Back To Hogwarts…



“Alright then come on, lets get going” called out Harry as he got up from the table at the Burrow three days later.
The girls were to leave for Hogwarts today. The girls went and hugged Molly and talked to her for sometime. Ron shook his head
“mum, they aren’t leaving you and going forever. Before you know they will be back by the end of the term” he said
Molly nodded and let go off Sara.
The four of them got into a car and then after about 45 minutes they reached the station.

As they reached the barrier between platform number 9 and 10 they saw Shaun there
“There you are mate, thought you had your day at training early” Ron said and thumped his back
“well, my day will start within say about an hour from now”, he said
“So lets get going?” he asked and Harry nodded and he and Ginny walked ahead then Hermione and Ron walked in together and then Sara stepped behind them and pushed her trolley through the barrier and soon after her Shaun appeared slightly dazed. She couldn’t help but smile a bit. She looked up and saw the red engine standing there right in front of them blowing its steam in the air adding to the noise of already noisy 9 three fourth platform.
Sara stole a glance at Shaun. They hadn’t yet talked from the last time when he left her at the cemetery. Shaun looked back at her and gave her a small smile as he remembered their own school train which was in deep blue color with the school’s emblem engraved on the front and name inscribed on it above the emblem.
Sara smiled back as she revisited her memories.

They moved ahead and walked near the train. Sara moved away from Shaun and walked towards the train door and waited for Ginny to clear the way after she was done picking up her luggage. As she was picking up her bag and placing it on the footboard Shaun moved ahead to help her but Ron was just there to give her a hand. Shaun stood back. This wasn’t missed by Hermione.

As the girls came back from placing their luggage’s in their compartment they chatted up with Ron, Hermione and Harry while Shaun stood far away silently. As it was almost time for them to leave Sara looked at Shaun who had been quiet all this while, she walked towards him. He looked up at her. She just watched him and didn’t know what to say. It had never been so odd between both of them, but somehow things were becoming really odd now. Shaun decided to speak for the first time.
“um…well…I guess its your time to leave now?”
And she nodded
“take care of yourself” he said. She looked at him and nodded
“enjoy your final term, don’t work too hard that you end up in hospital wing” he said and she looked at him surprised and then he looked at her and spoke
“I haven’t forgotten our 5th year Sara” he said and gave a small smile and she smiled back, blushing a bit.
“don’t worry I wont end myself up in Hospital Wing” she said
“good…and keep in touch” he said looking into her eyes and she mutely nodded
“I will”
He nodded. The train blew its steam and she looked back as she saw Ginny hugging her brother.
She turned back, her eyes were slightly panicky as if she would either miss her train or the other way round as if she would be forced to leave Shaun in few minutes…Shaun didn’t realize what was wrong with Sara. He narrowed his eyes a bit but then continued
“um…Sara”
“yes”
“about that day…I…I am sorry…I am sorry that I behaved with you like that and left you on both the times” he said and Sara sighed and shook her head
“no, its alright Shaun, its alright. When I left you people for so long I guess you guys have the right to” she spoke but she stopped looking at Shaun’s reactions. His eyes went wide and he shook his head
“No, don’t say that. You left us for a reason Sara don’t say that. You saying this sounds as if you made a mistake” he said
“yes it was a mistake. I shouldn’t have left. I should have let Rahul be on his own and then maybe he would have come back” she said her voice soft barely audible over the noise on the platform. Shaun stepped a bit closer and placed his hand on her shoulder. Sara looked up at her best friend.
“Listen Sara, if it hadn’t been for you I would have gone after Rahul. You don’t know how much I cursed myself to let you go in the middle of the war all alone to look for a werewolf” he spoke Sara began to speak but he didn’t allow her to shook his head and she fell silent.
“you didn’t make any mistake and this was where you were to be standing, this was where I would have been standing with you, here. Its destiny” he said softly
“but Rahul…” she began
He cut her again
“and I know Rahul is alive” and she sighed
“you are” she got cut again
“I am not in denial” he said
“but that doesn’t mean that I have to behave badly with you because you believe otherwise”
“you didn’t”
“yes I did, and I am very sorry for that” he said
“Sara!” Hermione called out from the crowd. Sara turned back to see Hermione
“come on lets get going, we don’t want you to miss your train” Shaun said and grabbed her hand gently and led her through the crowd.
Ginny was just saying a um…long good bye to Harry and Ron was swearing.
Shaun raised his eyebrow and Sara giggled and then blushed for the first time looking at Ginny and Harry together.
After Ginny and Harry drew back Ginny told Hermione “Hermione will you pay back on my behalf to him?” she asked and Hermione blushed and nodded
“Sorry?” Ron asked
“You see Ronald, I don’t have time for a bat bogey hex for all the swearing you did so I think Hermione can take care of that” she said and Ron went red. They all laughed.
Sara hugged Hermione and she said
“I bet you wont be using Bat Bogey Hex, will you now Mione?” she asked and Hermione went red again and gave a slight shake of her head for a ‘no’. Sara smiled and then hugged Harry and Ron and Ron whispered as she hugged him
“do let me know whether you have a detention from the head boy or not” and she nodded. Shaun who was standing close to them heard it. As she went to hug him Shaun asked
“now, have you gotten yourself into detention, Miss Mehra?” he asked his voice light and in teasing tone and Sara smiled as she drew back
“um…don’t know, but did something which might lead me to one” she said
Shaun turned serious again
“careful” was all he said
“I will be” she said smiling. She looked at him as if she wanted to tell him something more and he noticed it.
“you want to say something?” he asked and then there was another blow from the train. She shook her head
“nothing,” she said and stepped few more steps back towards the train
“just that…bye…take care” she said and hopping on to the train somehow feeling happy and smiling widely. Something had just changed in those last few seconds which she couldn’t figure out but she was feeling all happy nonetheless. She waved to the other three
“see you at the end of the term” she called out over the noise and just then the train began to move and Ginny and Sara stood there at the footboard waving back to their friends as they left for Hogwarts yet again...maybe the last time as students…

That was super great Harita! I love your writing. You give your characters such appeal it makes it hard to pick out who my favorite character is. I think Sarah is, but ecryone else is wonderful also. I was quite angry for Shaun leaving Sarah at the grave site. But, now!!!!!! I'm all excited with the touch of magic and wonder Sarah felt those last couple minutes with Shaun. It's not her imagination either. I felt it also. See what a great writer you are. Great post. I'll be watching for your next one.

A Meeting Fixed…


The month of January passed by at Hogwarts and the students once again got themselves busy in their academics and sports and enjoying the cool end of the winter season…

It was the beginning of the second month that Ginny got a letter from Harry which made her very excited.
“what’s up?” asked Luna as Ginny, Luna and Sara were walking down by the lake.
“Harry will be coming to Hogsmeade on the 2nd Saturday” she said excitedly. Sara looked at Ginny amused
“what’s so…” but she was cut
“Valentine’s day” Luna stated the obvious
“oh, forgot that” Sara said
“so very much excited indeed?” she asked and Ginny nodded her head as they sat at the edge of the lake. The girls talked for a while and then got up as sun began to set. As they walked they were approached by
“Roger?” stated Sara
“hi” he said
“bye, Roger” Ginny said testily and pulled Sara with her and Luna began to follow.
“Ginerva could you stay out of this” he said firmly
Ginny stopped turned around and walked a few paces and looked straight into Roger’s eyes and spoke
“had you not been from Gryffindor Roger, I would have put you in detention and knocked half of your points” she hissed. If looks could kill Roger by now would have been buried 6 feet below the ground already. But
“Reason?” he asked simply
“Troubling a fellow student” she whispered back dangerously.
“Ginny, leave it” Sara said her voice requesting and pulling her gently. But her voice was now replaced with firmness
“What do you want Roger?” she asked
“Why is that if I ever come to talk you think I want something from you?” he asked
“Because I know it” she said simply and shrugged. Its not that she knew what he wanted but when someone comes to you, you usually end up asking what do you want, well that’s very common, isn’t it?
“well…I just wanted to ask if you would like to come with me for the Hogsmeade trip?” Luna smiled as if she knew this would come, Ginny hissed and Sara’s face had a disbelieved look on her face. Will this guy never get tired of asking her at every chance he gets?
He looked at her for sometime taking in her reactions and then shook his head
“you don’t need to tell me now” he said
“you can tell me even on the day of the trip about your answer, I will be waiting” he said and then walked past the girls with a small handsome smile that certainly would have made girls like Fiona’s heart melt but certainly not Ginny’s or Sara’s for some reason…


The entire dinner time Ginny was shooting daggers at Roger while he silently looked back at them and smiled. He particularly wasn’t enjoying Ginny’s behavior so he always ended up glaring back at her but while at Sara he would always give one of his melting smiles and all Sara could do was roll her eyes.


“Idiot” she murmured as Ginny and she were sitting on the carpeted floor in the common room and studying as she saw Roger smile at her again and wave before he left for the boys dorm for the night.
And just then the fire from the fire place began to hiss. Ginny and Sara looked up. It was already well past midnight and fortunately not many people were around.
“who do you think it is?” asked Sara
“dunno” said Ginny and just then they saw raven headed, bespectacled young man’s face there
“Harry!” she exclaimed and hugged him
“Breathe” warned Sara and Ginny let him go and chuckled
“Sorry, but seriously Harry what are you doing here? I got your letter if that is what you want to know” she said
Harry smiled
“glad that you got it” he said
“So is the answer yes?” he asked
“Very much” she said grinning and he nodded smiling brightly himself. Then he turned to Sara
“How are you doing Sara?” he asked
“oh I am doing fine” she said
“and your studies?”
“going on very well, thanks Harry" she said looking slightly suspisious as to why he was asking but she bent down and continued with her astronomy charts.
“Shaun wanted me to check on you though” he said and Sara couldnt help but roll her eyes but deep within her gut she felt a slight flutter and felt her cheeks go warm suddenly but she ignored it.
“well he also wanted me tell that, he would be coming to meet you this Hogsmeade trip” he said and Sara looked up at him.
“why?” she asked
“well, I don’t know either” he shrugged maybe you know, just to meet you he said shrugging and Ginny smirked which was certainly missed by Harry and Sara.
“he just told me that he wanted to meet you and asked if you could take sometime out of your studies and come for Hogsmeade for that Saturday” he said and Sara shook her head and smiled
“alright tell him I will be there” she said and he nodded and then turned to Ginny and they both talked as Sara busied herself with her homework. She could gather snippets from their talk that Hermione and Ron will be there too along with Shaun at Hogs Head at 12 in the noon. Sara found the place for a meeting very weird and she had a hunch of something odd happening but she didn’t dare to ask.
‘Come Valentine’s Day and I will know what’s all this about…. patience…’ she thought and bid Harry bye as he vanished from the fire…

Hello Harita, What a wonderful post. I surely do love this story. I have a question. Is Easter celebrated a different time over there? Here in the states Easter is celebrated in March, sometimes April. But at any rate, I can't wait till Valentines day, and Roger better not show up and try to spoil things with Sara and Shaun. I don't think she's whispering so nobody hears her, sometimes those whispers are the most venemous kind. And Ginny delivered it well. I wonder what this is about.Great post Harita, I'll be watching for your next post. Hope it's soon!

The Valentine’s Day…


It was 2nd Saturday already and Ginny was very much excited on prospect of spending time with Harry again just after a month. She got up that morning and took quite sometime in deciding on her dress for the day and then in the end she dressed up in pale shaded blue narrow jeans and deep blue woolen tunic and boots to keep her warm from the breezy and slightly colder spring morning. She left her hair open and brushed it properly. She grabbed her coat just in case she will need it and checked herself in mirror one last time and headed towards the Great Hall for breakfast…


Breakfast was slightly an unusual sight because everywhere Sara looked, all she could see was shades of pinks and reds and she was seriously going to get sick of the color. She was glad Ginny wasn’t in the bandwagon of wearing pinks and reds even if she was to go on a date with her boy friend.
“No, doubt he likes you for this” complimented Sara as they at last walked out of the castle entrance
“likes me for what?” asked Ginny
“for being different then the rest” Sara said and Ginny smiled
“thanks”
“I seriously cant take these pinks and reds anymore” Sara complained as she got into one of the coaches.
“well I think I have enough red on me to be wearing more red be it Valentine’s day or not” commented Ginny about her Weasley inheritance and Sara chuckled and shook her head but Ginny continued
“but this is nothing, just see what Hogsmeade will be like” and Sara’s eyes widened with shock
“much worse than this?” she quizzed. Ginny nodded and gave a sympathetic smile and Sara groaned.


As they reached Hogsmeade Sara didn’t understand why Ginny said much worse because everything seemed to look normal. When she pointed that out to Ginny she smiled and replied
“wait till you enter one of those” she said pointing at the shops and Sara shook her head
“alright, guess I will have to bear all this” she sighed and Ginny chuckled
“hey come on, it aint that bad” she said
“yeah, yeah”
“no seriously it isn’t that bad, for both the people with valentines as well as those without” she said
“Those without? How does that work?” she asked her eyebrows raised.
“Oh don’t worry about that, you already have someone waiting for you” Ginny reminded and Sara rolled her eyes and looked around
“I am glad I haven’t met him yet since morning. He has been eating away my head past the entire week” she said as they walked towards the Three Broomsticks.
Ginny giggled. Ginny certainly wasn’t talking about Roger but about Shaun. She and Hermione had noticed the very small things that went between Sara and Shaun during the holidays. They had first dismissed it as mutual feelings coming out on meeting after long time but certainly the long bye at the King’s Cross Station had their minds working…
“hey what was that for?” asked Sara
“nothing, just that you seemed to be very much irritated by that guy” she said coming back to pretending that she was talking about Roger.
“oh yes I am and I thought so were you!” she said crossing her hands against her chest and narrowing her eyes at Ginny
“oh yes I am, very much but just that its fun to see you get so worked up by some guy” she said and giggled once again and Sara rolled her eyes
“anyways, me going now. Harry will be waiting. Have a nice day and yeah 12 o ‘clock at Hogs Head” Ginny said and Sara nodded then waved and turned to push open the door of the Three Broomsticks…

The Valentine’s Day…Continued…



Ginny entered Madam Puddifoot’s highly and excessively but yet prettily decorated with valentine colors coffee shop. There was a tinkle of a bell as she stepped in and Madam Puddifoot hurried towards her and asked her to follow. A surprised Ginny followed her. After few seconds she entered a beautifully and soberly decorated private chamber of sorts. Madam Puddifoot hadn’t entered the chamber which had made Ginny worry but now she realized why.
Well, her date had certainly made quite a huge effort to make this day very special for her. She walked to the middle of the room and looked around and slowly turned around in her place to take in everything that beautiful room had to provide her with. All the memories captured by the camera were put up in beautiful frames and memorabilia and Ginny couldn’t stop smiling. The walls were covered in glittering gold and white satin and with slight tinge of pink somewhere and it all looked pretty and sober and lovely. There was a particular flowery fragrance mixed with slight tinge of scent which she knew was Harry’s and the very sense of smell made her smile, her heart beat race and her face blush and her arms long to hold him. As she was busy looking at the pictures of her and Harry together she heard
“How is it?” and Ginny turned to see Harry just step out of the small fireplace that the private chamber provided
Ginny ran to him and threw herself at him and hugged tightly and he hugged her back
“you don’t know how happy I am” she said breathing heavily as she hugged him and drew herself back a bit looking into his emerald green eyes and her mind raced to what Fiona said once ‘don’t go dreamy eyes about green and black’ and Ginny chuckled and shook her head and Harry looked at slightly amused but didn’t ask her why she chuckled.
“You liked it?” he asked her once again and she nodded affirmatively
“Loved it” she said and he smiled back. He brought his hand up to her face and lifted it slightly so that he could look into her beautiful brown eyes. As she felt his hand holding her face and lifting it up to look at her it sent a warm tingling sensation all over her face and neck and down her spine. She looked into those mesmerizing green eyes of his and got lost in them completely and stretched up a bit to kiss him. Harry bent down the same time she reached to kiss him and his lips met with hers. The sensation that ran through each of their bodies was soft and warm and somewhat inviting, butterflies fluttered in Ginny’s stomach and Harry’s heart flipped with every little movement of her lips on his. As the kiss deepened Ginny’s hand automatically found its way towards back of his head and tangled her fingers in his thick black hair and his arm snaked around her waist and the other one holding her face. They felt their bodies on fire as each of them expressing their deep love and emotion for each other in the kiss that they were sharing.

After what seemed like hours they drew back a bit but still stayed close in their embrace and looked at each other, their breath slightly ragged but a happy smile playing on their lips.
“Happy Valentine’s Day” he whispered against her lips
“Happy Valentine’s Day to you too” she replied softly and smiled looking up at him.
“Butterbeer?” he offered
“Sure” she said chuckling and then they made their way to the couch and spent the rest of their time snuggling with butterbeers in their hands and talking and laughing and having a wonderful Valentine ’s Day together…




While back in London Hermione was getting nervous about the meeting. No it wasn’t about the meeting what Shaun had talked about. This was something else.
Hermione was pacing up and down in her bedroom of her house in muggle London.
She had invited Ron over to her house for a little breakfast. While breakfast was just a small reason for her to make Ron and her parents meet. It wasn’t that Ron hadn’t met her parents and vice versa. They had always met at some account or the other during their school days but meeting Ron as Hermione’s boyfriend was all together a different thing.

And just when her tension was at the breaking point she heard a doorbell ring and she jumped up and almost tore open her bedroom door and rushed through the living room to get to the front door. Mrs. Granger who was in the kitchen looked at Hermione rush and couldn’t help but smile at her daughter’s nervousness.
Hermione opened the door to see an already deadly nervous Ronald Weasley standing there holding a package.
“Ron!” and she bear hugged him and he held her and laughed a bit
“easy Mione, you don’t want to present me to your parents as a dead body right?” he joked and she slapped his back hard
“oww…” he cried
“you deserved it” she said still hugging
“alright, alright sorry. Wont say it again”
“Better, much better” she said and then drew back and looked at him for the first time properly. He had shaved and tried to put his mop like hair in proper order but it did stick out at some point. She giggled and ran her hand through his hair and so that it stayed properly and fortunately it did, not like Harry’s. He was dressed up in a button down light blue shirt tucked in his dark blue jeans and black shoes and he no doubt looked impressive. Personally she liked Ron with slight stubble, casual tee and faded jeans and his running shoes on. That was her Ron but he seemed to have taken care of looking very neat and prim and proper in front of her dad and that amazed her as to how much he wanted her parents to like him.
“Hermione, have you done inspecting me?” he asked his tone was becoming slightly nervous again.
“oh, I am admiring you Ronald” she said smiling and giving a small peck on his lips and he turned red once again. She looked at him waiting for the same reaction and then chuckling she grabbed his hand gently and led him inside the house.

Ah, Harita! This was so sweet! Very well written, and sooooo romantic! Harry and Ginny had a wonderful time, and Hermione and Ron's meeting was precious! I'm sure everything will go very well for them, what with Ron dressing proper for the occation. LOL He does sound very handsome doesn't he. Now, next we see Sara and Shaun hopefully. I am really anxious to find out about their meeting. I'm hoping there aren't any intrusions on their visit. very well written Harita, and I still love your story very, very much. This part I especially liked. So beautiful, and romantic!

About Time For The Meeting…



Whoosh…and a coughing young raven headed young man appeared at the fireplace of the Hogshead. Aberforth Dumbledore looked at the young man.
“Potter?” he asked
Shaun shook his head
“No, his friend Shaun Macmillan, Harry told that I would be coming here. we have a meeting” he said and Aberforth nodded and then with a wave of his hand told Shaun to leave and find a comfortable place for his meeting while he, Aberforth left the main pub area himself. Shaun didn’t understand what was wrong with the old man but he left him alone and walked towards a table with six chairs around it.
‘perfect’ he thought and then sat down with his hands clasped on the table. He checked his watch it was 11:50 already and his friends had be here any moment.
And within 5 minutes the door opened and Harry stepped in with Ginny. Shaun looked up and nodded as Harry found him sitting. It wasn’t difficult to know where he was sitting because he was the only person sitting in the old worn out pub.
“what an awesome place mate” Shaun commented and Harry chuckled.
“the best I could find according to your description for a meeting place” he said and Shaun shook his head and then smiled at Ginny
“Hey Ginny, how are you doing?” he asked
“great” she beamed as she sat down
‘no doubt’ he thought and gave a side grin. He knew that Harry was up to something for making the best Valentine’s Day ever for both of them.
Shaun looked around and then asked
“Ron and Hermione?”
“they should be here by now” Harry said looking at his watch it was almost 12 now. He walked around.
“They are on a date?” Ginny asked
“um…yeah with Hermione’s parents” said Shaun and reclining back on the chair relaxing.
“What!”
Harry stopped walking looking at his girlfriend exclaim and Shaun gave an amused look.
“yeah, Hermione invited Ron for breakfast at her muggle place so that she could officially introduce Ron to her parents as her boyfriend”
“wow…all these developments and I am not even told about!” she said crossing her hands across her chest and pouting which made Shaun laugh and Harry kissed her head.
“But you know now, right?” he said but that didn’t change Ginny mood.


It was already around 11:50 and Sara had been walking around through the Hogsmeade. She had to buy some of her stationary for her school and then few sweets especially box of dark chocolates to keep her awake during her night studies. Her bag was pretty full already as she walked through the crowded Hogsmeade Street. She was fortunate enough to have been able to duck away and mingle in the crowd and move away from Roger on two incidences. And wanting no more such embarrassing situations to occur Sara quickly walked towards the end of the Hogsmeade where Hogs Head was situated.

By the time she reached the end of the Hogsmeade and she could see the old worn down pub amidst beautiful wintry spring flora it was almost 12. She hurried her pace just to be thrown back hard on the ground.
“ow!” she cried as she fell down. She looked up and around. She was thrown back by an invisible barrier. She got up and dusted herself when she heard a distinctly familiar voice
“Hello Miss Mehra” and Sara turned to see Yaxely standing there
“oh its you” she spat
“yes me” he said and walked towards her. Two other of his cronies behind him with his stupidly grinning girlfriend
“what do you want?” she asked lazily but her hand already at her wand underneath her cloak.
“well how about revenge?” he asked
“revenge? For what?” she asked innocently
“for breaking my nose you cow!” blared his girlfriend from behind who stepped in front
“oh, I thought you would be thankful to me to shorten your extremely long nose which sticks in other peoples business” she said
And that enraged Yaxely and his girlfriend even more
“you…”
“IMPEDENTIA”
“PROTEGO” and Sara deflected it quickly with skill
“Ralph I want her hurt badly!” she almost demanded
“Cant fight for yourself, can you pig?” asked Sara
“How dare you call me that!”
“I dare you EXPELLIARMUS” and she cut the other spell coming towards out again.




Harry was pacing in front of the window of the Hogshead and suddenly heard Impedentia hex. He turned immediately towards to look outside the window
“Holy Crap” and he rushed out of the pub.
Shaun stood up immediately knocking the chair almost as he hurried towards the window followed by Ginny.
Harry was there within seconds where the duel was taking place and sent a strong protecting shield that knocked off all three of them who were dueling against Sara.
The head boy stopped at the sight of the Boy Who Lived
“So here you are” he said
“Yes”
“Was thinking where you were, heard you were on date here with Weasel. Don’t tell me you ditched her”
Sara looked from Yaxely to Harry she was panting slightly.
“Yaxely, you better get going before you speak crap and I beat the hell out of you” he threatened. His eyes were dangerous enough even from those round glasses. Harry hadn’t forgotten those marks over Ginny’s hands which he saw few months back. He so wanted to take Yaxely down for it but today wasn’t the day and now wasn’t the time for it.
Yaxely watched Harry with his wand yet aloft and taking the sign he turned and grabbed his girlfriend by her waist and left with his cronies.
“Thanks Harry” Sara sighed
“Don’t worry, come lets get going” he said. She nodded


Here's today's post...yeah i know always some drama around Sara......

Hello Harita! Great to read another wonderful post! Hmmm, I wonder what's up with that! I am so curious to find out what this meeting is about! hehehe, A bit of your real life put in here? How wonderful! A brilliant sentence added at just the right time. Uh-oh! What's he think he's going to do? Why is he pestering Sara? I think this is my favorite line of the whole post! Get 'er Sara! :hack:Well, you can't have her! Yeah, Thanks Harry! My hero to save the day once more. Although, Sara was doing ok on her own. Still, three to one might eventually take it's toll.

The Letter…


Shaun was furious and saw the group of 5 retreated and just then he spoke to Ginny his eyes not leaving the troop.
“Ginny move away from the window”
“why?”
“just do it” he said and she hastily moved away and then Shaun cast a hex on one of the cronies walking beside the main guy.
Yaxely stopped as Rookwood was hit by a hex and by the look of the hex he looked around at the source and didn’t see anyone there
“Weasel” he hissed

“What are you doing?” Ginny asked as she saw Shaun doing a complex hand move
“I am right now making this window appear invisible to people outside. They will think its only a wall here” he said
“How? But why? And why did you tell me to move?” she asked
“Because I hexed one of the guys”
“with Bat Bogey Hex”
“Oh, that’s my signature move”
“Then all the more important for you to stay away” he said as he was done with his work and turned to walk back to his seat. Ginny just nodded but just then Ron and Hermione appeared at the fireplace and the door bell tinkled as Harry and Sara entered. Ginny squealed at seeing Hermione and Shaun walked towards his friends.
“what’s all the commotion?” came a irritated voice
“Ah, Dumbledore old man…” said Ron and went and hugged him
“Git” he murmured as he just patted Ron’s back little
“what do you want?”
“a bit of butterbeer for the school girls and bit of firewhiskey for the rest” he joked and Aberforth grunted.
“Aberforth” Harry said respectfully and gave a small nod and Aberforth replied the same way.
The youngsters huddled around the table and sat themselves at the table after all the his and hellos and hugging and discussion of the latest duel which ended with a perfect bat bogey hex.
“um…so…what are we gathered here for?” asked Sara and everybody fell silent.
Sara looked straight at Shaun and he looked back. The rest couldn’t certainly make out what was happening while Harry knew what it was about. It was just last night when Shaun was re-reading the letter that Harry came in and see a worried Shaun who told him what would be the meeting about…
“well, it should have been something just between me and you, Sara but I think rest of our friends too have the right now what’s happening” Shan spoke up
Sara didn’t get what he was telling and that clearly was expressed in her face.
Shaun looked at everybody and then at Sara again and then continued
“I received a letter sometime in last month from Juhi” he spoke and Sara’s eyes went wide but then changed into a serious look. She realized that she had forgotten about her . No, not exactly she did remember her but she didn’t know how she would reach her to tell her about Rahul.
“She is Rahul’s girlfriend” he continued as he got confused looks already from others.
“And?” asked Ginny.
But Shaun just took out the letter from his cloak pocket and passed it on the table
“Have a look” he said directing it to Sara. Sara looked at him a bit worried, a bit anxious. She slowly took the envelope and took a parchment out and flipped opened it to read:

Dear Shaun,
Hi. How are you doing Shaun? Its been so long since I have actually kept in touch with any of my friends, especially those who have left the country.
I do meet the rest of them at my work place but nothing’s remained the same though after everything that’s happened. The war was horrible but the aftermath seems to be devastating.
But I am writing this letter to give you some news…
One is a good news and other is a bad…I couldn’t myself believe something like this would happen. Never did I think this would happen. But then I think it all is the after effects of the war we had which just makes us believe and accept the most unbelievable and unacceptable things.
But I would like to tell you the good news first.
The good news is well…the best of the best news that could ever be…for you, for all your friends and for me of course…I couldn’t contain my tears when I saw him, Shaun.
Rahul is back. Yes, he is. He is alive and he is back but he was in bad condition though, his werewolf condition taking toll over him and the marks and the scars that the war left over him are difficult to heal. He looks much older then he already is.
He just stopped by at my house one weekend when I was home and my dad was out on his work.
I let him in and saw that he was in very bad condition. I took him in and saw to it that he was fine and recovering back. After 2 weeks somehow people found out that Rahul is back and the Ministry officials and aurors are behind him. I begged him to stay back but he refrained. I am very much scared right now but I know he will make through it. When he could survive the war he can survive this chase I know. I trust his capabilities. But I didn’t understand why they were after him. But it wasn’t difficult to find out why, well news spread quickly that I had tended to him and the officials came crashing down my door. They demanded where he was and I told them I had no idea and they threatened to torture me if I won’t tell them where the werewolf/traitor is. I stuck on what I said but later in one of the arguments I came to know that they are after Sara too…
I just can believe these people are searching for her and Rahul and have marked them as traitors. Traitors, for all sorts of unimaginable charges, traitors for leaving in the middle of the battle while they should be catching those dark arts followers who escaped while their way to the prison. I tried to reason out with them, tried to explain them what and why they actually left but they weren’t listening.
They are making Sara and Rahul scapegoats to divert the attention of the people to somewhere else. I was afraid for Sara when Rahul came one night to tell me something about that…I, I…am very, very sorry to let you know this news in such a manner. I know how close you were to her Shaun. And it pains me to break this news to you. I know she had promised you and her brother that she would come back and we both feared that she never kept her promises but I don’t know what to say now, because she kept my promise but she couldn’t keep yours and Karan’s. I am really sorry to tell you that she is no more, Shaun.
She was killed in a duel that is what Rahul told me. I didn’t want to believe him, I don’t want to believe him either Shaun but I don’t know what to do. I just thought that I should let you know because you deserve to know about her first…

But Sara dropped the letter and did read further and she looked shocked and pale at Shaun. He looked back at her, her hands on her mouth. He didn’t know for what she was reacting
“He is alive” she whispered and Shaun nodded mutely. Hermione grabbed the letter quickly and Ginny got up and walked over to Hermione to read the letter…


Just wanted to drop in and post...was feeling bored...my exams arent done yet...have last one to go on monday...

Hello Harita. I read this just after you posted it, but am just now getting to comment. I'm sorry. I hope you don't think I gave up on your story. I would never do that. I love this story! Very smart! I'm so glad Shaun made this decision. Everybody has done so much to help Sara and to exclude them from this very important news would be wrong in my opinion. Does this have to do with the reason Shaun and Sara left their country? I mean, I know Sara left to find Rahul. But why Rahul left in the first place. I can only imagine how Sara must be feeling reading this letter! Awe! This is wonderful! She is so happy with the news of him being alive to be upset with the news of her being said to be dead. And the fact that the ministry is looking for her and Rahul. She is so special. A very loyal friend. Now, I'm wondering how they will keep the ministry from finding her. It seems politics are the same all over!

The Reaction...


“I told you didn’t, I Sara?”
“I told you he would be alive, I knew all way long he would be fine and survive” he said with a small admiring smile. He knew his friend; he wouldn’t leave them so early. He was made out of much stronger stuff even with his werewolf condition. He was the strongest person Shaun had ever met. Strong in every way possible, strong mentally, strong emotionally, strong will power, strong passion and very strong affection, love and protection for his close and dear ones, though he hardly looked strong physically because of his condition, Shaun knew Rahul’s capacity. But yet knowing his capabilities Shaun was very much worried about his current condition because he was on a run again and that pained Shaun a lot. His friend was paying a lot for his genuine protective nature. This caring and protective nature of his had made him see so many hardships. Shaun looked at Sara once again; she had put her head down on the table and wrapped her arms around herself tightly.
Shaun looked at Harry and Ron who gave him sympathetic pats on his arm while the girls looked just as miserable as Sara was.
After what seemed like hours the silence broke when Sara spoke up sniffing.
“I want to go back” she declared
“leave the school and all?” asked Ron incredulously and Sara looked at him as if he would never understand her.
“you cant” Shaun said
“I don’t care” she said defiantly.
“you should” he said looking back at her in the eye
“I don’t care Shaun, I don’t know, but I want to go back. I have stayed away enough, I have taken enough of crap and troubles. All I want is go back home!” she cried
“you don’t know how I miss Karan, my dad and now Rahul is there too why should I stay here?” she demanded
“because”
“don’t start the destiny crap!” she thundered
“I am not” he blared back now standing up with his hands balled in fists on the table.
“I knew you would do this, Sara, wouldn’t you?” he said leaning ahead on the table.
“Haven’t you read the letter properly with your brain open?” he asked
“they have marked you as traitor!”
“Didn’t you hear, I don’t care”
“You should!” his voice an octave more then hears, the rest of them looking from Sara to Shaun and then back to Sara.
“you go there, you will be on a chase; you go there, they will be behind you like mad dogs behind meat; you go there, you cant meet anyone…I doubt even Rahul; you go back there your chance of meeting your brother and father will be as good as your chances now…here; you go there and by chance you meet any of them, they will be interrogated to the point of torture, didn’t you read what Juhi wrote! Is your mid so clogged with idea of stupid adventures!” he had crossed the line
“don’t you dare speak to me like that” now Sara was up and standing breathing deeply and flushed
“I never liked the idea of adventure during the war, Shaun Henry Macmillan! You very well know my reasons for leaving the school and I know I am not a traitor and I don’t need to tell and give explanations to others for my actions”
“Sara, Sara please calm down” Harry stood up and walked to her and made her sit down and gave her a mug of butterbeer
“Harry” her tone indicating not to mess with her now.
“Sara, please”, he coaxed her and patted her shoulder gently to calm her down and went back to his place while Shaun had moved away from his seat and was pacing up and down. There was pin drop silence. After sometime Shaun returned back to his seat and put his head in his hands and then rubbed his tired eyes. He had real bad time since the letter arrived and he knew he would have even worse trying to reason out with Sara. But he knew that if Rahul has told Juhi this then this would be his information for anyone and everyone else who would ask about Sara. This would be the information which they would have to follow to keep Sara safe. But will she try and understand for once and let others help her? will she for once stay back and not put herself in danger and look at safety of herself first and then the others?


“Look Sara, you can’t go” Shaun started now in much more calm voice.
“I want to” she said in a much calmer voice but with firmness
He sighed
“Please try and understand Sara, you going there and searching for him again wont make any sense. You will only put yourself in trouble and if Karan comes to know about it too he won’t be spared. The officials will target him even if he is in school and remember he hasn’t finished his school yet, Sara” he said
“But, I ”
“Cant you see?” he continued
“that Rahul wants you to stay where you are or else why would he have told Juhi that you are dead when he very well knows that you are alive.”
Shaun wasn’t sure because he hardly knew Sara’s side of the story at all.
“he knows you are alive right?” he asked for confirmation.
He saw her nod.
“yeah, I met him couple of times, during the war and after the war” she said
He looked at her as if giving her the cue to continue. He was shocked to listen to Sara’s entire story as to how she worked with Madam Rosmerta and how she came to live with the Weasley’s and how she got into Hogwarts, and how all along she searched for Rahul. He shook his head of all the information he got to hear but keeping his head clear he spoke up again
“He knows you are studying here at Hogwarts?” he asked
“he might” she answered back looking down.
Shaun nodded
“then it becomes clear doesn’t it, that Rahul wants you out of harms way. He wants you to stay where you are, safe” he said
“because believe me Sara, these people aren’t great. They are I can say just a couple of shades lighter then the dark arts people” he said
“I know what my parents and I have gone through, I know what Ali has gone through and what our other friends are going through” and Sara looked up as she heard Ali’s name
“Ali? What happened to him? what happened to you and your parents?” she asked worried.
“Long story” he said
“But coming to point it isn’t safe for you to go back. They mean business, they see you, they chase you, they catch you, and they charge you and throw you in prison for the rest of your life” he said
“Is that what you want?” he asked
“Is that what you want for your brother’s sister to happen? Is that what you want of Rahul’s confidante to happen? Is that what you want of my dear, close friend to happen? Is that what you want of Juhi’s best friend to happen?” he asked and Sara knew she was losing against him and she shook her head. The four of them looked from Shaun to Sara and then back to Shaun. The girls knew he had won because Sara wasn’t talking back while the guys just sat silently in their own thoughts.
“no, I want to fulfill my promise to my brother and see Juhi once again, I don’t want to leave you but…but I want to see Rahul again” she said looking back at Shaun.
“You will, but not now Sara, not now. There will be a time for you and believe me Sara at least you got to see him between when you must have coaxed him to come back but I, I haven’t met him since the last time we said goodbye” he said his eyes boring into hers as she looked at him speak those last words…

Hello Harita. I'm so happy your computer problems are fixed and you have returned. I've been missing you very much, and I'm so glad you was able to post. You did wonderful showing us that our sweet quiet Sara, has some grit in her, and has a firm mind. I am however sooooooooooo thankful that she has calmed down, and is going to think more clearly about not going back. I loved this part! She didn't have to yell at himj, or get in his face, but just sat still and with her tone of voice was able to make her point. Are they ok? Will we find out what happened to them?

Very powerful and emotional post, and very well written. I'll be watching for your next, and good luck with the Goblin Awards. You're very deserving to win.

A Rough Day…

*cough* *cough* and Hermione looked up from her book to see Harry emerging out of the fireplace of his apartment.
“ ‘evening Harry” she said brightly
“ ‘evening Hermione” he said smiled and his eyebrows raised as he saw Ron half asleep with his head on Hermione’s lap. Harry shook his head.
Harry walked into the kitchen to get some chilled butterbeer cans and then returned back and sat on his favorite couch
“hard day, hard day all throughout” he said shaking his head and taking a sip.
“How about you?” he asked Hermione
“oh had a hectic day too. Had meeting after meeting to attend and run around with notes for Mr Diggory. But it was a very interesting day, you know” she said and Harry couldn’t help but smile. It was Hermione’s habit of pointing out the best out of each day’s work even if all she did was running around from meeting to meeting and taking down notes for her boss.
“and how about Ronikinns?” asked Harry and Hermione chuckled as she looked down at the pleasant faced Ron sleeping.
She looked at his hand which was slightly looking red with burns
“well had a little bit of troublesome day today working over something” she said
“but will be alright” she said and just then Shaun emerged coughing.
He came a fell hard on one of the arm chairs.
“butterbeer?” asked Harry
“thanks” and Harry threw another can of it towards Shaun who opened it and took a large gulp of it
“looking very tired” stated Hermione and Shaun nodded
“horrible day”
“looks like everyone had, what’s your story?” Harry asked “couldn’t be that bad” he joked.
“3 hours of making potions with Malfoy just in the next corner, couldn’t be that bad right?” he said and Harry chuckled
“ok, I guess I understand your plight”
“thanks, and then transfiguration theory for Merlin’s Sake! I mean what are we training for? Teaching students?! What are we going to do with all the theory stuff with no practical to do!”
“well to know the practical you should know the theory” pointed out and Shaun just shook his head not ready to argue with Hermione. He ran his hand through his hair. Ron stirred and opened his eyes to see his friends sitting and talking around
“hello there sleepy head” said Hermione and Shaun and Harry rolled their eyes.
Ron woke up and sat up and rubbed his eyes and smiled stupidly at the rest which earned him a smack with a cushion thrown by Harry
“wha!” he said sleepily and the rest laughed out. They continued to laugh and talk and goof around and Shaun silently retreated and stared into the fire
“Shaun?”
“Hmm?”
“what’s up?” asked Hermione.
“Nothing” he said not taking his eyes off the fireplace.
“Alright lets lighten up his mood” Ron said smiling
“How’s your girlfriend Honeybourne, Macmillan?” he asked. Shaun ignored the comment and then shook his head
“She found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her” he said
“what? You? Ron started confused “when were you her boyfriend? I was just kidding…I didn’t…”
“its not me, idiot… Zacharias Smith” he said still looking in the fire and Hermione rolled her eyes and Harry snorted.
“what?”
“that guy’s a git” Harry stated
“I know”
“no, really. He was a nuisance to us anyway” Harry continued
“yeah, right pain in the…” but he stopped looking at Hermione raise her eyebrow
“who was he with?” asked Hermione turning to Shaun again.
“Someone named Susan Bones” he said shrugging and Ron laughed
“Ron” Hermione said and rolled her eyes.
Shaun shook his head
“Cathe is in mess” he said running his hand through his hair and looked in the fire but the concern in his voice wasn’t missed by the bushy haired girl.
