Supply Closet

The supply closet is the second indistinguishable black door to the right of the Astronomy door...Or is it the Ever-locked door? These darn things seem to switch around. Regardless, behind this door you will find the supply closet which holds all of the ordinary department supplies needed and some specified for Unspeakables use. Parchment and inks, including one special variety containing floo powder as an ingredient and another with sands of time line the small shelves, envelopes, fresh quills stack up right next to it. There are also a couple of small cases of snitch-sized orbs for storing and collecting prophecies. Next to that a case of empty phials and hour glasses. Humidor-looking boxes hold and keep fresh potions ingredients for love potions and those white fluffy boots were probably moon boots for walking in low gravity climates.

Adam / Krel

Hazel had been at work for about fifteen minutes already and had stopped in past Uncle Jazz’s office to give him a coffee that she had taken in with her. After all, with all of the hours that he worked - he likely needed it already even if it was only eight in the morning.

She had gotten back on the rotunda to find the ever locked room so that she could drop off her handbag and her jacket. Once that was done, she had slipped a hair into a high (rather messy) ponytail and had gotten back onto the rotunda for a third time that morning.

”The supply closet.”

Once the spinning stopped, she opened the door and stepped within the room, a pad and muggle pen in her hand for continuing their stock take. She hadn’t seen Adam yet, but it was very likely that he was coming in slightly later today as they had been here well past their usual finishing time the night before.

She, personally, would have loved that… but she had managed to get Mammy into a routine of coming in to work for eight am and she knew that even a single day deviated from their routine would set her back more than a month. No, for her own peace of mind she had to continue coming to work at 0800, even if she didn’t want to.

Sighing, and rubbing her neck as she looked around the cupboard she groaned and hoped that they would be done soon. This wasn’t really her favourite part of this job.

Adam hadn’t meant to come in late, despite the late hours the day before, but he never slept well this time of year and last night was the first decent night of sleep he’d had in a while. In his rush to get to work, he hadn’t had breakfast. As he stepped out of the rotunda and reached for the door handle to the supply closet he was already regretting not eating. His stomach was flip-flopping from the spinning. He quickly decided he was going to have to keep a couple breakfast bars in his jacket pocket or desk from now on.

The opened door to reveal the light was already on. Someone was either in the closet collecting supplies (which would totally throw off all his and Hazel’s hard work from the day previous) or Hazel had beaten him to work. “Hallo?” he called slipping his leather jacket off and hanging it on a peg by the door. He left his blue and purple checked scarf around his neck. He’d learned the hard way yesterday the room was quite dusty and having a scarf to wrap around your nose and mouth was handy if one liked breathing without coughing or wheezing. He’d worn an old Weird Sister’s graphic tee that he’d found in the back of his father’s closet when he had helped him clean the house up last year. His arms were bare, showing off some of his scars and without the bulk of clothing looked surprisingly skinny and underfed for his tall frame.

Hazel and he had worked out a system yesterday. Hazel had given Adam the impression that she preferred not to muck around in the dust and cobwebs which left Adam to do the “heavy lifting” and count while she made the list and recorded the stock. (It was probably for the better anyway as Adam’s handwriting wasn’t the greatest, especially in English.) By the end of the day he’d sore he had a heavy layer of dust and webs on his upper body and he was going to have to send his shirt to the laundromat to get it clean. More than that, he’d found the closet sorely missing quite a lot of potion ingredients and having an over-abundance of (oddly enough) paperclips and seven league boots. If Hazel had beat him into work, he’d be surprised if she had begun doing too much without him.
