Hopefully you aren’t too tired from your trek to the North Tower and up through the circular trapdoor. As you climb into the Divination classroom, you notice a few things. You notice once again that like the previous professors, Sarika had added her own touch to the classroom. For one, the place was not stifling due to closed windows or heavy scents. The atmosphere was light and of a relaxing nature. Circular tables graced the room, set with either two or three chairs. On each table were candles of various colours, one assigned to a chair. Beside each candle sat in a sturdy, heat resistant holder. In the center of the tables, is a compartmentalised container. What are the pinkish, grainy contents you wonder, that filled three of the four compartments? If that weren’t enough to pique your curiosity, then maybe the mixture of thinly cut green herbs in the fourth compartment would?
Come in, have a seat! Get comfortable, but not too much! Since the lesson was scheduled directly after your lunch break, Professor Joshi would not appreciate you falling asleep. The woman herself stood at the front of the classroom adding some finishing touches to the words on the whiteboard:

After the candles were set and Diego lit the flame, he focused deeply on his thoughts. Personal thoughts.. Will Daddy and Papa love Declan more than me? No, he knew the answer to that or at least what they would tell him. Even if his heart questioned it. He also wanted to ask about his crush on a certain someone but even that seemed like a waste... Well, there was one more important one.
My mum... has she found peace and safety?
The flame began to flicker, it wasn't weak, at least, and the color danced between white and black. Diego blinked rapidly before wiping his eyes. There was a little hope there. Right now if you asked, he was blaming the tears on him not blinking for nearly a minute. And that was when the class was dismissed.
Diego sighed. He didn't get a definitive answer, the signs weren't bad or good, which was in a way still positive. He blew out the flame, cleared up, and jotted down the assignment before he placed his bag over his shoulder. "Thank you, Professor. I... learned a lot. Hope you have a good one." Smiling before he departed with the others.

If you get distracted by someone or something then you won't be focusing intently on your flame."
The lesson moved on and they were first supposed to think up a personal question they wanted to use for the reading. Rose's thoughts immediatly went to Kartik of Ravenclaw who she thought was quite dashing. Would he want to spend time with her more frequently, and not just during dates? Could he love her? Blushing pink Rose quickly looked around, erm, no the flame reading couldn't tell her that surely, could it?
Hiding a cough behind her hands Rose quickly pulled out her wand. Oops she had almost missed the next instruction because she was thinking about Kartik and his memerizing eyes. Stealing a glance at her nearest peer Rose mimicked the wand movement and casted "Incendio!" on her chosen candle. As it lit up Rose sat up straight, and relaxed her shoulders as she started to stare into her flame thinking Will Kartik become in love with me?. While she kept her attention her flame it began to dance and turn into a color that Rose thought off as lion red. That was a good sign wasn't it? When her eyes began to water, and her head started to hurt just a bit Rose was glad that the reading was over. She blew out her candle before jotting down the homework assignment on a piece of parchment. Rose cleaned her table and gathered up her things before calling out "Goodbye Professor Joshi!" on her way to the door.
Rose needn’t worry, it was quite okay as mistakes happened. The question was acknowledged with enthusiasm. When it came to the second activity, Sarika couldn’t help but note that Rose was another one to blush. Knowing teenagers, she figured the blushing most likely stemmed from thinking about her love life. The Gryffindor seemed okay with the results, however.
“Until we meet again, my dear!” Because Sarika though that ‘goodbye’ sounded so… final; like she and the other person would not meet after the current one.

She may have imagined it, but studying Diego, Sarika thought that he spent a tad more time than the others brainstorming his question. That was quite alright; it was supposed to be an important one.
The flame’s alternating between black and white as reference to whatever question Diego silently asked clearly evoked a lot of emotions in him. “You’re welcome to stop by to discuss your interpretations further if you like, Diego.” Perhaps she could offer some clarity on things he wanted to know. “Many thanks. Thank you, you as well.”

Having grown up around someone who practiced Divination on the regular - and even taught the subject for several years here at Hogwarts which had Tiffany wondering if her mum had taught Professor Joshi?, Tiffany wasn't opposed to the heavy scents however she was grateful that the ambiance was comfortable. In a way the lack of scents would maybe offer some greater clarity to her predictions.
Fire safety. Of course they would discuss that to start off the lesson. Although at least the castle lent itself to a relatively fireproof structure, what with the stone but there were still things that could burn such as their robes - so definitely one thing for fire safety would be keeping their robes a safe distance from the flames.
Cleansing candles? Intriguing but it also made sense in the same ways that heavy scents could stifle one's thoughts she imagined so would an impure candle. Taking her candle, she rolled it in the Himalayan salt as instructed. Then gently dusted it off. "Adhaero," she cast, sticking the candle into the holder. Perhaps another precaution for fire safety so that the candle didn't accidentally topple over. Breathing in on the chopped herbs, Tiffany found herself smiling in the familiar memory for a moment, savoring the pleasant aromas before taking a pinch and sprinkling it over the candle. And then another pinch for good measure.
As she waited next steps, she pondered Professor Joshi's questions. Probably not be so specific with the questions. Yes or no questions would likely garner accuracy, rather than something super specific such as 'on what date will i meet the love of my life and marry him', but rather, framing it as 'will i find true love?' instead.
Which since she was thinking about that, it was the question the fourth year Slytherin decided to think about when lighting her candle. "Will I find true love?", clearing her mind, staring at the flame, unblinking ... she waited and watched the flame flicker to a shade of blue. Interesting... Blue and flickering.
She looked at the interpretations in the textbook, scribbling them down in her notes:
Blue: Communication, wisdom, and peace.
Flickering Flame
Meaning: Instability, distractions
Interpretation: A flickering flame suggests external influences attempting to interfere with your goals. Pay attention to sudden changes in your surroundings or any additional signs that may reveal hidden messages.
So ... perhaps she would, but only with proper communication and once she was at peace? However she needed to ward off the external distractions in order to achieve the goal. So it wasn't necessarily a no, but it was rather a - need to focus in order to achieve the goal and to pay attention to her surroundings?
Aww, boo. Lesson was over. Blowing out her candle, she would definitely need to visit the oracle chamber to revisit some more questions on this. "Thanks Professor," she said sliding her notes into her bag.

Throughout the lesson, Sarika kept an eye on the quiet students, ensuring that they were following along as the lesson progressed. Naturally, this included Tiffany. To her satisfaction, the Slytherin seemed to be following along quite well. The woman was quite pleased with the observation. As for the candle’s flame, the flickering and blue shade were noted, which in her opinion, was an interesting combination.
“You’re quite welcome, Rose. I’ll see you around.” Sarika gave the fourth year a warm smile as she departed.
