| | Book Signing by Fireplace The area by the fireplace has been cleared of it's usual furniture and temporarily redone for the first book signing of the season. The cushioned couches are all still arranged by the fireplace, but it's obvious their main focus is the long rectangular table covered in a soft blue cloth and nearby, a smaller circular one.
On the other side of the long table sits winning contributor Norma Smith, author of short story The Secret Ingredient. She is here to sign your copy of the book and warm you with her smile. Paperback and hardback copies of the newly released book are stacked neatly on both sides of the long table, some propped up and showing off their pages. The limited edition hardback copies also include the signatures of the other contributors, but don't forget to get Norma to sign it too!
Should that glowing smile of hers not do it, maybe a tasty mug of Plimpy soup will? The soup is provided on the smaller circular table in an ever-heated cauldron, free for all who attend this event. The mugs are set to one side, ready for you to ladle yourself some Plimpy goodness. Goodie bags are also available for those who purchase a book, simply show your proof of purchase to the store manager and he will provide one just for you.
The Whizz Hard book publishing staff are floating around and always willing to chat with the public, and so are the other authors who showed up! Enjoy all the freebies and have a chat about the new book with all who attend. Freebees in the bags are quills, a voucher, a sheet of stickers and a badge/button. Quote:
OOC: The first volume of Plimpy Soup for the Wizarding Soul can be found here. If you wish for your character to submit a story for this edition you still can! Click here! There are more IC books being worked on currently and we encourage all of you to contribute with a chapter written by your character.

| *shyly posts first* Talikins|Huffledor|Purple|Ted Velvet| |Lochnessie|Redhead|Bladger|⅓ Ferocious Trio Work. That thing was boring and it was vital you took off a day every now and then. Having called his boss telling him he was sick, Dartanian now had all the free time in the world. He had planned on staying in bed and sleeping all day, but his annoying sister had to phone him and wake him up asking him to do some errands.
Siblings. Meehh. Who needed them?
Even though, Dart didn't like his sister too much, she was one of the only people he respected and it was because of this that he actually got dressed and headed off to Diagon Alley for her. She wanted a few things, in fact she had given him a whole list. On top of the list was a book title, one Dart had never heard of before. He shrugged at it and then entered the only bookstore he had ever seen in London.
With the list in his hand, Dart looked at what he wrote and tried to find a book with the same title, but there was nothing. He spotted a long, blue table nearby a fire place and headed over there hoping to find this silly book.
He noticed a woman sitting down, crowded around by people. He shoved passed them all and gave her a small smirk. Maybe if he charmed her she would help him. Smirking. More smirking. "Em..ezcooze me Mizz, but do you knew where I cen find zeez..." Dartanian stopped in mid sentence and began staring at the book's cover before him with a glazed expression.
Blink. He shook his head and then instead of continuing his sentence he showed the lady his list pointing at the title of the book he needed. ' Pleempy Soop for ze Weezerdeeng Sool' That's how he had written it. Not very legible for people that could actually speak English. |

| Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Today was the big day! Norma was grinning from ear to ear as she watched people bustle about from the other side of her table. She was excited that the book, with her and all the other contributors’ stories, was finally being released to the wizarding community. Even better, she had been invited to participate in a book signing because she had been selected as the top contributor of the book. With a self-inking quill at hand, the elderly women hoped her hands wouldn’t fall off her arms this evening. That wouldn’t be good at all. No, no, no.
Having been put to work with signing several copies of Plimpy Soup already, she did not notice the man carrying a list until he shoved past a few of them. How rude! But Norma couldn’t help put shake her head and chuckle a little. Did this man think that he could win her over with his charming looks? As adorable as that was, his flirtatiousness was not necessary. She was way too old for a handsome, young man such as himself. What a silly little thing he was.
Oh! He was foreign. Aww. And the poor thing seemed to be really confused. “Umm,” Norma murmured, squinting at the line that the man kindly pointed at. It was a little hard to decipher, but she but two and two together. Why else would he be at Flourish and Botts today? “I think you mean this,” she said, her eyes twinkling, picking up one of the books from the stack beside her. “Would you like me to sign one for you, darling?”

This was going to be a big event, or so he hoped. The delicious smell of soup wafted in his direction and he turned his attention that way. Mm. Lunch. That would have to wait though. Turning back, he rocked back on his heels, hands in his jean pockets as he waited for the crowd to show. In the meantime, he shot a welcoming smile towards the author. This was exciting for her, he noted. She appeared bright eyed and bushy tailed, offering a luminous smile to the young man who approached her.
The goodie bags were awaiting at the counter. Once there were enough people here, he'd make a general announcement. For now though....he'd be content with watching and waiting. Good for business, this was....

| Baguette | there is no D in my name | TRAITORclaw | Queenie of Narnia Ohh, this was the signing for that new book that had recently come out, wasn't it? Vashti had been looking forward to this. She sometimes liked to read the Muggle books that were similar to this one, only with Chicken Soup instead of Plimpy, so this would surely be interesting. And they could actually get it signed! That was always fun.
She picked up one of the hardback copies after flipping one open and discovering that it also contained signatures from the other authors then waited behind the man who was talking to the woman behind the table. She eyed the cauldron of plimpy soup on the other table, considering getting a mug of it while she waited. Hmm...

Stepping into the shop Willow had her camera in hand, and was hoping to get some nice pictures for the Daily Prophet. She saw the older woman, whom she remembered from the Book launch party, who was the author. Snapping a few shots of her with the books she moved to the side hoping to get some shots with her and other readers as well.
As soon as she picked up the book while talking to the gentleman, Willow snapped a few more pictures. Watching as others entered the shop as well, she looked around at the group. Maybe she should get shots of people waiting to talk with the woman!

| ♥Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often♥ Angela came in, expecting a big crowd of sorts maybe.. but there wasn't much, which she was actually glad for. Was she early?
Crowds weren't her favorite, as it meant long queues and lots of waiting. And though she was a woman of patience, today, she just wasn't in the mood for this. And that was exactly the reason she had stepped out of her comfy bed and decided on a trip to Flourish & Blotts. It had been days since she had read new books!
But the main reason she had come here, was because she had heard that Norma Smith was here! Giving out signed book copies! That would make her day!
Eagerly, she picked up a copy from the limited edition shelf, and went through it, flipping its pages, just observing in general.. Ooh! The book contained signatures of other authors too. Good thing that she had come today! |
