She barely considered it before responding, "I'd admire your enthusiasm."

It was comforting to know that she wasn't in danger of wiping out on the dance floor, four-inch heels notwithstanding. It was also comforting that, in spite of those heels, Rhys was still taller than her. On more than one occasion, she'd been constrained to flats for the sake of her date's pride.

Morrigan looked around at the other couples, to see what they were doing, before asking, "What would you do if I started making steps up?"

Ethan knew that Lights could handle her job. Actually, it seemed to fit her much better than just Security. Ethan's only remaining problem with her taking the job meant that she may have to kill people. Technically, 'hit witch' implied killing for pay, and that made Ethan uncomfortable. He could never imagine killing somebody you don't know, for reasons nobody will tell you, for money. Especially after what happened with Trystan Bones, Ethan definitely didn't want to have to kill anybody again...

Thankfully, Lights could break Ethan's dismal focus by changing the music. "I believe so! You lead, milady," he said with a smile and a bow.

"These people are all in their own world here," Rhys offered. "We could do a whole song and dance number with our heads on fire, and they would continue to murmur sweet nothings to each other and not realize that people existed outside of their bubbles. It's... very tedious."

Although he said it lightly, so perhaps he was just protesting to have something to say.

"Oh? Well, we could do that too, you know." Morrigan leaned her head close to his ear and murmured, "Sweet nothings."

Then she pulled away and grinned, wrinkling her nose, "Was that tedious? Maybe I should stick to dancing with my head on fire."

"You're interesting enough without the sweet nothings." Rhys moved her away from the food tables and toward the middle of the dancers. More to see, such as the couples fighting each other to lead the dance and the couples that were so wrapped up in each other that they had been slowly circling the same patch of floor since arriving. Dead amusing.

"Let's leave the head on fire for a last resort."

"Good idea; I don't have the incantation for a cooling charm handy, at the moment." Plus, she had the feeling that if anyone drew a wand at this function, stupify spells would fly.

Morrigan wasn't the most subtle at people-watching, though she did make an effort for Rhys's sake. It was almost impossible to keep the excited intrigue off her face, however, when there was kissing and declarations of love going on!

Hopefully her date would give her a minute to gawk like a moron before prancing into the tango promised earlier in the evening.

"You're staring," Rhys told her quietly, spinning Morrigan just a step closer so she could join the conversation if she chose. That wasn't necessarily the suavest of moves, but it was an amusing one.

"You're remarkably light on your feet considering the amount of dessert you just put away. I'm impressed."

Ooooh, they were moving. There was a bit of clinging that happened before she corrected herself, at which point she protested, "Only a little."

After she said it, she realized it could be applied to both her staring and the amount of food in her stomach. Now that Rhys had her undivided attention, in case he did that again, she accepted the compliment with a polite, "Thank you. You don't seem to have a problem with dancing, either."

"No, I told you, Morr. I've got the MOVES." He did dip her, then, although he made sure to keep a very firm grip on his date in case she was as clumsy as she claimed.

"You know what would make this party even better?"

"Wooop!" Bending backwards wasn't easy in the best of circumstances, and the heels weren't helping, so she was very much glad that his grip was so firm. Still, there was no alarm or uncertainty as she grinned up at him, "What's that?"

Lights smiled and lead Ethan in a sort of waltz, sort of something else, basically moving to the music. She twirled, giggling, all traces of mature Lights gone. Lights the innocent was back to doing what she loved; being herself. Love it or live with it, but don't expect her to change. That was actually a pretty good motto.

After a few minutes, Lights felt herself getting hungry. Her nose caught the tantalising scent of the buffet. Now her stomach was in serious danger of grumbling, and that would be very undignified. "Want to break for food?" she asked.

What a dance! It was pure Lennox: spontaneous, energetic, and care-free. Another of the constant reminders of why he had married Lights. He let her lead the entire dance, occasionally dipping and spinning her, but otherwise moving after her steps.

Their song was done, the ballroom music back, and Ethan was definitely out of breath. "Food sounds good!" he said, holding out his arm to escort Lights from the dance floor.

Rhys pulled Morrigan back up and into his arms, and he was soon whirling them both back into the thick of a different group of people. Dancing was lovely in its way, actually. He always knew what he should be doing, and there was something so satisfying putting all the steps together correctly and working as a unit with someone.

His chin nestled against her ear as he spoke. "Better music."

Alexander laughed at her first comment. "Will it at least get me a kiss?" he asked, leading her around the dance floor. He'd only had eyes for her so far, but when another couple danced directly within an inch of them, he looked up and suddenly became aware of how crowded the dance floor had become. "You're the most beautiful woman out here," he told her. "...and that's not flattery. That's called being in love."

"Look at us, Hecate. All grown up and at the Ministry Ball--that all-star beater and her amazing Quidditch captain," he said with a wink. "Did you even see this in our future? Hecate, I'm the Minister of Magic." Of course he whispered all this into her ear. It was a 'heart on his sleeve' moment for him, and he didn't allow many people to witness that.

As they danced around the floor, though, the way his life had changed in the past few days was suddenly becoming a reality to him.

Elizabeth came onto the dance floor with Adam. She twirled and danced with him, trying to keep a smile on her face.

While Nicole danced with Robert she turned to Elizabeth with a humors smile and said, "Maybe we can switch parteners later?" Nicole laughed in her head, but thought that it might not be a bad idea, Elizabeth didn't seem to want to be around Adam so much, so why not keep him away a little. She smiled looking up at Robert.

Elizabeth laughed inside her head, "Oh i don't want your toes broken." She laughed out loud this time, "Last time Adam and I danced he broke 3 of my toes." At that Adam twirled her, ending the conversation for the time being.

Nicole smiled and yelled back as Adam twirled her, "I'd be fine!" She wasn't the pregnant one after all. Looking at Robert again, she moved closer to him, and put head on his shoulder still dancing.

Elizabeth shot an are-you-crazy-or-do-you-really-want-to-dance-with-this-arghful-guy look. She would be fine..... hopefully probably with some broken toes, unless he learnt how to dance after the last time they danced together.
"Relax Iza. I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to talk. It has been a few years since we saw each othe." Adam whispered into her ear, "Why have you been avoiding me?"
Elizabeth whispered harshly back, "Not here, at my work. Can you just behave for one night?" She sent a small glare at him but twirled out and into his arms again. Back in a normal voice, with a smile, "I'm impressed Adam. You have learnt how to dance since the last time."

Nicole shrugged her sholders a little and frownd a bit. No she didn't really want to dance with Adam, she just felt Elizabeth wanted to get a way for a little, maybe she was wrong. She wanted to get her mind off it all, so she turned up to look at Robert and ask in a little quiet voice for nobody to hear, "So did you call the church too see if they are avalable for the 16?"
Thinking back at his day Robert nodded and said once he remembered when he called, "Yes and the hotel around the corner for the reseption for 500? he closed his eyes a little to make sure he didn't mess up.
"520," Nicole said, they could just call and add 20 more seats in, no problem, it was a pretty big room! Nicole hopped nobody made comments on them having a muggle wedding! It was easy to have one sence Robert's family (besides his parents and sister) that she was a witch. If the people from the wizarding world they invited didn't like the idea, than they didn't have to go, its fine, just will should would cares and not. Nicole then thought of how her grandmother will explode when she hears! Sighing Nicole smiled up at Robert trying to hide how she felt about that.

Elizabeth mouth, "Sorry, I just didn't want you to have to put up with him." A twirl cut off the last word though.
Adam dipped Elizabeth low and looked like he was about to kiss her when he pulled her up and twirled her quickly.
Elizabeth clench her teeth. The sudden quickness wasn't that good when your stomach was already queasy but soon the feeling went away and she loosen her jaw. She swayed with Adam for a few minutes.

Nicole nodded, she understood even if Elizabeth's last words was cut off. Nicole dind't understand how Elizabeth could take moving that fast! It was too much for her.

After a few more minutes, Elizabeth stopped dancing, to Nicole, Adam and Robert, "I'm going to sit down for a few." That was too fast... She shot them all a sorry look, Nicole and Robert's were more genuine than Adam's those. She turned to leave to the seating area.
Adam nodded his excuse mes and followed Elizabeth.

Dorian gave Laurie another smile, followed by a bit of a rueful look as she'd made her comment about MLEers. he wasn't exactly sorry for the observation, although he quickly riposted. "You would have to count yourself among that generalization," he pointed out, shrugging slightly. "It's true, though. But lately I've honestly just been focused on trying to locate D'Isigny," he admitted. Locating that man would not only fulfill the order he and his group had been given back when the takeover was mobilizing, but it would also ensure that the cult was less liekly of rebuilding. Recard wasn't going to do anything after all, and most of the other influential cultists were already in Azkaban.

That wasn't really an appropriate conversation for their current location, however, and he reacted to her returning the conversation to his own dating life with another raised eyebrow. "True, if things were traditional," he pointed out. "Not everyone just goes around looking for people to ask out on dates." He let the comment about the office stand, however. That was also true enough, especially as he'd thought the same not that long before. He gave her an almost blank look as she'd proposed dancing, though, as that was an abrupt change of topic yet again and it had startled him. He didn't see a reason to refuse, but that didn't mean he really wanted to dance. It would hopefully get the conversation off his love life, and that was the only reason he took her arm and headed for the dance floor. "I'm not too concerned about my toes."

Morrigan felt pleasant tingles go up and down her back, and she chuckled at herself for the stupid grin she knew was on her face, "Oh, I dunno, I'm quite fond of..."

She actually stopped to listen to what was playing, and then shook her head, "No, I have no idea who this is. But unless you plan on hijacking the stage, we're stuck with it."

Which was pretty A-okay with her, considering she was just following along to whatever moves Rhys made up.
