Lizzie walk in a little nervous, she wasn't really all that girly, her hair was short more out of slimplicity than fashion. The only things she ever really did was add the green feathers to her hair, switch between glasses and contacts, and maybe wear a skirt once in a while. But her father decided that maybe going to Hogwarts was time to change that. He had handed her a note telling the shopkeeper to give her anything she wants and charge it to his account, and he'll be a little miffed if she skipped over it. She walked up to the counter. "Excuse me. Do you think you can help me?"

Much to Arlo's annoyance, his brother had insisted that he went to some form of health and beauty store to make sure he had shampoo, conditioner and that sort of thing. He wasn't really that bothered about that sort of thing and preferred to just wash his hair with water but his brother had insisted and told him if he didn't get it himself, he might just send some make up to Hogwarts for him as well. That would've been the most embarrassing day of his life, to be opening a parcel full of makeup. Therefore, he had decided he would just have to get the things himself, regardless of how much he hated that sort of thing.

He picked up a bottle of shampoo and conditioner, both in the apple scent as he thought that one would probably be the least girly of them all. Next, he picked up a bar of soap. He then hesitated, wondering if the shop would sell any form of hair gel. Sometimes his hair just seemed far too flat and he wanted to do something with it. He then realised he didn't have a hair brush either and wondered if they might sell those as well. It would be better to get them there than having to go into another beauty store. That just wouldn't be fun. One was bad enough.

He headed over to the counter to pay for what he had in his hands and to ask about the gel and hair brush. He stood in line waiting for his turn at the counter.

Milton checked his watch. It was the end of term... which meant... any second now his shop would be flooded with Hogwart's students. As if on cue a young Hogwart's aged girl entered the shop. "Certainly." Milton answered looking the child up and down. Did she have the right store? She didn't look like his typical customer.

Milton glanced over at the items the young boy was carrying. "That'll be... 13 sickles and 15 knuts." he said adding together the prices of the shampoo, conditioner and soap.

"Would there be anything else I can help you out with?"

Lizzie him the note from her dad. "I need to get some make-up and stuff, but I don't know what to get."

Elizabeth walks in and isn't very happy about. She believes that she is naturaly beautiful and had no need for any of this stuff. Her sister told her a little beauty supplies never hurt anyone. Elizabeth still wasn't amused.

"Okay..." Milton said slowly. Really, what was with children always coming into the store? He always thought that if one was to wear makeup, then they should know what they're looking for. "I would suggest that all you needed was a little lip gloss. Perhaps in one of the rose colors?" he said looking over the girl again. "As for the 'and stuff'... I'm not sure I can help you with that unless you clarify."

Look! There was another one. "Hello. How may I help you?" Milton asked the small girl. Where was her mother? Milton would have never been allowed out on his own at such an age.

Elizabeth looks at the man a little confused "Ello' I really don't know what i'm looking for. To be honest I don't know what I'm even doing here. My sister made me come.” Elizabeth informs the man while she points towards her older sister Charlie.

"I'm sorry." Lizzie apoligised, running her hand through her hair. "My dad wants me to be more girly, but I have no idea how to go about it." She glanced back at the counters. "I'm not even sure what most of the stuff in here is for."

Arlo nodded a little as the man told him how much it would be. He had a fair amount of money so he knew that wouldn't be a problem. "Er.." he said, trying to think of how to answer the man's question. "This shop, it sells gel for hair? Or brushes for hair?" he asked in his best attempt at English when it came to things he didn't really care for at all. He looked hopefully at the man, wondering if his sentence had even made sense but hoping it had done. He didn't know what else to call either of the things he wanted. Well, he didn't really want them. He just had to get them.

Sinead approached the counter and set down her many bags. Her arms had been positively drooping under all that weight, with particular thanks to the bag holding her new cauldron and potions supplies. Setting her selection, a bottle of melon body lotion, down on the counter, she began to count out the price she had seen on the sign with a half-apologetic smile at the shopkeeper. She was impatient to get done with the shopping, so these infernal bags could be dropped off at home and then she could go to the carnival.

"Right..." Milton said with a nod. "Perhaps you ought to go for something simple then? Like apple scented shampoo and conditioner?" he suggested. If she didn't even know what she was looking for, she really had no business looking at some of his other products.

"Well, there's a time and place for learning how to be girly. Personally, I don't think someone as young as you should be bothered with such things." Milton said kindly. "I would suggest just a fruity smelling shampoo and conditioner. Possibly some lotion. You'll have plenty of time to experiment with makeup and other things later."

Like when she was an upperclassmen.

"Sleekeazy's Hair Potion will have the same effect, but is much easier to use. You can just run a hand through your hair to style it. It will keep your hair tangle-free and also give you a nice hold -- unlike hairgel. Personally, I find that makes hair way too stiff." Milton said with a smile.

"Melon-scented lotion." Milton said glancing at the bottle on the counter. "Good choice. That'll be 3 sickles and 7 knuts."

Not meaning to Elizabeth said in a sort of rude tone (force of habit),"Ya I guess what ever but I really don't like apple. Do you have anything else?" The smell of apple made her really sick and she knew she wasn't going to go for that one.

Arlo listened to the man speaking, trying to take in what he was saying. He nodded slightly, "Okay, I could use that instead then?" he asked, looking hopeful that he would be able to purchase that with the other items he had in his hands. At least his brother couldn't say he hadn't tried then.

Milton was taken-aback by the sudden rudeness. It took him a second to recover. "Yes. I also stock melon, pumpkin, and strawberry." he said politely.

"Sure." Milton said with a casual wave of his wand. A second later he caught a bottle in his hand. "You only need to use a sickle-sized blob once a day." he explained. "And that will be an extra 5 sickles and 3 knuts."

Elizabeth smiles and says in a nicer tone then before, "Strawberry? i like strawberry. how much is that one?"

Faven loved the smells that surrounded her as she walked up to the counter in the store. She wasn't a girly girl, not even close, but she really really loved smelling nice. The problem was picking what scents she wanted! Should she get a little in each scent, or go for one scent and smell the same all over? She set the melon shampoo, strawberry conditioner, peach scented bath soap, sleekeazy's hair potion, and pumpkin lotion onto the counter. There, she thought to herself, a little of each scent!

"Hello there, may I please purchase these items?" Faven asked sweetly.

Arlo felt a lot happier knowing his brother wouldn't be able to send him make-up and things like that now. He nodded at the man's comment, "Okay, and this bottle, it lasts all term?" he asked, wanting to be sure there was no chance of him ending up with make-up. He counted out the original 13 sickles and 15 knuts, then counted out a further 5 sickles and 3 knuts and handed it over to the man. He wasn't particularly good with Maths and found that counting it separately was easier. Undoubtedly, that would hold up half the store but thankfully there wasn't too many people there to see him trying to count. "Is that right?" he asked the man, just in case it was still wrong.

“I thought it was a good choice, too!” Sinead said as she counted out the exact change. “I really think my sister will like it.” She pushed the change, in piles of Sickles and Knuts, across the counter. “Oh, I don’t need a bag,” she added, gesturing to the many already on her arms.

Orchid smiled as she walked up to the counter. "Hello. I'd like to purchase these things." She said as she set her Strawberry Shampoo & Conditioner, Sleekeazy Hair Potion, Apple Body Lotion, Pimple and Acne Remover, Basic Beautifying Potion, Bronze Eyeshadow, Lavender Eyeshadow, Rose 1 Lip Color, Natural 1 Lip Color, Black Mascara, Black Eyeliner, and Dark Brown Eyeliner on the counter.

Sighing, Lauren entered the shop which supplied all of the things she was so not familair with.
She may be a girl, but she was certainly not a feminine one and this had never been a problem before. When it was just you and your father 80% of the time, personal hygeine (apart from basic cleanliness) never seemed to be important.
But now she was expected to be around people she barely knew, all day, every day and be subjected to their potential judgement. What if they shuddered at the state of her split ends? What if they fainted upon hearing that she mostly washed her hair with a bar of soap? Would they hold her down and force make up on her? Probably not, but Lauren didn't really know much about girls her own age. Sighing again, she resolved herself to learning more.

Casually meandering up to the counter, Lauren waited until the shopkeeper was free and then asked "Hi there. I'm going to need, uh, a lot of help. All of your help." She smiled sheepishly at the person behind the counter, hoping they had a soft spot for helpless cases.

"Lauren? Hey! What are you doing here? Well, shopping, obviously, but I didn't take you for the girly type." Orchid said as she turned around upon hearing a familiar voice.

"Orchid?" Lauren gasped, with excitement. "I'm uh, uh, wow. This is embarrassing," she confessed. "You're totally right, this isn't me. But I'm trying to give it a shot." Her face had grown increasingly red and she felt like the biggest idiot. She was also concerned that she was offending those around her who were into all of this stuff, she didn't mean it. It just wasn't her.

"Hey, you look, umm, put together," she stated lamely. "Help me?" Lauren asked, the plea obvious in her voice. "That way I don't have to drag this poor guy away from the counter," she gestured to the shopkeeper and offered him and awkward smile.

"Don't be embarrassed, people try new things every day." Orchid smiled at her friend encouragingly and then laughed lightly had her calling Orchid put together. "Trust me, I'm only like this because my mum is a Veela and trys to make herself one of those 'beautiful things in life' so it just kinda rubs off on me." She laughed again. "Of course I'll help you, how about we start with a more natural look, okay chica?" She said as she picked up her pile of products and lead Lauren over to the makeup counter.

"Shampoos and Conditioners are 6 sickles a bottle. Lotion is 3 sickles and 7 knuts." Milton replied.

"Welcome." Milton greeted. "This it for you?" he asked picking up each item in turn and putting them in a bag for her.

"That'll be..." he did some quick math "1 galleon and 5 sickles."

"It'll last until at least Christmas. Depending on how much you use, it could last the complete term." Milton replied. He plopped each of the boy's coins into his register. "Yeah. Thanks for coming in." he replied closing the register again.

"Alright. Thanks for coming in." Milton said with a friendly wave. He then put the payment into the register.

Milton let out a soft whistle as his counter filled up with his next customer's goods. At least this wasn't a small child. That made things easier. Using the abacus next to him, he totaled up the kid's order. "That'll be... 7 Galleons, 2 Sickles, and 16 Knuts." he told her. He'd bag it later... after he knew that she was able to pay for it. It seemed to be a problem among his younger customers. They always took more than they could afford.

"Sure, I'd be --" Milton began. But he was caught off. Apparently the two girls knew each other. "Just let me know if you have any problems or any questions." he called after them. Soon they had hurried out of sight in the direction of the makeup counter.

"Okay then I quess I'll buy some lotion and Shampoo and Conditioner." Elizabeth says.
