The Snack Bar Thank you to Pixie for the graphics.
Located just a little further down of the Counter you can find the Snack Bar. It is also overseen by the shopkeeper, which is why the two are directly connected to each other so he can easily offer his assistance at both in just a few steps. To get to the Bowling Lanes you also have to pass here - how convenient, isn't it? Fancy some fries to go with your next round of bowling maybe?
Only stop here if you are thinking about buying something, though; Pizza, drinks, peanuts etc. Take your pick. This is NOT the place to ask questions or chat with the shopkeeper or, even worse, hang out and chat with your friends. If you want to do any of those things, don't do it here. This is for purchases only.
*The proprietor is not responsible for any injuries that may befall costumers who drink/eat potentially hazardous items on the menu. If you don't know that the flames on the flaming chili cheese fries are real, and should be put out before consumption, then you shouldn't be eating them. You also shouldn't be drinking exploding lemonade or ordering biting nachos for that matter. Or Acid sauce. How is it you are capable of ordering for yourself?

Turning away from the menu, she noticed a person standing near her. HEY. It was that boy. That one boy who had given her a piggyback ride that one time. "HAII PERSON. Remember me?" she asked, smiling up at the boy. She liked this boy. He gave very good piggyback rides. And he was Spiderman.
"What're you going to order? I can't decide. This menu is messed up." No normal food. At all. Hmph. How could they expect her to order under these conditions?

Sky Carter-Hope was amazed at all the shops that had opened in Diagon Alley since she had left England. Simply AMAZED. The one that had caught her attention the most though, and therefore the one she had entered, was the Shrunken Head Bowling Alley. Shrunken head bowling. She remembered this game from the Deathday Party during her first year at Hogwarts. She'd never managed to get up the guts to actually play then, and so far she couldn't now either. Sigh. Maybe something at the snack bar? Maybe with food on her stomach, she could get up the courage...?
So she joined the cue at the snack bar, looking at the menu and trying decide on what to order. Definitely not the Flaming Cheese Fries, though the thought of someone ordering that and not reading the fine print and forgetting to put them out brought a smirk to her face. Really, it would be completely hilarious if that happened. Anyway, where was she? Oh yeah, right. Trying to decide what to order for herself. Hmm... did she want chicken wings or the non-flaming fries? Well, she already knew she wanted rootbeer so that was one thing.
Oh, and she wished the person who ran this snack bar would HURRY UP!!!! A Carter waits for no one!

Smug was a pretty apt way to describe Chord, though it didn't go nearly far enough in his case.
"Applebee, yep that's me," he replied nonchalantly as he continued walking and munching. He stopped for a moment though as she seemed to recognize his name... and knew where he worked.
O_o Now he was the one staring at her. "Yeah, you know Charlie?" Oh they were cousins? Hah! What a coincidence! "I totally do work with her, funny! Had no idea you two were related!" He gave her a once-over, head to toe glance again, his eyes lingering a little longer this time, and then seemed to nod in approval.
"Send Charlie my regards, Kyleigh." Sorry, didn't know Kyle was just a nickname. "Nice to meetcha." He moved his hand back to his popcorn and continued on toward the bowling alley. Nearly there now, and good... cuz he was about out of popcorn!
She had to get inside fast – otherwise she was going to just fall over laughing from the look on Applebee’s face. He just looked so confused – and that was awesome for some reason. “Yeah there isn’t much of a resemblance” she laughed, “except the randomly breaking into French-thing” she chuckled as she made her way towards the counter. A little bit more of a sashay in how she walked.
“I will do so – and nice to meet you as well – even if I feel like I met you already…” she laughed, “Charlie was a little excited to have someone at work around her age – seeing as she’s my rather talkative roommate at the moment...she also told me about the plan to review this place? Or find a night-life in Diagon Alley, must say good luck finding a night life here.” she chuckled and smiled as she made her way to the counter.
Oooh the Shopkeeper looked nice. She might have winked. Maybe, okay she fail-winked but she winked none the less.

The shopkeeper was attractive – and so was Chord but that was another story yeah? Right now she was talking to the shopkeeper.

"Yes, that," Chord agreed, laughing too as they crossed the threshold of the pizza parlor. He noticed that they were both rather talkative actually, though he didn't have a chance to point that out in between Kyle's laughing and talking. He was okay with listening for now though. She was all right to listen to.
He perked up as they stepped up to the counter. "She remembered that plan?! We were all talk and no action, it seems... I'd still like to write the article though, even if she's not game for it." And there was a string of words he never thought he'd say. Him, write? As for employment? And not write a song??!
Man, maybe Chord was growing up. Weird. And to think, he'd even risen before 11 am today. He shook his head slowly and shot a glance to the shopkeeper. Eh, not a hot chick. He'd let Kyle handle this one, and turned his back on the counter to rest his elbows on it backwards-like.
Oh wait he had to order something. "Um, I'll have whatever you're having." Shrug. Food was food, so long as it was good. "They got nachos here?" he added after a lazy second of thinking of foods that went well with cheese.
And was she flirting with the shopkeeper or was that just him? Pft not that Chord cared. He kept his eyes straight ahead on the bowlers, not on the boring shopkeeper anyway.

Kyle chuckled when she heard Chord comment about how Charlie had remembered about the nightlife review. “Yeah, sometimes I think Char has the memory of an elephant” she chuckled, “I think she got a little busy with the whole gossip column and trying to make sure no one found out about some of the ministry issues…” she chuckled, and leaning in she whispered, “like wand-eating-zombies” of course her voice was filled with laughter as she said it.
Because well, it was funny and who would believe that there was a hoard of wand and wood eating zombies in the ministry about a year ago? Yeah, that was just comical. Looking at the menu she nodded, “Yeah they have nacho’s” she nodded her hair bouncing about as she did so. “They have Nimbus biting nachos…so – do you want to challenge things and get biting nachos and how are you with spicy things?” She asked, eyebrow rising.
Nope, that was not a pun. She was actually wondering if she challenged her own pallet and got a basket of flaming chili cheese fries if he would want some and if he’d need say to be rushed to Mungo’s after it. Actually, when she read the disclaimer at the end she just paused. “Okay I’m not getting that then – how does err…cheeseburger, and fries sound – and drinks of couse…maybe Simisons or Firewhiskey?” She asked smiling over to Chord.
What the girl knew a good drink when she saw one.

Especially when work was stressful. “Two firewhiskey’s and two cheeseburgers” she nodded, easy. “Oh and your flaming chilli cheese fries please” she smiled and ordered the food.

"I'm game for anywhere," he shrugged. He could eat it here, eat it there, inside, outside, in a car, at the snack bar. He was so hungry he wasn't even feeling TALKATIVE anymore. Hard to believe, but true. "Firewhiskey was a good choice," Chord added. "Love that stuff."

Not that he was particularly hungry, but he was still dealing with some shyness. Although technically England was his home, Where he had been born and raised, He had lived with his grandparents in Paris for many years and he felt like a bit of a transplant. It didn't help that he was really missing his old friends and everything. After stopping at the snack bar and ordering a butterbeer, he took a seat and kind of watched everyone bowl for a while. He wanted to play, but he knew it would be rude to go up to people he didn't know and ask to join in a game, and having had the rules of social etiquette drilled into his head since childhood, he knew it would quite probably be a social mistake to bowl alone, so there he sat, at the snack bar, sipping a butterbeer and waiting...for what? Who knew?

She pulled her neon pink purse out of her handbag and unzipped it to find the 4 sickles and 28 knuts needed to pay for the drink. She always seemed to acquire a massive amount of change though and so it wasn't a problem to find the correct amount. She passed it over and waited for her drink.
She honestly did not know what had possessed her to go into the bowling alley. For starters, she was alone. Who on earth in their right mind went into such a social place as a bowling alley alone? She was quite possibly crazy, but she'd been intrigued. Had this always been here? She had never been taken there before, she was certain she'd have remembering going to a bowling alley in Diagon Alley otherwise.
She glanced over the people already gathered around the snack bar and soon noticed someone else on their own. Thank goodness, she probably didn't look like quite as much of a loner now.
After making her way over to where the boy was sat, she gestured at the chair opposite him. "Do you mind if I sit here?" She sipped on her drink as she sat down before even getting a response from him. She shoved a hand across the table and smiled kindly, "I'm Isla. Pleased to meet you," she said sweetly as she placed down her drink onto the table and dumped her bag down onto the floor at her feet. "You're here alone right? I hope I haven't just sat in someone else's seat! I'd feel an awful fool!" She laughed as she picked up her glass again and sipped on the sickly sweet drink as she waited for a response from him.

Her parents were very much free-spirited.
They hadn't wanted her to be confined to a school environment as they hadn't thought she'd blossom to her full potential there, which in some senses was totally understandable. But she'd seriously craved the social interaction with other teenagers, she'd wanted to learn far more than they could ever teach her about the world of magic and so eventually they had given into what she wanted. She really appreciated it as she knew how much letting her go was going to be hard for them. She'd been such a constant in their lives that she was certain it'd be strange back home without her. Although they tended to move around a lot anyhow, they'd probably be far too preoccupied with all of that to think too much about missing their only daughter.
"It's lovely to meet you Rob, I'm Isla. Isla Harrington," she smiled at him again, as cheerily as ever. She was very cheery, there wasn't often a time that she'd be seen without a smile on her face. She liked to have a very positive outlook on life. However, she did have rather a feisty side and wasn't afraid of speaking her mind if it was needed. She'd found herself getting into rather a few scuffles back home in the village because of this side constantly resurfacing.
"So, do you go to Hogwarts? I'm starting in September. I'm so excited about it! I've been home-schooled. Well, as best as my parents could possibly have done," she laughed as she fiddled with the straw in her drink before taking another sip.

Rob found himself somehow drawn to this girl. He could not explain it , and truth be told he was not ready to even begin to try to label what he was feeling. He was more the go with the flow type and nowhere near as buttoned-up as Grandfather Rowan and Grandmother Isabella. He guessed that perhaps, maybe, he had gotten that part of who he was from Dallas. the truth was He loved his mum and his sister Emilie to death, but he had no respect for his father, mainly because when Rob was little, Dallas was never around.
However, that being said, he was finding himself more and more glad that he had followed Grandfather's wishes and moved in with his parents. If he had not, he would still be at Beauxbatons now, and he felt more and more that that would have been a huge mistake. Now, having listened to Isla; He was certain of it. The fact was that he was glad to be going to Hogwarts and that it meant that he'd not only be closer to mum and Emilie, but it also mean life experiences that he would have probably missed out on before. He took another sip of his butterbeer.
He smiled at her, he liked her cheery nature, but he could sense that there was more than that. The same was with him. For the most part he was kind and mellow, but deep inside broiled a fierce anger that came out at times, and a sullenness and rebellious streak also, both of which he tried to suppress because they were more of this father's characteristics coming out in him.
"It's nice to meet you too Isla." He flashed her another of his grins, then blushed a bit. "I forgot to give you my Surname. It's Triton. And yes, I will be attending Hogwarts, I recently moved here from paris and transferred from Beauxbatons."

Marigold bounced into the Bowling Alley thing. She had never actually been in here, so she didn't exactly know where to go. Except she spotted a food place. It was a done deal from there on. She made her way to the snack area, almost knocking over a small child and apologizing along the way. She glanced up and down the choices. Hmm. She ordered some sort of cookie thing, and turned around and tripped over someone's leg. "Sorry!" she said to the boy, who was sipping a butterbeer. "I'm really clumsy." That she was.
Rob found himself somehow drawn to this girl. He could not explain it , and truth be told he was not ready to even begin to try to label what he was feeling. He was more the go with the flow type and nowhere near as buttoned-up as Grandfather Rowan and Grandmother Isabella. He guessed that perhaps, maybe, he had gotten that part of who he was from Dallas. the truth was He loved his mum and his sister Emilie to death, but he had no respect for his father, mainly because when Rob was little, Dallas was never around.
However, that being said, he was finding himself more and more glad that he had followed Grandfather's wishes and moved in with his parents. If he had not, he would still be at Beauxbatons now, and he felt more and more that that would have been a huge mistake. Now, having listened to Isla; He was certain of it. The fact was that he was glad to be going to Hogwarts and that it meant that he'd not only be closer to mum and Emilie, but it also mean life experiences that he would have probably missed out on before. He took another sip of his butterbeer.
He smiled at her, he liked her cheery nature, but he could sense that there was more than that. The same was with him. For the most part he was kind and mellow, but deep inside broiled a fierce anger that came out at times, and a sullenness and rebellious streak also, both of which he tried to suppress because they were more of this father's characteristics coming out in him.
"It's nice to meet you too Isla." He flashed her another of his grins, then blushed a bit. "I forgot to give you my Surname. It's Triton. And yes, I will be attending Hogwarts, I recently moved here from paris and transferred from Beauxbatons."
"Oh! Beauxbatons? I absolutely adore France! Are your family French then? Are you fluent in the language? We lived there for just about a year in a small town named Eguisheim. It was the most beautiful place! There wasn't much there to do for me, but it was absolutely gorgeous. It was like something you'd find in a wonderful fairy-tale book! We tend to move around an awful lot. I think that when I start at Hogwarts, it'll probably be the longest stretch of time that I've ever spent in one place!"
She stopped speaking briefly, thank goodness he was still listening to her rambling. "It's absolutely crazy really, but I've enjoyed all of the travelling we've done. It's been incredible and I'm so thankful to my parents for the opportunities that they've given me. They're kinda... free-spirited. They always have been the 'go with the flow type'," she laughed. "I suppose Hogwarts will be a massive change what with all of the rules and stuff but I'm sure I'll adjust in time."
Isla smiled at him as she took yet another sip of her cherry drink. Blimey, it really was awfully sweet! Not that she honestly minded, she had a serious mad sweet tooth and was constantly craving chocolate and sweets. They were two things that really weren't so good for her figure but she wasn't too fussed about that.
She was perfectly comfortable as she was and she'd never had any complaints about the way that she looked. She was extremely confident, which was probably a good thing. She could be vain at times though, and she knew it. It was something she saw as somewhat of a flaw.

Rob had opened his mouth to say something to Isla when a girl tripped over his leg. He stood to help her up. "It's quite alright I should perhaps fold these things up and stick them in my pocket, they are so long." He replied with a chuckle. he bent down and lifted the girl to her feet. "My name is Rob and this is Isla. Will you join us?"

"Yes, My my family is french. But my sister and I were born here." "And so much more, but I can't say yet...." He thought to himself. He had promised Grandpa Rowan that he wouldn't talk about it, unless the person talking to him put two and two together. "Oui, je parle couramment le français. That is Yes, I speak fluent French." He grinned. "I lived with my Grandparents in Talmont-Sur-Gironde. a quaint little seaside village."
When he heard that she was the "Go with the flow type", he grinned and felt relief. He could be himself and just see what happened. "I love being in a place that I can call home. I believe that travel has it's place and is nice, but there is something special about coming back to a place you love and people you love." Rob expressed how he felt, he believed that honesty was one of the most important things in the world, that Love and family were the only two things that were more important.
"So ladies," he said, addressing them both with a smile. "Will you join me in a game? My treat!"

She turned to Isla. She had a pretty name. "Do you guys go to school together or something?" It seemed like they already knew each other. "I'm Marigold, by the way."

"Actually we just met too. I'm new here and I just thought a game might be a good way for us all to become friends. That is if you'd like."

So they just met? That was nice that Rob had automatically asked her to play a game with them. "I mean, we can try, but I don't even know how to hold the ball." And Isla was nice, too. "That's a cool story! I actually know a couple other people who were home schooled before coming to Hogwarts, so you won't be alone." She smiled at the two of them.

Rob smiled at the girls. "Awesome! C'mon let's go reserve a lane and get our heads and stuff! My treat!" He got up and walked toward the counter, throwing away his butterbeer bottle as he went.
