Right, this is a one shot which I'm determined to get posted up here.

Hermione opened the dormitory door to find the room completely empty. She smiled slightly and then pulled all the things she needed from her trunk. The Yule Ball was that night and she was getting ready. She placed her dress robes on the edge of her bed and left for the bathroom. When she returned, drying her hair with her wand, the hangings around Alicia's bed were closed. She stopped in the doorway. They were open before she had left.

''Alicia?'' A spring creaked as a small crack appeared in the curtains. ''Are you okay?'' The grey coloured eye nodded before Alicia shut the curtains again. Hermione didn't move. Alicia sighed.

''I'm fine, Hermione- just get ready for the Ball... Victor will like your robes'' Alicia's voice sounded dead. Hermione walked back over to her bed, staring at Alicia's scarlet hangings and tripping over her trunk.

''Are you sure your okay?'' She asked, picking up a bottle.

''I want to say yes but I can't...'' She said slowly, drawing the hangings back. Her pale eyes were framed by long, lank brown hair.

''What is it? What's wrong?'' Hermione said quickly, dropping the bottle and hurrying over to Alicia.

''I'm a monster...'' She muttered and Hermione shook her head.

''No your not! Why say that, Alicia?''

''Because it's true! I don't even know why I done it! I hate the boy!'' Alicia said, angrily.

''Who? Jamie?'' Hermione asked, frowning. Alicia shook her head.

''Malfoy! I've hated him since first year! Why! I'm such an idiot!'' She said, angry with herself again.

''Malfoy? Alicia, what happened?'' Hermione asked, totally confused.

''I was on my way to see America and Hedwig to send a letter to mum and dad... He walked past me and I ignored him. I sent the letter and was standing there stroking Pig when the door opened. I turned as he came up behind me. At first I was scared to find him that close but then I was angry... Then... I don't know what happened but I wasn't angry anymore- he kissed me... I tried to push him off but somehow I ended up kissing him back!'' Alicia cried and Hermione stared at her.

''Alicia, have you told Jamie?'' She asked eventually and Alicia nodded. ''Well?''

''He just walked away from me...'' She said quietly. ''He completely hates me...''

''Don't dramatize... Alicia, you need to find Jamie! Malfoy's not in his common room! I saw him bulling a couple of first years on my way here!'' Hermione said and Alicia looked up.

''You think he'll go looking for Malfoy?'' She whispered and Hermione nodded. Alicia scrambled off her bed and out of the room. Hermione watched her go and then returned to her own bed to get ready for tonight.

''Don't ever touch her again!'' Jamie shouted as he stood in the courtyard.

''What I do has nothing to do with you!'' Draco shouted back as he stood opposite Jamie. A small number of people were standing round them.

''It does when you kiss my girlfriend!'' Jamie shouted and a couple of people whispered to each other.

''Well, it doesn't help that she kissed me back!'' Even more whispers flew round the two boys at Draco's shout.

''I know Alicia! You cursed her or something! She told me how she didn't know what was happening!'' Jamie shouted as the large oak doors burst open.

''JAMIE!'' Alicia shouted, pushing through the now quite large crowd. ''Don't! He's not worth it! Leave it!''

''No, Alicia!'' Jamie shouted, pulling out his wand. Draco done the same and Alicia stepped between them, casting wandless shield charms.

''Yes!'' She said, her brown hair turning black. ''I'm telling you to leave it! Put the wand down and walk away!'' She ordered. Jamie's wand dropped a few inches and Draco seized his chance. He shot a spell towards Jamie but Alicia's shield charms were still in place.

''Coward!'' Draco shouted and Alicia turned to look at him.

''Why don't you go and crawl under a rock? Your the coward! You have to curse someone for them to like you! No one here needs to that!'' She shouted at him, pulling her wand out of the top of her dress.

''Alicia!'' Harry, Ron and Ginny ran down the stairs and battled their way through the crowd.

''Alicia, look at yourself'' Ginny said and she lowered her wand.

''That's right. Now, choose one of us'' Draco said smirking, flicking his wand slightly.Ginny nudged Harry as Alicia stared at Malfoy.

''He's cursed her!'' Ginny whispered angrily. Harry watched in horror as Alicia took a step towards Draco.

''Jamie! You need to speak to her! Talk to her and she might snap out of it'' Harry said and Jamie nodded.

''Alicia- try to fight it! Come on! Please...'' He shrugged at the others. Ginny rushed towards Alicia.

''Alicia! Think about it! Try and think around the curse! Look at Jamie! Look at his face! He's the one who really loves you!'' Harry and Ron noticed that when Ginny said Jamie's name, Alicia stopped walking.

''Jamie needs you, Alicia! Remember about Jamie!'' Hary shouted.

''Jamie loves you! Jamie! Tell her!'' Ron said, looking at him.

''Now and forever! Remember? Now and forever! That's how long I'll love you, Alicia! Remember when I told you that? Back in first year? Now and forever!'' Alicia turned to stare at him, blinked slowly and then rushed towards him. The crowd round them cheered and clapped while Draco sulked.

''Oh, and one more thing...'' Alicia walked towards Draco, who watched her greedily. She stopped in front of him. ''For cursing me in the Owlery...'' She punched him in the face. ''For kissing me...'' She punched him again and he fell to his knees. ''And for cursing me just now...'' She kicked him in the stomach. ''And lastly, for trying to make me choose between you and Jamie'' She flicked her wand and his left leg became rubber. All the bones had vanished from his entire leg. ''I'm sure Crabbe and Goyle will help you to the Hospital wing... Think yourself lucky that it wasn't anything painful...'' She said, waving at him as she stepped over his leg. Jamie, Harry, Ron and Ginny followed her. ''You three can't come! Ginny and I have to get ready for the ball!'' Alicia said, stopping the three boys on the marble staircase.

''Alright... See you down there... Love you'' Jamie said, kissing her.

''Now and forever'' she replied, smiling as she and Ginny walked up the stairs.

The Two Shouldn't mix


Alicia and Ginny found Hermione sitting on her bed. Waiting for them.

''Well? How'd it go? Did you find him?'' She asked as Alicia rummaged through her trunk for her dress.

''Well... Malfoy cursed her again and then Jamie snapped her out of it and now Malfoy's laying in the Hospital Wing... Apparently, he's still going the ball though'' Ginny said as she opened the package in her hands. A pretty golden coloured dress fell onto Alicia's bed.

''Malfoy's in the Hospital Wing?'' Hermione asked and Alicia nodded.

''Done the same as what Lockhart done to Harry's arm but to Malfoy's leg... Couldn't help it'' She smiled, her jade dress in the arms.

''I shouldn't of asked...'' Hermione said, shaking her head and smoothing the front of her periwinkle dress.

''Don't you three look lovely...'' Fred said as the three girls walked down the staircase.

''Thank you... You look hamsome yourself'' Alicia said, a smile on her face.

''I better be going... See you down there'' Hermione said as they headed towards the couches.

''Hi, Neville... You ready?'' Ginny said as he came down the stairs. He nodded and they followed Hermione out of the common room.

''Alright, Pavarti?'' Alicia said as the girl walked past.

''Waiting for Harry and Ron... know where they are?'' She said and Alicia grinned.

''I'll go check...'' She said as she headed towards the boys dorm.

Knock Knock

''Yeah? Oh, hi Alicia... You look really nice'' Ron said as he cracked the door open an inch.

''Gee, thanks Ron... Tell Harry that Pavarti's waiting for him downstairs...'' She said, pulling at one of her scarlet curls.

''Right... Thanks, Alicia'' Harry said, pushing Ron out the way and down the stairs. ''Ron, you need to come too...'' He called and Ron followed him with a rather glum face.

''I'll wait downstairs, Jamie'' Alicia said, sticking her head round the door.

''No, I'm ready...'' He said and walked towards the door.

''You look like you dressed in the dark... Come here'' Alicia laughed as she walked into the room.

''Ron's right, you know... You look beautiful'' Jamie said as she sorted the collar of his robes out.

''Thanks...'' Alicia smiled as Jamie swept a curl behind her shoulder.

''Do I look decent enough for you now?'' He joked and Alicia narrowed her bright blue eyes.

''Not funny... You always are'' She said, letting a smile slide onto her face as Jamie kissed her cheek. ''Let's go down and have something to eat...''

''Honestly, Alicia, why did you choose him?'' Alicia's hand clenched and unclenched beside her.

''I don't see why you need to ask that, Malfoy! It's a simple enough answer!'' She said fiercly and Malfoy smirked.

''Why won't you answer the question?'' She snarled and he laughed again.

''I don't see why it matters, Malfoy... It's over and I didn't choose you!'' She spat and he advanced towards her. She backed herself into the side of the fountain.

''I'm warning you Malfoy, back off or I'll make you legs match'' She threatened, nodding towards the leg that tightly bound.

''Accio wand'' He said lazily and her wand flew towards him. He caught it and placed it in him pocket.

''Alicia? You out here?'' Ginny's voice called from somwhere nearby.

''Yeah, I'll be back in soon...'' She called and Malfoy grinned. ''Give me my wand, Malfoy'' She said, worry rearing up in her stomach. The anger that was pulsing through her wasn't enough to drown out the panic of being wandless surrounded by several Slytherins.

''No, I don't think so... You won't be needing it'' He laughed as the group round her advanced again.

''Ginny, you seen Alicia?'' Jamie said, catching the redheads arm as she passed him.

''Um, she's outside somewhere... She said was coming back in later...'' She said shrugging. Jamie walked down the stairs and into the rose garden. The sound of tinkling water met his ears and then the sound of laughter from an approaching group made him stop and listen.

''It deserved what it got- choosing that of me'' Jamie's fist clenched as Malfoy walked past him and into the castle. Jamie started to walk through the bushes when he stumbled into Harry and Ron.

''Alright? You seen Alicia? She came out here when you started arguing with Hermione...'' He asked, looking at Ron. They shook their heads and Jamie carried on walking.

''Alicia?'' He called as he reached the fountain.

''Over here...'' He turned and stared at her.

''I'll kill him... I really will kill him'' He said, rushing forwards to help her to her feet.

''Please don't... Just leave it... It's just a couple of bruises! Just let it go'' She pleaded as she let him lead her towards the castle.

''Well, next time there's a ball, ask me first and not as a last resort!'' Hermione shouted as Jamie and Alicia climbed through the portrait hole.

''OI!'' Alicia shouted as Jamie lowered her into a chair. ''Can you just shut up! Seriously, you two are getting on my nerves! First it's over a sodding rat, then it's over the tournament and now it's over something petty! GROW UP!'' She shouted at them. Then the fighting started.

Ginny came down then next morning to find Harry in one corner, Ron in another, Hermione in the corner by the window and Alicia by the fire.

''What happened?'' She asked, walking towards Harry.

''We all had an argument yesterday...'' He said, watching her look around the others.

''Over?'' She said and Harry shrugged. ''Really? You don't know why you argued?'' Harry shook his head and Ginny left to talk to Ron.

''I'm guessing you confronted Hermione about going with Krum?'' She said and he nodded.

''She didn't take it too well'' He said and she nodded.

''I guessed... And why were you arguing with the others?'' He shrugged and she made her way to Hermione.

''Well?'' She said, sitting down and Hermione stared at her.

''Well what?''

''Don't act stupid, Hermione... Why were you arguing?'' She said and once again, the only answer she got was a shrug. She sighed and went to talk to Alicia.

''Hi, Ginny... Before you ask, we argued because I told Hermione and Ron to grow up and it just kicked off after that and the bruises on my face are from yesterday when Malfoy cornered me with a group of his friends and attacked me...'' She said, not looking up from the essay she was working on.

''Right... And what was the kicking off bit?'' Ginny said, sitting down and watching Alicia's hand move across the page.

''I sort of started it off by saying that Ron and Hermione fight over petty things and then things got out of hand... Harry brought up the Malfoy thing and Jamie started saying that it was none of his busniess what happens between him, Malfoy and me... Ron and Hermione were shouting about something stupid and then we just stopped and walked away from each other'' She said calmly, rubbing her arm and wincing as she caught a rather large bruise.

''Alright then... So, Harry and Ron are talking still?'' Ginny said, glancing at the other three.

''That I know of... Harry's still talking to Ron and Hermione but they're not talking to each other... None of them are talking to me or Jamie...'' She said, shrugging and looking up at Ginny. Her face was covered in cuts and half of her face seemed to be a bruise.

''Talking about Jamie, where is he? He's the only one I haven't questioned'' Ginny said, looking round the room.

''He's gone to try and find out if McGonagall can get my wand off of Malfoy... Don't ask'' Alicia said as Ginny's eyes widened.

''Oka then... Maybe you should be there with him... In case he finds Malfoy...'' Ginny said and Alicia nodded.

''I didn't think of that actually... I'll see you later'' She stood up and walked out of the common room, throwing looks at the others as she went.

''Just give it back, Malfoy!'' Jamie said as he followed the Slytherin through the corridors.

''Don't know what you're talking about'' Malfoy laughed as he turned round to face him, Alicia's wand in his hands.

''JAMIE!'' Alicia slid down the banister and landed just behind him. ''I said leave it! I'll sort it out!'' She said quickly, pulling him round to look at her.

''Fine... Go on then'' He said, glaring at Malfoy over her head. She turned to look at him.

''You had your moment of glory, now give me my wand back'' She said calmly and he twisted it in his fingers.

''Make me...'' he laughed and Jamie's fist balled up.

''Don't tempt me'' He snapped and Malfoy laughed again.

''Calm down!'' Alicia said, putting a hand on his arm. ''But he has got a point though, Malfoy... Don't tempt me... I owe you and your friends a few things'' She said, pointing to her face.

''I feel slightly sorry about that, you know... It slightly ruins your pertty looks'' Alicia snarled at him for half a second before changing tactics. ''Draco, please just give me my wand...'' She said softly. Both Jamie and Malfoy stared at her.

''Using first names now?'' Malfoy sneered as Jamie threw Alicia a confused look.

''Yes... Draco, I'm sorry for whatever I've done to upset you... I'm sure you know that I didn't mean it'' She said, stepping forwards.

''We'll see how much you mean that last statement... You and your blood tratior-'' Jamie stiffened as Malfoy motioned to him with his chin. ''Meet me in the forest tonight and we'll see who's that forgiving'' He spat before putting the wand back in his pocket and disappearing into the crowd.

''That's it?'' Jamie said as Alicia turned round, her face set.

''You heard him... Meet me in the common room tonight and we'll go down to the forest'' She said, walking away from him.

''This feels like punishment for fighting with the others...'' Jamie said and Alicia shrugged.

''I'm going to aplogise... We need them for this... He's not going to be alone and we could use the cloak'' She said and he agreed.

If You Go Down To The Woods Tonight

Only Idiots Fight Fair


Alicia stood in the middle of the moonlit clearing. Jamie was watching her from beside Hermione, Ron and Ginny, who were standing in the shade of a large oak tree. Harry was pacing backwards and forwards.

''Harry, just stand still...'' Ginny said as he went to turn around again.

''Do you remember the plan?'' Jamie said lazily and they all nodded.

''We stay hidden until Alicia says'' Ron said slowly.

''Harry, Ron and Hermione go to help you and Alicia while I go to Hagrid's for help'' Ginny said, twisting a lock of hair in her fingers.

''It's the same stunt he pulled in first year...'' Harry said suddenly and they all looked at them apart from Alicia. ''We turn up for the fight, he tells a teacher and we run so that we don't get caught... He's stitched you two right up'' Harry added, looking at Jamie.

''It's not...'' Alicia said quietly and they all stared at her. She'd been quiet for a while now. ''No one's been stitched up... He want's this fight- because he want's me... He thinks that if he wins I'll change my mind... Get under the cloak, he's coming'' She said, turning round and staring through the trees.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny huddled close together as Jamie threw the cloak over them, before returning to leaning against the tree.

''You're late...'' Jamie said calmly as Alicia's hair turned a dark brown and Malfoy stepped into the moonlight.

''I'm surprised you let Starlight turn up...'' Malfoy sneered and Jamie shrugged. Malfoy threw Alicia's wand towards her and she caught it.

''Even if she did tell me not to come, I would of...'' Jamie said, watching as Alicia glared at the Slytherin. ''Not alone, are we?'' Before Malfoy could speak, Alicia laughed coldly.

''Don't be silly... He needed a gang of Slytherin to attack me when I had no wand... Crabbe and Goyle are behind the tree...'' She said and Malfoy stepped forwards, the two thugs appearing behind him.

''Not just a pretty face, then...'' Malfoy said as he drew closer to her.

''And look what you did to it...'' She said quietly. Harry and Ginny swapped looks from under the cramped cloak.

''I am sorry about that...'' Malfoy said softly, reaching out and touching the bruised side of Alicia's face. Jamie stood up straighter as she flinched slightly.

''You should be...'' She whispered, closing her eyes.

''I'd walk away if I were you...'' Jamie threatened and Malfoy took a step backwards. Alicia opened her now startling red eyes.

''What plan?'' She spat, crossing her arms. The moonlight made the bruises there look worse. Malfoy smirked.

''Me and your blood traitor-'' He said, motioning to Jamie with his chin. Jamie stiffened. ''Will fight this out while you stand there and look pretty... Don't worry, Crabbe and Goyle will make sure you stay there...''

''Over my dead body!'' She snarled, drawing her wand. ''Harry! Ron! Hermione!'' She shouted and the three teenagers slipped out from under the cloak, leaving Ginny still hidden underneath.

As the duelling started, Ginny ran.

''Hagrid! Open the door!''

''Ginny? What are yeh doin' outside this late?'' Hagrid asked, openeing the door of his hut to find Ginny backing towards the forest.

''Alicia sent me! She's in the forest, duelling! We need to stop it!'' She said as Hagrid grabbed a lantern. ''She's going to kill them! Hurry up!''

''She's gonna kill who?'' Hagrid said walking behind Ginny as she ran ahead of him.

''Malfoy! She'll kill him! He attacked her at the ball!'' Ginny said, now trying to keep up with the gamekeeper.

''LET ME GO!'' Alicia shouted as Crabbe's arm tightened round her chest, pinning her arms to her sides. Harry and Hermione were keeping Malfoy busy while Jamie tried to get Goyle off of him. Ron was out cold in a corner.

''PROJECTO!'' Malfoy screamed, reflecting a jinx from Harry towards Hermione. Harry ducked as a streak of light flew low over his head.

''OW!'' Alicia shouted as something cracked. She went to kick out but Crabbe dropped her and she hit the floor, her leg making a snaping sound as she landed. ''OW!'' Crabbe laughed as he kicked her broken leg and she screamed.

''Hermione, can you ditch Malfoy and help- Argh! :arg:'' Jamie said, stopping his sentence as Goyles fist made contact with his nose.

''Petrificus Totalus!'' Alicia screamed, pointing her wand towards Goyle, who became as stiff as a board. Jamie pushed him off of him and got to his feet.

''Alicia! You okay?'' He said, ducking as Malfoy shot a curse at him, which hit Hermione in the chest, making her fly backwards.

''Perfect! We're having tea- WHAT DO YOU THINK!'' She said, twisting round as Crabbe went to kick her again. ''Petrificus Totalus!'' She screamed as the frozen Crabbe fell onto her leg.

''I HEAR FOOTSTEPS!'' Harry shouted, relief flowing through him. Malfoy blocked the last jinx, turned and darted into the trees.

''STUPEFY!'' Alicia shouted and they saw the red beam illuminate the trees before hitting Malfoy square in the back of the head.

''Are yeh all alrigh'?'' Hagrid said, skidding to halt as he burst through the trees with Ginny right behind him, red in the face.

''We'll be fine... Alicia's leg's broken though...'' Hermione said, helping Harry roll Crabbe off Alicia's leg. She winced but kept quiet.

''Ennervate...'' Alicia mumbled, waving her wand in Ron's direction. Ginny ducked as the green beam flew towards her. ''Opps, sorry Ginny'' Alicia said as Ron started to stir.

''When Ginny said yeh'd been attacked, I didn' expect this much damage... Yeh look a righ' mess, Alicia'' Hagrid said, picking her up and putting her on her feet. Ginny and Hermione held her steady.

''Gee, thanks Hagrid...'' Alicia said, rolling her eyes. Jamie tried to smile but the broken nose Goyle as given him made it difficult.

A Party At Home
Time To Celebrate

Alicia blinked and started laughing.

''What?'' Jamie asked, smiling. He was happy to see her smiling again. Ever since she had come out of the Hospital Wing with her leg and rib healed and the bruises gone, she hadn't talked much.

''Emmett want's to throw us a party to celebrate getting through another year alive... You'll all come right?'' He said and they all nodded. ''He's got the theme as A Time To Celebrate'... Hey, Pavarti!'' Alicia said suddenly, standing up and walking towards the girl who has just entered the Common Roo. A few minutes later, she was back.

''What was that about?'' Ron asked and Alicia rubbed the back of her neck.

''Well, I asked her to ask her sister to send my condolences to Cho... This has affected her the same as it affected Harry...'' The group fell silent.

''It's really happened, hasn't it?'' Ginny said quietly. Alicia and Harry nodded. ''He's really back, isn't he?'' Harry's face said it all.

''I'll write to my parents tomorrow and tell them what's happened... And to tell Emmett that the party's off...'' Alicia said but Harry shook his head.

I am slightly confused. I get it that they are talking about Voldemort coming back and killing Cedric Diggory. Have you skipped something or was it always them in fourth year about to to the third task?

Edward - Alicia's youngest brother and Alice's twin.

I like how this story is going, though I have to ask you..... now that Cedric is dead () please please don't make Harry do anything with Cho.....it was bad enough reading it at the actual book.......I HATE CHO!!!!!!!!!! She wasn't good enough for him, Ginny is soooooooo much better!!!!!!!
