YUUUSSS! I've rooted for those two in a lot of fan fiction... and sometimes things ended up with no D/ Hr! That was really sad. =[
It's not my favourite ship either, but I think it's WAY better than H/ Hr. Of course, I've seen some writers execute even H/ Hr brilliantly, so it all depends on the writer, I guess. STILLL! =DD
Blaise/ Luna? I've never thought of that! Blaise/ Ginny is one of the ships I adore best, and I did an SS50 thread on them, quite a while back. But Blaise/ Luna - that's really unique, where did you get the idea for it, bebeh? I need to think about it! <3

Chapter #3
The Coming of Destiny

“Between time, space and energy, there is a unity of relationships.”

To expect Malfoy to treat her with some dignity would have been a grave mistake – Ginny did not commit it. The white-blonde seemed, if anything, more inclined than usual to taunt the living daylights out of anything and anyone that he came across during the meeting, and Ginny had a feeling that it had something to do with the fact that Hermione was Head Girl and, in that sense, someone who equalled him.

Clearly, Draco Malfoy did not like being paralleled.

The prefects had shifts at patrolling the corridors, and Ginny rolled her eyes as Malfoy drawled that the first was hers. This meant she would miss the food trolley and, while Neela might save something for her, Ginny knew her taste in food did not exactly match with her friend’s. She glared at his stupid, handsome face for a second and, suddenly realizing that he expected her to complain – and had, probably, a taunting comeback planned, in case she did – snapped “fine, you git,” and marched off.

“Manners, Weasley,” he drawled after her. “You don’t want to spend your first week, writing lines.”

In the act of slamming the compartment door in his pretty face, Ginny paused. “And what are you going to make me write?” she asked coolly. “I must not punch the breath out of a head boy who looks like that bug the cat brought in yesterday? Oh wait, that doesn’t sound nasty enough.”

Malfoy smirked. “No, Weasley,” he said, clearly indifferent to being compared to a half-eaten bug. “How about ‘I must buy a new trunk to stuff my hand-me-down robes in’?”

“Shut your face, Malfoy.” She moved so fast, it was a wonder her punch missed. Malfoy stepped easily to the side, looking rather amused. “Don’t try, Weasley,” he drawled. “Because it’s a wonder you can walk without tripping over those abnormally large feet, in the first place.”

“You –” she stalked off.


The corridor was, of course, not quiet. Ginny walked lazily down its metallic-plastic, brick-red floor, a bottle of home-made Pumpkin juice in one hand, and a considerable amount of sweets stuffed, alongside her wand, in a back pocket of her jeans. It was raining lightly outside, a pleasant surprise, and she heard a few yelps of joy as she passed a compartment, but nothing unusual.

She came, in time, to the point where the compartments ended. This was the place where the back door of the Express was situated and, next to it, the back wall. The door had been fastened shut, and the roar of the engine was particularly loud in her ears. Ginny stood there, listening to the grrr of the train as it rattled up a track between narrow mountains, until a cold voice jerked her back to earth.

“You’re supposed to be patrolling the corridor, Weasley.”

She looked up, made a face. “Get out of my face, Malfoy.”

“Know what, Weasley? I’d love to tell you to get out of my face too, but you’re supposed to be on duty so I’d rather tell you that I have every right to tell you to get out of my face. Go patrol.”

Git. Ginny did it on impulse, did it without really meaning to – perhaps because she remembered how she had not managed to punch him, last time they had been face-to-face, perhaps because she remembered how he had taunted her for it. “Stupefy!”

A jet of light shot out of the tip of her wand with such force, it surprised her. Clearly startled, Malfoy ducked in hazy confusion, and her spell hit the wall behind him, deflected, and came back her way.

Ginny ducked too, and the spell ended up hitting the latch of the train’s door. There was a click as the door flew open, though the little sound was immediately drowned by the noise of great gasps of wind whistling into the Express. The train rattled on, and Ginny gave a little scream of terror as she lost her balance, and began to slide out of the train. Malfoy’s eyes were huge and, suddenly realizing he would probably have to serve a life-sentence in Azkaban in case she died, he grabbed her hand before she fell outside.

Then several things happened at once.

Ginny’s drew back her hand (first impulse – Draco Malfoy holding her hand? Ewww), he began to slide out with her (courtesy her awesome first impulse), she suddenly realized she would probably become train fodder if she let go of him (oh no!), grabbed back at him (Must. Not. Die.), managed to catch the front of his robes (Thank God!), he nearly suffocated with the force of it all (“WEASLEY LEGGO OV ME!"), tried to free himself before he died of not being able to breathe (Azkaban was better than this) and, in all the confusion, the chain round his neck came off, into her hands.

The oval emerald pendant dangling from the chain opened with a click, something fell out of it and, before they could say anything, do anything, before they even knew it, the world was topsy-turvy and they were rushing, rushing through a whirlwind of air and no air and suffocation.

Thank you. Once again, all credit for the quotations goes to the awesome Denis Postle. && yes, that is what the quote means - in a way, his Head-Boyship is what 'causes' the story. In a way.

I searched through the books fan clubs on fanpop, and saw the Dramione one. I got curious, entered, and already started liking Dramione. Then I read the fic The Unseemly Propose by sprax on Mugglenet. Then I immediately began liking HP again, and even became an HP fan ^___^

To be totally honest, I think H/ Hr lacks chemistry. But yes, Cassandra Claira made it an AMAZING read, and she was actually the one I had in mind when I said that some writers can make this ship worthwhile.

Plus, she had D/G which is one of my favourites.

Not really! Another FF would defo be too much for me to handle, but drabbles are different. There's no real 'continuation,' so I can write whenever I want to, post whenever I want to - they don't keep me that busy, in other words. I can set my own 'timetables,' so to speak. ^^
