Golden Gates

At the end of the long corridor of floos is a pair of magnificent Golden Gates that Ministry employees and visitors alike must pass through to gain entrance to the Atrium. Stationed behind a podium at the Ministry's entrance, and impossible to miss as you pass through the gates, is our wonderful Welcome Witch. The young woman is there not only to greet all that enter the Ministry, but also to assist visitors in any way she can. Between directing visitors and answering what ever questions they may have, the Welcome Witch can be found handing out smiley face stickers to match that warm smile of hers. Beside her is a sign-in sheet that all visitors wishing to enter must sign and get a pass before heading inside the Ministry proper. Naturally all Ministry employees don't need to do this, they have their respective department badges after all.

Your character should pass through here before entering the Ministry proper. This is where visitors are encouraged to Roleplay! Our Welcome Witch is a non-playable character who is very efficient and what she does. Once you have signed in, feel free to post on through to the appropriate area of the Ministry, (just make sure you start by coming through here, pick up a visitors pass, and be willing to accept the consequences if its a restricted area!)

Having exited the floo and spending somewhere around 10 minutes removing any soot and other unwanted passengers he had collected on his way here, the Astronomy professor eager strolled to the sign-in book and threw the Welcome Witch a quick salute. Students could not have boarded that train faster this morning and the man felt a tiny bit of guilt for having all but tossed one Gryffindor first year on to the train with her belongings. They had landed on their feet, however, so no need for any real concern.

Other than the alarm and unease they would surely feel when their paths crossed again. Alas.

Setting the quill down, he regretted that he did not have an invitation to show to the woman should she ask for proof. Mysteries had always been a department that had fascinated him, and watching his invitation go up in flames on his desk had been quite exciting. Even something as simple as an invitation to a lunch was to have no paper trail. Fascinating!

Accepting his visitor badge, and grumbling a bit at how clunky it was, he placed it on his jacket just below his enchanted breast pocket. Now...to see if he remembered how to ride in these lifts. Had been a while since he had stepped foot into the Ministry on official business.

Floo transportation. She hadn't liked it before nor was she going to start liking it now. Alas, it was the only way she could enter the Ministry on time to reach her appointment. She didn't want to be late for this.

Having reached the gates, she flashed the Welcome Witch with a small smile then promptly proceeded to sign in on the provided sheet.

After doing so and having received a visitors pass, the brunette went on her way. She trusted herself not to have any problems locating the Department Head's office. She had been anticipating for this meeting ever since she returned to London after all.

Galen was officially a Ministry Employee and he had the badge to prove it; technicallyhe didn't start until tomorrow but he imagined his first day would be a rather busy one and he wanted to go ahead and get as much of the red tape taken care of that his move to London had caused. He dusted a bit of Floo ash from the sleeve of his neared the gates.
he greeted the Welcome Witch with a "Good Morning."and a polite smile as he signed in.

William wasn't new here; he wasn't even a visitor. He was quite familiar with the Ministry and all its entrances, and merely flipped his badge at the Welcome Witch as he continued on his way toward the lifts. He was trying to catch someone he thought he was following for a reason, though...

"Hey," he caught up to the guy and tapped him gently on his shoulder. Gently, because he was pretty sure the other man was MLE. "You dropped this," he added, holding out a thin black wallet in his other hand.

As Galen started away from the Welcome Desk he felt someone tap his shoulder. He turned to find a man standing behind him with his hand out stretched. You dropped this, noticing the black wallet Galen automatically reached for his pocket and sure enough his was missing. He turned it over and saw his initials pressed into the corner of the leather it was definitely his. " Thank You Could have been a disaster not having that later " he admitted as he tucked it securely into his jacket pocket.

When perfect opportunities presented themselves, it was almost criminal to not take advantage. Perhaps that was just her former Hogwarts' Slytherin training speaking, but Marilyn still, after all these years, felt it was wisdom to live by.

So.

When the blonde click-clacked away from the Ministry Daycare, having spotted a potential target, she approached the two men casually. This was not out the ordinary as Marilyn had a natural confidence about herself; which made interactions with her co-workers less awkward. Poor Galen, however. She'd met him at orientation, and thought him to be a very pleasant man.

Too bad she was about to destroy him. FIGURATIVELY. This was all in good fun.

Casually sashaying by, her heels still sounding against the stone floor of the Atrium, Mar recalled her old Chaser skills and hurled her ball at Galen's back...and just like that, she continued on her way, pausing only to make sure the eagle has landed, per say.

"No problem," William replied cheerfully, happy to help someone out. This someone, though, he'd had an eye on. It was no coincidence that the man had dropped his wallet. It was fate. Willy fell in step with Galen as they headed toward the lifts, thinking of perhaps making small talk with him...

But then... BAM! A ball zoomed into the guy's back from seemingly nowhere! William's eyes widened as he looked around for the person responsible, spotting, only for a moment, the woman from Accidents & Catastrophes. Willy made eye contact with her only long enough for him to nod coolly at her, and then he looked back at Galen to check that he was alright.

"You okay, man? No harm done, I think that was just a foam ball. Which floor are you headed to?" He pushed a 4 for himself.

Galen heard the soft click of heels on the tiles behind him as Willy fell into step beside him distracting him breifly from the steps behind them.

He arched his brow curiously did I even actually drop my wallet or was that part of your plan from the start?" he asked playfully.

Darn, the new guy had him figured out. Still, that had worked so smoothly that he couldn't help grinning a bit to himself.

"You didn't drop it," William admitted. "When I was walking behind you, I frayed a small hole in your pocket so the wallet fell out. You might have to repair your trousers later, no offense." Heh heh heh. That had worked so well though, and Marilyn had been right on time as planned.

*winks*

S U C C E S S !

Smirking to herself as the ball hit its mark, Marilyn continued on towards the lifts; neither confirming or denying that the attack had come from her, personally.

Though...Galen had probably figured it out. Oops. He did seem very astute, being a critical part of the MLE. That was a requirement, wasn't it?

Alas! She'd try to be more stealthy next time!

" None Taken, I probably would have done the same given the chance., had he not been eliminated already. even though he was now technically out of the game he had to admit it was nice to see the ministry had company wide games like this from time to time, it was entertaining too. Galen stepped on to the lift with Marilyn and Willy. I'm gonna have to watch my back better around you two." He joked as he pushed the button for level 2.

Hope had been to the Ministry on a few occasions, but she wasn't here often. Her wifes on the otherhand, both worked here. In different departments, but still; they were here. SO. Here was the only place she wanted to be right now. Well, technically she didn't want to be in the atrium walking towards a gorgeous set of gates that on any other occasion she would happily look at for about half an hour just in wonder...

But right now, she needed to get to Mammy and Level... Three. She was pretty sure it was level three. Looking around, she got quickly to the front of the queue and filled in the forms required so that she could get a visitors badge.

She was coming Mammy!
