This is my first attempt at FF but I look forward to all of your ideas. this story takes place after Harry has defeated Voldermort and they are all in their early 20's. This is a R/Hr and H/G story. If you love (or hate) my story please let me know!

chapter One: rise and shine
It was a cold morning when Ginny was roused from bed because of a squealing coming from the fire place. She grabbed her ratty old pink robe and walked closer seeing her best friend’s face in the fire.
“Morning `Mione, why are you squealing at me at such an ungodly hour?” Ginny poked at the embers around her friends face.
“Gin! I need you to come here NOW! I have a great surprise!” The fire popped loudly as if it was feeling Hermione’s excitement as well.
“Oh fine but you owe me! I want a huge cup of that muggle coffee you keep hidden in your larder. I’ll get dressed and be there in a few minutes.” Hermione giggled and her face disappeared. Ginny just shook her head and wandered over to the wardrobe. She picked out a pair of jeans and a lovely green sweater that always made her think of her beloved’s eyes. She grabbed a quill and scribbled a note to her brother Ron that she was off to visit Hermione and he would have to make his own breakfast. Why she lived with that silly brother of hers she couldn’t understand.

Walking to the hallway where she couldn’t be heard Ginny dissapparated with a loud “POP”
Hermione was bouncing up and down in the kitchen when Ginny arrived a few seconds later.
“Where is my coffee?” Ginny grumbled. “Here you go!” Hermione passed her a steaming cup of the caffeine filled liquid. She was smiling from ear to ear.

Ginny took a long drink from the cup and sighed content with the rich flavor. “So, why are you so excited? Why did you drag my sorry behind out of bed just after dawn? This had better be good.”
Hermione quickly spun in a circle twirling her skirt around her. “Do you like my new outfit Gin?”

Ginny placed her cup gently on the table, a look of rage playing in her eyes. “ Mione, I swear to Merlin, if you woke me up to talk about clothes I will hex you!”

“Oh no silly! I have an even bigger surprise!”
Ginny looked at her expectanly, “ Well?”
“I can’t tell you! You’ll have to guess!”
“I swear Hermione, I’ll hex you!”
“No I mean it you have to guess! I am not allowed to tell you, or my mouth will be zippered shut from the spell he put on me!”
“Let me guess, my dear brother Ronald is behind this one?”
Hermione just nodded and giggled to herself.
Ginny began pacing back and forth thinking aloud, “Hmm, what would cause Ron to try and keep something from everyone , and make Hermione so excited? Maybe he got that Auror job after helping Harry defeat old Voldy? No. He’d be bragging about that.” Hermione was bouncing up and down in her chair barely able to contain herself. She had both hands firmly placed over her mouth so that she wouldn’t accidentally blurt something out.
“come on Mione, you have to give me a hint!”
“ I can’t or the zipper will appear! Wait! Do you know how to play charades?”
“ that muggle game? Not really.”
“Well I’ll make it more magical” grabbing her wand Hermione drew a picture in the air it was a heart with “RW + HG = 4ever” written inside.
“Hermione, I’ve known you two were dating for two years now!”
Hermione exhaled feeling very frustrated. Then her face lit up and she waver her wand around her own head. Her hair turned a most lovely shade of red. It compared only to the sunrise, and Ginny’s own flowing hair.

“Oh come on! It better not be about dyeing your hair!” Hermione just shook her head pointed at the picture still hovering between the two young women and then to her hair.
“Wait…you with red hair. Ron plus Hermione forever? YOU’RE GOING TO BE A WEASLEY!?!”
Hermione squealed and Jumped up to hug her future sister-in-law. “Isn’t it wonderful? Ron asked me last night! He made me promise to not tell anyone until he told your mum, and Harry of course. I figured it wasn’t fair he got to tell Harry and I couldn’t tell you so I found a loophole around your brother’s silly spell. That boy never was very good at covering all of his bases.”
Ginny just beamed at Hermione, finally she was going to have the sister she always wanted.
“Mione, I am so excited for the both of you, but please change your hair back, it’s freaking me out!”
Hermione laughed and hugged Ginny tightly as her hair returned to it’s normal brown waves. “We’re going to be sisters Gin! Will you be my maid of honor?”

Whew! That was a long one! I'll try and keep them around this length or a little shorter. Next installment coming soon!

Thank you to all my readers! I'm glad you have enjoyed it so far. I have quite a bit of this story written, but I'm only going to post when I know people are reading so keep those comments coming!

Ron woke up and bounced out of bed. He had never felt so good in his entire life. Thinking of the night before brought a special gleam to his eyes. “I am the luckiest bloke in the world” he mumbled to himself as he dried off from his steaming shower. Just then he heard a loud *POP* come from the living room.
“Ron? Where are you mate? I was hoping we could have breakfast together.”
“You just want some of Ginny’s cooking” Ron chuckled as he walked to the front of his and Ginny’s flat.
“Yes well, where is that delicious sister of yours, I think she needs a good snogging”
“Ugh! Harry! Too far mate.” Ron shuddered thinking of his best friend and his baby sister making out.
“Haha, sorry Ron. So what is the big news? The note you sent me last night was very cryptic. I can’t believe you sent me an owl at 3 in the morning!”
“Well, I finally did it. I asked Hermione to lower herself and marry this sorry bloke standing before you!”
“No! Did she say yes?”
“surprisingly, yes.” Harry quickly crossed the room and gave his best mate a hearty handshake and pulled him in for a hug. “It’s about time you big chicken.”
“Hey! No name calling, you’ve been dating my sister longer than I’ve been with Mione. There is no ring on her finger yet!”
“so you bought her a ring did you?”
“Oh Harry stop making fun, come on lets go to the Burrow. I have to tell mum.

“OH! Hermione! I would love to be your maid of honor!” Ginny cried out with tears running down her cheeks. “come now lets beat Ron to the punch and tell mum ourselves!”

“Gin, you know I can’t.”
“but I can” Ginny got a wicked look in her eyes. “come on let me get Ron back for all the teasing he gives Harry and I for snogging when we think no one is looking.
“Using my engagement for your own benefit already? George and Fred must be so proud.” Hermione laughed.

Ginny winked at Hermione and suddenly disapparated.
“Oh that girl is going to be the death of me” Hermione chuckled as she then followed her friend’s lead and dissapparated to the burrow.

The lot of them all apparated in the garden a few seconds apart. Ron was distracted by a small gnome that had begun gnawing at his right ankle.
“Hey Harry, check this out!” Ron picked up the gnome and dropped kicked it into a tall bush. Harry wasn’t paying attention though. He was too busy kissing Ginny to notice Ron’s amazing form when abusing the small creature.
“Harry! Geroff me baby sister!”
“Sorry mate, I missed breakfast and was craving something sweet on my lips.” Harry said trying to get a reaction from his best friend.
Ron then noticed Hermione and walked over to her hugging her tightly to his chest, slowly he realized what was going on and turned to Ginny.
“Oi Ginny, what are you doing here?”
“Oh, nothing… just wanted to talk to Mum is all.” Ron saw the look that crossed her face as she said this. “You know! Don’t you dare tell her!” With that he ran for the door trying to beat his sister to his mother. Ginny just laughed and disapparated into the living room where her mother was busy knitting.
Harry laughed and gave Hermione a big hug. “Congratulations soon to be Mrs. Weasley.”
“Thank you Harry.” Hermione chuckled “It will only happen if he doesn’t kill himself trying to beat Ginny inside though.” Harry and Hermione walked into the burrow slowly waiting to see everything unfold.
“Mum, guess what!” Ginny shouted. Just then Ron ran into the house and said, “Mum! Don’t listen to her! I need to tell you…”

Sorry a bit of a cliffy, but I think it fits better into the next chapter.

Molly Weasley shook her head at her two youngest children who had suddenly appeared in her tidy living room. “Ronald, Ginny, you don’t live here anymore I am not going to settle any more of your squabbles!”
“But Mum!” They shouted in unison as Harry and Hermione slipped in behind them.
“Oh it’s all the four of you then? I think perhaps this is more important than I thought.” With a flick of her wand her knitting took care of itself as she made herself comfortable in her big chair next to the fire.
“Mum Hermione and I are…”
“Ron and Hermione are!”
The red heads began at once and then started telling one another to “shove off” and “Mind your business”
Molly sighed and looked toward Hermione. “Well my dear this one seems to be about you, mind letting me in on the big secret?”

Forgetting about Ron’s spell Hermione ran over to Molly and sat at her feet on the floor. “Oh yes Mrs. Weasley! You see, what I mean is… You’re getting me as a daughter!” With those words a bright red zipper appeared where her lips had once been. Molly looked confusedly at Hermione’s mouth and then to Ron. While Hermione struggled to unzip her lips a look of recognition crossed Molly’s face. “Oh Ron! Hermione! You’re getting married?!” Molly screamed out in delight. She helped Hermione to her feet and then looked at her lips suddenly realizing that something was wrong. Turning red in the face all the way to her ears she turned to her youngest son. “RONALD WEASLEY! You put a spell on your future wife?! You fix it right now!” Ron looked at the floor in shame waved his wand toward Hermione and suddenly the zipper was gone.

Ginny and Harry chuckled in the back of the room while Molly dragged Ron by his ear to the kitchen table and told him to polish it until it was as clear as a divination ball. Hearing the laughter molly rounded on Ginny “And you young lady! You were trying to steal your brother’s spotlight! Shame on you! I want you to help him!” Ginny pouted and walked over to the table with a look of shame on her face and mouthed to Ron, “I’m sorry, don’t be mad” he just smiled at her and they began scrubbing the table.

Molly turned to the other two in the room, “As for you two! “ She chucked Harry under the chin and put her arm around Hermione “Lets go talk about this wedding!” the three of them settled on the sofa and Hermione blushed. “Mrs. Weasley?” “Molly dear.” “Oh, um, Molly, How did you get your two adult children to just listen and do chores for you?”
“Oh dear, muggles don’t work the same way as we do, do they?” Hermione shook her head. “ They know I’m their mother AND THEY HAD BETTER DO WHAT I SAY OR I’LL HEX THEM INTO NEXT WEEK!” She shouted toward the kitchen making sure that her children heard her. Hermione just laughed and said “I hope I’m a mum like you some day Molly.”
“You will be dear, don’t you worry.”

“Haha! Mum said she’d hex you!”
“No, she said she’d hex us, not just me.”
“oh, right.” Ron cautiously looked over his shoulder to see if his mom was looking at them. “D’you think she’d care if we used out wands instead of out elbow grease to clean?”
“probably, but I’m tired. You’re beloved woke me just after sunrise.” With that Ginny moved her wand with a “swish and flick” and the sponge came to life scrubbing the table harder than she ever could. Ron did the same and sat beside her.
“I’m sorry I tried to steal your thunder Ron. I think I was just upset you could tell Harry but Hermione wasn’t allowed to tell me.”
“I know, that was mean of me. I was just afraid you’d talk Mione out of it and make her come to her senses. The only one she listens to more than you is Harry and I figured he’d be on my side.”
“Ron! Are you telling me you think you aren’t good enough for Hermione?!”
“Well yeah. I mean I’m not really, but I love her so much I had to try to keep her forever.” Ginny placed her hand on Ron’s knee. “Ronald, you are one of the greatest men I know, Hermione is blessed to have you in her life, let alone to marry you.”
Ron blushed so deeply he could feel the heat coming off of his cheeks. “Aww sis, you’re great too. Harry is mad about you, and even though he’s “The boy who lived” he’ll never be good enough for my baby sister!” Ginny blushed and gave Ron a playful shove.

This one is a shorter chapter, but I liked where I ended it. I may not post for a few days because friends are coming into town. Plus I just got engaged! so many things are happening,but I promise to post as soon as I can. I'm addicted to writing this story!

“Oh sweet child, I am so happy I’ll be having another daughter-in-law. Fleur is nice and all but she and Bill hardly ever visit. Do promise you’ll visit!”
“Of course we will! I love coming to the burrow, it’s like a second home to me. What about Fred and George’s wives? Don’t they visit?”
“Oh dear, they are so busy with their children, it’s a lucky day when they can shower. Those boys are mad to live next door to each other, each of them with a set of twins! It’s any wonder that Katrina and Serena haven’t left them!”
Harry shook his head and laughed, “A set of twins, marrying a set of twins, and each of them having a set of twins. The neighbors must be terrified for their lives! I could only imagine the explosions and pranks coming out of their shop, plus they are seeing double!?”
They all had a good laugh at that. All at once their eyes looked to Hermione’s left hand where she nervously played with her engagement ring.
“Oh Hermione! Lets see the ring!”
“I haven’t even shown Ginny yet Harry.” turning to Molly “Could she and Ron be excused from their chores for now so I can show off the lovely gift your son has given me?”
A smile danced in Molly’s eyes “Alright dear, but just this once. Ronald! Ginerva! Come in this room right now!”
Ron and Ginny both ran to the living room, “We just finished mum! Do you want us to do something else as well?”
“Yes Ronald, I’d like you to sit down so we can all see what kind of taste you have in jewelry.” Ron’s ears turned red as he sat down. Ginny sat next to Hermione eager to see the bauble.
“Here is the symbol of Ron’s love” Hermione said giddily as she stuck out her left hand. Proudly displayed was an amazing silver ring with a shiny purple stone attached. The band had intricate knots engraved on the silver, and the purple stone had flecks of silver and gold swirling inside of it.
“Ohhh!” Ginny gasped. “Ron, it’s so pretty! Where on earth did you buy it?”
“Actually, I made it.”
“You did?!” Both Harry and Molly gasped
“Yes, I went to visit Neville at Hogwarts and we were talking about how I could never find a way to describe my feelings for Hermione. We sat near the lake under the tree where I first realized I loved her, and sitting beneath a toadstool I found the stone. It was so gorgeous I picked it up. I was so surprised to find a precious stone in such an unexpected place, I knew then and there it had to go into her engagement ring.”
“Tell them what you told me last night Ron” Hermione said with tears glistening in her deep brown eyes.
“It was like falling in love all over again, that spot had revealed not only a precious stone, but the love of my life. The stone is like Hermione, one of a kind, and the most gorgeous thing anyone could ever imagine” Ron choked a bit on the tears forming. “Hermione has made me become a better man, and she deserves the best, so I learned how to work with silver and made her ring with my own two hands. It could never be enough to show her my love, but I plan on doing that every day for the rest of my life.”

Ginny and Harry snuggled closer on the couch both with tears in their eyes over the sentiment. Hermione hugged and kissed Ron on the cheek while Molly dabbed at her eyes with a little handkerchief. “It figures I’d have to wait until the last of my boys grew up to see that old Charm your dad showed me the night he proposed.”

With that molly got up briskly and walked over to the fireplace to “call” Arthur at work and tell him the good news.

Thank you so much for the congratulations! I am so happy! I wrote that last entry the night before My man proposed... strangely enough he gave me a white gold (silver looking) ring with a light purple center stone and eight little diamonds around it.I had no idea!! I think I will write the next chapter tonight since I'm so happy I can't sleep!

This chapter was a little difficult to write and I'm not quite sure why. I have ideas for the next chapter though.
Moxie: My fiance's name is Caleb.

Harry whispered in Ginny’s ear, “Lets go to your old room for a few minutes alone.”
She nodded slightly and walked upstairs. Ron and Hermione didn’t even notice they were so busy looking into each other’s eyes.
Once inside Ginny’s old room Harry grabbed her and hugged her spinning them both around the small room. “Gin, I am so happy for Ron and Hermione! I can’t believe after all of these years they are finally taking that plunge!”
“I know! And to think that all those years ago I had to convince Hermione to just go on a date with Ron! They owe us! They should name their children after us!” Harry laughed heartily and leaned in to gently kiss Ginny on the lips. “I love you Ginny, you know that don’t you?”
“I love you too Harry… What is wrong?”
“Nothing, I’m just… I don’t know. I’m overwhelmed. My two best friends are getting married. We were just kids a few years ago, and now…” Harry trailed off getting a bit choked up.
“Harry, you know perfectly well that you were never “just kids”. You have always been the triumphant trio. Be happy your best mate is distracted his love and devotion. Take advantage of the situation and snog his baby sister in her old bedroom.” Ginny got a naughty gleam in her eyes. Harry smiled slowly and pulled Ginny closer. He dropped his head so that his lips could find hers and suddenly life was perfect once more.

Molly Weasley was a very busy witch and let all of the family know the happy news in just under four minutes. Everyone was so excited to know Ron was smart enough to hold on to Hermione.
Molly returned to the living room and saw the newly engaged couple kissing pretty heavily. With a wave of her wand they were instantly separated.
“Aww MUM! Come on!”
“None of that Ronald, we have a wedding to plan and very little time!”
“Oh what is the hurry mum? Why can’t we have a long engagement?”
“Short engagements equal long marriages Ronald”
“Actually Molly, I was hoping for some time to plan slowly. I’d like to involve my mum as well.”
“Oh of course dear, whatever you want. After all this is your special day.”
“Hey it’s my special day too!”
“Oh Ron, you’re lucky she said yes. Sometimes you do carry on about the silliest notions.” With that Molly whisked Hermione into the kitchen.

Ron grumbled to himself as his betrothed was dragged off to the kitchen. He suddenly realized Harry and Ginny had gone missing. Feeling very lonely he went out to the garden hoping to find some gnomes to send flying. It was only the day after getting engaged and he felt completely abandoned.
As he stepped out into the Fresh air Two loud *POPs* sounded just outside the garden gate. Ron looked up to see his twin brothers suddenly appear.
“Oh Ronniekins! We just heard the fabulous news!” Fred shouted in a sing-song voice.
“Oh Ron, you’re soooo romantic. I wish you were going to marry me!” George batted his eyelashes and pretended to faint against Fred.
“Oh shove off you Gits. I’m in love with the most beautiful, intelligent woman in the world.”
“That’s not a twin!” The twins replied in unison.
“Our wives are all of that, but there are two of them.”
“Have to say that mate, I swear they know when we say another woman is better than them” Fred whispered.
“You’re the genius that invented the invisible extendible ear!” George said as he shoved his mirror image.
Ron just laughed. “So what are you guys doing here?”
“Oh didn’t you know? Mum invited the lot of us over to help plan the wedding, which means women and children inside, and us men folk outside hunting wild game.” George grunted and thumped his chest.
“You know there is no wild game out here moron.” Ron chastised.
“Oh Ronniekins, Wild game is our code word for little brothers who are newly engaged.” And with that Fred tackled Ron and the three young men wrestled in the garden of the burrow, just as they had done the evening before Ron’s life had changed forever. The day before he me The Boy who Lived. The shouts and laughter continued until a small explosion was heard from inside the house.
“Sounds like Serena is here with Winnifred and Georgina!” Fred chuckled.
“They caused that explosion?” Ron laughed.
“Oh little brother, just you wait until you’re a father, and the kids have regular access to fireworks.”
Ron looked at them in mock fright, “Quick one of you kick me so that I can’t have children!”
“With pleasure little brother” One of the twins said as he tackled Ron once more.
