Fruit Bowl https://i.postimg.cc/4NVZjcTG/fruit-bowl-banner.jpg Out of all of the paintings hanging on the walls of the basement corridor, the one depicting a silver fruitbowl is an easy favourite for some of those here at Hogwarts. While many may think that there is nothing special about this particular painting, those who are well-informed about its purpose know what lies beyond. Past this painting is where all of the food you stuff in your mouth three or more times a day is made. |
~open~ Karleigh was on a mission. Well, not so much a mission, but she had a lot of memories she wanted to capture this year before she was gone for good. Basically she was creating a scrapbook of Hogwarts. She wished she'd had the idea to capture memories all the way back in first year so she'd have lots of pictures of friends and the things they'd done throughout the years here. But she supposed there was something to be said for living in the moment and really experiencing what was happening, rather than trying to immortalize every detail. And it wasn't as if she didn't have any pictures. She just really wanted to capture as many aspects of the castle and Hogwarts life as she could this year since she wouldn't be back. Karleigh was going to start from the bottom of the castle and work her way up, so today she had gone down to the basement, carrying the camera she had gotten on her last birthday. She'd thought about photographing some of the elves hard at work in the kitchens, but she paused when she got in front of the fruit bowl painting. Well of course she had to take a picture of the magical entrance to the kitchens. *CLICK* Now, could she get someone to tickle the pear while she took a picture, to capture just how the entrance was opened? |

With those thoughts swirling around, arriving at the entrance to the kitchens felt even shorter than usual. And it appeared she was not alone, as a slightly older girl was standing nearby with a camera. "Oh, sorry," she said, offering a small smile, "I didn't mean to interrupt." Not trying to sneak into her pictures or anything. |
Back to zooming around the corridors, Peeves was once again haphazardly sending out spells from his special book, though a little more resignedly and huffily than he had been when this excellent idea had started. He wanted more FUN. More ENTERTAINMENT. More MISCHIEF. Always MORE. Oh, speaking of, there was one down there. Peeves, who had zoomed past the end of the corridor, revered back and sent another sneaky spell down the way and at the one girl (Kayla) with his trusty book, before continuing on his way again. |
Hearing a voice, Karleigh turned slightly, just as she had finished taking a picture. "Oh, you didn't interrupt," she assured the younger girl with a smile. "I was just getting some pictures around the castle. It's my last year so I wanted to make sure I got everything." Even if the fruit bowl seemed a little arbitrary. "Actually..." she paused and looked at the other girl a moment. "Would you mind if I took a picture of you tickling the pear? Or you could take a picture of me, if you'd rather." Especially since she didn't know the girl at all, maybe it would make more sense that way. Hopefully that wasn't too weird a request. But before she could say anymore or hand the girl her camera, she caught a movement out of the corner of her eye. "Peeves!" She turned towards the poltergeist just as he zoomed off down the corridor. "What is he doing now?" |
