Here is the first chapter from our favourite Metamorphamagus!

Quote:
Chapter 1 - The Wedding

“Wotcher Harry! Happy Birthday mate,” Tonks said to Harry Potter, he was surprisingly calm to see me standing there, outside his bedroom window. It was Harry’s seventeenth birthday, and it was also time for him to go see the Weasleys. It was my job to make sure he got there safely.

As Harry let me in through the window he said, “Thanks, Tonks. Good to see you.” He was a man now, and he seemed to have that in mind every second of the day.

“Good to see you too, Harry. You’ve got you’re trunk packed?” Tonks asked looking around the room expecting to see everything thrown around it, like mine, but Tonks didn’t. Tonks took a closer look at Harry now; he was wearing a grey shirt and over-sized trousers tied to his waist. He looked a little more tired then usual.

“Yep. I’m ready.” Harry said to me in a weary voice. Maybe he was going to miss the Dursleys? No, that couldn’t be it. Harry hated the Dursleys, and Tonks can’t blame him. “Let’s go,” he said.

Tonks levitated Harry’s trunk for him and he walked into then out of the Dursleys living room looking just as bad as he did before. Tonks couldn’t say the same for the Dursleys, they were almost whooping in their seats as Harry opened the door and went outside.

Time for some fun! Tonks walked into the living room and all the Dursleys looked at me down their noses. Mrs. Dursley was a right snob, that’s for sure. Tonks didn’t think she liked it very much when Tonks turned into her with a pig nose. Maybe she did, Tonks didn’t know, the look of sheer terror on her face confused me.

“Hey, Harry! You feel okay?” Tonks asked as soon as I got out of the house. “You can tell me anything, you know? Anything Harry.”

“Anything?” Harry asked.

“Anything. Just call me your Guardian Angel. Doing my job ‘cause I love it.”

“Thanks Tonks.”

“Nothing on your mind right now?”

“Nothing.”

“Okay, then. Buckle up for the ride, mate!”

Tonks Disappirated then, glad to be done with that place, it was dragging me down, you know? After that weird feeling of being squished in a tube was done with, Harry and Tonks were back at the Burrow.

“Harry!” Molly shrieked. “Oh my! Look how thin you are! Don’t those people feed you anything?” Trust Molly. It’s always about the food.

“Oh I’ll worry about that later! There’s so much too do! My Bill’s getting married!” Molly cried and rushed off mumbling something about where all the other Weasley kids were. Probably hiding from their mother.

“Need some help, Molly?” Tonks asked her pulling a hand through my Muggle punk rock pink hair and taking a seat.

“Oh yes dear! That would be lovely! Just go outside and Arthur will tell you what to do!” Molly was cooking frantically, brandishing her wand around the kitchen. Knives were flying around, so were forks. Better get out of here before she accidentally impales me with them.

Tonks spent the rest of the day helping Arthur handle all the preparations, the poor man was almost pulling his hair out when she got there. Even Arthur can’t handle that much stress. Tonks helped out with the decorations as well, pink of course. That was Fleur’s choice. Had to tone it down a bit though, Fleur parents were screaming at me in French until she did.

We had a quick dinner that night. Harry seemed a bit better off now that he was around the Weasleys and Hermione. Remus was there too. He seemed a little tired too, and he seemed ravenous. All of the Order was there, except for Mundungus, Molly had put her foot down on that. If only Albus was there, he would have made the night perfect. We all had a place to sleep but it wasn’t exactly the most comfortable to be sleeping in a bubble pad in the Burrow’s entrance way for the night. A little over crowded, but I volunteered to be one of the people who did.

That whole night Remus avoided me. I planned to speak to him alone at the wedding the next day.

“Tonks dear, Tonks? TONKS!”

“Huh? What?”

Molly was tapping on the outer shell of my bubble pad and telling off George at the same time.

“Wake up dear! We need to start getting everything ready! Every one else is up! Well except for the girls-”

“Okay, okay Molly! I’m up! I’m up!” Tonks said rolling forwards in the circular ball suspended from the ceiling that I had conjured yesterday. As soon as she was gone though, she rolled backwards again. What? Tonks was tired!

“Tonks, it’s time. Molly’s coming back,” a voice said, it sounded a lot like Remus’ but slightly softer. I jumped up to look but he was already gone. That is-if it was Remus. I was up anyway.

Time went by quickly during the early morning. Every one was up for a change and we all helped out here and there. Soon the early guests started arriving though and Tonks decided that she would play host for a bit and welcome every one. Some people she had never heard of before ended up on the doorstep and she had to keep sending Arthur Patronuses to ask him if they were invited. Some weren’t a problem; they brought their invites and everything.

It wasn’t long before Tonks had to be called upstairs though to help Fleur with her gown and such. Frankly she thuoght Molly just wanted me to see what Tonks could be with Remus. She always did things like that-not that it didn’t help sometimes.

Fleur looked great. Tonks had to admit it. She was wearing a silver wedding gown, similar to what she had learned that Muggles wear, only there was something different to it. Something magical about the dress itself. Tonks didn’t mean anything sentimental, just magical. It didn’t have a veil or flower bouquets but it had a long train and almost shimmered in the dull light of the late afternoon. It looked nothing like what dress robes were, however.

Tonks thought that she might wear dress robes, maybe Bill would. Molly wouldn’t want to know what I would be wearing though. Bright pink dress robes. Platform heels and my punk rock hair again. I might change my face a little, a smaller nose...red eyes...maybe. Fleur’s a lot better now. Not too snob-like any more, she’s close to being normal.

“Eh, Tonks? Merci. It means thank you.”

“Oh. Then I guess your welcome,” Tonks smiled at her having absolutely no idea of what she was talking about. On the way down she changed into her robes and tried on her new nose and eyes. They looked wicked.

Tonks walked down stairs again and took a look at the crowd of people milling in the living room of the small house. She instantly found Arthur and tapped him on the shoulder to ask him why they were all stuck inside and he just replied, “You’ll see, Tonks.”

“Everyone!” Molly called suddenly and we were all ushered in to the back garden of the Weasleys’ home. It must have been magically enlarged and possibly been temporarily hidden to stop muggles from wondering down. Their yard was now large enough to be an altar and had a beautiful garden surrounding it. Tonks was ushered into a seat three rows back, behind all of the very close relatives of Bill and Fleur.

A few strands of music could be heard in the background, a little soft melody that everyone seemed to remember but did not know. She raised her eyes to where Bill was standing, he was wearing wizarding robes! His were black and he wore his favourite boots underneath, his dragon fang still on his ear. Tonks was surprised Molly didn’t rip it out yet.

Suddenly as all of the seats filled up and when they were no more guests to enter, the music rose like the volume dial had just been twisted. The melody was so familiar! If only she knew what it was!

With one last high pitched note, the music ended and a ripple of gasps cut through the crowd as three snow white owls were released. They had rose petals on their backs and in their beaks and claws and while they flew the petals fluttered to the ground and on to some of our faces. The music started again and a little girl with golden hair and blue eyes skipped along the little red carpet that was set out, Tonks thought her name was Gabrielle, Fleur’s sister. Gabrielle was singing the melody sweetly, but still loudly enough for us all to hear, as she threw flowers all around the seated guests. One she reached the end, she stood beside Bill and she became silent.

A slightly faster more extravagant tune sounded a few seconds after Gabrielle grew silent and a long row of gown-clad women walked hand in hand down the isle. Once again the owls flew over them shaking the rose petals over the bridesmaids. Once they had reached the end and in turn they took their place at the front of the altar everything grew silent once more. It began to rain petals, only this time the owls were not the cause, but a wizard in black dress robes at the back of the altar that must have been helping with the wedding.

There was a strip of white petals falling right over the isle as Fleur stepped out into the light. Her dress shimmering endlessly in the golden light, melding into the silver of the dress, Fleur walked-almost floated, down the isle to Bill and she stood facing him.

The actual ceremony was a bit less interesting, some might say dull but when the vicar pronounced them to be man and wife, Fleur stepped forwards, ran her fingers over Bill’s scared face and gave him a kiss. It was a fairytale wedding, if not, it was close. I was happy for him...for both of them.

We all wondered where the wedding reception was going to be until Arthur brought out an old car tyre told us that it was a port key. “I called in a favour...” he said as we all got a finger on it and where transported away with a nick of my collar.

We were all standing in some kind of field right in front of us they had put up a tent and when I turned around I saw Hogwarts castle. “Wicked! How did you get to do this?” Tonks asked and as if to answer my question, out popped Minerva McGonagall in her favourite red-coloured dress robes.

“Come in everyone!” she called us towards the tent where music was coming from.

“Let’s party!” Tonks screamed and leaped forwards and the whole crowd ran after me, pushing and pulling to be the first one in. She hopped into the tent and a grin appeared on my face. She just couldn’t help it! The Weird Sisters and every other Wizarding rock band that Tonks knew was lined up inside...paradise. Obviously that was Bill’s work.

Suddenly everyone came rushing through the opening all at once and rushed to the side of the different bands. Almost everyone was dancing and Tonks couldn’t stop myself from dancing as well. When I finally began to get bored a soft hand slipped into mine and she turned around, Remus was gently steering me away from the crowd. Grinning like an idiot, Tonks followed him happy to see that he was talking to me again.

“Tonks...I’ve realised something...” he began.

Tonks’ heart dropped. What else would that be about but some sort of Auror job or something?

“You didn’t talk to me since I brought Harry to the Burrow yesterday,” she said cutting him off almost sharply.

“I’m sorry, Tonks...I just had to think for a while...”

“What about?”

Remus sighed, his gorgeous eyes becoming slightly worried. “Well, Tonks....Will you marry me?”

Tonks squealed like a little girl and threw my arms around him. As his arms wrapped me in his embrace, Remus whispered into my ear, “So, is that a yes?”

“That’s a yes,” Tonks said pulling away slightly and then, she kissed him. She spent the whole night dancing.

Chapter 2 - Harry's Apparation Test

The morning of Harry’s apparition test arrived; Tonks watched Harry slump down the stairs nervously and attempt to eat carpet-toast in vain.

“Harry you’ll be fine, I failed miserably but I was really rubbish at Apparating before.” Tonks tried to comfort Harry, but he didn’t seem to hear a word she said.

“Tonks, do you honestly think he’s going to pass this test?” asked Lupin, appearing suddenly and taking her to one side.

Tonks didn’t know what to say. Harry was good enough to pass the test, but he didn’t have the confidence.

“Oh Remus, I wish there was some way to boost his confidence!” she whispered in reply. “Can you say something to him?”

Remus looked slightly hesitant at the idea of approaching Harry with comfort at this time.

“What would I say? I’m not Siri-“ But Tonks cut him off.

“Don’t you dare say that! Besides, you’re as good as, now go! Do your comforting thing that parental-like people do.”

Tonks watched Remus walk timidly over to Harry, pointlessly nervous. She sighed and smiled, Remus was awfully cute sometimes.

“Erm… Harry I… I’m sure you’ll do fine on this test,” said Lupin. Harry looked up.

“On what evidence do you base that opinion?” he asked, looking pitifully hopeless.

“Oh Harry, there’s no need to go all High-Court-Judge on me. You’re good at Apparition and… well… I believe in you.”

Tonks found herself suppressing a laugh.

How cheesy can you get? She thought. Harry looked like he wanted to laugh as well.

“Well erm… if you say so… I’ll give it my best shot,” Harry smiled.

Remus cheered, “Excellent! Exactly the attitude! C’mon, it’s time to go, good luck! Tonks is going to be there for you!”

Tonks stood up and stumbled over the table-leg in Harry’s direction.

“Ready?” she asked. Harry nodded and walked out of the kitchen, a slight essence of confidence in his step. Tonks winked at Remus on her way out and saw him blush slightly, winking back.

Harry was exceptionally quiet on the way to the ministry, his nerves increasing with every step he took. It seemed only a few seconds after leaving that Tonks and Harry were standing in front of an examiner, on top of a random hill in the country outside the ministry.

“Righto, which one of you is taking the test?” asked the examiner. Harry raised his hand slightly; he seemed unable to speak.

The examiner pushed Harry into a line next to the other young men and woman taking the test. Tonks stood on the outskirts, watching curiously.

“Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I am Mr. Karlyle, you apparition examiner. There’s no need to be afraid, everything will be fine!” Mr. Karlyle smiled at everyone in front of him patronisingly, then picked up a pile of wooden hoops.

“The first test will be very simple and safe, just to make sure all of you remember how to apparate. I am placing these hoops 5 metres in front of you. You must apparatye into the hoop with as much control as possible, if you get my meaning…”

Before anyone could register what Mr. Karlyle had said, he was counting down from five. Tonks watched Harry panic, then ready himself, concentrating hard on the hoop.

“3… 2… 1!” Tonks took a sharp breath in and watched Harry turn on the spot. She closed her eyes and waited for that distinct popping sound.

She opened her eyes and saw a rather surprised looking Harry twisting around in a green hoop. She laughed out loud at the look on his face and he looked at her as if to say: “shut up…”

“Excellent excellent,” said the examiner, smiling at them all again. “Now onto the REAL test! There is a rather nice little rose garden a little way from here, you can just see it from up on this hill. I would like you all to Apparate by the fountain in the center, take your time!”

It took a few moments for these words to sink in. Why was he making the test so hard, so suddenly? Tonks knew that the test was hard, but she gave Harry an encouraging wink. He smiled slightly and began concentrating on the rose garden.

Tonks watched him for several minutes. A few other’s suddenly popped away into the distance, whether they splinched or not she didn’t know. But Harry was obviously taking great care.

Suddenly, Tonks blinked and Harry as gone. She jumped and peered into the distance. Harry had been the last to apparate, hopefully he hadn’t gone wrong… She and Mr. Karlyle apparated into the Rose garden and looked around. Around half of the people being examined were scattered around the fountain. Other’s appeared out of hedges nearby, looking thoroughly annoyed. Professor Karlyle was already tending to few a legs that seemed to have misplaced their bodies. But where was Harry?

“Erm… I think I concentrated on the fountain a little too much…” said a voice above Tonks’ head. She looked up and her mouth fell open.

Harry was standing on top of the fountain, smirking slightly. Tonks burst out laughing as Mr. Karlyle peered up at him, also smirking slightly.

“Well… I suppose that counts… yes I can count that! Which means you’ve passed, well done!” he said.

Tonks was still laughing at Harry. He looked like someone in a great position of authority, trying not to look too pleased with himself. Mr. Karlyle waved his wand and a certificate appeared in Harry’s hand, along with a license. Giggling tremendously, Tonks watched Harry climb down from the fountain and Apparated back to the Burrow.

As soon as Tonks appeared, Remus charged forward.

“Did he pass? What happened?”

Tonks didn’t answer, but smiled. A small popping noise came from behind her and Remus cheered. Harry was restricting his muscles so he didn’t beam like a child, a golden certificate sparkling in his right hand.

Remus ran forward and hugged Harry briefly, congratulating him along with others.

“See Remus, I knew you could do it,” Tonks whispered in Remus’ ear.

“Do what?” he asked, looking confused.

“He couldn’t have done it if you hadn’t said just a few words to him this morning. I know it seems like so little to you, but I saw it in his face. He really appreciates you y’know!”

Tonks smiled kindly at Remus, then left he and Harry to feel pleased with themselves without anyone else knowing how secretly proud they were.

Chapter 3 – Death of a Loved One

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Tonks, Harry and Remus appeared in the middle of the Weasley's garden in the blink of an eye. They walked through that garden and up to the Burrow. Mrs. Weasley was waiting for them.

Mrs. Weasley waved and looked at Harry "How'd you do, Harry, dear?"

"I passed," Harry said, smiling, as they walked into the Burrow. "I concentrated a bit too much, but I passed."

"Excellent, dear," Mrs. Weasley said in reply. "We are going to have a little celebration for you shortly. I've got the girls in the kitchen and the boys setting everything up. ... You three, sit down."

"Thanks, Molly," Remus said, but not sitting down. "But, I'd rather help out."

"Me too," Tonks said, even though she knew that she might do something wrong because of her clumsiness.

Harry looked at Mrs. Weasley and then said, "I'd like to help as well. I don't mind at all."

"Oh ... alright," Mrs. Weasley sighed. "Remus and Harry, you can go and help the boys outside. I believe that they're not to far from the garden."

Remus nodded and walked out the door, with Harry following him. It was quiet for some moments after the door had closed. Tonks looked up at Mrs. Weasley.

"What about me, Molly?" Tonks asked, changing her hair from bubble-gum pink to red.

"You ..." Mrs. Weasley said, smiling at Tonks' Weasley-ish look. "You can come into the kitchen and help us in there."

Tonks smiled and followed Mrs,. Weasley into the kitchen. As Tonks walked in, she saw that Hermione, Ginny and Fleur were busy preparing for the celebration meal. Ginny turned around and looked at Tonks.

"So, is this my long lost sister or something, mum?" Ginny asked, giggling.

"Nice look, Tonks," Hermione said, turning around. "I think you need a bit longer nose, to match Ron's."

Fleur quickly turned around. The girls looked at Tonks patiently. She could already be mistaken as a Weasley.

"Alright," Tonks said, as she screwed up her eyes. A second later, her nose got bigger.

Ginny and Hermione started laughing; Fleur was trying not to laugh. Mrs. Weasley looked up at the girls and joined in. After a few minutes of enjoying Tonks' new look, they went back to work preparing the meal.

"Is the food done, Molly?" Mr. Weasley asked, as he entered the house.

"Almost, dear. Come in here. We're going to need help getting all this food out."

Mr. Weasley quickly entered the kitchen and looked around at the girls. When his eyes reached Tonks, Arthur looked at her, confused. "Hello. Who are you?"

Tonks giggled. "It's me, Arthur. ... Tonks."

"Oh," Mr. Weasley said his face turning a shade of pink. "My bad."

The girls giggled once more. A few minutes later, they took out the food for the celebration. There they saw that Remus, Charlie, Bill, Fred, George, Ron and Harry had gotten everything set up just in time.

"It took you long enough!" Fred said, his stomach growling.

"We've been starving out here!" George said, his stomach also growling.

Tonks glared at Fred and George. She and the girls quickly set up the food and they all began to eat. Tonks was pretty quiet at they ate. She was complimented many times about her Weasley-look. Tonks just nodded thanks and continued to eat.

Pop!

Tonks dropped her plate full of food and looked around, her wand at the ready. "What was that?"

"I dunno," Harry said, as everyone else got out their wands.

After a few minutes of waiting, a red haired man showed up. The red haired man was Percy.

"Percy!" Mrs. Weasley said, running up to him and giving him a big hug. "You're here!"

Percy smiled and said, "Yes, mother. I am so sorry for not standing by you guys during this whole time."

"That's okay, Percy," Mr. Weasley said. "Welcome back, son!"

CRASH!

"What was that?" Percy asked, looking around toward the Burrow.

Everyone shrugged their shoulders and walked toward the Burrow. When they got past the garden, ten Death Eaters appeared, including Voldemort. "Ah. So sorry to drop in, but I have to have a word with Potter."

"Never!" Tonks said, holding her wand tighter. "Never! … STUPEFY!"

Voldemort blocked the spell and ordered, "Get them!"

The Death Eaters moved forward, shooting spells left and right. Voldemort laughed and Apparated, as Tonks tried to Stun him again.

"Trying to Stun my Master?" asked one of the Death Eaters, putting Tonks under the Cruciatus Curse.

"Lestrange!" Tonks screamed, breaking free from the Curse. "STUPEFY!"

The spell hit her and Bellatrix fell to the ground. "Yes. But, I got you instead." Tonks stepped over Bellatrix and went to help the others. The battle had just begun.

The battle went on for what seemed like ages. Spells were flying in all directions. Some of the Death Eaters Apparated, taking those who have been Stunned with them. Soon, there were only two Death Eaters. One of them chickened out and Apparated like the others. The second, stayed.

"Looks like you’re out numbered," Tonks said, trying to Stun the Death Eater.

"That's what you think. AVADA KEDAVRA!"

Tonks jumped out of the way. The spell hit a shed and it immediately exploded. The Death Eater growled and started casting the Killing Curse again. This time, instead of going after Tonks, the Death Eater went after Percy.

"PERCY, LOOK OUT!" Mr. Weasley shouted.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!"

Percy turned around and tried to jump out of the way, but it was to late. The curse hit him and he fell to the ground. The Death Eater quickly laughed and Apparated. Everyone ran up to Percy's body as fast as they could. Tonks, Mrs. Weasley, Fleur, Ginny and Hermione began to cry. Mr. Weasley, Remus, Bill, Charlie, Fred, George, Ron and Harry stared at Percy's body and comforted the crying girls. Percy, the one that had saw that his actions toward his family were wrong and the one just come back home, was now gone ... forever.

NTFC Chapter 4:

Quote:
Chapter 4: Percy’s Funeral.

Immediate wails were heard coming from all directions, The Weasleys gathered around their lifeless family member. Ginny’s sniffs and quiet sobs were drowned by Mrs Weasleys loud shrieks. Mr Weasley had tried to steady himself but gave up half way and fell onto a chair. Tonks buried her face in her hands while Remus had draped his arm around her shoulders, hoping it would provide some sort of comfort. Hermione dutifully stood next to Ron, holding his hand. The Death Eaters by then had vanished. Everyone left in the Burrow (that was half destroyed) was left in cold and darkness.

After several days of mourning and distasteful meals ( Mrs Weasley would get sentimental every time she approached the kitchen, saying that Percy was the one who appreciated her cooking the most), they had decided to conduct a very small and private funeral for Percy. The Burrow was rebuilt by then; new furniture inhabited the empty spaces. On the day of the funeral, familiar faces entered the gate to pay their last respect to a dear Weasley. Ron was seen standing near his parents, along with the other four Weasley brothers, for once, Fred and George had nothing to smile, laugh or joke about. Hermione was seen huddling on a couch with the youngest Weasley, she was consoling the young girl who now looked more fragile and vulnerable than before.

Harry stood in the midst of this ceremony, quite incapable of doing anything. He had continuously wondered why Death Eaters had sought them, why now? his brain kept repeating. He was so fully absorbed in his thoughts that he had not realized a small petite figure which appeared next to him.

‘Alright there, Harry?’ the youthful, once pink-haired lady asked.

‘I’m okay. Tonks, what happened to your hair?’ Instead of its attractive colour, Tonks turned it jet black while pulling it up into a messy ponytail.

‘Thought it’d be appropriate for this,’ she shot him an encouraging smile.

‘Where’s Lupin?’ he asked, his mind still blank.

‘Oh, somewhere around, I s’pose – listen Harry, I need to tell you something, but you mustn’t tell the others.’ Tonks voice turned into a low whisper, but before she could finish, they heard soft dreary music floating into the house, it was an indication that the service was about to start.

‘I’ll speak to you later.’ Tonks replied before moving into to the garden where she joined Remus.

‘We are all gathered here today to pay our last respects to a dearly loved son and brother to the Weasleys. Let us all pray…’

‘Percy was a lovely son, he was blinded by…’

‘Uptight, but nonetheless, our brother…’

‘I…I…I WANT MY PERCY BACK…’

The service lasted for another hour, in which Mrs Weasley had sobbed uncontrollably. When the coffin was finally lowered into the ground, all of the Weasleys had tear stricken faces. Tonks edged closer to Harry as the funeral was coming to an end.

‘Harry, I need to tell you something.’ She whispered. Harry merely nodded.

‘There’s a meeting between the Death Eaters that invaded the Burrow. I intercepted this message after I visited the Ministry two days ago, I’m guessing that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named will not be present. Please don’t tell the Weasleys’ about this, I’m afraid their emotions might take control of them.’ Harry turned to face Tonks, he’s eyes were cold and emotionless.

‘When’s this meeting, Tonks?’

‘Tonight.’
