Kings Cross Station

Just arriving to the Station? Enter here and head to the Platform. Be mindful of the muggles and don't linger too long! Don't want to miss the train.

Evie arrived at King's Cross with her mother and father, her younger sister had stayed home with their grandmother. The grip she had on her mothers hand as they entered the train station had to be cutting off the circulation to Taryn's fingers but she didn't seem to care. The brunette was a bundle of nerves and energy, both terror and excitement filling her body. Her father Matthew followed closely behind them skeptical of sending off his oldest child to school, much less one he, until recently, had never heard of. But Taryn was adamant that this was the absolute best thing for Evie. "Hurry Mom! I don't want to be late!!" Evie squealed as they began weaving through the other people filling up the station

Helena kept jumping up to see over the crowd and with frustration pushed through a family saying their goodbyes.."excuse me, I'm sorry I didn't mean to step on your foot" then she turned and the wonderment took her breathe away.. There it was! The Hogwarts express!! The train she had only heard about. She wanted to touch it..she reached out and pulled back quickly as she heard her Mother say.. "be careful Helena don't fall on the track" Oh Mother"she said as she went back to grab her bag. "I will miss you Mother but I can't wait to get there!" "I know dear I was just as excited as you my first year"

There were a mixture of feelings which Rachel was feeling but it mainly comprised of nervousness and excitement. She would be away from her home for only the second time in her life. The first being when she spent some of the summer over at Haddie's.

"Write to us often, Princess,''
Phil Watson said to his daughter. He was trying to remind himself that his sole daughter was growing up and it was time he stopped being so protective of her but it was very difficult.

"She will be fine, Phil. Stop worrying,'' Mae Watson reassured and lightly squeezed her husband's arm. "Have fun, Rachel. If you decide to stay for Christmas, let us know. Do you have everything you need?''

Rachel threw herself at her father, her arms going around his waist. "I will write as often as possible, daddy. Please don't worry about me. I want you and mommy to find many new plants as possible so you can tell me all about them when I write.'' The eleven year old shifted so that she was standing between her parents. One hand moved from her father's waist to her mother's so that she was hugging them together. "I love you both. Yes, mommy, I have everything.'' Her trunk was neatly stashed in a trolley, her favourite potted cactus perched neatly to one side of said trolley.

Rachel released her parents to look around at the station. Where were Garreth and Haddie? Henric? Katherine? Carl? Jace? Candice? Noelle and Hope? Mason? Benton? Brady? Were any of the friends she had made there as yet or had they crossed through the barrier already?

So... today was the day, then. The day Katherine Mary Moss officially started Hogwarts. lthough she tried to contain her excitement, it was obvious in her eyes. As much as she would miss her house, Hogwarts was going to be her home, or so it was supposed to be. No, she had no doubt: it would be.

The family of three arrived at the station. They weren't different than the muggles around at all: a girl, a mother, and a father carrying a trolley that contained one single (magical) trunk. There were no owls or cats, because a cat would just be a distraction from her academic studies and they didn't have enough money to buy an owl saw no need to buy an owl when school had plenty. She was going with just one trunk...

"I'm still doubtful that there is a platform as 9 3/4..." her muggle mother said but Katherine ignored her. She had a wand, an acceptance letter and everything else required by the school; why would they pull such a silly prank now? Besides, her dad had been a Huffleuff and had confirmed that the Platform was true. It all sounded like a dream - she had been getting ready for this since the moment she showed the first sign of magic.

"It's from there," her father said, "you got to walk into the Wall..." She knew that already. She ignored her mum's suspicious and unimpressed face again, and headed towards there...

Hiraeth 12-23-2015 03:59 PM

Mason's stomach felt like it was wheeling as fast as the trolley on which her trunk and her owl were stacked. She had been away from her parents before (obviously, since they left her to do things on her own so often), but she was still nervous about leaving them. Even if they did argue 24/7, she still loved them.

Her father, whom had been pushing the heavy cart, suddenly stopped. They were now only a few feet away from the brick wall between platforms 9 and 10.
A few feet away from their little family being separated.

Seb released the trolley and turned towards his daughter, his only child and the only thing that he still loved in the world. He knelt to her height and wrapped his arms tightly around the little girl. When had she grown up so much?

He disentangled himself from his child and stood looking into her eyes, "Now Steve," he told her with a smile, "I want you to write to us as much as you possibly can. As soon as you get sorted or even if you walked past a funny painting, write to us. And just remember that no matter what happens, I love you." He said the last bit in a voice thick with emotion and he sadly kissed her head before standing back up.

Anya watched with tears in her steely eyes as her daughter greeted her father. Did Macey know how much her they love her? You should have spent more time with your daughter, you fool. Instead of always casting her aside.

Anya wrapped her arms around her child the moment she had a change. She kissed her head and muttered, "Ya lyublyu tebya, Mishenka." She let out a soft sob and squeezed her daughter even tighter.

Mason was dumbfounded at her parents' emotional states. She had never expected them to be so . . . sad. But when her mother had whispered that she loved her, Mason felt her own eyes begin to water. They really did love her, even if they didn't show it as much as they should have.

With a heavy heart, Mason took one of each's hands and gave them a reassuring squeeze, "I'll be back for Christmas. But . . . I love you blokes as well."

This was it…and Olivia was excited.

Even if she wasn’t totally sure why she was using the train from London. Couldn’t they have come from her grandparents’ home which wasn’t far from Hogwarts at all? Perhaps that was part of why she wasn’t so nervous over all things about to happen. But then she had been well prepared for this day, both physically and emotionally. Her trunk and cat carrier resting on a trolley currently in possession of her father who had made certain to clear his day to see her off.

“You have everything?”
he asked, wanting to make sure…again. Sure almost anything left could be owled but Ethan was feeling anxious. This was his daughter…his first child. Going off on her own. It was a big deal to the auror.

“Uh huh…I think so Dad,” Olivia tried to assure him, returning the offered hug before giving one to her mother.

"Are you ready?” Aurora asked once they separated, a glance at the large clock nearby giving them plenty of time. But it wasn’t always good to be randomly lingering among all the muggle in Kings Cross for too long looking weird to passerbys that gave them too much attention. The small group resuming the walk to Platforms 9 and 10.

Woah....near collision as one girl stopped in front of her, her parents and trolley clear on other side. "Excuse me..." Olivia said politely as she side-stepped the girl who looked around her own age.

There were no signs of any of her friends. Not even shiny teeth Corn. Rachel decided that she would look for them when she got on the platform. She was about to grasp her trolley's handle to start pushing it towards the Wall but stopped short at the voice. Her face lit up when she saw who it was. She had found someone she knew! "Hello, Olivia.'' Would the girl remember her?

"Be careful, princess. Are you sure you don't want us to come with you?''

"I'm sure, daddy. You and mom have to leave. Your team's waiting for you.'' Rachel smiled sweetly at her parents but inside she was dying. She didn't want to leave her parents. She wanted to go on the expedition with them... she wanted to look for new plants too. Turning away, she blinked rapidly to rid tears that threatened to spill over. No, she could cry here. Not now. When she trusted herself to look at her parents again, she said. "I have company. Olivia and I can cross the barrier together.''

"Alright, Rachel. Write to us as soon as you can." Mae kissed her daughter's cheek.

"Bye. We love you, princess.''

"I love you too.'' Rachel watched her parents head for their car. "Bye...'' She had been looking forward to Hogwarts since a very long time but she didn't know it would be this difficult to part with her parents.

Carl entered the public square after saying goodbye to his aunt and uncle. Now that he was not holding his aunt's hand, his grip on his trolley tightened out of nerves. For one thing, he still had no idea how to get to Platform 9 3/4.

Seeing a girl standing nearby, Carl decided to ask her for directions. There was a slim chance that she was a witch though, so his hopes were not high. "Hello, do you know how to get to Platform 9 and 3/4?" He asked anxiously.

DaniDiNardo 12-24-2015 06:32 PM

Blaise Bellaire was dragging his feet as much as he possibly could without it being such a hindrance that his father would give him a stern word about it. Where had his summer gone? It felt like only last week he'd gotten off the train and kissed the floor of platform 9 3/4. How was it that he had to be going back already?

The little boy had his most sullen look on, one hand pulling his trunk behind him and the other holding on to his younger sister's.

He would give anything to hear his parents tell him they'd changed their minds and he wouldn't have to go back but he'd been forced to pack his things a week well in advance of this day. There was no changing their mind, there was nothing but knowing they were heading for the Hogwarts Express and it made him feel sick; completely and utterly sick.

"Remember we want you to give magic a fair try this term. No owls home about your wand being defective, no skipping classes. I want you to write me every time you've learned a new spell and please Blaise, don't make it look like we're sending you off to prison. Your future is in magic. You've made some lovely friends and I bet if you give the school a chance you'll like it a whole lot more." Grace muttered to the positively crestfallen child. She hated seeing him like this, honestly. The woman knew this was the best thing for him but her son had a way of making them look like the villains and all she wanted to do was pull him into a hug and make promises she might not have been able to keep.

"Yes mum." He kept his head hung low, paying very little attention to his quill and notepad that oh so diligently took down his mum's instructions. He would just keep nodding and agreeing until the lecture was over.

"It's not the end of the world; hardly. You made some progress over the summer even with all your resisting. Your mum and I know you can do even better if you actually applied yourself. I don't want to hear any of this foolishness about not wanting to try anymore and I most certainly don't want an owl from your Head of House concerning your lack of effort again." His son didn't like magic. As if anything could be worse.

Yes dad." Only his sister seemed to be as quiet as himself, no doubt trying not to cry. She'd snuck into his room the night before when she was meant to be sleeping, begging him not to go away for so long again. As if he had a choice.

If only he could stay home. That one girl he'd met suggested muggle schooling but he was much too scared of how badly his dad would blow up if he mentioned such a thing. It would simply be another year of suffering in stubborn silence. Was it June yet?

She truly hadn’t registered the identity of the girl she moved to past. That was until Olivia heard her name and turned towards her for a better look. Her eyes widdenly slightly as reconization hit her. “Rachel?” Was this the girl she had only met online with that muggle place? She certainly looked familiar like she was, having not been someone that she had met in person. “Hey….” She greeted back making the choice that it was true, especially after seeing the cactus on her trolley.

As Rachel’s parents spoke, Olivia was reminded they weren’t alone as she simply stood innocently enough as her companion spoke with them. The girl trying not to pay too much attention as Rachel seemed to be getting emotional about their departure, She nodded absently though as she was drawn back into it all. “Yeah…sure…we can do it together.” Her parents would be staying however, the trio had made that agreement for the very first train ride at least.

“You…okay?” she asked, trying to be friendly once the other girl’s parents were out of sight. Speaking of parents, she remembered her own and turned for introductions. “Mum….Dad….this is Rachel.”

Aurora had been quietly staying out of things as they stopped, with Ethan standing just off her shoulder watching the scene before them. Their little girl was growing up and the couple was trying to let her have her space while still being protective. Seemed she already had a new friend, one that was now being introduced to them. “Hello Rachel,” she greeted, her husband following suit with a friendly smile and nod.

Arriving at King's Cross with both her father and cousin Hady couldn't help but instantly glance around for anyone she knew. It wasn't that she wanted to get rid of her family or anything it was just that she was fifteen now and was more then ready to see her friends once more.

Double checking all her belongings the now fifth year couldn't help but grin. The look on her fathers face was going to make her laugh. The man never looked this sad in all the previous years of her boarding the train to Hogwarts. And THIS year he wasn't going to be alone, Koen was still with him for a few more days. It had been a nice summer but it was time for her to go.

Setting Hagan down on the ground at her feet Hady knelt down and wrapped the small blonde in a tight hug to which he promptly pushed her away. Shaking her head and laughing she whispered to him, "Try to keep out of trouble, okay?"

"It's not like I go around looking for trouble, it just has a way of finding me," Koen replied with a near identical smirk that matched his older cousins. Stepping back he gave his head a shake allowing his platinum blonde hair to fall right back into his eyes. They could go now right? Hady was here and safe. So it was time to go now, yeah?

With a light sigh Evan Donavon hugged his daughter tightly. "Have a good time. Study and stay out of trouble. Wri-" the older man began to say only he was quickly hushed up by laughter.

Laughter which came from Hady of course. "I know dad. I'm be fine. I always study and I'll owl every week. I'll see you as soon as I can," she grinned brightly letting her father go and reaching out to mess Koen's hair. Nothing more was to be said here as she set her hand on her trolley and pushed it forward casting one last look over her shoulder at the two people she left behind.

Carl sighed in relief and his grip on the trolley loosened a bit. He was still a little unsure whether the girl was heading to Hogwarts like he was, or if she was a Muggle pulling a prank on him. He hoped it was the former, because he could not miss his ride to school.

As he followed the older girl, he asked, "So, you go to Hogwarts, right?"

It did seem as though Olivia remembered her. Rachel continued to smile. "That's me.'' She noted that the other girl had seen the cactus in the trolley and at that moment and the Princess loving girl was reminded that she owed the girl one of the plants. Oh, no! She had forgotten all about this earlier but she wouldn't now. She was also very grateful that Olivia said it was okay they cross the barrier together.

Rachel sniffled, still fighting back tears. "I will be. I've never been away from both of them at the same time.'' Phil and Mae had always ensure that their daughter be with at least one of them while the other was away. She tried to pull herself together upon the introduction of Olivia's parents.

"Hello, Mr and Mrs Stone.'' She gave them a watery smile. Yes, she did remember their names. "It's lovely to meet you both.'' Rachel's dark eyes went back to Olivia. "Are you waiting on anyone else?" If not, she was all set to go through the barrier.

Dad was supposed to bring her stuff. That was his only job, but there he went forgetting her candy bag and now she had to stand here in the public area where MUGGLES are and make sure to look muggle-y. Except she didn't know how that was? Not that she never met a muggle, she did, but blending in wasn't a featful effort so maybe just... standing... here... by the wall and crossing her arms... and feet was casual-like enough? Mhmmm.

Juuuust a lounging muggle over here, mhmm.

OH MERLIN!! this was the day!! Hope was finally going to get on the train!!! Her mum, dad and brother were standing there with her as she got her things together. She was going to do it! she was going to run through that wall and be on her way to the greatest school known to magical or muggle creature alive!!

Her mum and dad were looking a little teary eyed and she knew this could get ugly quick. She leaned in to her brother and whispered to him. "I think we need to make this a quick goodbye before mum and dad break down. Help me??

Chris, wanting to get this part over with, agreed. He was going to miss his little sister, but he wasn't good with good byes and he knew she would be home before he knew it. The only downside to all of this was that he was going to have to help his dad with her side of the chores and he wasn't looking forward to that.

He leaned down picking his little sister up and gave her a quick hug. "Bye twerp! I'm going to miss you being there to do your side of the chores! He joked. He messed up her hair and walked closer to his parents. "Come one mum and dad, she will be back in a few months. It will feel like she wasn't even gone! Chris laughed and gave his sister a wink.

Hope wasn't amused but she knew her brother was trying to help. She gave him a little shove and grinned. after she walked over to her mum and dad giving them both a hug. "I'll be ok mum! I made some friends already and I am sure there will be plenty of people to watch over me. I'll send you an owl every week to give you an update on my life! She stepped back and turned towards the wall.

She waved her last goodbye as she ran towards the wall with all her things. Straight at it. She was sure the muggles were wondering what she was doing but no one was paying attention to her as she ran. Just as she thought she would crash, she soared through to the platform 9 and 3/4.

Eleven-year-old Samuel Chevalier stood in place as his dear mum Ella Chevalier repeatedly licked her fingers and matted down the cowlick of hair upon his head. Those few hairs always stood up anyway, and after a minute or so, his mother's saliva hair gel would fail and they'd spring right back up again. But alas, he waited patiently as she fussed, even if he was dying to get on the Hogwarts Express.

Granted, he didn't mind so much UNTIL he noticed a girl right there with a perfect view of him. And wasn't that... yes, that was that girl from Diagon Alley. Sam had just opened his mouth to inform his mum that she could totally stop any time now, but there was no need because the woman was now already preoccupied with scolding her husband for forgetting something or other. Sam tuned them both out as he approached the redhead.

"Hey, you're the girl from Diagon Alley.." he noted aloud.

Genny was too busy looking like a muggle and blending in to notice the small family a little further ahead. That was until the mother started heatedly talking to the father, almost like her own mother did even though Genny believed her father was perfect and didn't need reprimanding.

A smile etched across her face when Sharks boy seemed to be THE one approaching her... and belonged to the Tate-like family. "Hi! And you're the boy with the Sharks swimsuit," she countered with a growing grin before she looked back at his parents, the luggage they carried and moved closer to him. "You're going to Hogwarts?" Abiding by the rules and whispering when appropriate. "Me too. I'm just waiting for dad to bring the rest of my stuff then we'll go through the wall." Because the boy needed to hear her today's plans as should everyone. It was an important day for the Tates; Genny is going to Hogwarts.

The boy with the sharks swimsuit, yes. That was him all right, and he gave a smile and nodded. Ironically, today he was wearing a shirt with swordfish on it, too. Not that swordfish were as cool as sharks, but they were still cool. Anything with the word 'sword' in it, really, was pretty cool.

He nodded a second time, this time to confirm that he too was going to Hogwarts. You know, once his parents got their act together. And apparently for her, once her father got the rest of her things. "Sounds like you packed a lot.." he mentioned, wondering what exactly she needed at school other than clothes and the required school supplies. It wouldn't really be practical to pack too much, he thought. He slid his left hand into his pocket, but not his right because there already seemed to be something in there. "So, what house do you think you'll get into?"

Genny didn't notice the fish shirt right away. It wasn't until he drew attention to his outfit by hiding only one hand in his pocket. She looked at the visible hand for a moment before raising her eyebrows. "Not really. Two trunks and my owl." Pause. "Where's your pet?" Because there was no cage or toad or a feline anywhere nearby. He must've forgotten it.

Hogwarts talk! She put her hair behind both ears and started off excitedly, "I don't know, my uncles say I'm like dad so maybe Gryffindor, but they also say I ask a lot so maybe I have some Ravenclaw from my mum's side. But if I have to choose,I think I'd choose Gryffindor, like Harry Potter and daddy. But I wouldn't be mad if I get Ravenclaw, my mum's really smart, she's always right and wins in arguments." That was Genny throwing facts left and right. "I'm definitely not a Slytherin, though" Making a face at this appropriate time.

"... you?" She took a step closer because they were friends now. Sharks Boy was her obvious second friend that had no relations to her family, this going-to-school thing was proving to be so successful so far.

Well, two trunks was still more than his one. When she asked about his pet, he grinned and gently put his hand in his pocket to retrieve the lizard. "Here," he answered, now holding him out for her to see. "Cool, huh? His name's Taco. He's a Green Anole." And Sam was very fond of him.

He listened to her predictions and the reasoning behind them. Ironically, it was similar to what he thought for himself, and his smile showed his approval. "I think I'll be either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, too." And though he didn't say so, he was rooting a little more for Gryffindor. If that was the house attributed to adventure and daring, then Sam wanted to be those things, to possess the characteristics of knights and heroes. Though intelligence, wittiness, and creativity were qualities he wanted, too... huh. "My mum was a Slytherin, but that seems least like me," he admitted, not missing the face she made when mentioning the house.

Genny's eyes widened and fell out of her face at the sight of the MOST COOLESTEST PET EVER. How did she miss asking for a lizard?? It was a lot of fun taking care of a hairless, color-changing creature! "Wooow," she said openly leaning forward and putting her hands on her knees to look closely at Taco. "It looks so... leathery." She wanted to touch it but... better idea. "Do you want to put it in my owl's cage and see what happens?" Her eyes were so wide you could see her brains.

His mother was a Slytherin?? Genny tried to do that thing where her dad told her that she didn't have to categorize everyone she met into two categories. Or three. Or at all. She nodded, "Do you have a name or do I call you Sharksy?" Hehehhehe.

... Sharksy was a very good nickname if you ask her.

Sam grinned proudly as he witnessed her fascination. Taco was very cool, and he was very glad to find that she thought so, too. He was about to tell her that she could go on and pet him - that was, until she made that suggestion. "Are you kidding?!" Instinctively, he withdrew Taco. "Just because his name is Taco doesn't mean he's your owl's dinner." And for added comfort, Sam petted the lizard along the spine.

Sharksy? No, no, no. No Sharksy. "I'm Sam," he answered quickly. "Sam Chevalier. And you?"
