Chapter Thirty - Two (Extract)

He could see her, she was lying on a couch in a darkened room tied up as a prisoner but there was no cell. He felt sick and disgusted, he knew what Voldemort was planning to do to her, and he had to get her back. The vision was gone, the dark mark burned into his eyes and all the pain passed through him at once as he fell on to all fours and vomited. He took a breath, coughing and wiping his mouth on his sleeve. He used the wall to stand pushing away help from the professor. “I’ve seen her; she’s still alive, he keeping her like that until … until…” he couldn’t finish it; it was too hard to imagine.
“Where?” said the Hermione, Ron and Willow together,
“I don’t know, but im going to find her”
“No!” said Hermione, “He’ll kill you, let the order-”
“- He’ll deserve it” said Ron bitterly,
“I do and that’s why you’re both staying here, if I die he will release her I will make sure of it. I’ve failed her once im not going to let it happen again”
“Her name is Ginny” Ron said sourly,
Harry let his pain take hold. He pushed Ron up against the wall his forearm across his throat, with his body fuelled in rage he was stronger without effort.

Chapter Thirty – Two

Harry’s wand was moved to his temple. He moved it away and in a haze of grey mist the form of Voldemort stepped out of his body.

Harry felt like he was being ripped in two, his head burned, and his scar on fire as he screamed falling to the floor shaking at Voldemort’s feet. He whispered her name only to hear a chilling laughter in reply.

Harry could see what was happening, he was fighting to be free of Voldemort’s hold on his body, his brain thinking only of Ginny, and how sorry he was he had caused this. He could only watch in horror as he carried her away, dropping his wand close by. Why didn’t he just kill him now? But he knew somewhere deep inside this was the way to prolong his suffering. He would kill her and then him.

Voldemort carried Ginny’s body, to the tunnel, avoiding people and using invisibility, he like Dumbledore had no need for a cloak. For once stealth was the answer to capturing the enemy. To bring down Harry Potter without anyone noticing until it was too late for them to do anything about it.

He missed the scent of fear that hung in the air in his presence, the power of making people do as he ordered, the thrill of seeing them tremble and beg before he killed them when they got in his way. This was something that had to be done, no matter how lowly it seemed, but since his minions had failed he could only do it himself, they had ruined his plans for the last time.

The two men stood at the back of the room as there master came in and placed the redheaded girl on the couch. “Potter?” one asked immediately, and looked around as if expecting him to burst in at any minute.
“Lucius, if the boy somehow knows how to get here I will find you personally responsible”
“My Lord” he replied apologetically and bowed, stowing his wand away.
“Apologising is a sign of weakness I will not commend in my followers” he said simply as he placed Ginny on a couch in front of the large open fire place and used his own wand from a draw in his desk to tie her up.
“You have the Weasley girl…where is Draco?”Said Lucius
“Goyle returned weeks ago without him and Crabbe, haven’t they made contact yet?” said Snape, his eyes glancing over her unconscious figure, as he spoke to Lucius.
“Do not question me or Severus. If anything you would do well to interrogate Goyle again”
“Yes my Lord” Lucius replied,
“Leave me” Voldemort’s voice commanded and they nodded there heads in understanding, Snape and Lucius both taking one last glance at Ginny before closing the door.

He sat at his desk looking at her figure on the couch; she would make a fine addition to his followers. The pretty young pureblood, the lover of his enemy and the strong will of a woman older then her sixteen years. She would replace Bellatrix at his side, and he would make sure the boy would see it. He placed his head in his hands and opened the connection for what he knew would be one of the last times.

He couldn’t move and lay silently. He couldn’t cry. It hurt too much to feel so heartbroken to show others would make it worse. It became worse suddenly as he recognised the shoes and the voices running hurriedly towards him.
“Harry!” Hermione shouted and ran until she was kneeling at his side, “Harry, say something” said Ron as he knelt down beside Hermione. “What’s wrong?”
“Ginny” he whispered, he felt sick saying her name; he didn’t deserve to be able to say it.
“What about Ginny, Harry? Where is she? Where’s Dean?”Said Hermione hurriedly
“She’s gone” was all he could say, “she’s gone” he repeated. Hermione and Ron looked at each other confused, “Is she with Dean, Harry?”
He shook his head, “Vol…Vol…” He said, his voice strained, he closed his eye’s the pain was too much. “Voldemort” finished Hermione, tears streaming down her cheeks. His face screwed up in agony, his fists clenched and mind screaming loudly in his ears.
Ron was in shock, he was silent and then he snapped. He stood up and began to shout at him, Hermione still kneeling at Harry’s side.

“THIS IS YOUR FAULT, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?”
“Ron” said Hermione, “Calm down” she stood up trying to get him to look at her.
“NO HERMIONE, THIS IS ON HIS HEAD. IF SHE’S DEAD I’M GOING TO KILL HIM, SHE’S MY SISTER HE PROMISED TO PROTECT HER AND LOOK WHATS HAPPENED, SHE’S BEEN KIDNAPPED BY VOLDEMORT” he lost it completely and began kicking and punching out at Harry, still lying on the floor.

Harry felt each blow still coming even as Hermione pulled Ron away, the pain was good it was what he deserved for not protecting her, for putting her in danger, for letting her be taken.

“RON” she shouted but was pushed away by him before he grabbed Harry by the collar lifting his shoulders, neck and head off the floor.

“WHERE DID THEY GO? WHERE IS SHE?” he shook Harry, whose eyes were filled with tear’s he couldn’t let fall, “I don’t know” his body felt limp, he felt lifeless.”Ron, I don’t know” his eyes closed, his head was throbbing his heart beat was slowing down as Ron continued to hold on in silence.

Hermione got up and drew her wand, “Ron let go of him” she spoke calmly.

Another voice cut threw the air “Ronald Weasley, get away from him now or I will have to stun you” Professor Jacobs was standing next to Hermione with her wand drawn, looking fierce, as most of Gryffindor house behind her staring at the scene in front of them in shock.

Ron let go and stood up shaking in anger. “HE LET HER GO, HE PROMISED TO PROTECT HER AND NOW SHE’S AS GOOD AS DEAD” he drew his wand pointing it at Harry.
“Mr Weasley, put your wand away” Harry’s eyes opened looking up at him, he wanted it to end.
“No, professor” he replied quietly, his wand not moving from its target of Harry’s heart.
“Please Ron, give him a chance to explain what happened” Hermione stepped forward placing a hand on his shoulder, and putting away her wand. Ron turned around looking into her eyes, and as she pulled him sobbing into her arms the professor went to Harry.

He was lying on the floor, blood flowing from his nose and cut lip. His eyes were dead; his body bruising under his clothes and his heart breaking silently in his chest.

“Harry, tell me what happened, tell me where Ginny is”
He breathed in, the air escaping his lungs somehow. He felt sick and tried to say his name again but couldn’t, “Riddle” he replied at last, she knew what he meant; she was one of the few who knew his true name.
“He’s took her?” she replied and he nodded. She stood up and pulled him up with her, “Let’s go to my office, I’ll contact the order” she replied swiftly, fixing his nose with her wand and holding Harry up as she led the way, Ron and Hermione following on quickly.

“I CAN’T SAY HER NAME, IT’S KILLING ME EVERY SECOND I’M WITHOUT HER, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT HER, I LOVE HER SO MUCH AND NOW AFTER EVERYTHING SHE’S GONE AND IT’S ALL MY FAULT!” He shouted looking into Ron’s swollen red eyes.

“AND ONCE YOU’RE DEAD, SHE’LL BE BETTER OFF WITH OUT YOU!” Ron shouted back in reply, Hermione stood in silence shocked at what she was hearing; the professor was also unable to reply but was watching Harry’s every movement, the anguish and pained expression on his face.

“YES! I SHOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN CLOSE TO HER, I SHOULDN’T LOVE HER, ANYONE I LOVE GETS KILLED, YOU KNOW THAT AS WELL AS I DO, ANYONE I CARE ABOUT IS A TARGET”

He let go and stepped back his hands on either side of his forehead as he paced back and forth in front of Ron who was still against the wall “I’M TOO DANGEROUS AND IF THE ONLY WAY TO STOP ME IS TO KILL ME SO BE IT”

“Harry” said Hermione quietly, “Don’t think like that, Ginny loves you, she knows -”
“- HE USED ME HERMIONE; HE USED MY BODY TO TAKE HER, TO GET INTO THE SCHOOL AND RECOGNISE HER. IF I WASN’T LINKED TO HIM THIS COULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, IF I HAD LISTENED TO YOU ALL SHE WOULD BE SAFE” he shouted before lowering his head finally allowing the tears to take hold. It was silent and he could feel them dripping down his face and hear them splashing on the stone floor. He took a deep breath, summoned his remaining strength the thoughts of her pushing him forward, keeping him going as he left them standing in the corridor and ran to the dorms.

He went up to his trunk, grabbing a cloak, some money and his weapons throwing them into his backpack and put on his invisibility cloak. He headed in silence for the tunnel into honey dukes, passing Hermione and Ron with professors McGonagall and Jacobs as they walking in the opposite direction probably to try and stop him.

Great post. I feel bad that Harry feels that all of this is only his fault. Technically everyone else should have been watching Ginny and making sure nothing happened to her. Oh well, I hope Harry can kick Voldie-butt's butt. PAMS!!!!

Chapter Thirty – Three

Ginny’s eye’s opened slightly and she glanced around the room. She felt the ropes around her and knew she couldn’t move, and saw her wand on the desk him still sitting behind it.

“Good morning Miss Weasley” his voice was flat and indifferent. “I hope you’re not missing Potter too much” she felt a jolt of angst in her stomach, praying he wasn’t stupid enough to come after her but a part of her hoping he would. She didn’t want to die, not yet.

She stayed quiet and focused her eyes on the intricate carvings on the wooden desk; her mind seeing only Harry’s smiling face.

“You will answer my questions or you know what will happen of course”
“You can kill me, I won’t tell you anything”
He shot a bolt from his wand to her stomach without moving significantly, his face and manner remained the same. She involuntarily curled up in pain, forcing her self not to scream, not to show him any emotion that would cause him pleasure.
“Oh im not going to kill you yet, I want him to watch you die, to suffer more then he ever has and make him beg me to take his life”
“He won’t come for me, I told him not to -”
“Foolish girl, the boy lives only to save those he cares about, he commits himself to being a hero that is what has killed everyone who’s been close to him”
“You killed them, you killed them all and he’s going to stop you” she wriggled so she was sitting up not thinking about if he would strike out with his wand again but he didn’t.
“And how does he plan to bring me, the most powerful dark wizard of all time, to his knees”
“Im not stupid enough to tell you”
“Because it will not happen child, join me out of free will and I will show you and if you do not I will make you see it”
“Im not a child” she replied,
“I can see that out of all the things you are, that is not one of them”
“I will not join you”
“Even if it means, keeping your life?”
“I don’t fear death neither does Harry”
“That is a very ill-advised belief” she watched as his thin lips curled around the words his eyes never leaving her own, as they pierced into her soul. She didn’t reply and let him continue.

“Death is something to fear, a punishment to beguile and makes me as powerful as I am. If I do not kill those who get in my way what use am I to my followers, I do not questions my motives I have no reason to. I live for the power, the respect, and the pleasure of seeing others suffer as I rise above them and to make wizards become what they should, what they are. As supreme beings we have the right to come out of hiding and not be ashamed to see muggles for what they are, lower creatures that ought to be subservient”

“Never mind evil, your just mad” she regretted saying it as soon as the words passed her lips and she saw the angry face the red light as it hit her, forcing her and the couch across the room. She felt warmth, and wetness running down the side of her head, her ribs ached in protest as she moved on the floor, and her arm was bent awkwardly pain shooting through it as she willed her self to try and move it.

“If you will not join me, I will make you beg for death and I will make him watch as your life drains away from your body” he was standing over her, his crimson slits looking into her terrified eyes as tears fell, pain taking over and she blacked out.

Harry stepped out of the shop and into the sunlight of the morning. It was too nice a day outside considering what had happened, and he hated it. He walked swiftly to the hogshead; he knew where he was going now and had to focus.

The door was locked and he took out his wand with out hesitation. “Alohomora” he whispered and pushed it open quietly. He pulled off his cloak and searched the open room, his wand drawn warily as he heard footsteps coming down a staircase.

“Whoever’s there can leave now, I have my wand and im ready to use it” said a voice,
“Aberforth, its Harry Potter” he replied, and leant against the bar steadying himself it didn’t feel right to stand still he should be moving, finding her, “I need your help”
A figure stepped out of the shadows “With what?”
“I need a portkey to the prison, I can’t apparate its protected isn’t it?”
“Clever boy, but I can’t do that you’re a student at the school and by the looks of that bloody nose, you don’t have permission”
“I have to get there, I have to speak to a prisoner, im wasting time already I should finding her by now”
“Finding who?”
“You don’t need to know” Harry replied his anger building as Aberforth sat behind a table and conjured two glasses and a bottle. He lifted it up, and Harry read the label, fire whiskey.

He poured out two glasses as Harry stood his rage increasing every second Aberforth stayed calm.
“Have a glass, it will help”
“Nothing will help apart from you making me that portkey”
“I can’t do that Potter, im not allowed. Sit down and talk to me tell me what wrong”
“TALKING ISN’T GOING TO BRING HER BACK, MAKE THE PORTKEY”
“No” he replied simply, Harry paced up and down the room, his wand out in his shaking hand. He stopped suddenly and pointed it at him, “Help me please”
“Put your wand away boy” Aberforth replied taking a gulp, and crossing his arms.
“I’M NOT A BOY, I’VE BEEN THROUGH MORE THEN YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFETIME, YOU’RE JUST LIKE YOUR BROTHER, WHY WON’T YOU LISTEN TO ME? I NEED YOUR HELP, YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO THIS FOR ME”
“Why didn’t you ask Willow?” he said taking another gulp,
“SHE WON’T, SHE WANTS TO GO TO THE ORDER, I HAVE TO DO THIS, AND I HAVE TO GET HER BACK BEFORE…”The black snake slithered into his thoughts again its image burned on the soft skin of her arm. “…Before something happens to her” He grabbed the glass and swallowed the drink in a mouthful feeling it burn his throat and slide into his empty stomach not filling any of the void left behind in her absence.

“Who is she Potter?” it was a simple question he asked and her name formed on his lips. He tried so hard to get it out, to tell him. His left hand squeezed around the glass and it shattered in his now clenched fist. He saw the blood dripping on to the floor, but felt no pain. He raised his hand and pulled out a large shard of glass, the wound was deep and there were smaller pieces imbedded in his skin. He pulled them out as Aberforth conjured a bandage. He took the bottle of fire whiskey off the table pouring it on, cleaning the gash before wrapping it in the bandage. It would scar, another to add to the collection, but he wouldn’t be alive to let it heal.

“Will you help me?” he said stowing away his wand and adjusting the bag on his back.
“Will I regret it?” Aberforth answered,
“No just let me get her back, please” this was it for Harry if he said no he would have to go to Willow.
Aberforth poured the last of the fire whiskey into two glasses “One for the road” they drank silently, and Aberforth pointed his wand at the empty bottle, “Portus” the bottle glowed and Harry reached for it, “Thankyou” he said quietly before feeling that all to familiar tug on his navel and he landed, on his feet, outside the black box and immediately ran towards it, putting away his wand in haste.

“Where is he?” said Hermione, her eyes scouring the common room,
“He’s done a runner, I told you he won’t stick around for Ginny when everything goes wrong”
“Go and check the boy’s dorms im going to talk to the professor’s outside”
“Whatever”
“And Ron…”
“Yes Hermione”
“He loves her no matter what you might think, so gain control of your mouth” she replied before turning around and going to the door.
“Wait a minute, how can you defend him?”
“He’s my friend, he loves your sister and he didn’t do this on purpose, Ron you saw his suffering just as well as I did”
“But-”
“But what Ron, he loves her, he’s willing to die for her, trust him to keep her alive for your families sake and not his own”
Ron sighed and moved to go up the stair when he turned back and pulled her into his arms, “Im sorry, I just… she’s my sister… it’s so hard… I know I’d feel the same if I lost you”
“I'm not going anywhere, im right here for you and for Harry and Ginny when they come home, your all my family you have been since you both saved me from that troll”
She left as Ron went up stairs to check and she stepped outside to see the Professors talking hurriedly and quietly, she picked up on “Order”, “Potter” and “Molly” before they fell silent at her approach.
“Is he in there?” Asked the headmistress,
“No, Ron’s checking the dorms, but if he’s gone he’ll be wearing his cloak”
“We have informed the order of the situation, and Mr and Mrs Weasley will be in my office” Jacob’s looked at her watch, “Now” she finished.
“I think it best Mr Weasley comes with me, Miss Granger as well” said McGonagall, “Will you inform the heads of house lessons have been cancelled and every member of there house is to go to there common rooms, there will be no exceptions” She said to Jacobs who nodded and walked away, as Ron came out.
“He’s not in there and his stuff’s gone – the sword included”
“He’s gone after Ginny, and he’s going to find the last Horcrux” said Hermione quietly,
“Horcrux!” said the professor horrified, “He has created them?”
Hermione and Ron nodded, “Two left, one is you know who's snake the other is unknown” said Hermione, McGonagall composed herself and spoke again.
“Come we must go to your parents Mr Weasley” She led the way to Professor Jacobs office, the three of them in thought over what to do next.

Harry found himself outside the doors quicker then he thought and was glad to see two of the four guards the same as those he had spoken to before.

“What’s you business here young man?” Said one of the two female guards he didn’t recognise, when Liam spoke up,
“It’s Harry Potter, Cadence, he’s been here before”
“How do we know it’s him?” said Cadence, “I mean he could be anyone with a bottle of polyjuice and some of Potters hair”
“I came here before with Willow Jacobs, brought in Draco Malfoy and spoke to Reece, Jack, Caleb and Liam on the door as well as a Mr Keeling inside.” Said Harry hurriedly, “I called Malfoy an obnoxious git, after he said he was hoping to hear about mine and a certain Weasley’s death in the prophet – is that proof enough?”

Jack and Liam looked at each other and nodded to Cadence while the second unknown one spoke up.
“So you’ve been here before?”
“Yes, and im in a hurry now there is a life at risk, a life I care about to much to lose”
“Who’s life?” the inquires continued,
“Like I said, someone I care about, are you going to let me in or not?”
“What happened to your face?” She carried on,
“Can’t you lay off him Laura, he’s proven who he is, lets just let him in” Said Liam,
“We still need to be sure why he’s here” she replied, Cadence joining in saying “We need to know what prisoner you want to see, you may need security escort or clearance”
“I can’t tell you” Harry replied, “And my face is due to a worried brother, who will finish the job if I don’t get his sister back”
“We’re supposed to believe you?”Questioned Laura,
“Im the chosen one believe what you want but just let me in”
“Don’t tell me, your really Harry Potter and you know who’s kidnapped your girlfriend” said Laura doubtfully, “And now your going after her, with out the orders help”

“WELL YOU HAVEN’T BEEN MUCH USE SO FAR, I MEAN I WATCHED DUMBLEDORE, SIRIUS BLACK AND MY PARENTS DIE IN FRONT OF ME, WHERE WERE YOU ALL THOSE TIMES THEY NEEDED YOUR HELP, SO FORGIVE ME IF I DON’T TRUST YOU ALL TO HELP ME BRING THE LAST PERSON I LOVE, HOME AND ALIVE!” He shouted angrily at the four of them, his face red his stance aggressive.

Harry closed his eyes and took a deep breath; he could smell her perfume from where it was clinging to his clothes and watched as she swam across his vision for a second before opening his eyes again.
“Are you going to let me in?” he said in almost a whisper, “Or am I going to have to blow the doors of the hinges?” He drew his wand and pointed it at the doors, as they stood in shock watching him.

The doors opened and a familiar voice spoke from the entrance, “Let him in guys, we have orders from higher up the food chain” it was Caleb and he led him inside and straight to the cell he was looking for.
