Carley entered, yawning slightly. "Morning," she called out, really to nobody in particular. She yawned again. Gah, goodness. It was waaaay to early for this. She was not a morning person. No sir, no she was not.

She pulled her hair up into a high ponytail and secured it with an elastic before taking a seat. She leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms over her chest. Oooh, who in their right mind had gotten her up this early? Merlin.

Ryanne walked into the conference room. It was quit full with co-workers as well as the head of the department. This was her first confernece meeting since getting the job at the ministry and she was really excited "Morning....Morning....Morning" She said as she passed by fellow co wrokers.

Taking a seat next to a rather sleepy looking co worker and prepared herself for the conference to begin.

Jack entered the confrence room for a meeting he had read about on the notice board right outside his ofiice. He felt rather excited to finally get out of the office which had felt so crowded ever sice all the offices merged together. He saw some fellow coworkers and said, "Good morning all", in a rather upbeat happy voice. He could not wait to learn what this meeting was about. He really hoped it may be an on the field mission. With those thoughts in mind he took his seat.

Clarke walked into the conference room, his eyes looking over to where Erica was seated, waiting for them. "Hello Erica," he flashed her a smile and sat down in the closest seat to where he was.

Gazing around the room, his fingers travelled through his hair. Which he thought looked rather perfect, if he was honest.

Kasandra let out a large yawn as she wandered into the conference room. Her eyes darted around at the some what familiar faces that were around her as she hand kept close a mug full of freshly brewed coffee. It was kind of funny how she had been working here for so long, and still didn't know the people she worked with that well.

After she took her seat, Kass grabbed her long black hair and tied it back- waiting for the meeting to start.

Elinor strode quickly into the room, a black folder, bulging slightly, tucked under her right arm. She wore a venim skirt, nearly black, that reached past her knees, and a longsleeved white and grey striped shirt. Her short brown-reddish hair was swept away from her face, giving her a slightly catlike appearance with her emerald eyes.

She took a seat near Miss Radley, setting down the folder in front of her, crossing her legs under the table.

After many signatures later, Fionn had noticed a few of her fellow co-workers had already went into the conference room. Cursing herself in her head, she wondered why going she just had to go out to lunch at the Leaky Cauldron that afternoon. When she was gone a good stack of papers had piled on her desk. Sighing, she signed the last one with her black well inked pen before standing up from her desk.

Running her hands along her crisp black pencil skirt, she picked up the paper coffee cup she had gotten from the break room earlier and headed towards the conference room. Whatever that was the problem to call up a meeting, she had no idea. Dragons weren't on the loose upon the city, at least to her knowledge. Shrugging her shoulders lightly, she walked into the room and her eyes skimmed the room. She had a feeling she hadn't even met nearly half the people in her department. Mental note: actually MEET your co-workers. Putting on a small smile, she walked over to the nearest empty seat and sat down, crossing her legs as best as she could.

Drago walked in after several others, looking about the crowded room. Oh yes, it was a joy to be here. He shifted around and leaned against a wall, arms crossed, looking somewhat preoccupied.

Erica smiled at every single one of her employees as they walked on in, even giving those that had said morning to her, a greeting back and others got a polite curt nod from the Blonde. Occassionally the Department Head sipped on her tea she had placed in front of her whilst the parchment remained empty. Which reminded her, maybe she should ask for a scribe for this meeting, it would be so much more convenient after all. “Anyone volunteer to be scribe for me?” she asked, not targeting at anyone in particular, well maybe one of the more experienced employees, they knew what they were doing after all.

She remained where she sat for a while until she was sure that everyone that was going to turn up today, had indeed turned up. Her eyes followed them as they took their seats before she chose to clear her throat to stop any chatter going on and also to announce that she was about to speak, and it was important, otherwise why else would she have called this meeting. She needed them to listen, because she needed their opinion on the matter, and quite urgently to be frank.

“Some of you may have heard, some of you may not have, but recently we have been receiving a few…problems regarding some of the laws that we have protecting some of the Magical Creatures species” Erica started to speak to her employees, a straight expression on her face. She meant business. “I’ve recently been informed of a protest in Liverpool, outside one of the magical Veterinary Services” she sighed. “..Regarding the matter of crups..” she continued. “Does anyone have an idea over what these protests are about?” she asked. She particularly wanted to know whether it was just her that knew or whether others had indeed been informed. True she had a few secrets of her own but these weren’t exactly important right now.

"I can take scribe," Drago briefly said as he took a seat, pulling out a blank volume and quill. Where he kept it was anyone's guess.

"It's rare that I keep up on anything involving household species, however I would assume there might be some upset in the removal of a part of the tail in order to keep them around muggles. Has another issue arisen?" Not that he honestly cared much. Since meeting Slade, crups had become his second least-liked creature, though still far above the feline species.

After seating for so long she finally started the meeting."Could it be overbreeding?" she said. She was unsure the reason why crups were a problem "Maybe there is too many of them out and are becoming strays."

James sat in mute silence, listening to Ms Erica and the other employees speaking up, the first voicing his thoughts on the matter, so he just kept quiet... which was probably for the best considering how nervous he was. He just KNEW, if he opened his mouth he would stutter like a bumbling fool in front of all his colleagues.

He had to admit though, that he did agree with the wizarding population on this subject – it was rather barbaric to remove the poor creature's tails. There should be an all out ban on keeping them around muggles in his opinion.

He bit his bottom lip and scribbled down a couple of notes, then looked back at Erica, waiting to find out whether his thoughts were correct.

Emerald arrived at the conference room panting. She was sure she's late. "Sorry, family emergency." She said immediately. Emmy was ashamed for being late. She know from the beggining that being late is very impolite. Well, maybe they can forgive her for a family emergency, after all, Emerald have to see her sick sister in Australia. "Sorry," Emmy muttered silently under her breath.

Nikos quietly sipped his coffee while the department head spoke. After a few others expressed their opinions and he had gathered his own on the matter he spoke. "I haven't heard anything regarding crups," which wasn't saying much since he too rarely kept up with household species and he had been so busy with his own department. "But I can take a guess that it has either do with the cutting of their tales or their aggressiveness towards muggles." They didn't put crups down for that, did they?

Jack listened as the began to speak of what this meeting is about. When she finished Jack decided to give his two sense on the matter saying, "I have not heard anything on the matter of crups either. However I can take a guess that one too many of them found their way onto muggle streets. Muggles thinking they were dogs took them in. Them shear number of occurances like this may be cause for alarm.However I don't know for sure. It's just a guess", jack ended with an airy quality took his voice.

Carley crossed her arms and took on a look of concentration. Hmm... Oddly, no, she hadn't heard anything. Which was weird seeing as now that Lani was back home sick, she was being posted on everything. Weird. Very weird.

The young woman listened to the other's responses and thought for a moment. "Does it have anything to do with attacking muggles?" That, would deffinitely qualify as a problem.

Erica nodded and smiled over at Drago as he offered to take scribe. She was slightly surprised that one of her Division Heads would take the position, she was expecting them to hopefully partake in the discussion fully, they were the leaders of their respected divisions after all, but she truly didn't mind that he offered, it saved another person doing it. "Thank you Drago" she shuffled the parchment along. She wanted notes on there so she could keep them in her filing cabinet.

The Blonde listened to what everyone had to say, taking note of individual opinions but it was Drago once again that had got there first, not forgetting a few others. "Unfortunately, we've had a few... protesters" troublemakers, whatever it was you wanted to call them. "Who aren't so keen on the rule previous Department Heads.." Yes it wasn't HER fault, she didn't make the rule, she just kept them. "About removing the crups tail so it blends in with Muggle Society" that was pretty much the issue. "These people have been saying that it is cruel to the Crups to do such a thing, which has made ME think myself..." she continued.

"I think it might be time to have a look at this rule, decide if there is in fact a alternative to it." she looked around there room. "Which has got me thinking about what other rules or regulations we have put in place that could give these people something to protest about" she stated. Which bought her to her next question, she'd deal with the crup issue later. "Can you think of anything? Any law, any guideline we have paired with a certain creature that could cause protests?" Similar to the crup issue.

She listen to Erica taking notes of the Crup issue and the law invovling thier tails. She had only been here for a few months and was unsure of all the rules and laws about magical creatures but she did know one invovling house elfs "What about the treatment of house elves? It is basically like slavery and there should be something that prevents a beast to be under a rule of slavery or at least unneccesary treatment. " She said

"It would seem.." With his hands steepled in his lap, Warren rocked slowly back and forth in his enchanted chair, eyes still closed. "..that this may merely be the symptom of a larger problem. Perhaps it is not the act of cutting off the tail, but that it has to be done to blend in."

The man in the large hat let his haunting voice hang in the air for a moment before continuing. "It is a taboo subject, but some believe that Crups and wizards alike shouldn't have to hide from the muggles. Some dare to think that we should rule over them."

Slowly his eyes drifted open, taking a long look around the room. "Or maybe it is just some bleeding hearts standing up for animal rights." Warren shrugged.

Ryanne is right people don't even give recpet to the house elves nero said claming.I think there should something like getting paid for there work and be set free.i am right Ryanne he said with a smile.

Drago nodded in agreeance with Warren. "Could go either way. Admittedly, we're probably looking more at 'bleeding hearts,' as Warren so eloquently put it. There have been higher incidences of such things lately. Particularly starting in the Potter Era. With heightened awareness of such things comes a mass of people wanting to do something about it. The wizarding world is normally against change, being very set in its ways, but the newer generations have that incredible era of history to learn from, and were raised by those who were influenced by that era. That means there are numerous things that weigh on along with the crup issue.

"Tails are one thing, but in the muggle world there has been a long struggle about animals in captivity, as pets, animals roaming without medical care. If this is encroaching on the wizarding world, that could mean activists against pets, those who are for leashes, those who are against them. When should an animal be put down? We still put down magical creatures who show more intelligence than many mundane animals because we deem them harmful to ourselves. Thestrals, griffins, chimaera... Let us not forget current treatment of centaurs, lycanthropes, merpeople... It's gotten better, but people still perceive a large amount of mistreatment in those areas. As someone who has had to track and hunt werewolves, I know it's a lot like hunting an animal. And there are many who treat it that way even when it's not the fill moon."

"It wouldnt be so bad if they werent forced and allowed to do as they please" She said "But to make them punish themselves for doind what there owners believe is wrong"

Kass chewed on her nail as she listened to everyone talk around her. She couldn't really think of an alternative to this, it wasn't really something she dealt with. Give it a couple of days- Kass would most likely think of something as she brewed up some tea, but at the moment it was rather hopeless.

"Cutting off the tails." Kass took her thumbnail out of her mouth and looked around before continuing on. "Isn't it kind of just like what muggles do with their pets? Dock their tails, crop their ears, remove dew claws, declaw cats, ect ect." She thought about it for a moment. Although really she personally didn't agree with it, it was rather true.

"I mean we could always just remove the crups from muggle inhabitated areas. We don't let other creatures roam around them for a reason."

"Kneazles," Drago said with some disdain. "They look enough like cats that many are kept by wizarding owners in the muggle realms. Some may even be kept by unwitting muggles. They're all felines."
