Her footsteps were brisk but soundless, her almond-shaped silver eyes evident in the black of her cloak and hood. Jenna White stepped into the corridor, coming to a halt in front of the second door. She raised her hand to knock and – “Come in.” With a slight smile, Jenna let her hand fall without knocking. The door opened of its own accord, and she walked in, her eyes adjusting to the sudden dimness of the room. It was a circular little thing, this room, with high walls, no ventilation and little furniture. Almost like him, she could not help thinking. He was ambitious, his power far-reaching, but he was also narrow - narrow of mindset about life, narrow of mindset about its mysteries. Lord Voldemort stood by a table, leaning against it in a lazy, negligent way, but she knew him too well to think he was not at his most alert. A man she did not know stood besides him, only his face visible underneath the black hood pushed up his head. All that black always got to her. “It’s hot,” she said, making a face and pushing back her hood. “Do these cloaks have to be so black? Can’t we wear, like, white stuff in summer?” The man next to Voldemort looked up, doubt in his eyes as he waited for the Dark Lord’s reaction. The Dark Lord had said she was his special weapon, this Jenna, the best of all his new servants, one of his most accomplished death eaters - and yet, despite his word, she barely looked it. He could see her face clearly, now that she had pushed back the hood; and it was undoubtedly fairer than any he had ever seen before. The eyes were wide - haunting. Almond-shaped; silver. No, indeed, she did not look a death eater. Voldemort’s eyes swept Jenna, his gaze expressionlessly severe. “This is the man I wanted you to meet, Jenna. Tom Redwork,” he said quietly. “Tom – Jenna White. The pride of my new recruits.” He said the last sentence with a strange sort of relish, the kind he showed at a victory long awaited, or when a dangerous enemy fell. Tom's eyes caught Jenna's, and he nodded. The pride of the Dark Lord’s new recruits? But she seemed so young, so very young. So.. innocent. So hauntingly innocent. “I’m looking forward to working with you, Miss White,” he said finally. “I look forward to working with myself, too,” Jenna grinned. “And Tom? The name’s Jenna, not Miss White.” Tom smiled, a little uncertainly. She spoke freely, much more freely than any other death eater he had seen or worked with. And that, too, in the Dark Lord’s presence. What was it that made her different? Was it the style? Or the lurking, lingering innocence? How could someone with her appearance have killed? “Is that all, Master?” he asked, tearing himself away from his thoughts. Lord Voldemort nodded, his handsome face both hidden in, and outlined by, the shadows. Seconds later, Tom Redwork was pulling his hood down his face, and fastening back his cloak. Jenna watched him leave, her mind wandering to Wormtail. There was still half an hour to go before the time she had given him ran out. |

I miss your writing in this story! :( More please?!? :) Jess |
Hello. It's me ... I'd like to start by saying ... wow, there was a lot of deaths and stuff in the first like 20 some posts of your story and that was just from your readers :gasp: so I'm very excited about reading your story ... I mean, seriously, there's THAT much action in just the comments ... wow. *is awed* But I've gotten a few free moments and now I can read your story, yay! So ... uhm, did I mention I love all the really strong female characters? Seriously, wow. I also love the whole thing with Andra belonging to this elite group of wizarding world people ... the rich always fascinate me, I wouldn't want to belong to such a sad, repressive class, but dang don't they make for the most interesting story subjects? And I loved Victoria's dress ... *sighs* So in conclusion ... Victoria Glade is my hero :loved: any woman who punctuates her statements and presses her advantage and just all around dictates merely by standing up, is A-oh-freakin'-kay in my book. Oh, and post 58 is my next post to read. Don't mind that it's just a reminder to me. But seriously, wow cool. I'm liking your story Maxie, but ... Wormtail is such a coward I don't understand why that lady *hates his short term memory* would risk her life helping his sorry wormtail? Color me puzzled dear, that's a kind of chartreuse ... no? *fires the cannons for high fashion* I hope you wrote the part where Andra and Victoria go shopping next ... *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* I love shopping ... :bouncep: I shall return. |

A diamond ring upon his finger, and a diamond pin in the topmost button-hole of his expensive coat, Lucius Malfoy was certainly a sight to see as, wending his way between tables, he finally took a seat in front of the dark-skinned beauty who was carelessly ignoring the many people stealing looks at her. “Bella,” he said, raising her hand to his lips. “Lucius,” she returned, half haughtily. The unknowing onlooker would think they were meeting for the first time, perhaps for some high-and-mighty business. Nothing could be more wrong a thought: They were friends of old, friends of old who had grown to love and cherish each other, and yet maintain a strange sort of distance. – A distance that disappeared the moment their trio, their dream team, was completed by the addition of Jenna White. “I miss Jenna’s presence tonight,” Bellatrix said, as a waiter swooped down upon them to ask what they would like to have, and Lucius filled him in – he did not need to ask Bellatrix, because he knew her too well, because he knew her moods, knew her choices and knew her likes and dislikes. “She is one of a kind, no doubt,” he said silkily, as the waiter scurried away. “It seems as if I have known her forever.” “I, for one, have known her for long,” Bellatrix said. She had known Jenna for four years, now – known Jenna since the girl had only been twelve years of age, and stumbled into Bellatrix on a holiday. Their bond had been immediate – their friendship was too strong for breakage, now. “I think she was to meet the Dark Lord, tonight.” “It is a pity the two of us can not talk to her,” Lucius remarked. “I still do not understand why the Dark Lord has told us to stay away from her. But I guess he will have had his reasons. He always does, does he not?” “Indeed.” His hand was on the table now, and the diamond ring shone in the light. A passing girl looked at him, seemingly unable to wrench her eyes away once she had done so, and Bellatrix rolled her eyes. “The fangirling is beginning, Lucius,” she said, with a slight smile. Lucius inclined his head in response. “I thank you for informing me, Bella.” |
