Default Fountain

What might be a work of art, or is possibly what nightmares are made of, is the fountain outside the Leaky Cauldron. Large, gaudy and rather obnoxious, it is most definitely a centerpoint of the area. Built of crumbling stone, the fountain is tall and contains three tiers. Starting at the bottom, the fountain has a three-foot high wall. In the center and serving as a support beam is a water serpent that rises from the pool and to the very top. Winged cherubs with wicked looks in their eyes hang off the serpent and dragons peer from around his climbing body. If it feels like the dragons and cherubs are watching you, it’s because they probably are. One cherub has been missing his head for centuries. Cherubs and dragons alike spit water in many directions, sometimes at different intervals, creating a beautiful display when sunlight catches the dancing water.

However, the fountain is not merely a great sight. Perhaps it is haunted, or maybe cursed, for the fountain has a tendency to spit water at people. Those who loiter too long may find their faces wet. Try to sit down on the edge without dropping a coin and you may find yourself doused with water. However – do not try to outsmart the fountain. Dropping muggle money won’t buy you any time. On the contrary, those who drop muggle coins will find themselves pelted with coins.

Oh, and just a warning. Don’t try to stick your hand into the water, especially in hopes of grabbing some money from the bottom. Creepy things with tentacles would love to bathe with you.

It was not lost on him that sometimes people felt uncomfortable with some stuff and didn't know what to say, and that was okay. It just felt good to tell someone what was up. "It's okay."

Anyway yes moving on. A genuine smile lit up Toby's face as Forrest proceeded to inform him of the latest goings on at Hogwarts, all of which involved victories of some sort. That was all pretty awesome, especially on top of the Hufflepuff Quidditch win, which he had been present to celebrate at least. "Sweet. I can't wait to go back again and kinda start fresh," he piped up, before slowly starting to bounce ever so slightly on his tiptoes. Tobias was getting better at staying still, but only for so long.

When Forrest held out the flowers, Tobias gave a little chuckle and held his hand out for them. "Well, sir. I am honoured," he said, putting on a pompous voice with a slightly affected accent. The teenager brought the flowers to his face in order to take in their scent (it seemed like the sort of thing to do in this situation) and got a noseful of...

...

"... tie?" Tobias looked a little bemused for a second before reaching in and extracting the very nice item of clothing, grinning widely again. "I've never seen a flower like this before."

This time, he left the explanation to his friend again and simply waited for him to finish talking while studying his face.

...

His grandfather died... Forrest's heart went into a short spasm as if it was his loss. He bit his lower lip and hugged Tobias again. It was a different mate hug this time: Forrest was trying to comfort him and say he was there to help him with anything. He was generally bad with emotional stuff so he didn't know how much of his message went across, but he was also afraid to speak it out loud. Words failed him at such cases anyway.

"I'm sorry," he mumbled. He didn't really know how Tobias felt like, because he had never lost someone before. But the pain was heavy on his chest. "And we're happy to see you!" He smiled too, and took the hint that Tobias wanted to change the topic.

"Well, you missed Hogwarts' kicking some French and Russian butt," he chirped, "and we won the House Cup." He paused to think whether he missed something else. "That's about it all." He grinned, then turned towards the flowers he'd left on the bench.

"I got these for ya," he said with a mischievous grin. How long would it take his BFF to notice the tie?

Cutty was trying to find a good place to meet up with his mother, apparently the bank was closed that day, though the notice hadn't said why. Which meant that Cutty's bag was looking a bit more heavier than normal. He wanted to have some place where he could sit and wait for her so he headed towards the fountain.

Wayo! Was that Charlton & Tempus? And were they ...hugging and giving each other gifts? Cutty's expression brightened against the heaviness of his bag. His mouth hung agape with delight and a very sincere guffaw floated out of it as he approached and slung his arms around his two Huffie mates. "Awww! So whenz the weddin'?"

Her name was Christmas? How very festive was that? Well, she was pretty sure that she had never seen her around school. Her face didn't seem all that familiar and she was sure that the name would have stuck with her.

"Tell me about it." Pause. "I don't know if I am all that sad about it actually, but it is a bit weird."

"Thankfully it was really only me and this one other girl there, and she was surprisingly nice about the whole thing." Jeremy was still incredibly thankful that rather than being annoyed that someone disturbed her smelling the flowers that Delilah had been completely okay with it.

Did he have any nicknames?? Uh…"Sometimes people call me Jer for short," Jeremy said with a shrug. Not very original nor was it very exciting, but it was shorter than saying his full name. "Do you have any?" Schuyler was a unique name within itself…well…at least it was unique to him. He couldn't recall meeting anyone with that name before. Of course the only shortened form that came into his mind was Schu, but that sounded too much like shoe, and Jeremy figured that someone wouldn't really want to walk around being referred to as an object that you wore on your feet. Even if they were really nice shoes…

Well it was nice to know Jeremy wasn't the only homeschooled wizard attending Hogwarts. "Yeah, I am originally from Florida," Jeremy said with a small smile. "It's just my mom and I, so it was easier for me to be around at home to help her take care of things than for me to go somewhere, so she had a wizard teach me for the first couple of years." Jeremy honestly hadn't minded being at home with his mom and receiving his teaching there. But he was curious to meet other people his age with similar gifts, and that was not exactly possible with a home schooling situation. "Did your friend enjoy the change from homeschooling to being with other witches and wizards?" Jeremy asked. Really his only magical exposure had been through his mother, and seeing as he had been raised as a muggle for most of his life, he wasn't really all that familiar with what it was like to have magic just be a normal, public thing.
Schuyler raised a single eyebrow and a smirk graced her lips as Jeremy mentioned the girl who happened to be involved in the whole fountain incident. "Is that so? If I didn't know any better, I'd say this whole misdirection thing is a pretty good ploy to get girls." She was teasing him, of course. Well, half teasing; boys probably would do that.

Jer. She didn't much care for 'Jer,' but she did have a nickname for him that had found its way into her head from the moment he said his name. "If you don't mind, I'd like to call you Jem." And if he asked why, she would gladly tell him. And if he didn't, she'd be equally happy keeping the reasoning to herself. He flipped the question around and directed it her way now, but she shook her head. "Not really. Just Schuyler," she smiled. "I'm open to suggestions, but there are few that I like. Especially 'Sky.'" Eugh. Sky. That was a big 'NO.'

She nodded along to his story of why he had been homeschooled - which was in order to help his mother. Schuyler really couldn't picture herself ever being happy as a homeschooled student, but of course that's because she enjoyed the social aspect of Salem and Hogwarts all too much. "Where in Florida?" Seeing as she had been there a fair amount of times. He asked whether Olly liked transitioning from homeschool to Hogwarts, and she gave a nod. "Yes, she did." And Schuyler knew this because she had asked the girl the same sort of question. She opened her mouth to go on, but just at that moment, a stream of water suddenly splashed straight against her cheek. The Gryffindor quickly took a step back and immediately looked to the fountain because clearly that cursed fountain must have been behind this. Funnily enough, when she glanced that way she saw that the stream of water was still squirting out from one of the cherub's mouths, only it was traveling a little to the left of where Schuyler had been before. Which meant...

Her eyes flickered to Jeremy.

Yep. The boy was currently being soaked with a nice, steady torrent of water.

"Same here." This was weird... having a pleasant conversation with a complete stranger. Maybe she was getting better. Her mind went back to the confrontation with Adi and the small child that she didn't even know and she couldn't help but think that this was a lost cause.

Yep. The boy was currently being soaked with a nice, steady torrent of water.
A ploy to get girls? Jeremy couldn't help but laugh out loud. He never really would have thought that clumsily falling into a fountain would be a good way to meet girls. Although, given the circumstances, fountains did seem to be a good spot for him to meet girls. "I thought wit and charm were supposed to get girls, not the inability to walk after 15 years of existence?" Jeremy inquired with a grin.

Jem? That was a new one. Although he had to admit it was a nice change from Jer, since usually people called him Jer when they were either angry with him and didn't want to take the time to say his whole name (coughhismothercough), or his friends from Florida who were mocking him for being inadequate at muggle sports. "I don't mind," Jeremy said with a little shrug of the shoulders. "It is different though…what made you go with that one?" Jeremy wasn't opposed to calling her Schuyler since it was unique, and it did have a nice ring to it. Although maybe after some time a nice nickname would come to him that he could call her. Assuming, that is, that the two of them would ever have occasion to chat again. "I'll do my best to never call you that then." Even though she seemed nice, it was Jeremy's experience that the nice girls were always the most terrifying when they were angry.

"Near Orlando," Jeremy said with a little nod of the head. "Did you like living in Massachusetts?" Jeremy asked. He had personally never been there, but given its proximity to some pretty neat, historical muggle stuff, several people he knew had vacationed there and loved it. He gave a little sigh of relief when she said her friend had transitioned well. Maybe that meant there was hope for him. Although, he doubted that her friend was as nearly awkward and socially inept as he was, so maybe he shouldn't put too much store into her success story. One can hope though…

Jeremy completely didn't see it coming. In fact, he was so unprepared for it that when the water came cascading down on him he jumped, nearly falling backwards and landing on his rear end. He was in the process of regaining his balance when he noticed Schuyler get hit with a stream that ironically enough was not nearly as big as his, and take a couple of steps backward.

At this point the only thing Jeremy could do was stare at the fountain with loathing. Was it too much to ask for that he remained dry for a while? At the rate he was going he wasn't going to have any dry clothes left. He shifted his focus back to his soaking wet shirt, attempting to get it to uncling from his body, but to no avail. Letting out a sigh, and trying to not think too much of the fact that he was standing in front of a very attractive girl, Jeremy pulled the shirt off his body. "Sorry…I just…I hate wet clothes clinging to me…are you…alright?" Jeremy asked, feeling rather sheepish just holding his shirt in his hands. But of course, his wand was back in the hotel room, and the idea of having another full conversation with a wet shirt on was just…daunting.

"It depends on the girl. The inability to walk could work equally well." Again, depending on the girl. It seemed that Jeremy here had a lot to learn about girls. Schuyler could help. She was very helpful, see.

She smiled at him when he agreed to the nickname. "Good. Jem." It even sounded better as the name rolled off her tongue a second time. Aha. So he did ask why. "Jem Finch." If that made any sense to him. Schuyler watched to see whether he might recognize the name. And now that he had agreed to try his best never to call her 'Sky,' they were pretty square. And by his 'best,' she was assuming this meant him never calling her that. Moving on..

Near Orlando. "Okay, sure," she nodded. She had been to Orlando once, but she was more familiar with Miami and Tampa. Massachusetts? ..Where had he gotten that idea? Oh. Oh, he thought Salem, Massachusetts. Schuyler laughed aloud and shook her head. "No, no. I went to Salem Academy. I'm from New York." Heh. Cute. Maybe she hadn't clarified that earlier.

At this point, Schuyler was wiping away the bit of water that was dripping down to her chin. She moved her hair away from her face and behind her shoulder. "I think the fountain hates you more than me," she added, amused. Wait, wait, wait. Was Jem..? Yes. Yes, he was. Hah! Jeremy here was stripping the fountain-watered shirt right off. Right here. Off a quite fit torso as she quickly realized, by the way. He hated wet clothes clinging to him? Uh huh. Her eyebrows elevated in the slightest, giving off the hint of looking unconvinced, and the side of her mouth pulled in a crooked smirk. "Clearly." Her eyes lowered to the shirt in his hands, then returned to his face, the little smirk still there. Was she all right? "Oh yes, I'm just fine." She gave a small laugh and shook her head slightly. "You're something else." A good something else, though. Yes, so far, she liked this clingy-clothes-hating Jem.

It depended on the girl? Jeremy raised his eyebrows slightly. Huh…Jeremy never thought falling into a fountain would be a good way to get girls, but then again girls were just foreign creatures to Jeremy most of the time. He usually could never figure out why they thought and acted the way they did.

As the nickname rolled off her tongue for a second time, Jeremy had to admit that he didn't really mind it. It had a nice sound to it…well at least when she was saying it it did. Jem Finch. Jeremy furrowed his brows, trying to think if he had ever heard that name before. "Um…I'm not sure I know who that is?" Jeremy said with an apologetic shrug of the shoulders.

He gave a little nod of the head at her recognition of Orlando. Most muggles knew it since it was so close to all the theme parks, but given the nice weather and overall allure of Florida he wasn't too surprised that witches and wizards would have been there or heard of it as well. A rather sheepish smile played across his face as she laughed and corrected him. How silly of him…although at least she knew he wasn't completely geographically incompetent, right? Jeremy chuckled slightly. "Oh…my bad. I guess I just assumed Salem…Massachusetts," Jeremy said with little hand movements to indicate his flow of process. "New York is awesome though," Jeremy said with a little smile. "Especially during the holiday season. The tree lighting ceremony that they have is great."

Jeremy let out a little scoff. "Yeah, seriously, you're telling me," Jeremy said, shooting another dirty look at the fountain. Jeremy had turned his focus back to her just to see her slightly elevated eyebrows and amused smile. Err…maybe it wasn't the best move ever to just rip your shirt off in front of a girl that he had just met a couple of minutes ago, but she didn't seem offended or disgusted so that was something right. He gave her a nervous little smirk, followed by a chuckle as she gave out a small laugh. His eyebrows went up slightly when she commented that he was something else. "A good something else, I hope?" Jeremy said, with a small smile. Maybe he could get the shirt to dry out a little bit…turning to the side so as to not get her anymore wet, he began twisting the shirt to ring the water out. If his mother could see the resulting wrinkles she would definitely be cringing.

Forrest took his friend's word and smiled. If Tobias said it was okay, he would be a good friend only by letting go and being cheerful as he always was around him.

"Me too." And it really was going to be a fresh start! He was going to study hard this term. He really was! If Tobias was up for it too, it would be even sweeter.

Forrest waited with growing anticipation, couldn't even utter a word, until Tobias brought the tie out.

"Yes," he breathed. His eyes were glinting. "It's constructed specifically for you! I figured, you'll be FOURTEEN soon and we never celebrated out THIRTEEN properly--it's the age of teenagers, y'know, and distinguished adults wear black, silk ties so... I think it's time we wore too."

Usually Alec didn't stop by the fountain whenever he made his way towards the busy street that was Diagon Alley. His main concern was the street and grabbing a couple of supplies and maybe, most importantly, bumping into a couple of his friends. Things got lonely back at home, especially when his dad would be away for so long because of work related reasons.

But... today, he was here. And he was standing right here, staring at the fountain. Why? Because... it looked weird. His grey-blue eyes wandered over the wall on the first tier... and then over at the giant serpent-like creature and then at the dragons and cherubs right at the top. He kept his eyes on the cherubs, especially at their eyes. Were they...? No. But just in case, he shuffled a couple of steps towards his left... and then a couple of steps towards his right. Maybe that was how they were meant to be built, to look like they were watching you. Because that's how the nearly eighteen year old felt. Like he was being watched.

"Weird..."

Specifically constructed? COOL!

Tobias beamed, looking between his friend and his tie, nodding as Forrest explained it to him but only half paying attention. He was just kinda sUPER HAPPY at the whole gift thing and because of many many reasons and basically it just reminded Toby how lucky he was to have awesome friends.

"I think so too!" he finally exclaimed in agreement, and decided to waste absolutely no time in putting on his brand new tie so he and his best friend could totally kinda-sorta match and be all dapper and everything.

The Hufflepuff vaguely grappled with the flowers for a moment, before deciding to just hold onto them between his knees to properly free up his hands. The grin never once left his face as he added the tie to his outfit. "I can totally get behind dressing like this more oft-"

He broke off here, because that was when someone else showed up. Tobias was slightly confused for a moment about Cutty's opening statement, but quickly managed to catch up and gave a mischevious smile in return, to show he could take the joke.

"We were thinking around Christmas; a nice Winter Wonderland theme," Toby chuckled, bouncing on his toes again because, as an extrovert, being surrounded by people always seemed to charge him up. "Hey Cutty!" he added, because it felt important to make proper greetings.

Default Different timeline. Poor Hannah
<--- Random | Funfetti | Lima Bean | Slytherpuff | PURPLE | Hoarder of pens | ALWAYS Severus

Ugh! She couldn't believe that she had fallen for some stupid dare. She knew better that get involved in such nonsense. Now, she was going to have to pay the price. She thought long and hard about not even doing it. What would he do? Hannah was ready to duel if necessary.

Still, she was a woman of her word so she was going to suck it up and put on her big girl panties. The blonde marched up to the fountain not bothering to look to see who was around her and who could possibly be watching her make a fool of herself in a few minutes.

Deep breaths... just continue to take deep breaths. Not wanting to waste anymore time the Slytherin jumped as ladylike as one could all things considered into the fountain. She immediately regretted not bailing out of the dare. Instantly she felt something touch her.

"OH NO!!!!! What was that?"

"EWW. EWW. EWWWWW!"

Hannah flailed her arms about while she screamed things in such a high pitched voice that merepeople would have a have a hard time understanding. Finally she was able to get a hold of herself and managed to get out of the cesspool. Oh god, the water didn't smell good and it lingered on her skin.

Dripping wet and with a murderous glare on her face Hannah stood there just staring... daring anybody to comment on what just happened.

"Kace." She smiled and fought her urge to twirl, "He's the sweetest guy, and he's funny. Doesn't push and he took me to try my first chocolate frog and got me to try to Every flavored jelly beans again... And then we both tried the gum that's there... He even offered to show me his favorite spots at Hogwarts." She smiled, clearly having a small crush on him. Then her mind went back to what she said at first, "Wait... you want to wear a dress?" She couldn't help the laugh that came out, "Mel has a crush!" She stuck her tongue out at her.

Default Jay...I have no idea where Oakey is...so.
Jedi Master•General Iroh•Java Junkie• King ♛ Stefan •Mycroft Holmes•Dragon Lord•Druid Boy

With the recent turn of events, Mordred Mordaunt came back from the North to pay a visit to Diagon Alley. It was packed as usual since it was summer, and that everyone seems to be doing their early-school-supplies-shopping. Lots of students, mostly (most probably) from Hogwarts with their friends, or siblings, or firsties with their folks filled the streets and shops. He pulled his hood to cover his tired face and scanned the place for somewhere to sit. He was relieved to see that nothing much changed, but his elation dropped a few notches the moment he saw the empty park bench.

“Sophie. I wonder if she’s okay…” Mordred thought as he bit his lip in disgust. He left without telling her. He just had to go that time… he was, after all, not a fan of goodbyes. It simply didn’t work with who he was.
Right now, he needed Oakey. Mordred hoped that he hasn’t forgotten him since he was the only one he could trust right now. He shifted the box under his arm and his eagle owl Xchylar flapped its wings in protest. “Hoooo.” Mordred sighed in irritation and headed for the bench. He took out a parchment and a muggle pencil (which Xchylar brought home after a night’s flight) and placed it on top of the box which was now on his lap.

“Hooo--”“Shut-up Sky. I’m thinking of what to say.” Should he explain? But explaining things would be painful. He could not afford to cry again given that he’s in a public place. Mordred slouched and rubbed his eyes in frustration. “Oakey will understand…I hope.”

And so, he gripped the pencil and started to write:

Quote:
“I’m back. There’s no need to find me…but I need to ask you a favour. Take care of Tank for me. Believe it or not, he’s a treasured pet—and I can’t think of any other person to give it to. Here’s hoping that he’ll give you real luck…or at least counter your unluckiness…”
Mordred paused as he debated whether to write his name or not. He stared at the parchment and his message and slowly smiled to himself. “He’ll figure it out.” He kept the pencil inside his pocket and swiftly took out his wand from his arm holster. He charmed the parchment to stick on top of the box and summoned Sky. “Deliver this to Oakey as fast as you can. I don’t have much time…and Tank needs to be fed...I just hope Oakey doesn’t faint when he sees him.” Mordred bit his lip as he tied the box onto Xchylar’s leg. “Fly safe, and return quickly.” As soon as he muttered those words, Xchylar gave a snobbish hoot one more time and flew off Mordred’s lap.

“Goodbye, Tank. Enjoy your new company.” He murmured under his breath and smiled at the box which was now flying up in the air. Inside it was Tank, a real Scarab beetle—a huge one measuring up to 8 inches. Before sending it to Oakey, he charmed the beetle to follow Oakey wherever he goes, even camouflage its shell like a chameleon to match the owner’s clothing—a little mischief on Mordred’s part, hoping that Oakey was up for it.
As he watched Xchylar slowly disappear, Mordred’s smile was slowly replaced by a placid expression as he remembers his mother who recently passed away…

SPOILER!!: Tank

Not very often had Oakey been able to pull himself out of Dylan's place without Ariana clinging to him. Really he loved that girl to death, but it was like she followed him wherever he went. Clinger-Ari. It was a good thing he left her with Dylan's new puppy he gave him. Merlin she hated dogs, but the more she spent time with them the better she seemed to get...he thought so at least. He was walking by the fountain and toward Quality Quidditch Supplies to just browse their wares. Maybe check out some of the magazines and read them there.

He had no time to react! OWL ATTACK! HE KNEW THEY WERE PLANNING A HIT ON HIM! He ducked for cover behind a bench to avoid this Owl's attempt to drop something on him. A box of it's own owl droppings no doubt! "Go away Damned Bird!" He shouted at the owl waving his arms at it frantically. The Owl then dropped the box into his waving arms and he caught it lowering it to his chest he watched the Owl fly back to a hooded figure. Not pleased one bit about this prank Oakey walked over to the mystery man. Who was it? Practically everyone knew of his hatred of Owls, so...was it Wimpy Theo? Slytherin never liked him, or maybe Lotus? He didn't have an explanation for her, he just...yeah it could be her. Alexa not to far off. "That wasn't funny. You can take your box back thank you."
he shoved he box forward and gave the mystery person a look of disgust while doing so.

Some things never change. There, Mordred saw a grown man hide behind a bench and shooed his owl away. "Definitely Oakey." he murmured under his breath and smirked. "This is amusing..." Mordred unfolded his arms as he watched Oakey walk towards him...not amused. Was it because of Valentine? He pulled his hood lower completely hiding his face now.

Before he could even turn to apparate, Tank was being shoved back at him. "Tsk." Mordred pushed the box back at Oakey and tapped the note on top of it. "Read."

But what else would you expect after not seeing your best friend properly for so long? It really wasn't fair that growing up meant they didn't have as much time to hang out. She'd simply add that to the list of reasons growing up could be a pain. "Hey stranger!" Waveeeee! "Extremely. Bet it's just the summer rush. People getting their school supplies early and such." Plus she'd heard there was an adoption fair going on which was WAY cool. Too bad her dad had banned anymore pets in their house.

The blonde scooted to make room for Soph and smiled a little, eyeing her bag curiously. It had made a pretty loud noise when she dropped it which could only mean books. Lots of them. "Preparing for a little light reading?" Brows! "I've been okay. Magical Menagerie is really cool and I like being around the creatures."It didn't hurt that the boss was attractive either but she kept that to herself. "What about you?" Details about the internship, please.
*le flying Xkhyalflsjd Sky owl whose name I can't spell*

Sophie sighed as she relaxed on the edge of the fountain and made sure her bag wasn't going to fall over or anything. "I suppose. And I think I've heard something about some pet adoption... thing that's happening these days." Or something. A fair or whatever. Sophie had plenty of pets in her opinion, so she wasn't that interested in going there, to be honest. Her mother, on the other hand... "By the way, how are all of the puppies going?" All of the... what, 10 of them? LOADS of them! Sheesh! "Mum's wondering when she can go over to get... one of them." Which was was it again?? She couldn't remember. Woops, hehe!

"Haha, yeah, I have to admit I got a few extra books this time." Rather than only the ones required for seventh years. "I found this one book all on wandless magic!" Sophie exclaimed happily after nudging the Flourish and Blotts bag with her foot. "Remember that one seminar a few years ago when we learned a little bit about it? With that... kind of dance? Some people don't even need to do a sequence of movements or anything! Some people can do magic just by pointing their own fingers at the target!" The Hufflepuff went on with her eyes sparkling and actually pointing her finger up to... was that an owl? She stopped for a fraction of a second and eyed the owl curiously. "I think I know that owl..." She pretty much thought out loud, but soon shook her head and turned to her bestie again. "I've heard some people just need to think of the spell and it'll work! No need to point or anything! But I'm not sure if that's true." She shrugged. "Good thing I got this book then! Hehe!"

...Was the owl attacking Oakey? Sophie chuckled and shook her head. Maybe that's why she recognized the owl. It might be Oakey's mental one. Though it looked a bit different. Or maybe Sophie just forgot what it looked like. Anyway, no matter. Best friend time! Oh, and they were talking animals! "Maybe you should help Oakey with that owl!" Sophie commented as she laughed and watched him handling the creature. "Though I'm pretty sure he's used to it by now." When the boy walked somewhere to talk to whoever in the middle of the crowd, Sophie turned her full attention back to Ella. "Yeah, helping in Weasley's Wizard Wheezes is brilliant!" The brunette said enthusiastically. "Mr Roderick lets us do whatever we want! Including pulling prank on customers!" Sophie didn't really do that, though, even if she thought the idea was quite amusing. "That shop is completely crazy!" She added with a bright smile on her face. "A good crazy!"

Schuyler hadn't expected him to know who Jem Finch was. She wouldn't have known either had it not been for her father. But she just smiled at him and mirrored his shoulder shrug.

Salem, Massachusetts was the wrong Salem, but it was still a Salem nonetheless and she could see his train of thought. No one ever expected Salem, Oregon, though. Poor Oregon. Always neglected. He also earned a smile for his admitting that New York was awesome. "It really is." And not just the city, but upstate New York as well. And Lake George and the Catskills and Lake Placid. Okay, so maybe she was a little biased. Anyway, what was this, Analyze The Fifty States Day? Back to the tree lighting. "Definitely. Have you ever been there for New Year's?"

The fountain, though. The ever mysterious, cursed fountain with the creepy cherubs. Cherubs in general were a bit of a weird thing, but these were downright creepy. Anyway. Jeremy was asking for confirmation of being a good something else, and Schuyler had no objection to giving it to him. "Yes," she grinned. "A good something else." She watched as he began wringing out his shirt and the action tensed his muscles and stuff and it was quite nice to look at. A moment later, however, she was opening up her purse, and from it she pulled a pen. Not only was it a fine-point pen, but on the other side of it was a marker. Very handy thing. Hence why she kept it in her bag. And being the handy thing that it was, she found that she could use it in this instance.

"I have one addition for you though, Jem," she said as she uncapped the marker end of it. She pushed her hair back behind her ear and took a step towards him in order to move his hands away from his chest, thus ending the shirt wringing. Now she put the tip of the marker against the far left side of his abdomen and in one continuous stroke, she dragged the marker down on a curved slant just below his belly button, then brought it back up to finish the line on the other side of his abdomen. An upside-down arch, if you will. Or, as she liked to call it, "A smile." See? She gave a laugh. "Didn't need to give him the eyes because he's already got those." Nipples. /eyeballs.

Schuyler capped the marker and gave a nod of approval. "A very handsome chest, if I do say so myself."

I have an addiction to cheddar cheese. But it's only mild. "Alas, ear wax"

Before he could even turn to apparate, Tank was being shoved back at him. "Tsk." Mordred pushed the box back at Oakey and tapped the note on top of it. "Read."
Well this guy wasn't going to reveal himself so easily was he? Fine he'll play along, let the mystery person be All Mysterious Before he could hand over the box her felt something move slightly inside of it, then was told to read the note. He looked down at the box and mumbled out the note "I’m back…favour...Take care of Tank...treasured pet...can’t think of any other person to give it to...he’ll give you real luck…unluckiness" How did this person know he was terribly unlucky, and for that matter why did he care so much to make it better. "The hell is Tank?" Oakey asked as he opened the box to reveal a HUGE insect inside...

He almost dropped the box from utter suprise but he gripped the sides harder. "Tank is a beetle." Okay this was getting REALLY weird. He looked at the hooded mystery person curiously, then at the owl, then back to the beetle, then to the owl, then at the mystery person, then to the beetle...and back the mystery person. Give him a moment, the gears are turning...then back again at the owl, and finally at the mystery person. "Mordy Mordaunt! Stop acting like a creepy vampire and take that hood off!" He tucked the box underneath one of his arms and used the other to slap the back of his long lost friend.

Forrest clapped in excitement when Tobias put the tie on. He just hoped his friend wouldn't seek his advice to tie it properly, because he had no idea how to. His tie was his mother's handiwork.

And he had to admit, it looked even better on Tobi--

SOMEONE WAS PRESSING--

"Cutty?" Forrest blinked as he followed the exchange between them. Whose wedding was it? Were Alec and Ella--

"Oh!" he exclaimed and laughed. "And you'll be our honour guest." He grinned. Hehe. They were funny. He was lucky for having such wonderful friends!

But... today, he was here.

"Weird..."
Delilah was on her way to the main Diagon Alley area, a happy smile on her face. She was done with her shopping for her school stuff but she still wanted to check out a couple more shops so here she was.. when a fountain caught her eye. The world's most ugliest fountain, probably.

Heh. No.

She almost turned to walk away when she noticed someone vaguely familiar standing at the fountain. Wait.. was it.. Alec? The boy who seemed to be oh-so-intently staring at the ridiculous looking fountain? The girl beamed and moved a little closer to greet him when he suddenly moved to the left.. and then to the right. What on earth was he doing?

... "Alec?" Delilah called out hesitantly.
