OMG, OMG, OMG!!! I missed the date!!! Of course, because of my carelessness, you guys will get a treat. I will post the next three chapters today!!!

Ottery, Connie, all those people who have hung on to thsi Fic till jow, I'm really very grateful to you all!!!! Thank you sooooo much for your kind support. I wouldn't have been able to get this far without you all!!!!!!

Unfortunately, my parents have told me not to come to SnitchSeeker anymore (i.e. quit SnitchSeeker ) so the three chapters that I will be posting today are the final three chapters of 19 Years later!!!!

But i want you all to know how much I enjoyed writing and it's all because you guys paid no attention to all those month-long gaps between my posts (LOL, I'm sorry for being soooo bad) and sticking through to the end.

Rose, Vanessa, Gabrielle, Albus, James and Scorpius were sitting in the Gryffindor Common Room, making plans for Jacob’s birthday party. “Jake’s birthday falls next week and I was thinking of throwing him a little surprise birthday party here, in the common room! What say, guys?” Albus started in his deep, debate-like voice.

“I say that’s a great idea, Scorp! But how are we going to keep it a secret?” Rose said, blushing slightly.

“You don’t have to worry about that! Just don’t discuss it in front of him! Now, I need to know what time we can have this party. Of course, everyone in Gryffindor is invited,” Scorpius replied.

“We can have it at around midnight, you know, like a midnight feast. Those who are awake can help us while the others sleep away. Of course, we also need to find a way to help Jake stay awake without getting suspicious,” Rose said.

“A midnight feast! Ooh, Rosie, I leave it to you to bring whatever food items you need. Now for the others--” Scorpius stopped in mid-sentence, thinking of the tasks he was going to assign to each of them.

Everyone was staring at Rose and Scorpius, smiling slightly, as they spoke to each other without arguing. Scorpius was excluding the others from the discussion but no one seemed to mind that. Everyone could sense the little something that was going on between Rose and Scorpius. James, the humourous one of the group, jumped at the word “others”.

“Jeez, Scorp, did you just say others? I wonder what you meant by that! You were having such a serious conversation with my cousin here, that I thought you’d forgotten Albus, Vanessa, Gabrielle and I are sitting here as well,” James joked, causing Rose to blush even more. Scorpius punched James in his belly. Rose just gave him one of her “looks”.

“As I was saying, James is responsible for inviting everyone without letting Jake know. Al, you will do all the decorations in the common room on the night of the party. Vanessa and Gabrielle… well, you can help Rose decide the menu for the party. Does that suit everyone?” Scorpius asked.

“It sure does. Now, I’ll just go check our time table and see what we have first on the morning after the party. Although, you think five days is enough to make all the arrangements?” Albus said.

“Oh, certainly! How long do you think you need? It’s just a small surprise party, after all. Now get to work, all of you,” Scorpius ordered.

“Yeah right, we’ll get to work as Mister Malfoy here, will sit and give orders,” Vanessa muttered under her breath. However, Scorpius was able to hear her and just as he was about to snap back at her, just as he spotted his father’s owl, Scram. Scram flew into the common room with a letter between his beaks. Scorpius gently took the letter and fed him some snacks. Then he folded the letter open and started reading it. It was from his mother. Scorpius smiled at first, and then tears filled his eyes as he finished reading it. He tried to blink them away but he couldn’t hide them from Albus and Rose.

Rose looked at Albus and then went to sit beside Scorpius. She put her hand on his shoulder as if to console him. ‘Are you all right, Scorp?” she said.

Scorpius looked up at her sadly, and tried to sound cheerful as he replied, “Oh yeah, my mother wrote that she missed me a lot and so does father. I miss them too, but I don’t feel like writing back to them right now.” He tried to meet her eyes but turned away immediately.

Rose looked at Albus, who was studying both their expressions, and both of them silently decided that it was best to leave Scorpius on his own right now. Albus went over to Vanessa and Gabrielle and asked them to go to the library with him. Both of them agreed and left Rose and Scorpius alone in the common room.

Rose hesitated slightly, and then quietly said, “Scorpius, I think you should tell your parents that you are in Gryffindor.”

Scorpius finally looked at her for one full minute. Both of them were silent for a while and then a tear rolled down Scorpius’s cheek. Scorpius buried his face in his hands and started sobbing. Rose was feeling really very sorry for him. She did her best to comfort him. She gave him a hug and tried to calm him down.

Finally, Scorpius stopped crying and said, “How will I tell them? What are they going to say? I’m not worried about what they might do to me. I’m just worried about how they’d feel when they come to know that I lied to them!”

“Write to them explaining everything and write what you honestly feel. I’m sure they will understand. Don’t worry, they are your parents. They wouldn’t want to hurt you,” Rose calmly said.

Scorpius wiped his tears and tried to swallow Rose’s words. Even though he was still scared to admit that he had to tell them someday, he knew deep down in his heart that Rose was right. Anyway, if he had to tell them, it’s better late than never.
“Thanks Rosie, I’ll remember that,” he said, forcing a smile.

Rose smiled back. She hesitated a little then said, “And Scorpius, I’m sorry I didn’t understand you in the beginning. I’m sorry I was so mean to you, but I want you to know that I will always try to help you the way you helped me, now that I know you better!” Then she got up and went out of the common room.

Rose’s last words were like a medicine; they healed Scorpius’s wounded heart completely, and left no sign of injury. He was sure that Rose was right, his parents loved him. His friends loved him. There had to be a few happy times and a few rough times in life. Happy times didn’t stay for long. But rough times didn’t stay for long either. He was sure that the rough times in his life would soon be replaced by happy times. His family and friends wouldn’t let him stay glum for long. Scorpius took his ink, quill and a piece of parchment and started writing a letter to his father, explaining how he got into Gryffindor and how Albus befriended him. This time, he knew in his heart that his letter wasn’t useless.

I'm sorry you can't come back on SS Tina. I hope you can still hang out on FB.

Yeah, I will!!! (I have mean parents! They don't mind FB, but they aren't okay with SS)

Glad you don't hate me Otts!!!

It was the day of the feast. All of Jacob’s friends were completely busy in the arrangements of the surprise party. James had informed all the Gryffindor students. Albus had decorated the common room just as it needed to be during Midnight and he had also bewitched the Common Room in such a way that the decorations wouldn’t reveal themselves until Midnight. Rose, Vanessa and Gabrielle had each bought tons of candy from Honeydukes, and had specially requested the elves in the Hogwarts kitchen to send a Birthday cake for Jacob. Everything had been finalized and Jacob didn’t have the slightest suspicion. It was Scorpius’s job to make sure that Jacob doesn’t enter the Common Room before midnight.

That night after supper, all the students went back to their dormitories except the Gryffindor students. Some of them chose to go to sleep instead of coming for the party, while others were glad to help Albus, Scorpius and James organize the party. Scorpius and Jacob went to the library, as Scorpius forced Jacob to accompany him to the library.

“It’s important for both of us to go together. We both need to do the transfiguration homework together!” Scorpius kept on saying.

“But why together?” Jacob asked, puzzled.

“You’ll see”, Scorpius replied, suppressing a smile.

Both of them spent a lot of time over the homework. When it was just five minutes to 12 `o’ clock, Scorpius pretended to yawn. “Hey Jake, how about we finish the rest of the thing tomorrow? I’m too sleepy to go on. After all, we have to submit it by day after. We’ve got enough time,” Scorpius said.

“I’m confused now! You just said it was important for us to do this together. I still don’t see why! You’re the one who wanted to do it right now, and now you’re saying that we’re not in a hurry! What is wrong with you today?” Jacob asked, half shouting.

“You’ll see,” Scorpius said peacefully. ‘Let’s go back to the Common room now.”
Scorpius gave the password to the fat Lady and Jacob and Scorpius stepped inside a dark common room.

“We’re here!” Scorpius muttered as a signal to the others who were waiting for him and Jacob. He grabbed Jacob’s arm and whispered, “Don’t move!”

“But why?” Jacob asked, amazed.

“You’ll see,” Scorpius said for the third time that night. That very moment, the room was fully lit and everyone burst into a “Happy Birthday” song. That definitely took Jacob by surprise. He hadn’t expected a surprise midnight feast and moreover, he hadn’t thought so many people would be there. Michael Sanders, the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Barbara and Maria Meyers, the American twins. Jacob thanked everyone for the party. Everyone enjoyed the Honeydukes candies, and the scrumptious cake sent by the elves. They deserved special rewards for the cake.

The party went on for about an hour and everyone went to sleep after that. Scorpius was happy for his friend, but his own worries were haunting him day and night. His parents still hadn’t replied to his letter. He was getting a feeling that they were furious with him. They were ignoring the letter on purpose. However, he did not let his feelings show on the outside. He acted normally and cheerfully around everyone.

One day, when Scorpius and Albus were looking for Scorpius’s green jumper that his grandma narcissi had knitted for him, he saw Scram flying towards the Gryffindor tower with another letter. The reply! Scorpius immediately forgot about the jumper and snatched the letter out of Scram’s beak. In his anticipation, he even forgot to reward Scram with some owl snacks. He hurriedly tore open the envelope and started reading the letter.

“My Dearest Scorpius,
I am deeply saddened by the fact that you lied to your father the first time. I hope you know how much we both love you. What have we done that caused you to lie to us? Haven’t we always taught you that honesty lies ahead of everything else? Haven’t we always taught you that truthful people are always one step ahead of the rest because their heart is pure? Moreover, haven’t we always taught you that you should not discriminate between houses? No house is better or worse than the other. I still do not understand why you felt the need to lie. We never put you under any kind of pressure regarding what house we wanted you to be in.

Your father was a brave man. He faced a lot of troubles while he was in school. He didn’t want you to make the same mistakes as he had made. He didn’t want you to have an opinion about something at Hogwarts which had been influenced by him. He wanted you to find yourself, that’s why he never told you what house he wanted you to be in. Even after all this, he forgives you because he is proud of you. He learned what Gryffindors could do while he was at school. After graduating from Hogwarts, your father developed a great respect for Gryffindor as well as the other houses. That is how we tried to raise you.

I hope you understand what I mean by this. Remember, we will still be proud of you because you are friends with Albus potter. Don’t let your father’s past affect you. Have fun at school. And of course, we are not angry at you, and we hope that you won’t lie to us again.

Scorpius almost jumped up from his seat with joy after he finished reading the letter. Tears of happiness started streaming down his cheeks. He quickly wiped them away and folded the letter back into shape. Albus, who was still in the room looking for Scorpius’s jumper, when he noticed Scorpius jumping around the room, laughing. Shocked, he confronted Scorpius.

“Scorp, buddy, are you okay?” Albus asked.

“Oh Al, I’m happier than ever! My parents are not angry at me for lying!” Scorpius replied. He startled Albus by hugging him tightly.

“Uh… great, but you’re choking the breath out of me!” Albus panted. “I’ll go tell Rose.”

Scorpius released Albus and he went to call Rose and the others. Scorpius was alone in the room, not looking for his jumper, not writing a reply to his mother, just sitting and smiling to himself. After about a moment, he decided to go to the lake.

As Scorpius was sitting by the lake, all by himself, he realized that he was thinking about Rose. How he had liked her since the beginning, how she had helped him get over his fears, how she became his friend. Just then, he heard Rose’s voice behind him.

“I’m glad they weren’t mad!” Rose said quietly. She came and sat beside Scorpius.

“I’m glad too. It’s all because of you! You were the one who told me what I should do. I can never thank you enough,” Scorpius replied. He noticed that she was blushing.

“You don’t have to thank me, Scorp. I wanted to help you,” Rose said, smiling. She stared at Scorpius for a while, and then she leaned over and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. “Come one, we’re late for Charms!”

Rose got up and started walking back towards the castle. She knew that she was going to do well here. Scorpius was sure that he was going to enjoy his life at Hogwarts. As for Albus, he was hoping that his friends would stay happy forever. That was enough for him to be happy.

Tina, I'm so sorry you have to leave SS. I think it's a great site, and I think the staff here tries their best to make it a safe and enjoyable place for young people. (old people too. yea for me ) Of course I don't want to undermine your parents. At least you still have that other place you and Ottery mentioned to escape pressures, and stuff. I'll miss you very much. You're welcome to e-mail me anytime you like. You're story was so sweet. I'm happy you was able to wrap up all the loose ends, and you did that very well. I really enjoyed reading it, and hope you keep up with your writing. Best of all to you in all you endeaver to do in your life.
