he doesn't want her to know.

She enjoyed spending all weekend in Hogsmeade with him, though!!!! Oh, and she enjoyed telling him she has a little crush on someone.

The Step Sister

Ok, Cale is not so happy about his mother's new marriage.

Not that he doesn't like his new step dad. He's cool. No, it's his daughter that is the devil personified.

Cale had completely forgotten about Ezra Greenboat until he had a dream about her. She was kicking him out of his house, and burning all of his drawings! He woke up (with a teensy little scream, I might add) and realized that since her actual mum lived in some place called Florida in America, she would be coming to live with him.

Suddenly Cooper's didn't seem so bad after all.

Before you say Cale is just being a drama queen again, let's describe Ezra: She is 13 year old, is a spoiled brat who only cares about her hair and her makeup and how tiny her waist is, and every time she ever came over to his house, she loveeeeedddddd teasing him. And slapping herself in the arm, and then yelling "Dad! Cale hit me!"

And for some reason, his mum fell for it every time.

No, there was simply no way he could live with that little devil-child for the rest of his life. He had already done a very nice job of avoiding her at Hogwarts--granted it was a lot easier now that there were two schools--but now that they were related by marriage, he'd have to see her during the holidays. And over the summer. Oh my god, she would always be there in the summer when he woke up, with her loud squeaky laugh and her dozens of boyfriends.

He bet she would try to take his room. Yes, that would be so EZRA of her.

He took a quick glance at the calendar hanging next to his bed. They had about two months till winter vacation, aka until he met his doom.

Hmmm, Cooper's vs. Home. There simply was no winner there.

The Decision

Cale was depressed. Again.

This time it was because he was no longer confused. This time, he knew who he had to choose. The choice was completely clear.

He missed her all the time. More than Pink Girl, he was sad to say. He found himself thinking about her every minute of every day. He got sweaty whenever she was near--no matter how gross that was he had to admit it. He was constantly trying to impress her. He wanted her to think he was cool. He had never tried this hard to impress anyone in his life.

And of course, stupid embarrassing things kept happening whenever he tried to do that. Like, his hand getting tangled in his curls when he tried to run a hand through his hair. To look all cool and attractive. He just ended up looking clumsy and stupid, as usual.

She was complicated. Half of the things he loved about her, he hated. Like her bossiness. Cale did not deal well with bossiness. He had to deal with it from his mum, fellow Gryffindor's and now his charming step sister Ezra, and he didn't like dealing with it from Little Miss Prefect either. But at the same time, he liked that she stood up to him. It showed that she was tough.

He could do without the punching though. But at the same time, that was cute too. Cute and painful. The worst combination.

Anyways, despite the fact that he was NOT looking forward to breaking one girl's heart, he was also a teensy bit excited. Because he had had a revealation.

It happened in the common room, when some guy had asked him about Little Miss Prefect. He eventually started talking about how she had told him she liked one guy who only looked at her as a friend, and eventually it dawned on him. Eventually. It had taken him a while. Poor Shel and Jason had been about to slug him if he hadn't finally caught on.

Little Miss Prefect liked him.

After he had realized it, he actually kind of judged himself for not figuring it out sooner. Hello, she had named her flipping HORSE after him in class! Plus, there were all those little things, like accidently saying "kissing" instead of "kidding" one time. Kissing her palm and then placing it on his shoulder to make him feel better. All of it added up.

Oh, and then, of course, he was pretty certain she had written his name on school property.

Someone wrote "I <3 Cale" on the bulletin board in the broomshed. And Professor Vindictus found it. And totally called him out on it. It was obviously talking about him, since someone had written it in gold and red ink. He had hoped for a tiny second they were talking about the other Cale, the Ravenclaw prefect.

He wanted to crawl into a ball and die. Once the Professor had pointed that out, his face turned into a tomato. Shel would NEVER let him live this down.

Anyways, he was quite sure it was her. Unless he had some other fangirl he didn't know about.

Now, he was kind of nervous to see her. He didn't know how he would be able to act around her. He was certain he'd get all nervous and then do something really stupid, like trip over his own two feet and knock over a candy display in Honeydukes or something. With his luck, the display would fall into another display, and it would be like a chain reaction and he'd destroy the whole store.

Yes, Mr. Newell has quite the imagination.

I love, love, LOVE this chapter!!!! It's neat to read his inner thoughts and how he feels about everything that Anna does. It's so cute! Anna has NOOO idea about this revelation, either, but she's going to be so embarrassed when she finds out he knows her secret! That is, until she finds out he likes her, too! Then she can totally bring up that time he agreed to go back to Cooper's to talk to HIMSELF about not liking Anna.

I can't wait for Canna to meet again!

Ok, this next chapter takes place during the winter holidays, and since we obviously don't know when they actually go on winter break, we're just going to pretend it happened, mkay?

Also, I'm leaving on Friday for vacation, so I may or may not update again before then. If I do, then...YAY! If not, then see you when I get back!

The Invasion


The first night Cale spent during his holidays did not go as planned. Because, of course, Ezra had just moved in.

It had taken her a grand total of 5 hours just to bring all of her belongings into the house. He stayed in his room for a good portion of the time--he had really missed his own bed. Of course, when he walked in and looked at his desk, he found the drawings of hearts he had made the first day he met Cora, and felt his heart break all over again. So, he resorted to sulking in his room for about 2 hours, and when he got up to go to the bathroom, it had been officially invaded by Ezra.

He could no longer see the marble countertop around the sink. Every inch of free space had been covered with bottles of hair product, lipgloss, foundation, mascara, hair brushes--it was EVERYWHERE! And where had all his stuff be relocated to? The trash, of course. He managed to salvage a bottle of hair straightening product, but his toothbrush and razor would have to be replaced immediately (then again, he didn't ever really use his razor seeing as how it took him almost 2 weeks just to grow a hint of five o'clock shadow, so he didn't really fret about that one).

Dinner didn't get much better. Ezra was still putting the finishing touches on the room she now had to share with his sister, Theresa, and the little girl was NOT pleased about this. Anyways, Ezra arrived 10 minutes late to dinner, something that neither of the adults cared to address.

"So, Ez, did you get settled into your new room?" Beth Newell--well, technically, Beth Newell-Johnson, now--asked her new step daughter as she passed her potatoes.

"Well, there are some things I can't find a spot for, but I'm sure we'll be able to manage, right Theresa?" she asked, casting a friendly, yet devilish, smile at her stepsister. Ezra had apparently just discovered red lipstick, and the extra bit of color on her face really did make her look evil.

Theresa just rolled her eyes. By "some things" Ezra was obviously talking about her makeup and her gazillions of Wonder Witch products (they wouldn't all fit in the bathroom), and when she said "we'll be able to manage" that clearly meant "By the way, if you don't throw out some of those stupid books to make room for my things I'm burning them the first chance I get".

"May I be excused?" Theresa asked.

"No, sit down and eat your dinner," Beth told her daughter. Theresa just groaned and slouched down in her seat.

"Ezra do you like playing with dolls?" Ellie asked from across the table. Her little blonde head was hardly visible over the oak finishing.

Ezra blinked. "Um, no," she replied in the sweetest voice she could. "Why, do you?"

"Obviously, she's only seven," Cale answered for Ellie before stuffing a mouthful of mashed potatoes in his mouth.

"Shut up Cale, no one asked you," Ezra snapped back at him. How charming.

"Hey, can you two try and get along for at least a few minutes?" Aaron Johnson asked, glaring at his daughter and then at Cale. Seeing another guy in the house had been very startling for Cale at first, but he was slowly getting used to it. It was weird having a father figure around again. Cale still refused to call him Dad, simply referring to him as "Aaron," or sometimes just "Dude", which he didn't take very kindly to, depending on the mood he was in.

"No, I think his giant head would explode," Ezra replied, taking a sip of her water. Eww, she did that stupid pinkie-in-the-air thing. Something she must have picked up from those ridiculous teachers over at Belle's. "Because being nice to people is such an ego crusher. He wants to be seen as the big bad macho guy, remember?"

"And you want to be seen as the insufferable little Gryffindor brat, right?" Cale retorted.

"Be nice to me, or I'll go tell your little girlfriend on you," she threatened, raising her eyebrows at him in a "say that to me again and you'll be sorry!" kind of way.

"I don't have a girlfriend!" Cale snapped back. Oh noes. His face was heating up.

"Puh-LEASE! Don't think the whole school doesn't know about your little thing with the other Gryffindor Prefect," she replied, grinning at him mischeviously.

"Ohmigod, what will I do now?" he asked, grabbing his heart in mock shock, and making his voice go all high and girlish in an obvious attempt to poke fun at her own high pitched voice.

"Both of you knock it off right now!" Beth exclaimed, putting down her pumpkin juice with such force that a few of drops of the orange drink flew out and landed on her perfectly finished table.

And after another minute or two of shouting, during which Theresa thought it would be fun to get in on the fight as well, everyone got sent to their rooms.

Slamming his door, Cale stuffed his face in his pillow and let out a good yell. He was sick of everyone treating him like a baby. First the Ministry teachers, now his mum. ARG! This was totally all Ezra's fault.

Sighing, he sat up and felt the sudden urge to write a letter to Anna. Hey, they were out of Hogw--oops, sorry, Cooper's and Belle's--so he could write to her now. Ohmigosh! Why had this thought not occurred to him earlier? Talking to her always made him feel better...maybe writing to her would have the same effect.

Grabbing a quill and a piece of parchment, he eagerly got to work on his letter:

Yes, that was right. He said love. He wondered if Anna would pick up on that little hint. He was very proud of himself for being so bold.

He had to borrow his mum's owl, Phineas, to send it, and he decided to attach a little drawing of a guitar that he had done during his first few hours of solitude at the house. It was random, yes, but after all, he HAD told her about his little brush with death and the air guitar, so it was fitting.

After he sent the owl on it's way, he laid back down on his bed and turned up the radio, trying to drown out the noise of Ezra and Theresa agruing in the next room.

Looks like Cale wasn't the only one in the house who had a problem with Little Miss Greenboat.
