Default Head Goblin Offices

The Goblin Offices are set aside for those Goblins who hold significant positions in Gringotts. The Bank Manager may be found here and quite often important meetings or appointments regarding special accounts may be held here.

A door from the main hall leads down a bare looking marble corridor, small offices branching from it. Official business only.

OOC: While you are allowed to roleplay here, please be sure your character has official business and has entered the bank through the entrance way and main hall. It is best not to post here without your character being invited to do so.

Entering the office for the first time, Gremlok stopped just inside the door and looked around. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, the construction had gone perfectly, everything to his expectations. Stepping inside he looked over to the desks, spotting his right away. Heading over to it, he sat down groaning at the pile of paperwork cluttering the marble surface. Picking up his fine peacock feather quill he dipped it into the black ink and began writing a memo to his workers.

Once that was finished he sat back, his eyes roaming over the light fixtures embedded into the wall. It had been a nice touch, enchanting the candles to be long lasting. If there was one thing he hated more than unruly customers it was candles that lost their enchantments. but the wizard had sworn it would last and so he trusted them. Peeking out of the door he saw a few stragglers coming and going and nodded once more before leaning back and sighing.

Do you know what you got in to? So many colors leave me blind

Mr Yates gave Brazil a slight nod of thanks when she opened the office door for them. " You have a good day." He said to the Young woman as he entered the office of the bank manager, He glanced over his shoulder at his lingering Seventeen year old. Langley Yates cleared his throat to get his son's attention.

Devin who had been watching the rather attactive Brazil leave jumped slightly and avoided eye contact when he heard his dad. Devin stepped out of of the doorway and closed the door behind him.

" Good morning, " Langley greeted he himself was one for Ideal chatter in the matters of business but there was no point in him letting himself come across rude either. " We are here to make an international transfer from My family vault in the U.S to my son's new vault here at Gringott's." Langley said seeing no point to waste anymore of his or the bank manager's time.

Brazil nodded and smiled at Mr. Yates, "You too sir," and as she turned to make her leave she caught Devin looking at her in a hunger wolf sort of way. It made her blush and she ran into the door with a rather loud bank. She let out a rather unattractive squeak and made her exit.

Tumplin had witnessed the whole scene and it gave her a right tickle. The Head Goblin quickly cleared her face and got right down to business as MR. Yates and his son sat down. She took the paper that Brazil had left on her desk and checked it over. "Well we certainly appreciate your business here at the London branch," she replied as a way of opening. "May I see you key for your vault and your wand Mr. Yates?" she asked with a rather toothy Goblin smile.

Pretty sure the Head Goblin was meaning his Key and wand Devin pulled the sleek honey locust wand from his robes and fished the key from his pocket. He gave a slightly embarrassed smile in return as he handed them both over to the bank Manager.

She turned her brown eyes on the young man as he handed over his key and wand. "Oh pardon me. I meant your father's key and wand." She did appreciate that the young man was paying attention.

Langley already had his wand out ready to hand over and was pulling his own vault key from his pocket when Devin tried to offer his over. At least he was paying attention now was his first thoughts. Langley passed his wand and Key over to Tumplin as she gave Devin his belongings Back. " Here you are." He said.

She nodded, "Thank you." she got up from her desk and waddled over to a huge expansive bank of bookshelves. Goblin were old school, everything was written down in ledgers. and they shared everything with each other. So it took her a minute to find the United States book as it was high on a shelf and she had to climb the library ladder. Something she rather disliked, but it was part of the job.

Once she had the book she waddled back to her desk and sat down. Tumplin opened the book and searched for Langley Yates, she checked his key and wand against the entry. "Well everything seems to be in order. How much would you like to transfer?" she asked turning to a machine behind her that looked like a muggle Morse code machine.

Langley nodded when everything checked out properly against their records. " 1000 galleons should be a sizable start I think... Yes. 1000 galleons, I would also like to have the costs of the New vault deducted from there as well."

Devin looked at his father shocked was he really giving him 1000 galleons? His dad wasnt one for Joking but 1000 galleons was a lot. obviouslynot to his father but still. Wow...

Tumplin turned back around in her char. "Such a generous man," she commented. Giving a thousand galleons to a child was certainly something she would never do. She nodded at his second request. The machine before her whirled to life and after a few seconds she depressed a series of buttons. The machine beeped once and she waited for a reply. A series of notes flowed from the machine and Tumplin nodded making a note in the ledger. "Well everything is all set. Her is your key and your wand. The money will be placed into your son's vault this afternoon." she smiled at both them as she handed Langley his items back. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" It was always nice to ask that question.

She smiled and nodded, "Well, we look forward to serving you here at the London Branch." She stood up as well to usher them to the door. "And if there is anything else you need please don't hesitate to ask." All in all it was a good start to the door, she thought to herself.

Though theirs was the one of the oldest Gringotts branch the American one was growing larger by the day, which meant they got more contracts to mine gold, and Tumplin wasn't happy about that. So a new customer was always a reason to smile if you asked her.

She hustled into the office with her arms loaded down with plans and charts. The excavation of the bank was not going well, and they just lost a goblin. Trumplin was not pleased at all. She tossed all the papers on her desk and sat down. She was massaging her ears when the tone of the wall brought her out her reflection mode.

Someone was coming to see her and she was not in a good mood.

It was their job?! Holding back a mean laughter, he said "It is your job to serve, not rob." But why was he taking to this goblin anyway? He had requested to see the director, and he was going to see him. Might as well save his breath.

She again? Leave it up to female to 'enrich' the world! He bet she had a hefty pay check too, even if she was a goblin. Oh, hopefully she wasn't. He didn't really want to be closed up with a female goblin in a small room.

Following the goblin, he placed his exchanged money well into his pocket. These goblins were unpredictable, and they might demand more money at any moment just because he was going to talk to the director.
Bok's eyes flashed at the accusation of robbing. A goblin NEVER stole! IT was impossible for a goblin to steal. That's why they manned all the banks. She bite back the retort because she knew Trumplin was going to have him for lunch. Especially after Bok informed her of what he wanted to see her about.

She waddled up the marble staircase wiping her nose as she went. She spied Trumplin rubbing her ears through her open door and almost stopped and headed back down to her desk. Trumplin was not having a good day and this wasn't going to improve her mood any.

Bok knocked on her door.

She stepped inside the door, "Ms. Trumplin this wizard wanted to see you." she said formally. "He has a problem with our bank fees and feels we are robbing him." she told her boss. There now let's see how smug you are after this," she dipped her head and backed out of the room to head back to her desk.

This was not going to improve her mood. She nodded as Bok dipped her head and then backed out of the door. She waved her hand at a seat for the wizard to sit in. "Sit down," she ordered him. She looked over his transaction. "You exchanged 750 Reals and got 32 galleons after the 5 galleon bank fee." she summarized coolly. She folded her hands on her desk. "So how exactly are we robbing you?" she asked with a high raise of her eyebrow.

Keeping a few steps' distance with the goblin, since he didn't really want to be face-to-nose with her in case she took a sharp turn, the fifteen year old followed her, head high, without any worry... almost. He was a little concerned about being enclosed with a FEMALE goblin, but she wouldn't hurt him, right? She would at most yell a little, and that was predictable... he'd yell back, totally unashamedof being 'only' fifteen, since he was looking out for his right. They probably wouldn't give those five galleons back, because they were goblins, but he could always try.

Still standing a little away from the sick goblin, he peeked inside as she explained why they were here. He winced a little at the he feels we are robbing him part, but at least it was the plain truth. Letting her out, he offered a smile a the director and waited for her to talk, since his point was already delivered.

She was being direct. Good. That meant they could be done here faster. He sat down as ordered offered and tried not to fret over the unhappy look of the director. It wasn't his problem if they didn't want any further inconvenience or complaints about their comissions.

"I think five galleons for a simple work is too much," he said directly, looking ino her eyes. "Even the broker to the second degree in Muggle world doesn't charge of that much." Yes, he was comparing the two worlds, because they were living on the same earth and the wizards were supposed to be better than Muggles.

Good he followed a simple command, that was one thing. She rolled her eyes, "You wizards think you know so much." she snorted in contempt. "A simple work?" she asked with venom in her voice. "So I suppose you think the constant mining of gold. The constant smelting, shaping, cooling, stamping is simple. And then I suppose you think the thousands of pounds of foreign muggle money we have to deal with and send back to muggle banks is simple work? All you see us the goblins at the ledger. You never think about the time and energy we put in behind the scenes." She was in a foul mood and this wizard was not helping matter.

She slammed her hand on the desk. "Gold is a commodity. Not paper money. A muggle commodities broker would take anywhere from 15 to 20% per transaction for the work we do." She stopped and took a breath. She just hated his condescending tone. "And if you haven't noticed, the price of gold has risen with the credit change in the United States and the European Union. So if you think our fees are too high you are welcome to bank somewhere else." She told him as she leaned back in her chair.

Good luck finding another gringotts with lower fees.

Marcelo raised his eyebrows a little. Now, looking for for his rights was one thing, being closed up in a room with a venomous-talking female goblin was another. If asked, he would have preferred to keep the two very seperate--in fact, keep himself miles away from the latter, but life had its twists... that could drown a person. And he was now at the very verge of being drowned. Literally.

Trying not to look freaked out even if that was how he felt to his last bone, it took all his will not to run away from that door as she yelled. Maybe he really had never given it a thought to how the gold reached them, but he still thought it was too much. There were hundreds of wizards that used Gringotts every day and if they cut 5 galleons for each, they could feed Africa.

With the growing suspense, he jumped with fear and surprise as a fist was slammed on the desk. Wow. Talk about anger. And she wasn't doing a good job by treating a customer like that. And if he could find any other bank, he was of course going there after such a treatment! Even his father didn't have the right to speak to him like that... although he wished it was his father now and not a VERY annoyed goblin.

Having already figured out that but you have magic wasn't a logical answer, he said, with a steady voice that betrayed none of his own annoyance: "Do you have a campaign, maybe, to feed the whole continent of Africa with your outrageous commissions?" He might be scared, but he learnt not to show it well and he was going to stand for his rights. "Because hundreds of wizards come here every day and if you charge them with five galleons each, that is enough to build a way from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro by money." Not like spend that money to build a road but to use money itself!

"And exactly for that 5 galleons is too much. The gold is getting more precious, so, for example, three galleons should suffice for five very well." It was simple logic but these goblins loved the money so much that they were blinded by it.

And he still demanded his money back.

"And exactly for that 5 galleons is too much. The gold is getting more precious, so, for example, three galleons should suffice for five very well." It was simple logic but these goblins loved the money so much that they were blinded by it.

And he still demanded his money back.
She glared at him. "Oh but you run off and pay eleven galleons for that little stick in your pocket and you balk at 5 galleons for us to take your useless paper money." she spat out. She was tired of this child and he was working his way up to a nice probing in the security off. "So we are supposed to do all this work for free? WE are supposed to just let you wizards use us and then not pay us for our hard work. Do your parents work for free?" she asked him.

That was it. She slammed her hands down on her desk and jumped out of her chair, "You come into my bank and insult my employees and out institution and you think I am going to wipe your little nose and apologize for charging a fee for our services. While you are happy to pay any fee that a wizard charges you. Well let me help you with that. You are not longer a customer at Gringotts."she informed him walking around her desk to stand in front of him. "Your vault will be closed and I will be sending your parents an owl to inform them." She told him. Another goblin rushed in with his muggle money. She took it and handed it over to the boy. "We are done here." she dismissed him.

She really hoped he picked up the fact that she told him he was no longer a customer at Gringotts. Not just this branch, but all of them.

Marcelo blinked some more as the goblin went on. Well, there were lots of points she was wrong--he hadn't paid 11 galleons for that 'stick'. It was barely 8, since he had got it from his WARM and full of UNDERSTANDING people country. But he figured it wasn't the time for such a correction. She seemed to have lost it and he was at the verge of it too, if not for the fear of her own magical powers.

WHAT?! WHEN, exactly, did the word 'free' leave his mouth?! He had only said five was too much and that three would be enough in this crisis. Goblins. They thought they knew it all about something's value. Avaricious, know-it-all creatures!

"Of course they don't work for free!" he snapped back. If she found the right to drown him with her spit, he could, too. "All I said was to lower that commission to three galleons. Bu apparently, that five galleons is nearly enough for your hefty check!" He knew there was no returning back from this moment, might as well spill it all out. Or else, he would regret it.

"Like I'll ever let myself be robbed again!" he retorted, getting up to his feet. And he only laughed at that pathetic threat. His parents wouldn't give a care. He especially looked forward to his mother's reaction. She'd probably write them a heated reply back for wasting her time.

As his money came, he counted it quickly and removing the bag from his pocket he was given in exchange, he threw it off at her desk. THERE was her precious money! Like he couldn't find an exchange through Brazilian banks which charged only a galleon per exchange. Hpmf.

Face flushed red with fury, he walked out, able to knock down whoever got on his way.
