Default Gregory the Smarmy

Further down the fifth-floor corridor awaits a statue of a rather large bald man with several chins. If you know your potions or history well enough, you will be able to identify this medieval wizard as the inventor of Gregory's Unctuous Unction. Though a fine wizard, he is credited for worming his way into King Richard's confidence and making a fortune by administrating his BFF-in-a-vial to the former Muggle ruler.

While Gregory the Smarmy's story may be interesting to some, you might find what he is hiding to be more your scene. Looking closely behind the large man, you just might see a slight opening of a secret passageway. Few, however, have access to the passage and know exactly where it leads because not very many people know how to get the bulky statue to move aside. Trying all of the random passwords you know will result in failure and wasted time. Perhaps you need to take a leaf out of Gregory's book and find a way to excessively flatter him. Good luck.

Being back at Hogwarts meant Evan had, for the most part, shifted all of his reading into that of figures in the magical world. Maybe magic itself wasn't his favorite thing, but he was a firm believer in knowledge being power. So perhaps it would help him feel safer, more secure, if he knew most things he could learn about in the magical world. His current topic he was reading about? Gregory's Unctuous Unction. What an interesting potion it was, and he was kind of curious what someone ON it would actually look like.

Was it just a friendlier version of a love potion? Did it ALSO have a smell?

Obviously he knew the statue of the individual was not going to offer any insight but... well he was going that way anyways. It felt right to muse about the potion alongside the man who was responsible for it.

Besides, maybe he'd get lucky and in his thinking come up with the passage password?

Most days, Lia knew exactly what she would be doing and when she would be doing it. She had been doing her very best to keep her days completely full of activities giving her almost little to no down time at all. This was done completely on purpose in hopes of keeping herself busy so she had no time to think.

Unfortunately this wasn't one of those days. Somehow there had been a glitch in her scheduling. A blank space or time where something should have been. Yet there was nothing. Which left her wandering aimlessly along the corridor like a lost toddler in shop. She was so confused as to how she managed this that all she kept doing was staring at the book in her hands.

It was thanks to this book that she didn't notice Evan at all and walked right into him, knocking herself backwards onto her bottom. The book hit the floor with a soft 'thud' and Lia sat there on the floor completely confused.

He had an open book in front of him, a potions book and a history book on Smarmy in his bag. He was wondering if maybe the password was one of the ingredients? Or maybe there's was a best friend's name? If Evan was going to have set something as a password he definitely would have wanted to use his best friend's name. And So-...

His thoughts faded off and he closed his book as he realized.. he didn't really have one of those anymore. And for a brief moment, he missed her.

But thankfully, he didn't have time to ruminate on that, as someone bumped into his back causing him to stumble forward and drop his book. He spun around noticing Lia on the ground and made a small noise before reaching down to help her up. "Hey, are you okay?? Sorry, I shouldn't be just standing here taking up so much of the hallway."

For several long moments she sat there staring up at Evan and his outstretched hand a look of puzzlement on her face. Had he run into her? Or had she run into him? Really she wasn't sure but seeing as she was the one on the floor...

Lia grabbed her book off the floor at the same time she took hold of Evan's hand. "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay. I was kinda reading something myself..." she admitted softly getting to her feet and letting go of his hand.

Pushing some of her hair off face, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "Why are you just standing here in the corridor anyhow?" Lia glanced up and down the corridor for anything interesting she may have missed.

Err.... he wasn't quite sure why she was just staring at his outstretched hand. But eventually she did take it so he pulled her up, before releasing her hand and leaning over to grab his own book now on the ground. "I'm glad you weren't hurt." He glanced over at the book in her hand nodded towards it, "What are you reading currently?"

Hearing her question, he nodded towards the Statute of Gregory the Smarmy. "I've been reading about this fellow and his potion. I decided to go for a walk and come see the statute. Have you heard the rumors there's a secret passage behind this too?"

Not that he would know how to access it. Or probably use it even if he did.

"It takes a bit more than that to hurt me," Lia answered quietly with a small shrug of her shoulders, glancing down at the now closed book in her hands. "Oh, umm.. this is kinda my planner of sorts? I keep important times, dates and places in here.." Among other interesting things.

Dahlia turned her attention onto the Statute of Gregory the Smarmy. Potions wasn't one of her best classes but reading was her thing, as was adventuring. Adventuring meant learning everything that one could about a place, so obviously she had read as much as possible about Hogwarts. Made it a goal to explore the entire castle in her spare time, though last term had seriously messed that up quite a bit. Not to mention having older siblings and cousins meant hearing lots of stories.

"I've heard my fair share of stories about it and read a bit as well. This supposedly isn't the only spot where a secret passage is meant to be." She slipped her book into the pocket of her hoodie as she stepped closer to the statue trying to peer around it.

"Well, that's good." He thought anyways. He was glad that wasn't enough but also would prefer not to learn the threshold for what was enough to actually hurt her. He'd prefer people just not hurt, as impossible as they generally was. "Oh, that's smart to have. I have one but it's really just for classes." Because he didn't do much outside of classes. He should probably look into joining a club or something.

Well.. he had against his better judgement signed up to try to audition for helping out with the play.

He stepped off to the side as she moved closer to the statue to examine it, as he flipped open the pages of his book again for a moment. "That's true. I think there's a few. Something about one in the Room of Requirement, though you have to be specific in your request. And I think there's one out on the grounds somewhere?" But he couldn't quite remember. He was hoping to commit more of those secret spots to memory though, a just in case though he certainly didn't have any need for any of them now.

She nodded. After last term and how many trips she had taken to the Healer, she really didn't need anymore. "I have my classes listed in here too.. but I've been kinda writing times and things down to keep myself busier.." Please don't ask her why! She used to not be this way.

Dahlia squinted her eyes as she tried to see behind the statue. "I think I see something but.. it could be just a shadow from the corridor?" she gestured for Evan to come take a look. "It looks like there's a tiny opening back there but it's hard to tell for sure." The lighting wasn't the best and well she probably couldn't get herself back there even though she was very small for her age.

"There's seven. In the Room of Requirement? What do you mean, inside of it?" She looked at him curiously. "Uh-huh! It's near the Whomping Willow. My sister told me about that one. There's another one in the girls bathroom but that goes to the Chamber of Secrets and it's closed up now.. or ummm.. again?" Something like that. Hady had told her about it being re-opened back when Hady was here at Hogwarts.

He thankfully had not had to have any trips to the hospital wing, surprising but honestly a good thing as well. He didn't keep up really on who had to go and who had not either. "That makes sense." He wouldn't ask, he figured she just wanted less time to think or something. And if it was something different, if she wanted to she would have offered the information.

He looked around the statue too, stepping a little closer to her to do so as she gestured to him. He peered around, squinting a bit to try to see if he could see what she did. "I wish I knew for sure how to open it. Not that I need too.. I'm just.. curious." Where did this one go?

"Seven???" Well, he'd have to research more to figure out where they all were because he definitely didn't know of that many. "I think I read something about it being connected to Aberforth Dumbledore and it could create a passage to one of the shops in Hogsmeade? I don't know if it still does it. Or what you had to ask for." It might help if he could have remembered what to ask for too. "I remember reading some stuff about the Chamber of Secrets too, was that the bathroom on the second floor?" He certainly hoped it would not be reopened again either. Hopefully it stayed closed.

Yeeeeeeah, last term had been full of visits with the Healer. Let it be known though that not all of those visits were her fault or do to her own carelessness. Things had happened which had been out of her own control. As for her book, she nodded. "Yup, it serves its purpose." And then some. Anything that she deemed important was inside this book. So should anything ever happen to it, well, she would be one very very sad girl.

She took a small step to the side, allowing him to be able to see around her. Not that there was even all that much to see. "I can try to help figure it out.. if you want?" It would give her something else to do with her time. An adventure. More of a reason to continue wanting to find every hidden spot within the castle and its grounds.

"Uh-huh," Lia nodded, her hair falling into her face when she did. "At least that's what I've been told and I think I've read it somewhere once or twice before." Sometimes it got confusing remembering if she had read things before or had just been told them. "Ooh, maybe one of the books in the library would have information on it?" There seemed to be books on everything in the library. That's why she loved it in there and could be found there quite often. She nodded once more. "Yup! Hady, says her bestie at the time (they probably still are lol) was the one to get open and a bunch of students and a professor went down there or something like that." The details were a little fuzzy on the story right now, perhaps a mirror call to the big sister would be happening after dinner. "She said that secret passages are all closed up now though." Lia shrugged.

Given it was shared fault she had even fallen now, he absolutely would have believed everything was accidental and not her fault. "Better than it slacking off." He didn't know how to make jokes - but there was an attempt. Yikes.

When she offered to help figure out how to open it, Evan raised an eyebrow before nodding. "Two heads is better than one, right?" And they were two Ravenclaw's. "I was thinking maybe it had something to do with one of his friends or something? Maybe their names are the password?" Since he was known for essentially a friendship version of a love potion.

Seven sounded like so many of them! And he only knew of like... 3. One of which they were standing in front of. "The library is a good idea! I have a list of other things I was hoping to look up so maybe I'll add that." The Chamber of Secrets thing opening again.... Ev could say he was quite pleased to have not been that term either. Snakes didn't bother him and yet... a giant one sounded like something most unpleasant. "Did anything happen to anyone that you know of?" Or simply an exploration? "I'm not surprised. Though disappointed merely because I'd love to see where they all really end up."

Whether this was a good joke or not didn't matter. There had been an attempt made and one that Lia had been able to catch onto very quickly without any prompting. It not only made her smile but it caused her giggle softly as well which was somewhat of a rarity all of its own these days. "That's a pretty good point." If it didn't do what she had intended for it do, well then there would be no sense in her keeping it.

Lia almost huffed in silent frustration at that look. What was it with everyone giving her that look lately? If she didn't do something she normal did, she would get that look. If she did something she normally wouldn't do, she got that look. Nothing she said or did anymore seemed right. She might be may cautious now with things but she still loved adventuring and helping people. Deep down she was still the same old Dahlia she had always been. She was almost starting to think he wasn't going to agree until he finally did. A quick grin tugged at her lips and she nodded. "So they say. Mm' that's a possibility or maybe it has something to do with the potion itself?" Was that even a possibility that somehow the potion had something to do with opening the passageway?

He had a list? The more she heard him talk, the more she realized he sounded kinda like her and it made her giggle. "You spend a lot of your time in the library, hm?" As did she. The more she could read, the happier she was. "What kind of things are you researching? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to.." She was simply curious is all. Since she had her own research going on. "Ermm.. I think everyone made it out okay if that's what you're asking?" If he wanted details she could totally find out. "Neither am I but just because it's closed off now doesn't mean it has to remain that way." Or what if the passageways weren't even really blocked off and they were just being told that so they wouldn't go messing around to find them?!

The giggle did give Evan a small smile as well, glad to have been able to make her laugh even with something so silly and dumb to have said. "Do you have backups for if you fill it or is good for the full year?" Like a calendar day type of one.

He had meant nothing by the look except for... surprise that someone wanted to actually spend more time around him. Perhaps it was just that she was looking for distraction - because being alone with ones thoughts was not preferable these days, but still. He wasn't an overly exciting, chatty or fun person to be around. He had no idea she was getting similar looks from other people. "The potion itself is an idea... maybe it's one of the ingredients?" He opened his book again pulling it open but... it didn't have the full list available. "Well.. what do you think would be in it?"

He wasn't sure why she was giggling, but it didn't bother him. At the question of the library, he nodded his head in the affirmative. "Yeah, the library, study tables and common room." That's where he got his books, though he was trying to spend more time on the grounds in quieter places to actually study. Expanding his horizons or something. "Oh, well some of it is muggle related - like some psychology books about Freud and Jung. I have some more books to go through about astronomy and black holes and I was trying to research more about the gytrash." A creature he knew next to nothing about. "Do you have anything you are looking into?"

If people were okay was exactly what he meant, so he smiled and nodded his head again. "I'm glad to hear that." And she raised good points about all the passage ways too. "Maybe we'll secretly be the students that figured out how to reopen them all?" Sans the Chamber of Secrets. He'd leave that one sealed and stay far, faaaar away thank you.

A backup. Did she need a backup book? That was a seriously good question. One she hoped she would never have to consider but it was always a possibility. "This was is special. If it what it's meant to do.. I shouldn't have any trouble with it lasting the entire year." And than some.

This was the thing with making new friends, one had to learn about them. Their likes and dislikes, how they reacted to certain things, their way of thinking. These things also took time. "It could be. It sounds like a possible theory to me, anyhow." As for what the ingredients might be, Lia chewed her lower lip in thought. "Well it's a friendship potion. It's meant to attract someone into being best friends so umm... possibly some type of flower." Flowers were attractive?

She smiled. "Psychology?" That was a bit above her thought process but to each their own. She nodded as she listened. "Umm, a few. Mostly creature and plant stuff.. now I have some reach to do about these passage ways. A few things on spell work and stuff.." Was she being a little bit vague? Possibly.

"So was I." She wasn't one who liked hearing about people getting themselves hurt. "We could be if we really want to be." They had to be in it, to win it, right?

"Maybe even if it does start to run out of pages.. there's probably some type of charm to extend it, right?" Like that one that made bags seem like something straight from Mary Poppins. "Did someone give you that book?" Noticed she had referred to it as special, wasn't sure if that was just because what it was used for or if it was a gift.

His previous friends had kind of just... latched, without much effort from Evan at all. That's probably why the whole concept was still a difficult thing for him to figure out. And why the friendship potion was low key fascinating. "A flower... well... doesn't the amortentia potion take the rose thorn? So maybe the friendship one takes a petal?" he jotted down 'rose petal' as an option for password, everything was worth a try. "Maybe it has to be specifically a yellow one though?" Wasn't that the flower of friendship? He wasn't very well versed in what flowers said.

Maybe he should add that to his list of things to study too.

He nodded when she questioned psychology, giving a half smile. "My mom's a psychologist. So it's always been something kind of talked about in my house and I think it's interesting." He'd been in the room last year so.. he didn't think it necessary to elaborate further his Mum was muggle. "Are Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures your favorite?" Since she had mentioned things related to those subjects specifically. And back to the passages... he smiled a little wider, "Maybe we should try?"

"To give it more pages, you mean? Uh-huh. There's also a spell to clear pages if I choose to do that as well." Not that she would be clearing any of the pages she had already filled out. That would be silly. "Yes, my sister." Lia nodded. The book had been given to her at the start of her first year which made it special but it was also the charms and all the work that she had already put into it that made it more special.

Lia had never really thought about how friendships were formed. For her.. they had always.. well just happened. Maybe it because she was a friendly person or she had things in common with the other individual. "Uhh, I think it does?" She wasn't very well brushed up on all the ingredients in specific potions and certainly not a love potion. "That could work. It makes sense?" In her head it did anyway. A flower petal was soft and delicate. "A yellow one? Why would it ha-" Dahlia had begun to ask but than paused to consider why Evan may have stated the color yellow specifically. "That's.. actually a really good thought. Yellow flowers do typical stand for friendship. It also gives a sense of joy and pride along with a sense of success." Success equaled accomplishment. The accomplishment of a successful friendship potion? Evan didn't know this but Herbology was right up her alley. He had found himself a good partner to work with if they continued to look into all of this stuff.

Now it was her turn to nod when he told her that his mum was a psychologist. It made some sense that he was interested in it. Like how she was interested in creatures, herbology and all things outdoorsy because of her family. "That makes sense." She had been in the room too so clearly there was a muggle relation in her family-line or she had done something to be placed there. "Yup!" She grinned widely at him. "Creatures have a very special place in my heart. I've grown up around all kinds my whole life." Hence why she could be found in the barns pretty often. "It's the only way to find out what we want to know, right?" In other word, they should totally go for it!

He nodded at the clarification question, "Yeah. The clearing spell sounds interesting. It sounds like a magical white out." Except without all of the mess white out always seemed to use, no matter how often it was attempted to be improved. A gift from her sister? That would make sense then why it was so special to her. Sibling gifts were some of the best gifts. "Your older sister you mentioned before?" The one associated with the Chamber? He wasn't sure if she had others or if she did, exactly how many siblings she had.

If she had questioned why he knew the ingredients, he wouldn't have had any idea how to answer. Why did he know that? He certainly couldn't give any other examples of the ingredients, but it must have been something he'd read. And retained because wasn't it odd that the ingredient needed from the flower for a love potion was that which usually caused injury? He wasn't that surprised when she began to question why yellow, but what was surprising was when she stopped the question and answered it herself. He raised an eyebrow a bit, a corner of his lip twitching upwards. "Do you like flowers then? I'm not very good at remembering what exact plants say themselves but... some of the colors I was able to retain." Mainly the yellow. He kind of liked the color yellow.

"Sometimes I think maybe it'd be interesting to do what she does." And he was thinking about it more and more now. Didn't trauma breed good psychologists? But he was only 13 so he had plenty of time to figure out really what he wanted to do in his future. "Does your family raise creatures or something?" Is that why she was around them so often? "Sounds good to me. Maybe we can pencil it in our books too?" Planned exploration? It might be nice to have someone to walk around with too.

She nodded in agreement. "It pretty much is. It works nicely once you get the hang of it." Surprisingly easy too, which was really good for her being so young still. "Yup, that would be the one! Or umm.. one of them. I have a few older sisters." Four to be exact and she had brothers too!

If she hadn't been so into giving the answer to her own question, she may have actually laughed at the look of surprise on Evan's face. "Yeah, not only flowers though. All things herbology. I know a lot flowers and plants." Including what the colors of specific flowers and plants supposedly meant.

"It's not a topic I know much about but I do know there's a lot to it. Is she really easy to talk to?" His mum. Some people were a lot easier to talk to than others. Dahlia shook her head. "Not exactly. My papa used to be the shopkeeper at the Magical Menagerie but that was back when I was really little. My older sister is a Magizoologist, she tends to the creatures at Scamanders zoo and travels all over taking care of creatures. My cousin is studying to be a Dragonologist." There was some other family friends that bred creatures as well and lots that owned all kinds of creatures. "Sure. If it's written in the book, it has to happen." Those were the rules. Her rules.

"Do you think you could show it to me sometime?" He didn't know that one at all, but it sounded incredibly helpful. Think of how many trees he could save by not excessively throwing out all of his parchment and notebooks when he made a mistake. It really is something they should have taught them day one. In probably Charms. Wait.. a few older sisters? "How many siblings do you have?"

The preference on this particular subject was very object. She really was not exaggerating when she said she liked creatures and plants. "Do you have a favorite flower based on it's meaning then?" Sure people could have favorite flowers based on the looks, but he was more curious if there was one she just really liked the meaning on.

The question she asked had him feeling a lot of things. Things he was trying really hard to not show on his face. He used to feel very close to his Mum, but after last term and the summer following it.. well he felt very displaced with his parents. "She can be, I suppose. If you're a patient or where her attention is focused, she's definitely easy to discuss anything with." But as her child... well sometimes having negative emotion towards her felt like something she was too sensitive too. Oh.. well it sounded like a lot her family was well immersed into the world of creatures. He was actually kind of impressed by the range. "That sounds interesting! Did you spend a lot of time at the Menagerie or were you too young? Frequent flyer at the zoo?" Dragonology honestly sounded very cool to him and if he were ever going to consider a field of study in the magic realm, he might have started there. But as it was now, he was much more interested in muggle career options. "That sounds logical to me."

"Sure!" The only reason she even knew it was because of her older sister teaching it to her for the purpose of this book. Hopefully it would last a long long time. Ah, there it was. The golden question. "Nine." And now to wait for the look of astonishment.

Dahlia giggled quietly at the question. "Of course. Though I'm sure my answer is going to seem very silly." She was more curious if he could guess what her favorite flower might be. It was incredibly easy, painfully so in all honesty.

She nodded slowly. "Mm, I guess that makes sense but.. it has to make it tough to talk about things then sometimes, right?" Cause she would need to be 'mum' and not the 'psychologist'. Lia grinned widely. "I was all the time! I still go there all the time.." When she wasn't here. Being around creatures was easier than being around people, they didn't judge anything that was said to them. "Whenever my sister isn't too busy to have me around." Ha! She tagged along all the time anyhow and hung around watching the creatures while Hady worked. "Yup! What times are best for you?"

He beamed at the agreement to show him, "Thank you!" It'd be nice to add another helpful spell to his repertoire. He was going to have to start using magic more anyways so he might as well spend a little more time practicing the practical applications. He blinked at the answer to his sibling question, and decided he must have heard her wrong. Even if it was a silly question for her to clarify Mine?. "Yes, yours. How many?" Because that had to be what she said.

Right?

And then she answered the question and yet.... didn't. Which made him feel like he was supposed to guess. But Evan also kind of felt like he backed himself into a corner and maybe shouldn't guess because she'd called it 'silly' so anything he answered would have given off the impression of him potentially judging her. Well... maybe he'd go for a not obvious answer and then he wouldn't offend? "Is it a Forget-me-not? I always thought they had a poetic name."

He considered the question about his mum, and shook his head slightly. Honestly, he liked that most of the time psychologist and mum were combined, it meant he got really unique perspectives when he went to her about things. "It's more of.. my mom can be really focused and it's usually only on one thing. And uh.. well my parents kind of adopted my best friend this summer." He felt silly as he said it. It didn't sound like an issue. It shouldn't have been an issue. And yet... when he'd needed his parents they were emotionally unavailable. Creatures WERE easier and he was much happier to shift to those in conversation again. "I haven't gone to Scamander Zoo yet, but it sounds like it would be really cool. Have you ever gotten to help her take care of the creatures?" Oh, but yes times to for castle exploration and passageway hunting! It seemed to pathetic to answer literally anytime which was pretty true, so he came up with a specific. "Do you have time Sunday mornings? We don't have to every Sunday."

She smiled brightly in return. "You're welcome! Maybe sometime you can teach me something in return?" Surely there were charms he knew that she didn't, right? And even if not, it was no big deal. She was always happy to help. Huh? Maybe he had heard HER wrong cause she had just told him. It was that or he was surprised by her answer like most people were the first time she told them. "Nine. All older. Five much much older with spouses and jobs and kids and stuff.." Lia paused for a second for that to sink in. "The other four are here at Hogwarts. Lukas and Luna are fourth years.. Elias, Lily and I are all second years."

Dahlia noticed how he didn't quite answer and she smiled. "Don't worry, I'm just curious is all. I like to see what other people think." His choice of flower as her favorite somewhat surprised her. "Super cute flower and the meaning is good but nope. My favorite is the Dahlia.. like my name. Not just because I'm named for the flower either." Though that was a small reason.

Oh, wow.. now that was information she wasn't expecting. "O-oh.. and.. are you okay with that?" She wasn't sure how she would feel about her parents adopting her bestie. It would be cool having him around all the time but it would also be strange too. And just like that they were speaking of creatures again and Lia stared at Evan in pure shock. "What?! You've never been to Scamanders?!" That was a tragedy! "It's the greatest! Uhh, yeah sometimes. It depends on the creature and what she's doing that day and stuff." Safety first and all that good stuff.

"Yeah, I can do that. I'm usually somewhere on the grounds on Sunday mornings helping with the creatures or tending to my plants in the greenhouse. But anytime should be fine really."

Well... he had no idea what he could teach her, but he supposed there was probably something? "Sure!" He'd have to figure out exactly what, but he would get there. When she answered again, he realized he had misheard and she had said nine. That was... so many siblings. He could only blink at her for a moment as that information sunk in. "So.. you're an aunt then as well? How many nieces and nephews?" With the age gaps too, he wondered if they all felt more like additional siblings or cousins. "Are they all in house Ravenclaw with you?" He felt like he remembered at least one of those names for the year above him and their house.

Oh, well just curiousity helped him feel a bit better, but he was also still glad he had opted for a safer answer. When she gave the correct answer though, he felt silly himself for not having just considered that. He'd nearly forgotten a Dahlia was also a flower. "I don't think I know the meaning for that one. What is it?"

She was... the first person who had asked if he was okay with it. Sure, he and Maya had some conversation attempts regarding their new sibling, but that was more based on the fact that they both were obviously struggling with the change. Still, even with being asked he had a hard time answering. "Well.. it would make me a bad person to be anything but wouldn't it?" It was a non-answer, and yet that information was correct wasn't it? He was a pretty terrible person. He shook his head at the question of Scamander's as well, offering a small smile at her shock. "There just hasn't been much opportunity yet. Maybe next summer." If he wasn't hermitting again. "What's your favorite type of creature?"

"Okay! Well, then Sundays whenever you're done with creatures?"

"Okay! Well, then Sundays whenever you're done with creatures?"
"Wicked! Do you have a favorite branch of magic that you're really good?" Maybe there was an area of magic he was better at than she was and he could teach her something from that. The look on Evan's face said it all. It always did whenever anyone heard she was already an aunt. "Uh-huh, for basically nearly my entire life almost. I have three nieces and two nephews." Lia took a brief pause again. "No but I wish they all were. My brothers are Claws and Lily is in Hufflepuff with our cousin Ryder. Luna and our cousin Reagan are in 'Currently Unknown'."

Dahlia smiled. "See, that's where Dahlia's can get really tricky. There's many colors just like other flowers and with that, each color holds a different meaning. Not all meanings very nice either.. the range from commitment, honesty, inner strength, change, and creativity to instability and betrayal." They were a beautiful flower though, especially when all the colors were grown together.

She was that type of person. The one who thought about that type of thing. What it would really truly be like to have her best friend become her actual true sibling. "Actually, no, I don't think it would. Just because they're you're best friend and I'm sure you want the very best for them, it can't be easy having them come into your home." Being a complete outsider on situation she could only guess that the circumstances may have possibly had something to do with the war since he had said it was over the summer. The war itself and all of last term was tragic enough then add in a change like that, it was a whole lot. In her eyes, Evan had the right to feel how he felt but if he was anything like her, he would feel guilty about how he felt too. Scamanders was a much nicer topic to talk about. "Maybe we can go together and I can show you around. I pretty much know where everything is." It could be lots of fun. "Uhhhh..." Was he ready for this? "Well.. ALL of them of course!" Lia laughed softly before shaking her head. "I love all creatures. I really want a cat but I already have Sir Frederik so that will have to wait a bit longer. Nifflers are really cute. Dragons, red pandas, snakes and bowtruckles.. cruppies." The list could go on and on. "What about you? Do you have a favorite?"

"Sundays it is! I can meet you back in the common room?"
