|  A Love Lost - Sa13+
This is a one-shot Dramione-based F.F. I'm not good at 'sappy' (anything related really), or sad (without making it sound too dark)... but I tried my best this time.
I was like, totally watching this H/G vid along to the song What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts and that totally inspired me to write this. Like I say, first time trying to write something sad without making it sound dark (I always seem to do that... even without trying), so it might not be the best... and a tad sappy I think, and I'm horrible at sappy

Sarah A Love Lost
I saw it coming, I knew it was going to happen. I tried anything, everything to stop it, but it was too late, I missed my chance.
“Avada Kedavra!”
Those two words, so simple but yet so painful, were the ones that destroyed my life right then and there, they tore my heart in two as I watched my love flung across the trail and onto the ground, limp and lifeless. He joined the Order at the end of 7th year, supplying us with information that got us into this battle. Since then, we have been together, we became whole.
And those two words took it all away, a hole was left in my heart where Draco Malfoy had taken its place. He sort of stuck to me at first, becoming my friend, never calling me a mudblood or full of dirty blood and such, no, he had come to his senses. He dropped the bad nicknames, and within days of that, we became close.
But now, a year after everything changed, Draco lay on the floor, soul departed from the world. He was... gone.
Turning on the Death Eater that had killed him, I raised my wand hand in anger.
“Avada Kedavra!” I screamed. A jet or green light emitted in the area around. The curse hit its target. The last remaining Death Eater was hurled into a tree, where the sound of splintering bark and the thud of the body echoed in the roads of Godric’s Hollow.
As soon as the last Death Eater was down, I ran over the dead leaves and up to the side of my lost love’s body. I looked into his pale grey eyes and sobbed, letting the tears escape. The life had been stolen from him, the hidden fear had been lost, his expression just as plain. His words echoed in my mind, he said himself he would rather die than live without me in his life, how the last words I had heard him spoken to me was ‘If I get killed, just remember that I’ll always love you, I’ll take it to the grave. They may take my life, but they won’t take my love away from me.’
And looking into the face of Draco Malfoy, the caring, sensitive, passionate, loveable man I had fallen for, I had realized he was really gone. We were going to get married after the final battle, we were going to take the next step in life, take the inheritance that is rightfully his, live life together in comfort, have a son or daughter, we had started those plans the moment he gave the flawless diamond ring I still wear right now. I hugged his body, not wanting to leave this spot.
“Mione...?”
I barely heard the whisper, but I knew right away it was Harry hovering above me. A moment later he crouched down to my current height, lightly rubbing my back sympathetically.
“Are you going to be ok?” he asked softly.
My sob was muffled by my face being buried in Draco’s clothes. Harry stayed were he was, still caressing my back. I didn’t pay attention, I couldn’t feel a thing, I was numb to the world. All I felt was pain, the pain of loosing my love.
“We should go,” someone whispered behind me.
I heard Harry stand up. “Come on, Hermione. We need to go.”
I couldn’t take it, it might’ve been only a few minutes of arduous torture, emotionally torn, but it felt like an eternity of agony. I sat up a bit more, still beside Draco’s body, and I pulled out my wand.
“Mione?” Harry asked slowly, wary about what I was going to do.
I pointed it directly at my heart, knowing what I had to do.
“Hermione, no...”
I couldn’t take it, the pain had become a cloak placed heavily onto my shoulders, it became a cloak of despair. I had to do it.
“Avada Kedavra.”
