There was this theory that smiling immediately made you happier even when you didnt feel like smiling and it was true.“ Do you Hogwarts kids always introduce yourself with your full name?“ Somehow the brunette found that a little strange...maybe Durmstrang kids just werent as polite? Yeah probably that.

The Slytherin took a large sip of her butterbeer and almost chocked on it as she heard his laugh. What happened?! Coughing a little she started laughing too. For no particular reason. „ What did i say? Is there something on my face?Spill?“

She wanted to comment but now it was her that couldnt stop laughing. Was he mocking her? What a bad boy. „I might be, you just havent seen me sly yet“, she winked and drank the last drop of her butterbeer. She was kinda joking, everyone thought she was a bad girl...but really...she wasnt.

Vinnie’s question got Louis to raise one eyebrow slightly. “Us Hogwarts kids?” he repeated, a bit puzzled. If she was a Slytherin, didn’t that mean she attended Hogwarts as well? Unless… “Is this going to be your first year there?” It could be that. He’d only started going to Hogwarts during his fifth year, too.

The boy’s puzzled expression turned amused as Vinnie fell into a fit of laughter. “There’s nothing on your face,” he assured her, shaking his head with a smile. “Your comment was just very honest. It was funny,” he explained, not sure he was making any sense. It probably was a random thing to laugh at, but he didn’t really know many people who were so blunt and just said exactly what they thought. It was new and a little amusing.

“You just haven’t seen me sly yet.”
Oohoho. Louis raised his eyebrows at her. “What are you going to do?” he asked playfully, “Steal my butterbeer when I’m not looking?”

Oh right, she was one of these species called the hogwarts kids now. Actually she had been for a almost a year now. Somehow she hadnt gotten into the feeling yet though. But Louis seemed nice and he was one of that species so maybe Vinnie would start to feel like one of them soon? Who knew, it was way too early to tell. „Oh no, its actually my second“, the brunette nodded,“ but i guess...i havent been socalising a lot my first year? I transfered from Durmstrang.“ So she didnt really feel like she belonged...anywhere or to anyone at Hogwarts. But she would make an effort this year. She wouldnt.

He was laughing cause her comment was honest? That was...surprisingly funny and made her laugh even more. What was going on in that boys head?!“ So people you know arent really honest?“ she asked after recovering from her laughter,“ i mean isnt honesty one of the top qualities?“ She didnt mean to sound full of herself, just...why wouldnt she be honest? There were enough fake people in the world and she definitely didnt want to belong to that species.

Steal his butterbeer? The Slytherin smirked. Hers had just run out and looking over at his, she saw that there was just one gulp left. Oh Louis Bolton, what a great idea. „Maybe“, she grinned and grabbed his glass drinking, it out all at once.

“Oh.” Lou raised his eyebrows slightly. “This is my second year, too,” he shared, listening as she went on to explain that she hadn’t socialized a lot since transferring from Durmstrang. Oh, wow. That must’ve been a big jump, no? “You don’t seem like you’d have a hard time making friends,” Lou observed thoughtfully, absentmindedly turning the glass of butterbeer in his hands. Perhaps this year would be better for her? He hoped so.

Her following question got the boy to shake his head slightly with a small smile. “No— I mean… that’s not what I meant. They’re honest. Just, not…” What was the word? “Blunt, I suppose?” Yeah, that was it.
As for honesty being a ‘top quality’, the boy nodded his head. “Definitely.” Fortunately, he hadn’t had the misfortune of meeting any compulsive liars either.

Aaaand then his butterbeer was gone.
Just like that, Vinnie had taken his glass into her hands and finished off its contents. Lou dropped his jaw at this, staring at the girl as she quickly emptied his glass, before he suddenly burst into amused laughter. What was that?! She was insane! It actually took him a whole minute to gather himself, wiping a tear that had threatened to spill from one of his blue eyes. “Congratulations, McFay, you’ve proved yourself a true Slytherin,” he said, shaking his head slightly at the girl.

Yeah, maybe from now on he’d keep his suggestions on sly activities to himself.

It was his second year too? He seemed so...how did you say? He seemed so at ease with Hogwarts and everything that came with it. „I would have never guessed that“,she said“, you seem very used to it. Where did you go to school before?“ Maybe all Vinnie had to do was talk to people really. So far this conversation had been really amusing. She needed to let go Durmstrang and everyone involved. Especially Niko.

„I've made one friend during the year...and some now during summer“
, she nodded,“ but its quite hard cause all the people at Hogwarts have their cliques already...so yeah i didnt really bother.“Not after being attacked by West's clique anyway. Rude.

Blunt? That was probably the best word to describe the brunette. She wasnt afraid of what people would think of her. Everyone was entiteled their own opinion. She didnt really care, either they lied it or not. well she didntcare for the most part.“ I guess i just dont see any sense in sugar coating whats on your mind“,the slytherin shook her head,“ sooner or later you'll have to stand up for it anyway. Better start right when you're thinking it.“

Vinnie put the empty glass in front of him and laughed.“ You shouldnt give me ideas“, she laughed as she saw how shocked he was. For like a minute or even longer he just sat there looking at her. The girl waved her hand in front of his face and licked her upper lip. She probably had a foam mustache. Now he was crying? Oh come on it was just a butterbeer....oh he was crying from laughter. Now wasnt this amusing.“Why thank you i feel honoured“, she winked,“ i'll get us a second round.“

Never would’ve guessed? Really? For some reason, this made Lou feel rather smug. He was glad he’d already grown out of his ‘new boy’ uniform. “It was easy to adjust, I suppose…” he said with a shrug, thinking back on the beginning of his fifth year. It really hadn’t been that bad. He’d met many friendly people just on the first day; perhaps he’d just gotten lucky. “I went to Ainsworth's… it’s a small All-Boys Academy,” he explained, thinking back on his old school like it was a distant memory. Hogwarts had kind of taken over his life after it.

The boy placed an elbow on the table and rested his chin on the palm of his hand as he listened to Vinnie explain her experience trying to make friends at the castle. He nodded his head understandingly at the last bit. It was something he’d noticed, too. “People are like wolves, they only travel in packs,” he said with slightly furrowed brows. “It’s not easy to break in, but I’m sure you wouldn’t have trouble,” he added, probably more confident of Vinnie’s abilities to socialize than the girl herself. How could he not be, though, when here they were, two strangers, enjoying a pleasant conversation? Obviously she wasn’t socially handicapped.

As the Slytherin continued, Lou leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms, listening with a hint of amusement in his eyes. Oh, blunt had totally been the right word for this girl.

“Well…” the boy started thoughtfully, “How do you feel about the use of filters? Y’know, to avoid confrontation.” Some people could be a little sensitive, after all.

And then Vinnie was suggesting to get them a second round of butterbeers, and Lou had to object, shaking his head. “Ohh no, no, no, McFay. I don’t trust you anymore, what if you slip something into my drink?” he asked playfully. Of course, he didn’t really think this; he just felt bad about having someone he’d just met buying him a butterbeer. Which was a little ironic as a moment later he added, “I’ll get ‘em, yeah? Do you want anything else?” Some kind of snack or something?

Vinnie listened to Louis talking about his experience, which was so completely different from hers. Maybe she had done something wrong? Maybe she had been to grumpy or something. Or maybe Slytherin wasnt the right house for her?....Rubbish she needed to stop overthinking. „You're easy to talk to, i bet everyone wanted to be your friend right away“, she chuckled. She meant it, Vinnie was really enjoying his company.

Wait... all boy schools still existed? Somehow that amused the brunette to the max. Like how did they live without girls? Vinnie certainly would be bored without boys at school. Boys usual made the better prank partners as well. „ How come you arent awkward talking to girls then?“ Maybe that was a stupid question but she was seriously wondering.

So she wasnt imagining the whole clique thing, at least something. It was easy to talk to someone when they were on their own but having their friends listen to every word you say? No thanks. „Where is your pack then?“, she laughed and watched him as he spoke. He probably had one though, he was so sociable and probably one of the popular boys. „I guess people think differently“, she shrugged,“ i tried and got threatened by some weird girl. "It had been amusing but at the same time she didnt need that again.

Avoid confrontation? Pfff...she never avoided confrontation. „i never offend people on purpose" the Slytherin said,“ but if you ask for my opinion its gonna be my honest and straight up opinion, no filter, no sugar coating.“ To her there was no point in voicing a false opinion. If she did that she could just not say anything at all. „People get me wrong a lot but at the end of the day its their problem not mine.“

Vinnie couldnt help but laugh. „Oh my Bolton, you really think i could do that?“, she mock gasped,“ i am angel cant you see my halo? Now i am seriously hurt.“ Obviously the 5th year was joking. She was far from hurt, she was very amused. So he didnt want her to get them drinks, but he wanted to get them drinks? How old school. „ You dont have to get the drinks because youre the boy and i am the girl“, the girl shook her head,“ just let me get them and you owe me okay? You want some snack?“ Food was always good. Food was friend.

“You’re easy to talk to, too,” Louis replied, and not just as a way to return the compliment, but because it was true. So far, he hadn’t felt any awkwardness or displeasure talking with her. The girl was actually a lot friendlier than she probably realized; well, to him anyway. He had no idea if perhaps she was different around other people.

As for her following question, he shrugged.
“I’ve had a year to adapt to that now, haven’t I?” he replied. And it was a little ironic, really, because most of the friends he ended up making at Hogwarts had been girls. Then again, he was pretty certain the school had more female students than male. “Anyway, I live with my mum, and pretty much everyone in her side of the family is female, so… I guess I always had practice on getting along with girls.” He shrugged again with a small smile. The lack of a male figure to look up to had never really troubled the boy, but he’d always kind of wished for it. Maybe he would’ve been a little more ‘fierce’ then? Who knew.

His wolf pack?
Louis laughed. “I’ve got a group of friends, but for the most part I just kind of talk to everyone, I suppose.” Which was probably why he was here talking to Vinnie now. He couldn't help it, he just liked meeting people.
… But wait, what was that? “Threatened?” he repeated, a bit wide-eyed. “Why…?”

As Louis listened to Vinnie explain her brutally-honest ways, he smiled slightly and wondered if that had anything to do with ‘some weird girl’ threatening her. “As long as you’re content with your own decisions,” he said casually. He understood the girl’s point of view, but could also see how it had probably caused trouble for her in the past. But in his opinion, that didn’t matter much as long as she was okay with herself. At the end of the day, it's your own person you have to live with.

PSHHHH. An angel. SURE. Louis rolled his eyes with amusement.
“What? It’s not that,” he said, shaking his head. “I just don’t like being in debt. Owing people favours is worse than owing them money,” he said with a soft chuckle. No, but really. It was. He’d always preferred to do things on his own for this reason. “Tell you what - what if we both go and get our own food and butterbeer?” he suggested as a truce.

„I try you know“, she smiled,“ it really depends on the person i am with.“ Sometimes you hit it off and sometimes you didnt. The latter was rather awkward but right now Vinnie felt really comfortable and good about this conversation. She was even happy that she met him.

The fact that he was living with his mum made her question sound even more stupid. Awesome. „So youve been shy before?“ Maybe it was just a stereotype that all boys school boys were awkward and weird? Because Louis totally didnt seem like it. Most of his family were female? Oh wow, he must have reaaallly good nerves. Women could be stressful. „ So you're like the rare Bolton male?“, she chuckled,“ do you have any siblings?“ If he did, probably sisters. Vinnie, being an only child, always wanted to have siblings but somehow she was scared of having siblings as well. What if you didnt get along?

Something about Louis laugh made Vinnie laugh too. It was so contagious. „ And i thought i was something special to you“, she laughed and touched her heart. It was really amused how his eyes widened when she told him what happened with Dora. It had shocked her at first too. „ Yes i made my first friend and i didnt even know her“, she explained,“ but she told me to stay away or i'd regret it.“ Something along these lines. To this day the brunette still didnt know why.

As long as she was content with her own decisions? That was actually never something she wondered about. Like she just did whatever she had to do and then didnt think about it anymore. What was said or done, was said or done anyway. Overthinking was bad for you. „I wouldnt act the way i act if it wasnt 100 % me and i cant be anyone but me“, she nodded. She saw how some people could be sensitive and easily hurt but sometimes you had to hurt someone to make them see the truth. „its a bit like being a surgeon“, she said,“you have to hurt some people first before you can try and fix them.“

Vinnie waved him off and smiled. „ But i want to get you a butterbeer, you dont owe me then“, she shook her head,“ i dont mind. But just for keeping me such lovely and entertaining company.“ Before Louis could say no the brunette went off to get some beers and food for them. Before heading inside she turned around and waved at Louis. Somehow she suddenly felt strangely happy.

For Kewe

It was a rather nice day outside, so after buying herself a butterbeer, Lux made her way outside to sit out in the courtyard. Finding a nice quiet spot in the corner, she took a seat before looking around at her surroundings. This was totally perfect.

Lazily, she took a sip of her drink while continuously watching what was going on around her. Maybe one of her friends would come by and join her.

Bryant wandered out of the Leaky into the courtyard, swinging a small bag of candy around and around. Specifically, he was swinging the bag of pumpkin pasties and other candies in as circle as fast as he could without losing his grip. He wasn't really paying all that much attention to where he was going since the area didn't seem to be too busy. The fifteen year old stopped the bag mid swing and popped a candy into his mouth from the bag. He slowed his walking so that he could close the bag of candy and get it spinning again.

However, this time his grip slipped and the bag shot off, out of his hands and headed directly at a person sitting over in the corner. Bryant's eye grew huge as he saw the bag flying off towards the girl. "Crap..." He muttered under his breath as he watched the bag of candy fly through the air.

Louis flashed the girl a small grin when she made her first comment and nodded his head understandingly. Her following question about having been shy before made him chuckle softly. “I’m not sure I ever stopped?” He liked talking to people, but that didn’t necessarily make him a social butterfly. The boy just knew to socialize when the situation asked for it. Or when he saw an interesting-looking person as had been the case here.

The rare Bolton male. Snort.
Lou tried not to laugh too much at the comment, not wanting to come off as rude as he seemed to be laughing way too often at anything the poor girl said. She might start thinking he was poking fun at her or something. “More like the rare Bertrand male, yes.” Bolton was, after all, his father’s last name, not his mother’s.

As for having any siblings…
The boy shook his head. “I’m the only one. Always wanted a sibling, though.” But that would never happen, so he’d kind of given up on that dream. “What about you? Any other McFays I should hide my butterbeer from?” he asked with a playful half-smile.

At Vinnie's following act of heartbreak, Louis laughed, faking pity for her devastated soul. “Aw, that’s not true. You’re still special - the first Slytherin I talk to. And the first Dursmtrang student,” he said with slightly raised eyebrows. See? Plenty special.
Vinnie’s story of the strange girl who had threatened her caused the boy’s eyebrows to lower and furrow instead, looking both puzzled and disbelieving. What had THAT been all about? Man, maybe Slytherins really were as cold-hearted as the rumours said. “Did you stay away?” he asked curiously, wondering vaguely how Vinnie would’ve handled a situation like that.

And then that whole metaphor with the surgeon and hurting people to fix them. Had Louis still been drinking his butterbeer, he probably would’ve spit it all across the table at that moment. WHAT WAS THAT?! “Merlin, McFay - hurting people to fix them? Don’t become a Healer, alright?” he said between laughs. Of course, he understood what the girl’s message had been. But… her example had seemed a bit extreme, it was actually hilarious.

What!
And next thing he knew, she had waved him off and left the table, determined to get them both butterbeer. Lou turned around to protest, but Vinnie was already nearing the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron, waving at him with a cheerful look on her face. He smiled at the sight of her, and wondered vaguely if the girl really would return after all.

THWACK!!!

Looking elsewhere, Lux had not seen the missile coming her way. But she sure FELT it as it whacked her right in the side of the head. "OUCH!" With the force she was hit, it really did hurt!

Holding her hand against where she had been whacked, Lux noticed that the weapon was a bag of pumpkin pasties that was lying near her foot. Okay, who was responsible for this??

He never stopped? He couldnt tell her he was shy....not in a million years. After all he just approached her like they were old friends...no stuttering, no blushing. He was such a pro, he probably didnt even realise. „ You dont come across shy“, Vinnie shook her head smiling at him, „ you come across more confident and fun. Which is a good thing.“ He probably didnt feel like that but sometimes you sent signals you didnt even realise you were sending. She did it all the time. That was probably one of the reasons why people thought she was such a bad girl. Snort.

The girl grinned at him widly, amsued that she seemed to amuse him...but wait...Bertrand? What? The brunette raised an eyebrow at her acquaintance new friend and chuckles.“So you got two identities? Are you something like a spy or undercover?“ That totally made sense to her, why else would he have two last names?!

„Nope i am the only one“, she chuckled,“ no need to have nightmares about multiple Vinnies stealing your butterbeer.“ That would be funny to watch though...was there a charm or a potion to multiply yourself? If so, she'd so go for . Just for the jokes. „ Do you like being an only child?“ Vinnie wasnt sure if she wanted siblings...but everything had advantages and disadvantages...like maybe her mum wouldnt be so clingy if she had a younger sister.

Now that sounded a lot better. First Slytherin...first Durmstrang. First Durmstrang that turned into a Slytherin. She was pretty cool. [i]Snort.
„Awww my heart feels much better now“, she nodded smiling,“ plenty special really. You seem plenty special too.“ Louis indeed seemed like someone she wanted to figure out. There surely was a lot to discover and she liked to understand people. People and the world in general.

„Of course i didnt stay away“, she shook her head amused at the boys expression.“Why would i listen to someone i dont know? I am still friends with West. He's a great person and i can nodody can tell me who's company i appreciate. After all its not my problem if she has a problem with friend jealousy.“ The brunette had been a little scared cause it was one of her first encounters with Hogwarts people but she was long over it. It didnt make sense anyway cause she hadnt done anything wrong.

Vinnie couldnt help but break out in laughter at his comment.A healer? She wouldnt be a good healer at all. She got frustrated with whiny people. „Nope i promise i will never become a healer“, the girl shook her head,“ i would be a terrible healer. Very unfriendly.“ Her own answer made her chuckle a little. Unfriendly. That was a way to nice word. „ I was trying to be deep and philosophical okay?“, she said trying to breathe, „ let me be Bolton, you deep talk ruiner.“ Sometimes Vinnie doubted her own sanity, but the best people were mad after all.

Vinnie had a hard time carrying all the stuff she bought for herself and her new friend acquaintance. Chips and cheese, red velvet cake and butter beer. Thankfully she was quite good at keeping her balance. As she was close to their table she put everything on a chair nearby and giggled quietly. „I am back“{/B], she smiled big, „sorry i didnt bring you butterbeer...“ This was gonna be amazing, hopefully he would like their little menu.

“…Yeah? I’d almost think you’re trying to make me blush, McFay,” said Louis with a flattered grin. No, but seriously, if she continued being so nice he really was going to end up making a fool of himself by turning pink in the face. “But thanks... I appreciate it.” Clearing his throat softly, the boy looked away from her for a brief moment, until she asked about his ‘two identities’.

“What?”
With an amused chuckle, Louis returned his blue eyes to her. “No, no…” He shook his head, still amused. Probably should’ve been clearer on that earlier statement. “Bertrand is my mother’s side of the family… Where all the women are. I’m not really very familiar with the Boltons,” he explained with a small smile, distractedly ruffling his own hair a bit.

Her next comment on multiple Vinnies running around stealing innocent boys’ butterbeers made him laugh, amused by the mere thought of it. Vinnie seemed like quite a handful on her own, he couldn’t imagine having to battle 20 of her off his next butterbeer.
“It’s alright, I suppose,” Lou replied to her following question with a shrug. “I mean, I like doing things on my own anyway, so it’s not so bad. But then again… do I like being by myself because I just do, or because I never had anyone to do things with? Y’know?” It was like the age-old question: what came first, the chicken or the egg? “What about you? Ever wanted a sibling?”

“Ah, trying to make me shy again!” the boy protested playfully as Vinnie complimented his specialness. He chuckled softly and more honestly added, “Glad you think so, though.” ‘Cause really, he wasn’t special at all. Or at least he didn’t think so. Shrug. He was just another boy out of billions out there.

Louis leaned back into his seat, a little more casual and relaxed as he listened to Vinnie’s story about a person named ‘West’ (the name sounded strangely familiar) and the mysterious rude girl’s ‘friend jealousy’. The boy couldn’t help smiling with amusement; despite her cunning, Vinnie was probably more Gryffindor than he could ever try to be. She definitely had the ‘fierceness’. “That’s admirable, McFay. You really stand up for what you believe, huh?” despite the inquisitive tone, he meant it more as a statement. It probably didn’t seem like a big deal to her, but Lou was a lot more laid-back and tried to avoid conflict as much as he could, so he found her determination rather impressive.

“‘Unfriendly,’ says the girl offering to buy a stranger butterbeer,” Louis teased with a grin. He still didn’t fully understand why Vinnie didn’t see herself as the social creature she was. Or could be, anyway. “Alright, alright… I’ll keep my moment-ruiner comments to myself. Promise.” He held his right hand up as he made his promise, expression innocent.

…… And then, a few moments later, the girl returned with a MOUNTAIN of food. WHAT!?
Louis’s blue eyes nearly widened to saucers when she saw her dump all the snacks on an empty chair. “Wha— I thought you were just getting butterbeer?!” That was so nice that it wasn't even nice anymore! If he knew she'd be buying the entire shop, he would've gone after her earlier.

Bryant stared wide eyed as he watched his bag of candy whack some girl in the head. He contemplated running and hoping that the girl hadn't seen him, but he mind got the best of him and he found himself walking and then semi running towards the girl.

When he got over to her, he gave her a look over to see if she was badly hurt before speaking. "I am so sorry... I really didn't mean to throw my candy at you..." He said, mumbling and blushing a bit. "My hand slipped from the bag and it just went flying. I promise I didn't mean to hit you? Are you ok?" Probably should've asked her that first but hey...

Phoenix // ALICE

FREEDOM.

The woman had granted Hughbert freeeeeedom.

It was a blessing from some higher power, Merlin probably (that guy had it together), that his homeschooling for the day had ended early. Which meant he could go to Diagon Alley and mess around. Practice his rhymes. Let the wind soak on his potato face and dazzle the world with his quick wit and charm.

That was...if anyone was around. He did the lone wolf thing really well during the school year because everyone else his age was off being PROPERLY educated at a school. But no, Hugh had to be ruled by the woman.

She was so stifling.

With freedom on his fingertips he flopped back on the grass and snuggled into the grass. Mmmmm. Comfy.

Phoenix was in London. Awww yeaaaah. His brother and that lot were all in the studio all week so he'd managed to convince boring-old-gitface Mr Watford into letting him off lessons for the day so he could look around. He'd spent a couple of hours in a music shop in muggle London, then looked for something else to do... and inevitably, he ended up here. Diagon Alley. Or - more specifically - a few steps away from Diagon Alley. Something had distracted him from actually making it onto the street.

Or rather... someone. Phe walked over to the guy laying in the grass and looked down at him. "Isn't it damp?" he asked, not bothering to introduce himself first.

Hugh sometimes thought that it must have been really hard for the woman to let him run free as she had today, but he had to spread his wings. Artists needed breathing room. And he was one of those. A word artist! Except sometimes his rhymes didn't rhyme and he got confused by what he was saying and it went on too long to be comfortable, but artist struggles.

AND being the artist he was Hugh was spinning an idea...for a theme...for a rap. Which required like a ton of concentration, yo. So when a fro blocked his sun he felt robbed of inspiration.

"Yo, dog. You're crampin' my-" Damp? Oh no no no no. He had been so in the zone he hadn't even noticed the state of the grass. He scrambled to his feet to access the damage done. YEP. His backside was soaked through.

"Aw maaaaaaan."

Yo, dog? Huh. Sweet. ... Phoenix was used to being compared to a canine. But usually as a puppy. 'Dog' was a step up. ... Though actually... wasn't that some old slang thing? ... As for cramping his style (right?), Phoenix didn't do that. If anything, he boosted style. Any style. He was like an automatic style boost. Hair gel for style. HairStyle-spray. Take your pick.

...

Phoenix watched as the guy got up and inspected his soaked derriere... "That's a yes then..." To his question. Yes. It was damp. "D'you need... a hand or something...?" Phe wasn't exactly sure how to help - he wasn't very good at most magic so he couldn't offer a charm... So... yeah...

He wanted to put his HAND on his bum? Woah, Hugh was not about that life, okay? Not that he was against anyone who WAS per say, it was just that he didn't swing like that. The only hands allowed to touch his round, little backside were his own. So no thank you Mr. Offer-To-Touch-The-Derriere-Man. He wasn't into being assaulted.

More like DON'T touch this. Ka-blam.

Throwing his hands up in a defense-ninja-move (not one lesson) he expressed, "You keep your hands off of my junk, man. It's, like, mine. Word?"

Was he being rude? Ugh. He couldn't tell. He tried to amend that. "Not that I'm not flattered. But you could do much better then my potato face anyway. You've got a nice head of hair." Very large and puffy. Like a pimple.

Word?

Just...

Phoenix shook his head. "Not... what I meant." he said, grinning and pointedly shoving his hands into his pockets.

Of course he was flattered. It wasn't every day Phoenix Harrison Toros came along and accidentally offered to touch your backside, was it? In fact. He should be honoured. After all, Phoenix was almost famous.

..

Okay, no. He wasn't. But he would BE famous. Soon.

Anyway, yes, the hair. "It's made of clouds and fairytales." he said, running his fingers through the curls and shaking them a bit. What? It could be... maybe. Shut up.

Hugh dramatically let out a breath of relief when he got hair guy who was all up in his grill to back off his backside. It had been dicy for a second, man, but he had smoothed it all out. No issues here it seemed. He was a downright problem solver. Or blissfully ignorant. That too.

"No it's not," Hugh reasoned, suddenly heaps more unimpressed then he had been moments ago by its gravity defying nature, "You sound like an idiot. Did you know that?" If not, Hugh had just hooked a brother up.

Couldn't have him walking around being UNAWARE of how talking about clouds and fairytales in relation to his hair made him look. Stupid. That's how.

....Though....

"You'd look good in a puffy shirt. Speaking of fairytales."

"I know." Phoenix admitted, nodding. "But it's better to deliberately sound like an idiot than for it to just come out accidentally." Like, if he made it obvious he was trying to be idiotic sometimes, then people would think nothing of it when he was genuinely an idiot. Which was quite often, actually... "Also, girls like it. Cutesy silly comments. Sometimes." Depended on the girl. But it was part of his charm... it made them go 'awww'...

Puffy shirt? Of course he would. He'd look good in practically anything. "I've got one." It was bright blue. With ruffles too. It was pretty spectacular, actually. He'd found it in a second hand shop somewhere...

"I don't think girls really like silly comments. I think they like ATTRACTIVE boys who have no substance and a ridiculously toned body. At least that's how it always seems." He knew. All of the films he had ever seen pointed to this data. And they never lied.

Ever.

OH. And they also almost ALWAYS had a rain kiss that happened. But, well, that was being overly optimistic, now wasn't it?

Heh. "Of course you do. Do you also like, I don't know, read poetry and play the guitar and contemplate the meaning of life in your spare time." Hugh was hilarious. Geddit?

He did.

"You'd be surprised." Phoenix knew. He was kind of an expert in that field... and other fields in that general area. Anyway. He was an attractive guy. Not so sure about the no substance and the toned body though. His sparrow-light frame didn't really allow for toning... and he was cleaaaaarly a man of substance. ... ... Whatever that meant. "People like this." Cue dramatic gesture at his own general existence.

I mean... come on... who wouldn't want to snog him?

That's right.

Wrong people.

"I don't really read poetry." Phe said, pulling a little bag of sherbet from his pocket and nomming some. "But I'm a musician." So obviously contemplating the meaning of life came with the territory, right? Right. "Do you?"

Did he get it and was just going with it? Or was he just an idiot who was genuinely missing the point?

We'll never know.
