Int'l Cooperation Lobby Magical Cooperation http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps31f1037c.jpg Graphic done by Becky You step out of the lifts into a large spacious lobby designed mainly in black and white. Groups of Sofa's with two chairs each, and a lovely table with a potted plant, surround a black rug. Beautiful lamps and natural light the room, with the floor to ceiling windows. A reception desk is to one end, at which you might find a member of International Cooperation. If you are in need of immediate assistance, Gidyun Yenorin's office is right to the side of the desk. Otherwise directly ahead of the lifts, lie the work areas. ooc: Open RP Area. Any ministry personnel may RP here. |
Another day of work. Quinn was sipping yet another cup of coffee, yawning, bouncing on her heels, and looking distaste-fully at the mess. UGH. It seemed like no matter how much she tried to clean up, more took its place. Sigh. She click-clacked through the lobby, anxious to being work. |
Scowling, Charles finally stumbled his way into the lobby area and looked around. "Now REALLY. This is ridiculous!" Had no-one thought to clean the ENTRANCE to the floor? Frustrated, Charles took out his wand and righted all the furniture. Well, he'd start with the papers now. One wave of his wand had all the papers flying to one chair, and another swish had all the wood pieces gathering themselves into a pile. The place at least looked like it wasn't going to be a danger to anyone now. Frowning so much that he actually looked frustrated for once, Charles started at one end of the office and checked over each piece of furniture for any marks. His eyes narrowed curiously every now and again, but he just silently noted anything usual he saw. Maybe he could give the lobby a makeover? Get rid of those horrendous leather chairs? And the GREEN! Ugh! Once the lobby was tidier and furniture was put back into its place, Charles moved over to the wood pieces and put them into a bag, just as he did with the papers too. Neither looked like they should have been okay for people to touch, so he did his best to touch them as little as possible by putting them into a bag using his handkerchief. His brown eyes scanned the floor and a deep sigh sounded from him as he realised that using magic wasn't going to get the floor clean. "Give me strength." he muttered as he leant his head back with his eyes closed. He summoned up a hoover with a scowl and started hoovering the floor. Maybe he should be wearing a little apron? Should he have cookies in the oven too? He wasn't here to clean up, he was here to do his REAL job! |
He walked into the lobby to see how things were looking and if there was anything that he could do to help. What a mess this had been, as soon as everything was tidied up it was time for renovating. The work areas were looking pretty good now and all he had to do was get the orders in and hopefully by the time the ministry reopened everything would be ready for the new and returning employees to begin work once again. Looking around he smiled at what all had been done and saw Charles there "It's looking really good!" |
Looking up when Gidyun walked into the area, Charles nodded and cleaned the last part of the office before looking around. "I have ideas for the lobby. I wrote them down for you and drew a floor plan for it too." he fished out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Gidyun. "On the other side is a list of what was damaged and anything peculiar I noticed about HOW it had been damaged." Like teeth marks. He tapped on the hoover with his wand and watched it disappear. "This will do for now, but we need to upgrade everywhere if we're going to be efficient. I can give you a list of ideas I have for each area on the level. Including your office." His tone wasn't condescending, nor was it commanding, he was just telling Gidyun he had ideas and he wanted them to be listened to. |
He took the paper from him and started looking over the floor plan and nodding as he spoke. "That'll help with replacing and not having to go completely through everything to find what needs to be replaced." he said with a wry look but thankful for it. "Yeah, the chizpurfles really did a number on everything throughout the ministry, not leaving anything untouched it appears." He looked up again as Charles spoke "I'd like to upgrade everything anyway, so I'd love your input. We need to get it all sorted, we really haven't done it from what I've heard, since Gina left. It could do with quite a bit of changes. If we're lucky we'll have it ready with the holidays coming up before everyone returns. I'd love to hear those ideas." |
"Mhmm." Of course, Charles was the model of efficiency. The same couldn't be said about Gidyun, but heck, the man did enough work to make it seem like he was running the place. Sort of. "I can do that. I have an interest in interior design and I have some ideas for this place." He straightened up again, taking a deep breath. "Shall we discuss it in your office while we clean up?" he offered, looking at the door that was barely hanging in the doorway. |
Seriously? He sure hadn't expected to hear that from him! "Awesome, I'd honestly love to hear them. It'd be nice to have the place updated, no more of the old furniture and decor." Looking towards his office he nodded "Sounds good. Let's go do that." Somehow he'd find a pen and paper and stick this note to a wall that wasn't destroyed in there so he could do the orders for the new look and furniture and anything else that was destroyed during the fiasco. |
International Magical Cooperation However, besides the following, I am adding some positions! These are not described as of yet, but if your character falls under it you may be chosen for it!
------------------------------------ These are members of the Wizarding World, not necessarily Ministry employees, that serve International Confederation of Wizards. More positions are added constantly so if you have something in mind or have skills you think would benefit level 5, apply! Please understand we need to be realistic in hiring. For example, if you want an ambassador position, your character shouldn't be 19-30 |
Deeep breathing, Ravaora was doing that. After she was done here, perhaps she would try a little yoga herself. Lucky gooses having that seminar to help them. The past few days had been stressful and strange, never before had she gone through so many emotions at once but this knitting had her CALM. Soooooo calm. Could no one else feel the air? How still it was? Magical. The Healer sat on her cushion with a basket of yarn for company. The others would arrive soon enough, if they wanted to live that is. Who didn't want to live though? It was a given. It was just to enjoy the quiet until the unruly bunch of sceptics arrived. |
Was she here for the fibers knitting and quilting session? Heck to the NO. She had completely forgot that was even going on. Only paying attention to her flashy new badge. Mhmm. She was here because she had made it a point to waltz around a couple of the levels to show off. She hadn't gotten any congratulatory hugs yet and it was already getting late!! Well... Not really. BUT WHERE WERE HER FLOWERS?! Wasn't anyone going to say anything about the badge? Yes. She went out and bought herself the most expensive, flashy "Employee of the Month" badge she could find. Only the best couture for the best. The plaque just wasn't enough. So level 5 it was. Although walking around in heels was hardly the way to go. And then she came across a room. Oooh maybe someone from the department was hiding out in there? Did they have flowers for her? Congratulatory hugs? Only one way to find out and so she clickety-clackety-heel-toed her way inside. ........ O___________O And there. Right in front of her. Was the INSANE, unqualified, healer woman. Wait a minute! Maybe SHE wanted to give her a congratulatory hug!! |
Ravaora had just separated a decent length of yarn to begin the calming magic of knitting when the click clack of heels then the flustered appearance of Miss Pryce drew for her attention. "Hello! Hello! Welcome! Glad to see you taking my advice and bringing the matter of health back into your own hands. Marvelous Love! Have a seat!" With that, she sprung up from her own seat and hurried over to usher the woman further into the room "You're free to pick any cushion and your favourite colours of yarn then we can get RIGHT to it!" Could she feel it? The diseases already leaving her body even while they spoke in this calm atmosphere? Don't fight it, just breath in then out and kniiiitttt. |

And then those eyes. Those crazy eyes again. The 24 year old had only just realized what she had gotten herself into, just when the 'bringing the matter of health back into your own hands' thing started. But by then it was only too late. UH OH. Before she could even back away she was being ushered over to a cushion and uh, did this woman really think that Tiffany Price was going to be sitting on those? Uh, no. Her outfit was MUCH too expensive for those old things. "I'd uh, rather not like sit on the ground..." Plus uh... What the heck was going on here and why was there so much yarn? "Please don't tell me you're planing on making friendship bracelets because those things look way cheap and too schoolgirl for me." Besides, hardly any of these colors would work with her-- Wait. O___O She wasn't really going to join in on this... on this... on this... Uh, whatever this was, right? And uh did this woman not realize she was talking to the employee of the |
"OH MY MERLIIIIIIIIIIN." She was HERE. Incredibly late, but still HERE. She had even brought along some of her Vegan Witch's Brew potions for that oh-so-necessary energy boost that everyone attending today would tooooootally need. "Rav Rav, I am just SO happy you are doing this," she bashee shrieked at her bestie for LIFE as she entered with loud THUMP THUMP THUMPING of her heels against the floor. "YOU, are TOTALLY suffering from Loquentes Ieiuniumtis, you POOR dear," Loranys loudly lamented as she swooped on over to the SAD lady (ArianaBlack). "Good thing you came today. The first step to healing is admitting you have a problem." She then gave the lady a beautifully tight squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze hug. "If Rav Rav wants us to make friendship bracelets I think you and MEEEEEE should exchange. Can you sense the way our auras are pulsating in sequence with one another. OOOOOOH this can be Loranys' and yours day of FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!" |
There. Was nothing. To worry about. Nothing. Nothing. Gavin did his best to keep as composed as humanly possible with the thought of running into at least one of those Healers at this...seminar of sorts. Hadn't the examination been enough? Hadn't their presence been enough? If he never saw another living person for the rest of his life it would be TOO SOON. If no one ever touched him again, he'd be happier than his nieces at Florean's. Deep breaths Gavin, remember the deep breathing. The Senior Underscretary entered the room cautiously but stopped after maybe two or three steps because it was HER. "You never told me she'd be here." He muttered to Aron....Aron...? Gavin gave a slight turn of his head to eye his companion but found him gone. hsbdjkfhygysatrcwydtf O___________O *WHEEZE* |
Her face EXPLODED into a smile when she saw WHO had just entered. IT'S WAS HEART THROB MCGAV! OH OH OOOOOOOOH it was so hot in here now! Would Hottie McHotter be here too? Someone would have to catch her if he did. OH OH OOOOOOOOOOOOH!! "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII," she cackled as she gave the Senior Undersecretary a finger wiggling wave. |
He was running late. On purpse really. He was rather hoping that arriving late to one of these shindigs would be like how things were at university. Show up late, professor gives you lip, sends you away because you disrupted their classroom. So he was banking on them sending him away to meditate or whatever on his lack of appreciation for time. Probably throw some potion at him to drink too. Help with memory and whatever else was being diagnosed as being influenced by his so-called ... whatever that ailment was he had been diagnosed with. Entering the room, and only because he promised Gavin he would tag along so no one could say they weren't supporting whatever this was, he froze in the doorway and snorted loudly when he saw the frizzy haired honking daffodil fawning over his mate. "Sorry I'm late," he said, forced exasperation in his tone. "Guess I'll just have to catch the next one then." Aw snap. So sad. Sorry Gavin, even if the expression went bros before everything else...he wasn't willing to endure this for anyone. Best of luck there, mate! |
Still shaking his head at the waste of time that was him now checking to see if a room was empty instead of getting on with his paperwork, Charles reached for the handle and opened the door to the testing lab. His eyes instantly widened when he saw people in the room and no tables, but instead, cushions. "I errr... think this room is taken." He'd just... go tell Gidyun. Yep. And leave this floor to work somewhere else that was nowhere near the knitting weirdos. Forever. |
Dmitry finished off the Vatrushka his babushka had given him when he'd visited on the weekend as he stepped into the lobby. The treat had been delicious as always and worth the walk back to his car, even though it had taken up his lunch break to retrieve it. He was just glad he wasn't going to have to eat at his desk today. It had become something of a regular occurrence lately but not an enjoyable one. He guessed he wasn't being paid to eat though. He got paid to be productive. Which was why he'd used the remainder of his lunch break to grab some files he needed rather than coming straight back up so he could spend ten minutes resting. That wouldn't have been productive though so he'd grabbed them before coming up and he was flicking through one of them while he walked, hopefully avoiding all people and furniture that might be in his way. |
Charles had put down some files on as he tried to collect the papers that the owl had just scattered all over the floor and was now trying to get them into a pile so he could actually read them and sort through them, but before he knew it, there was a looming shadow. He stood up and stepped back. "Dmitry!" he tried to warn him about the pile of papers. Oh, please say he didn't have to gather them together again! |
Stopping short when his name was called Dmitry looked up from the file he'd been perusing and looked around the lobby for the person who was attempting to get his attention. Only to realise that they were standing almost uncomfortably close to him. Taking a slight step back Dmitry smiled politely at the older man. "Charles. Can I help you with anything?" he asked, not noticing the pile of papers on the floor that he'd only narrowly avoided walking into. |
"Not anymore. You stopped just in time." he stooped down again and started collecting the papers again. "Anything interesting?" he asked, indicating the file with his head. |
And here...was her final stop on her cooookie adventures. For today, at least. She...she knew Dmitry was in this department..and she had baked him cookies. FINALLY after about a YEAR of owing him some--HERE THEY WERE. Heh. She smiled nervously and pulled at her jacket's sleeve as she timidly peeked into the lobby. TIMID. SINCE WHEN ARE YOU TIMID, EMBER?!? The naturally brunette girl tucked some of her turquoise hair behind her ear and felt...this STRANGE sensation in her tummy as she patiently waited for someone to show up--Hoping DESPERATELY for it to be MITYA. She missed him...ahem, more than she would admit to anyone out loud. Her mother already had suspicions about this.."Dmitry" she was always going on about..HMPH. The Pest Controller felt at a loss for words for the first time....ever. Ever ever. But she just..planted a smiiiiile on her face and waited for SOMEONE to show up,...yeah? |
SPOILER!!: Ember Dmitry was at a bit of a loss for what to do. There really hadn't been all that much work for him to do this morning, although he was sure more would trickle in later and there was only so much time he could spend reading the same file to look busy. Which was why he'd decided to take a coffee break since that would give him at least a few minutes where he didn't have to pretend to look busy. He was also contemplating trying to find Ember only he didn't want to interrupt her work or get her in trouble with her boss if she was busy. He'd think on it. Nevertheless it appeared that his deciding to take a break was also timely as a woman was standing in the office looking like an awkward turtle with no one around to welcome her. Maybe she was new? Or, on second thoughts, definitely not new. Although why she was standing in the lobby he didn't know. "Ember," Dmitry called, voice warm and smile bright and welcoming as he approached her from the side. "I like the hair by the way, Turquoise suits you," Dmitry told her once he was closer, contemplating leaning in for a hug but unsure if he should in a work environment. He did like to be professional, especially when Charles or Gidyun might be able to see. He feared Charles' disapproval more than his bosses if he was being honest with himself. "Can I help you with anything, were you looking for Gidyun or someone else?" he asked quickly once the fact that this could very easily be a work related issue came to mind. He did hope it wasn't though since then they could talk. |
SPOILER!!: MIMI Ember whipped around, hearing juuuuust the voice she wanted to hear--her cheeks flushed, and her eyes wide and shiny. "Oh--Mitya--HI--" she said as she quickly gave him a hug and stepped back. No need to..let the hug...linger...or anything..even if..he did smell...wonderfulahem. "Th-thanks. I go back and forth with..blue and..turquoise..and then..sometimes my natural color." why did she feel shy? Feelings were dumb. Ember just wanted to act normal. Like she had before...their little friend!date thing. "OH..." she looked down, feeling a bit embaressed. "Actually...neither...I...I wanted to see you." DUN DUN DUN. Ember had admitted it. "I baked these for you--" she said softly, holding out the plate of cookies to him. "I hope you...like cookies..." who didn't like cookies? BISCUITS? C'mon! "I'm on break and..yeah. Here." She smiled all wide at him, kind of shyly, and felt..weird. Weird like...a teenager. Oh no. TEENAGER FEELINGS...those were the...WOOOORST. Could she hide now? |
