Once you’ve knocked and been invited into the office, feel free to head on in and take up your conversation with the Department Head, Iridesca MacMillan. While you are waiting, you’ll hear music surrounding you. This helps keep you in a good mood and helps keep everything inside the office private.

As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice Iridesca’s bright blue hair and eyes to match. She has great fashion sense and is usually in heels unless fixing to go on location or on a mission with the A&C Department. Her office is very tasteful and simple with coffee colored walls and dark brown, almost black, furniture. Along one wall is a collage of framed pictures. These pictures are full of life and color. They are of Iridesca and her cousin, Satine, from all over the world. Each one moves separately as you glance at them.

Towards the back of her office, is a bookshelf full of books both Muggle and Wizard. Some of them deal with the different divisions within her department but a huge majority of them deal with her passion, Event Planning.

Her desk is pretty tidy with random piles of paper here and there. Music is always playing in the room. It can be anything from Muggle to Wizard music. You’ll notice that almost everything she uses has a tint of blue to it....yes it’s her fave color and she tries to use it constantly.

Sitting behind the desk, is the woman you are here to see! So please knock before entering and once she ushers you in take a seat but you must have a positive attitude to survive in her world! Welcome!

Medea exited the lifts and looked left and right. It seemed to be the same basic layout on every level. Files in hand she made her way to the Department Head’s office, Ms. McMillian.

Knock.knock.knock.

As the dark haired woman waited for an answer from beyond the door she adjusted her robes.

Iridesca glanced up from her desk as she heard a knock at her door. She had to admit that she was very excited because this was the first visitor she'd had since the Ministry had been resituated and she'd been appointed Department Head by The Borr.

She stood up and smoothed out her suit and glanced in a mirror beside her desk to make sure she didn't look unpresentable. With a little nod of approval, she walked towards the door and opened it.

With a smile, she me the woman's eyes and said, "Well, hello! Please come in..." she said as she led the way into her office.

Before sitting down she asked, "Would you like something to drink or some candy or a cauldron cake?" she said flicking her right wrist causing her wand to shoot into her hand from her wrist holder. She flicked her wand and a tray of cups and little goodies floated over to her desk.

It seemed like it took forever for the woman to answer the door. I bet she’s adjusting herself in the mirror. Medea didn’t deal well with women, usually they were catty and annoying. Eh, maybe this one would be different. Merlin knows the dark haired woman needed some kind of softer feminine influence.

Medea let a small smile appear before following the woman into the office. Blah. This woman was a real Suzy Homemaker huh? I bet she knows all kinds of household charms. The woman holding the files almost said no to the goodies. But, she decided the woman behind the desk was trying to be hospitable, and it would be excessively rude to say no. ”Yes, thank you.”

She reached for the tray and nabbed one cauldron cake. Enough of the small talk, let’s get to business. ”So Ms. McMillian, here is the requirements for the Liaison position. It’s rather extensive.” Medea handed her a sheet that reviewed the required credentials. She doubted that anyone would have 6 OWL’s. ”It is possible the person won’t fit all the requested criteria. But we need to get as close as possible.” Medea couldn’t help but come off as cold, unfriendly and unimpressed. Seriously, she needed to find a friend to help her see the other side of things.

Staying quiet for a moment she allowed the woman to look over the sheet.

Iridesca kept a pleasant face on as the woman got straight to business. That's the way it should be...she thought.

Before reaching for the paper, she held out her hand to the woman, "I'm Iridesca McMillan. I don't think we've met officially." she said with a smile. She had always been taught that office etiquette was to meet whomever you were working with before you got started on business.

She reached for a drink and a licorice wand and then glanced at the sheet of paper and the requirements.

Iridesca had to admit that she didn't understand the need for this position. She figured that the department heads should be able to handle these duties...I mean that's what they were there for wasn't it. She didn't like feeling like just a glorified babysitter of her department...she pushed those thoughts to the back of her head and glanced up at the woman with a little smile on her face noticing that the woman was...well...missing a personality really.

"Well I will have to look at my records to see if anyone fits all of these qualifications and are willing to take over this position." she paused and took a drink, "Is there a specific process that we need to follow to get the position filled or is it up do tour judgment to make it happen?" she asked quickly figuring that the Minister had a specific plan for them to follow...

Introductions now? Shouldn’t that have taken place at the door? This woman was a little too casual for Medea’s taste. With a raised brow she responded, ”Medea Ward.” She said simply.

Medea now realized the down fall to her current job (not counting the lack of awesome power); It was that she had to share her employees. Seeing as though the chosen individual would actually keep their current job, and also work for her she would not have complete power over their activities and assignments. Even worse, Medea had to coordinate things with people like Ms. McMillian.

The dark haired woman knew the Liaison positions were fairly new. She also knew that some Department Heads were not forth coming with information at all times. Medea couldn’t help but wonder if her position, and the 8 she was instructed to fill were to be spies of some sort for Lord Borr. The thought made her lips curl up on the ends. Oh now wouldn’t that be fabulous. Medea had been looking for an ‘in’ with the large sweaty man, and if her suspicious were correct then she might just have a direct line to him.

A smile still on her face she explained, ”Well, to be honest you tell me who fits the criteria, and if they want the job and I approve, they can have it. No one else is involved in the matter.” Medea was making an attempt at gaining the woman’s trust. Hey, at least she tried.

Then something registered with her, if they want the job? What fool wouldn’t?! The no personality having woman snapped slightly, ”Ms. McMillian, I’m not sure why anyone would turn this job down. It is a promotion of sorts, they will continue to work for you and hold a position in the Minister’s office under my direction. This would also mean a pay raise for them. “ Who would be as ignorant to turn this down?!

OCC: You ultimatley pick who ever you want

Iridesca cocked one eyebrow up at the woman, "Well Ms. Ward, what is the deadline for me to get you the name of our department's liason? I need to pull their records to make sure someone matches the criteria closely if not perfectly before just appointing someone." she said glancing at the piece of paper and then back up at the woman. She was hoping that someone would want the job but she wasn't sure. You never knew and she hoped she didn't have to make someone take it...more money or not.

"I will def keep in mind the incentive of a pay raise for whomever I find suitable for the position. Do you know how much extra duties the person would have? " she asked still not completely understanding the need for the position. She didn't feel like the description was in depth enough for her to fully explain the position to one of her employees.

This woman sure asked a lot of questions. ”Well, I’d like to have the appointments done in no more than 2 weeks time.” Medea really didn’t think it’d be that hard to choose someone seeing as though most people didn’t fit the requirements anyway. If it wasn’t filled in two weeks time Medea would surely report the problem to either Mr. Greingoth or quite possible Lord Borr himself. She would not stand for that sort of insubordination. Sure Ms. McMillian was not her subordinate, but her in ability to cooperate would be a direct violation of Mr. Greingoth’s directions, thus violation of the Minister himself.

Drumming all the patience she could she smiled as genuinely as she could, ”Yes I don’t actually anticipate the work load increasing greatly. I except a report once a week from the Liaison regarding any new employees, tasks started and completed, etc” Closing the file folder in her lap she continued, ”I will also hold occasional meetings. But I will make sure you get a memo as to when they will take place, that way you know the person won’t be in attendance on your level for that period of time.”

Medea folded her hands in her lap, ”If you need more information you can send me a memo and I’ll respond promptly.” Hopefully the woman understood everything, and there would be no need for further correspondence – except of course to inform Medea who she had chosen.

”Is there anything else?”

Iridesca could tell that the woman was thinking entirely too hard in between her statements and eventhough she had a forced smile could tell they probably weren't exactly the most nice thoughts, but still....she kept her pleasant face on. She wrote the pertinent information down on her list of requirements and looked back up.

"Well I will start doing some research on my employees test scores and see who fits the standards and whom would be willing to help the Minister of Magic." she put emphasis on the Minister because she wasn't sure if this woman understood her place in the Minister's office...she seemed...well kind of...power hungry or pushy or something...and Iridesca just wasn't sure about it.

"Will the Department Heads be welcome at these meetings as well?" she asked wondering why they were being cut out of things when in the past this had kind of been one of their duties.

She smiled at the woman and then said, "Well, if you'll excuse me I would like to get started on this as quickly possible." she said motioning towards the door, "Thank you for stopping by Ms. Ward." she said with a little nod up and down...normally she would say it was a pleasure or that she would see the woman around but she wasn't too sure about this woman and just left it at that.

OOC: Your girl is a feisty one..I love her! =0]

Obviously this woman was delusional. PFT, whatever. Medea didn’t care that the woman was well, let’s just say not the brightest bulb. She nodded as the woman explained that she would start her research. Yes, yes you would.

Department Heads at the meeting? Medea was taken by the question, why would they need to be at the meeting? The DH's don't need to be at her meetings. Would the department heads not know what was going on in their Department? ”Well we would be discussing the goings on of your department among the others, so I assume you’d already know what was going on and not need to attend. But of course, you’re more than welcome to attend.” This woman was really getting under Medea’s skin, but she smiled anyways.

”Of course, I’ll leave you to your job.” Medea stood and swiftly made her way out the door.

Thank Merlin that was over! The next time Medea had to meet with Ms. McMillian would be too soon.

Iridesca watched as the lady with no real personality headed out of her office. She had to admit that she was thankful that the lady was leaving because she made the hair on the back of Iridesca's neck stand up. There was just something off and extremely sneaky about that woman.

She glanced at the list of requirements again and then started writing a letter to all of the employees. Once she was satisfied with it, she flicked her wand and instantly thirty or so copies whizzed out towards the work area.

In a lull between tasks some time later, Gavin had gotten up from his desk, the reminiscator feeling it was as good a time as any to see Iridesca as the note had said. He crossed from the Obliviator division work stations over to where the door to the office in question was, his movements steady though slow enough not to appear in a rush of any sort. Pausing before the door to take a deep breath, Gavin then raised his hand and knocked on the door, hoping the woman inside wasn't busy or in the middle of something.

Charlotte hadn't really understood the note, but she figured she would go see the department head anyway. What was her name again? Iri something...Iridesca? Something like that.

Emerald knocked the door three times and waited patiently outside. It seemed as if everyone was crowded in there, listening to the sound.

Dalton practically skipped into his Department Head's office. He smiled at her and stuck his hand out. "Dalton Douglas. Please to meet you." He said liking his new home in the ministry already. He smiled at her and continued on with his statment. "Now I know I just started but about your memo." He said thinking of the note that had fluttered onto his desk. It was after all something he wanted greatly. "I'd like to put my name in the running for the position. I promise I can show my skills by then." He smiled again not realizing he was talking to fast. He just go so excited about these kinds of things.

Iridesca glanced at the new employee with a smile....well he was forward. She flicked her wand and waited for a few seconds. Instantly his file from the filing cabinet flew through her door and onto her desk. She smiled at the man as she flipped through it. "Mr. Douglas, I assume you reviewed the requirments from my memo?" she said more as a statement than a question, "So since you're new to the department and I don't really know you very well at all...give me three good reasons why you are more qualified for the position than the other candidates." she said still flipping through his file.

The head opened her door with a smile and held out her hand to the person standing there. Man it was crowded out here. She held out her hand before motioning into her office, "Iridesca MacMillan, please come in. What can I help you with?"

Iridesca opened the door and saw a new face standing there. She knew that the face belonged there after reviewing the new files in the filling cabinet. She held out her hand to the new face, "Iridesca MacMillan, please come in and have a seat." she said motioning to a chair in her office.

Iridesca opened the door and smiled as she saw Gavin standing there. She had been hoping that he would apply for the position but she was going to be fair and listen to everyone's side of the story. She held out her hand to shake his, "Hey Gavin. Please come in!" she said with her usual smile.

She led the way into her office and took a seat. While she waited for him to enter, she said, "Would you like something to drink?" she said with a flick of her wand as a tray of goodies flew to the edge of her desk in front of the current empty seat.

She paused and then continued, "I assume you're here about the new position/addition from the Minister?" she said with a little nod up and down.

"Hello Iridesca," Gavin returned, accepting her offered hand and giving a polite handshake. He nodding at her invite and moving from where he had patiently waited to do as she asked.

The reminscator followed her into the office, shaking his head slightly as her offer of beverage. "No thank you, I'm fine," he replied before listening to the department head's question. The man remaining standing not wanting to assume he could sit.

"Then you would assume correctly," he said in confirmation with a small simple smile.

The head was trying hard not be excited...honestly Gavin had been in the back of her head when they had mentioned the new position. She noticed that he was still standing and said, "O Gavin, don't be so formal....have a seat!" she said with a friendly wink.

"Well, I have to admit that I'm very happy that you are inquiring about the position. I don't know too much about it since they just sprang it on me a week ago, but I think it sounds like an interesting endeavor." she said trying to keep her suspicion out of her voice. She knew it was a great idea but she really didn't understand the need for it, but she was always open to new things.

She flicked her wand and instantly his file from the personnel cabinet flew into her office and landed on her desk. She opened it and glanced at it quickly. "So, why do you think you would be my best choice for the position?" she asked. She had put together a list of three questions and she was going to make sure that she got answers from all of the candidates.

Gavin relaxed and obligued taking the offered seat and settling into it. He wasn't entirely sure of the full impact or meaning of her words on how she was glad he was making an inquiry into the position. Was there something hidden there?

The charms worker didn't try to dwell on it too much as he noticed her retrieve a file from the filing cabinet figuring it was his personnel file. His arms resting simply across his lap he listened to her question expecting something similar and he had worked on gathering his words as he waited outside.

"Well I'm responsible and work well with others," he started out at first not wanting his experience to be the first answer. "And I feel with my experience working in or alongside the various divisions in the department over the years I would be an asset to both you and the minister's office in whatever's expected of me."

Emmy smiled at the Department Head and shook the hand. "Thank you." She said as she was invited into the room. Now, deep breath. BREATHE!

"Hi, I'm Emerald Skye. I'm new to the Department but not new to the Ministry." Emerald started off comfidently. It was probably because of the chocolate she had before work. "I've worked before in the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, then I was transfered here." Telling a little about herself isn't a waste of time at all. "Though I have some outside experience of the field I'm currently working in. I love working with new people and I'm sure I can get alone very well with them." Oh Merlin! Saying all this stuff, she's forgeting what she was here for. "Oh, and I would like to apply for the position." Emerald doesn't really expect that she'll get it, after all, she's new to the department. But it's worth the experience.

Iridesca smiled at the woman as she sat down. "Well it is nice to formally meet you Ms. Skye." she said with a simple nod up and down. As the woman continued, the head took a little sip from her blue cup and then flicked her wand. Instantly the woman's personnel file flew into the room and landed on a pile of other similar files. Iridesca reached for it and flipped through it briefly.

"I'm very happy you came in and are thinking about the position. I have three questions that I've been asking all of the wizards interested in the Liaison position...and you have already answered my first question..." she said enthusiastically.

"So, let's shoot for the next one. What are two strengths and two weaknesses that you have?" she said as she scribbled down a few notes on a piece of paper with a blue pen about the woman....nothing bad, just notes...she glanced back up with a smile and waited for her answer.


The head smiled and shook her head at him up and down slightly as he answered. She flipped through his file as she answered occasionally and then glanced back up to hear his reply again. "Very good reasons...." she said before taking a quick sip from her blue glass.

"Okay onto the next question...What would you say are your top two strengths and top two weaknesses?" she said as she reached for a notepad and blue pen on the edge of her desk and wrote down notes from his first question. She then set down the pen and listened intently to his answers...two question down...one to go...a few other applicants to talk to....maybe she should've just appointed someone...she thought and then shook her head knowing this was the better and more fair solution.

The second question was a bit more challenging seeing as she was asking his opinion of his strengths and weaknesses and Gavin wasn't one to be comfortable talking or caring that much on himself. He would have been better asking a long time friend to describe him, not to mention he kinda gave two answers to the positive in his last answer.

"Well for strengths being a good problem solver is one I would say. Comes in handy in this department," Gavin remarked briefly thinking back. "As well as what I already said," he added not wanting to over brag on his strengths.

"As for weaknesses...I tend to be over-judgemental of myself," he admitted. It came from wanting to make himself the best he could be especially after past mistakes when he was younger. "And unless I'm fully informed I can be reserved in my reaction."

Emerald simply shook the woman's hand.

Strengths and weaknesses. That is something that Emerald's trying to be better at, knowing her strength and weaknesses. Actually, she's pretty good at that already, it's just the part that where she tries to get better at her weaknessed bothers her.

Emmy smiled. "Weaknesses..." She decided it would be best if she does her weaknesses first. Save the best for last. "...well...I'm pretty quick tempered, though I try to stay calm when things happen. But I do cool down really quick. It's like finding me crying, then see me humming my favorite song one minute later." Emerald decided that being a little funny wouldn't hurt. It's actually true that she cools down pretty quick, about one minute.

"My other one would be that I believe things that people say too easily.” Emerald started to say. “I believe things too easily.” Emmy repeated. It’s probably one of her worst weaknesses. Believe it or not, having this weakness tends to get you into a lot of trouble. But of course she’ not gonna believe things like, pigs falling out of the sky that easily. But it could happen. “And of course, I have a lot of other flaws and weaknesses.”

Getting to the better topic. “One of the strength that I have is that I always look at the positive side of things. I can encourage discouraged workers. I get along when people pretty well too.” Emerald found it MUCH easier to say her strength. Everyone would. “Also, I don’t believe in failure. I keep doing it until I get it right.” Emerald finished, and found it easier to breath.

Charlotte smiled and walked in to the room. She shook her department heads hand and sat down in the chair offered. "Pleased to meet you Iridesca," she greeted. "Or would you prefer Miss MacMillian." Or Mrs. Uh...Charlotte just closed her mouth and decided to stop talking before she started rambling.

A sudden flash of pale-violet appears in the office, and upon looking up, one can see that an interdepartmental memo in the form of a folded paper airplane has made its way in.

Once caught and unfolded, the memo inside will read:

Minister Berty Borr has called a mandatory meeting with the Senior Undersecretary and all Ministry Department Heads. The meeting will commence immediately in Courtroom 10 on the tenth level of the Ministry of Magic. Please be on time and bring with you all ideas and responses to the recent memo regarding the rejuvenating of our spirits and the oxygenating of our halls.
