A tall, skinny, gawky looking young man with a shock of white blonde hair shuffled into his new place of work. He was frightfully nervous and it showed clearly on his face like he was a rabbit in the headlights about to be squashed. Shoulders stooped a little as if trying to appear smaller than his height would allow, he scanned the room with large round eyes looking for someone, anyone, to come to his aid and tell him where he was supposed to go and what he was supposed to be doing. His bottom lip caught between his teeth which he nervously chewed at.
James was a curious combination of contradictions. Although appearing to seem to want to be invisible, he wore the strangest, rather colourful concoction of muggle clothing. A pureblood wanting to look like a muggle but falling short of the mark. His clothing screamed 'LOOK AT ME!' while his body language politely suggested that he didn't want to be disturbed. Today though, as it was his first day in a new job, he had dumbed things down. He donned a pair of polished, shiny black shoes, a crisp white shirt and dark trousers with wide bright red braces* to hold them up.
He hovered in front of the desk nearest to the door he had entered through. Clammy hands clasped in front of him to stop himself from fidgeting anxiously, he cleared his throat to get the person sitting there's attention.
A small young girl walked into her office. She looked around and smiled it being her first job she didn't want to get fired on the first day.Kim walked around until she found an empty desk. She sat down and smile feeling the wood desk and looked around quietly.

At that moment a man walked into the office and Sarah's gaze went over to him as she noticed that he looked rather nervous. She could understand that feeling. She was quite nervous at first when she joined the Ministry a year or two back. MAN. That seemed so long ago. It was like... she couldn't think of a comparison at the moment but she knew it would be a very cool and awesome comparison though. Sarah liked to believe she was psychic. Maybe one of these days her dreams would come true.
She looked back over at the other employees and down at the cats. To be truthful, she wasn't really much of a cat person. They were cute and all... quite cuddly... but she always preferred dogs. Hopefully these cats were mind readers. Deciding to give it a try, Sarah picked one of them up and set it on her lap. Huh. Not bad. No scratches. No bites. Yet.
And then she heard someone clear their throat.
Turning around to look at who it was, it was the man again. And... WHOA. How did Sarah manage to be a complete fail and miss seeing the clothes the man wore? She must've been focusing on his face because his clothes were quite radical. She particularly liked the braces he wore. Very red. It stood out. For some reason he appeared as if he was... what was it? Again. A lapse of forgetfulness.
"Hello there! Welcome to the Department of Magical Creatures. I'm Sarah Lee. Division Head of the Beings Division. Why don't you come over here and join us?" Oh. She was evil. Forcing him to mingle.
Oh. Another one. New employees seemed to be growing on trees now. It was like buying laundry detergent at Walmart.
Smiling, Sarah waved at the young woman, practically a girl, that walked in. "Hello!"
James had been too distracted by his own nervous disposition to have noticed all the cats in the office at first. He should have known though, by the smell alone. He liked cats – he did; but they didn't seem to like him very much - not since...well what James liked to refer to simply as 'The incident'.
His gaze moved from the cats to a lady who seemed to have noticed him. Good – he wasn't invisible... although he was beginning to wish he was when the lady invited him over to join 'them'. Them meaning people. People making small talk like it was the easiest thing in the world. James's heart began to race. “Heh-h-hello.” He stuttered out with all the enthusiasm of a dormouse. He began to move his feet over to the group where he just sort of hovered waiting for invitation to sit. “I'm J-James Greenwood, Ma'am. A nnew hem-hemployee.” Marvellous! – he'd managed to string a complete sentence together! He gave the lady a forced, rather uncomfortable smile and continued to hover feeling extremely awkward.
The attention, thankfully, was taken away from him and directed to another new employee who must have been around his own age although she was small in stature. He went back to chewing his bottom lip and just waited to be told where his desk was... or something.

Awww... the poor boy... well... man really. He seemed so nervous. He didn't really look to be much of a people person and showed as he stuttered his introduction. Sarah smiled gently and encouragingly as he waited. Poor dear, he looked to be about her age and yet he was a little boy, waiting for his mommy to come back from the store. He was so small and cute, Sarah could just squish him. But she wouldn't because of their similar ages, she didn't want to come off as someone that was attracted to him, especially on his first day here. No need to scare him.
"Welcome James. No need to call me Ma'am. You're making me sound ancient. Just call me Sarah. Now, do you know which Division you're in?" she asked, smiling as she looked around for an empty desk for James to take. She had a feeling that he wouldn't really want a desk too close to people, then again... maybe it'd be a good thing. Let him interact. Or maybe she should just let the poor thing choose for himself.
James's heart rate was beginning to slow back to it's usual rate. This wasn't so bad. No one was taking much notice of him apart from the pleasant lady who had beckoned him over. But he still continued to hover there, feeling like he stuck out like a sore thumb.
His old fashioned politeness had been mistaken for an insult to the lady's age. “My Ah-pologies, Sarah.” He said looking sheepish as he felt heat rise in his pale cheeks. “B-beings, Ma'..” He stopped mid word, more blood rushed to his cheeks making them match his red braces perfectly. “I-I muh-mean.. Sarah.” He quickly corrected himself, impressed that he managed to do so with only a few nervous ticks to his speech. He managed an awkward smile at her. She seemed nice.

Nodding her head at James's apology, Sarah merely smile and shook her head. And then he almost accidentally called her 'Ma'am' once again, but she overlooked that with the fact that she was in her Division! How splendid! "It's fine, James. Really. You call me whatever you'r comfortable with," she said, smiling as she stood up from her seat to bring him to his desk. Or. Any desk.
"You're in the Beings Division! I am your Division Head, so if you need anything to talk to me about, work or personal-wise, you can come talk to me. Never feel like you can't. Now, would you like to choose your own desk or would you like me to choose for you?" Sarah asked, gently as she reached for his arm and guided him towards the center of the room and pointed out where the empty desks were.

James was relaxing even more. The nice lady was helping put him at ease. He smiled a little and nodded when she said he could call her what he was comfortable with. Well it wasn't ma'am.. not now – so it would have to be Sarah.
She was his new boss. Oh this was terrific news. Better her than some fire-breathing dragon who would reduce the young man to nothing but a gibbering wreck in his first week of work. He remained silent just listening to her. Oh she was lovely - really lovely. He smiled a little at her words, 'Never feel you can't talk to me?' That was easier said than done for the painfully shy young man. He nodded though. “Thanks.” He said gratefully.
He shuffled towards the centre of the office and looked around at the desks. If it were up to him, he would chose that single desk over in the corner at the other side of the room but what good would that achieve? “Would you choose, please?” He asked her, the clarity of his speech indicating that he was beginning to relax. “Just maybe not next to the man with the cats?” He said in a hushed voice so only Sarah would hear. No cats - he liked the creatures but the feeling wasn't mutual.

At this point, the man looked more at ease, which was good. One needed to be relaxed in a working environment and he was just a sweetheart. Huh. Maybe working as a Division Head DID make Sarah older... she sure FELT older now. Some supernatural forces were at work here, causing Sarah to turn from a twenty-year-old to a forty-year-old that called everyone sweethearts. Oh dear. She really needed to get out more.
Oh. She really did hope that he would talk to her. Not just because Sarah was trying to boost up the whole boss-employee friendship thing but he truly was a sweetheart. He looked so innocent and small. She wished to be his friend and help him become more comfortable around the area and with people.
Hey! No stuttering!
Sarah smiled a smile, a little bit of surprise and cheerfulness and PRIDE, and nodded her head. "Sure. I'll choose one for you. Let's see..." she glanced around, but then immediately turned her head back over to James as he spoke up once more. At what he said, Sarah laughed, but then quickly clapped her hand to her mouth, glancing over at the man and his cats. Looking back over at James, she nodded her head. "No problem," she said, winking at him as she once again took a hold of his arm and pulled him along gently. Sarah led him to an empty desk off to the side of the room. The desk was next to a few others but was less crowded than the other desks and was somewhat near hers, not that she did that on purpose. "How about this one?"

Lucia smiled at the Division Head. Woow, it was a pretty title and she hoped that she could rise to such a responsibility one day. "Hello Sarah. It's great to meet you." She said positively. Now erm, what else to say? "..I'm really glad to be working here!" Right...from now on she will try to sound not too eager. She shuffled her feet awkwardly, maybe being around a higher authority made her more nervous.
She looked to the side as two more people filed into the room. One of the pair, the man, was wearing very vibrant colours whilst the other, the woman, wandered off to a desk. They both looked rather nervous. Lucia could relate to that. Feeling a splurge of confidence, she forwarded herself to the new employees with a warm, welcoming smile. "Hey, i'm Lucia." She paused. "Lucia Taylor..." She paused once again. "..from the Spirits Division." Wow she made a right mess of that introduction.

After a much needed get away to Greece to visit his parents, he was finally back at work. Strolling in to the office with his hands shoved into his pockets there was a easy smile in his face. Nikos was in such a pleasant mood that he decided to dress professional, well as professional as comfort would allow, wearing a pair of loss fitting light brown slacks with black shoes and a slightly rumpled white dress shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
He spoted a group of his coworkers conversing, and not wanting to intrude decided to head over to his desk, his eyes quickly glancing over the group nonchalantly. He slid into his chair and leaned back with ease, clasping his hands in front of him and letting out a small satisfied sigh as his eyes scaned the desktop before him. Sure he was glad to be back at the ministry, but that didn't mean he wanted to jump right into the paper work that was sprawled across his desk. No, his attention was now on the pair of kneazles involved in a game of tag.

Such positivity and spirit! Sarah liked it. That's what the department needed. Spirit! And optimism. It seemed like there had been some good recruiting of employees done. Each and every new employee looked excited to be here, with a small exception of James but he was just shy. Sarah smiled at what Lucia said about being glad to be working there. "I'm glad that you are. Things are going to get more exciting around here I'm sure and we sure could use your energy," she said, quite complimentary.
Mhm. She needed... coffee.

After the whole remodeling of the Ministry dealio, employees every seemed to disappear one by one, including this one. He looked quite professional, well... at least compared to her. Sarah had decided to pull a comfy/lazy day and simply wear jeans and a t-shirt. Did that make her seem Division Head-ish? Maybe she and and the man should trade positions for the day?
Nyeaaahhh... his brain might explode with all the work load. He looked professional but who knew if he could handle all the paperwork that SHE had to deal with. Hmmppphh.

Nikos had been fussing with the rolled up sleeves of his shirt, already regrerting the decision to wear this whole outfit, when the woman walked over to him. Welcome back? "Didn't know I had been missed." He soflty grinned at her, trying to match a name with her face and coming up with none. Surely he had seen her before, they did work on the same floor or maybe they never got around to introductions.
"Nikolaos Fakiris, but you may call me Nikos. I don't believe I know your name?" Giving up on his shirt sleeve, he offered her a hand.

Rowan sauntered into the newly refurbished and expanded work area for her Department. She had to admit it had been an inspired idea to combine all of the departments into one big work area. She liked being able to see the people she worked with, even if it was directly.
Emerald green robes swishing at her feet, the tall red head made her way to her cubicle. You could spot the thing from across the room with all the green and silver. The proud Irish woman had no shame in her decorations, she loved her country and her House. Being in Slytherin had been a stroke of luck. Pushing nostalgic thoughts of the past from her mind, Rowan dropped her bag next to her desk and took a seat.
Of course, due to her short vacation home there was some paperwork that needed tending to. Sigh. Rowan hated paperwork.
Rinatta walked into the work room and looked around. Ah she was early again and no one else seemed to be there yet. Perfect. She had dressed in an elegant red set of robes today , they cut low into a more medival dress type style which she liked best. She had made sure her hair was impeccable , and put on a slight touch of makeup today. She had also put on a bit of her perfume to calm herself down, she felt that she may need it. Today she was going to meet all over her employees if she could ,she had brought goodies for everyone and a special treat for her employees that she got to meet. She was pleased with the idea and began to pull things out of her enchanted bag. She went to every spirits employee desk and placed a piece of parchment upon it.

Greetings and Good Morning Spirits Employee,
This is your division head Rinatta R. Cross.
I request that you come by my desk once you have settled this morning,
as I would like to meet you all individually and introduce myself in properly.
Also if you have any questions please ask them. Whether they are about
creatures, our division, whatever you may need answered that I am able
to assist you with. I am eagerly awaiting your arrival.
,Rinatta Cross.
Satisfied she walked back to her own desk and pulled out a few containers with cookies and cakes that she had brought for everyone and arranged them like a display upon her desk. Now she was just waiting for the rest of the employees ,especially her own. She would more than happily meet with everyone else and answer any questions that they had as well.

Sarah walked into the cubicles area with a cheerful smile on her face. Such a beautiful day and such a happy one too. She wore her usual every day casual wear and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail. And in her hand, was of course... coffee. Sarah took a quick sip of it before walking towards her desk. "Hello Rinatta!" she greeted heartily as she passed by the woman's desk on the way to hers. Upon reaching it, the woman placed her bag down on her desk.
Ah. Wonderful. FOOOOODDDD. She hadn't even noticed it yet. Silly her.
"Isn't it a wonderful day?" she inquired her fellow colleague as she made her way to the Division Head's desk.
<Good morning, Rin,> Drago said softly in passing Rin's desk on the way in. If someone wasn't already at her desk, he would have greeted her in a better way, but he withheld and behaved himself. He would have said more in their language, though until she learned more he decided to keep it simple. With that, he made his way to his own cubicle, ever so wary of a possible wandering feline.
Off in its own little corner, sat a desk strewn with half finished paper work, and a variety of curious objects. Most curious of all was the man that sat at that desk. A large top hat leaned slightly to one side, threatening to tip over with every move he made.
A black candle was burning at the corner of his desk, casting a cool shadow over his work area. Near the candle was a nineteen forties era tombstone radio, the dials set between station, filling the air with staticy white noise. If that wasn't enough, a metronome ticked back and forth, keeping rhythm like a heartbeat.
Shifting uncomfortably in his seat, Warren didn't much like these new accomodations. He didn't even know most of these people, he barely knew the people from spirit division. He was much better at working alone.

Rinatta felt uncomfortable this morning, her robes normally fit very well and yet her chest felt tight. It was a rather unpleasant feeling plus, to her personal horror, she had gained a slight bit of weight. I feel so icky, no food after 8 and no sweets after today for a bit. This is not becoming Rin looked over her desk, making certain everything was straight when she heard a familiar voice say hello to her. Looking up, she saw Sarah and gave her a bright smile. "Good Morning Sarah." Rin happened to be quite fond of Sarah, she was a very nice girl. "Its a positively lovely day." She replied in a merry tone, though she was less content that she would let on. "Would you like a cookie?" She offered a bit absentmindedly. She was having snack cravings and felt like sharing ,especially with good co-workers and employees.

Rin smiled softly as the face of the man she adored greeted her. <Good Morning Drago.> She replied in the same way. She was doing her best to keep it quite between them or she would have given him a much warmer greeting. She wanted to use his nickname too but she knew that it would be pushing it. She had to force herself not to watch him walk to his cubicle and instead smiled at Sarah. She was silently hoping that Drago would transfer to her division, though that could be a double-edged sword.

So....he was indeed her employee...no denying it. Drat She had come to dislike this man, though normally she was very accommodating. Something about him irked her the wrong way ,which though it seemed slightly easier lately, was quite uncommon. So....he must have seen the parchment. Was he going to read it and come over? Or completely ignore it? She waited patiently to see what he would do as she waited for more people.

She checked the draws in the desk and sat down in the chair and let out a huge sigh. She was finally here, in the misitry of magic, magical creatures department. She pulled out a peice of parchment and begain writing a letter to her neice, Sammy

Cookieeee? Well... yes she would. "Why I would. Thank you very much, Rin," Sarah said, smiling as she allowed herself to take a cookie. Mhm. Yummy. Brian would disapprove of her eating sweets so early in the morning and on the job, or maybe he wouldn't. She bet he ate them all the time. That boy had always been a sweet tooth.
"So what's the occasion?" she asked, referring to the cookie sharing. Was it someone's birthday? A holiday that Sarah apparently didn't bother to mark on her calendar? Huh. She... wondered...
She couldn't help but watch Rin curiously as the woman interacted with one of the fellow employees, Drago Carracio. Mhm. Their attitude towards each other. It was curious. Not warm as best friends. But not cold as enemies. But not like simple employees. Meh. Perhaps Sarah was reading too much into it. She tended to do that sometimes. It was a particularly bad habit that Brian always told her to get rid of. But sometimes she was right.

No matter. There was a new employee to welcome.
"Helloooooo there! Welcome to the Department of Magical Creatures! I'm Sarah Lee and I'm the Division Head of the Beings Division," Sarah greeted, waving at the woman that had picked out a desk and sat down. She seemed to be busy doing something but it still couldn't hurt to say hello. Perhaps she would join them in a bit?

Hmmm, he had a new employee starting today. Aweeeesome.
Chad hummed a tune as he entered into the work areas with his hands in his pockets. He had noticed that the new person had not yet come to his office and was starting to wonder if maybe she'd gotten lost. He knew he probably would of.
Actually, on his first day, he did. Instead of getting to the liaison area of the Minister's Office, he had conveniently wound up near a pot of coffee. Heh.
Ahhh! There she was! "Hellloo," he said in his french accent and smiled, approaching the new employee's desk slooooooowly. He didn't want to creep her out on her first day. "I'm glad to see you made it okay to your new workplace. Hello, Sarah," he added to his lovely division head. Mmmmhmm.

Ooooh, she did get lost. Bless her soul.
Chad chuckled and took a seat in front of his new employee's desk. "Eh, I think a lot of employees get lost on their first day in this place. You will get used to it soon enough," he nodded. "Regardless, it is a pleasure to meet you, Mademoiselle Glusen. I am Chad Stryker, your department head. I like coffee and cute creatures that I can carry in my pocket. Tell me something about you?"
